After some pretty bad fish and chip cafes in Fife I remembered a visit my wife, daughter, granddaughter and I had to this place. The service was good, the restaurant was very clean and the fish suppers were bang on. Not a hint of grease and the fish still moist and perfectly cooked. Even the tea was decent.

As you come out of the James Herriot building walking towards the square this is the first Cafe you'll come to. You can't miss it on the corner and it's blue and white exterior. The shop is downstairs and the cafe is upstairs. There's a large menu for a small cafe with a lot of choice. I went for a Coronation chicken with mango that came with an onion Bhaji, crisps and fresh salad. Excellent value for £8. It took me a while to eat it all and it was very tasty. It was a really nice place with quick service and very good value for money.

It said welcome on the door but the lady that served me was far from welcoming sour faced bad mannered .asked for sandwich no butter to be told in a sharp tone there is what we've got . All she had to say was sorry no we haven't. I'll be giving the one in thirst a miss from now on . Husband's sandwich was fine 🙂

Took my husband for his birthday. Got his main and dessert free, because it was his birthday (you have to prove it - we saved almost £40). Fish goujons was a bit underwhelming. Crab cakes looked great. Pork loin, and lamb duo was superb. No information was given about the cheeses on the cheese plate. Brilliant evening.

Cafe Nero Thirsk has become a dirty, filthy Coffee shop, not worth visiting !!!! over the past 6 to 12 Months the standards have fallen so far, the only solution is to close it and completely refurbish it!!!! The Chairs and Tables are only fit for the Rubbish Dump!! The walls and floors are dirty and marked.!! The cleaning is very poor and not fit for purpose!!!! The customer toilet is not fit for purpose, it is filthy and certainly unhygienic. The filth around the Doorframe is a breeding ground for God knows what!!! Staff checks are a joke, and more times than not there is no Toilet Roll!!! The food choice isa boring and storage is suspect!!! Staff whilst friendly enough , do not appear to be interested in their workplace and how it looks to customers !!!!

Visited yesterday with my family for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious, chef was clearly passionate and kindly made us some separate vegetarian gravy, and the service (although a bit slow as it was busy) was very friendly and accommodating. They have a beautiful beer garden with a huge koi pond and a kids play area. Really reasonably priced for what you get too.

We stopped here at the Vale of York, sun 13th +Monday 14th Oct, following a wake that was held there for us, the hosts ceejay & Paul, couldn't be more welcoming, and couldn't do enough for us, rooms were clean, beds comfortable, breakfast was very tasty, we came as customers and we are leaving as friends,we will definitely be back, such a welcoming place to be,

Perfect We have been here a couple of times recently once for lunch and dinner. I came for a meal the other week and intended to write this review earlier as I was very impressed by the food, atmosphere and specifically the service. We were served and made feel very welcomed. The food was delicious and came pretty quickly. So all round we had a fab experience and definitely recommend!
