Got vouchers as a gift and then was saddened to hear they were closing, love,y ride across to find it very welcoming inside, the menu was varied We had the lamb and shepherds pie, small portions but beautifully served hot and very tasty. The desserts were tasty and presented with a tasty dressing The Venue is excellent, the food was beautiful and the staff were an absolute credit to the owner, sad it is closing

This is the best place to enjoy sublime food at acceptable prices within a 30 mile radius of Bedale and it is about to close. No No don't let it. The food was wonderful , service excellent and having visited five other establishments in the area, Tome & Nellie's beats them all by a mile...wish they were near whereI live...places like this need supporting or we all end up with thoughtless, processed food that tastes awful.

Had a weekend away in nearby Leyburn and stopped off at Tom & Nellies for Friday lunch. Lovely little find friendly warm welcome we were a little early but they sat us at our table straight away. Great food choice … not often you get a full menu throughout the day but we were spoiled for choice…. Great staff very friendly… 3 courses later and a chat with the chef we were fit to bursting!!! What an amazing little find… it is not in our doorstop but we would make a special trip just to go back … my husband & I don’t get too much time off together but this weekend was very memorable thanks to this great little restaurant 😋

Highly recommend this lovely restaurant in Bedale. Lots of food options, and the portions were a good size. I expected a smaller portion for my £4 starter (I am from London so we’re used to being ripped off) so I was pleasantly surprised to find that the salmon and chive fish bites I ordered were in fact 4 fully sized fish cakes. They were delicious, as was my boozy plum trifle. Nice atmosphere too. Thank you to the staff who looked after us that day.

You can tell a good pub when, even on a cold Thursday evening, it’s full of people having a good time - and that’s what the Crown and Anchor is all about. This is a cracking local pub in the attractive old centre of Sowerby. It’s very smart but retains the feel of a traditional pub. Service is friendly and very efficient and the atmosphere is really nice.

A cut above your normal Sunday pub lunch. Excellent presentation and really tasty. Not the normal boiled veg. Very good.

What a little gem of a cafe. Breakfast service is personal and welcoming. The menu was taylored to my choice and so tasty. Yet to enjoy the evening menu but it always looks so warm and welcome when I drive by in an evening.

We had a lovely afternoon tea, 2 of my party were gluten and dairy intolerant and this was not a problem at all!! The sandwiches were huge and full of yummy fillings! All the cakes and scones were perfect as well, our only problem was we could not eat it all so we had a doggy bag for later. It was a fantastic way to start a few days away with friends! Afterwards we stayed for a Gonk making workshop which was very successful and we all managed to surprise ourselves!
