Very rude assistant who ignored me twice and deliberately served the people behind me . Previously she served me cold pasties out of the window, instead of warm ones out of the oven, She has a really bad attitude, a real shame because the older ladies in there use to be really lovely xx . I was the one who walked out and left the bread on the counter. ( just so the other assistants know why ).

Called in at 7.30am in the morning for one of my favourite vegetable pasties and I luckily received a piping hot one straight from the oven. The woman behind the counter was very friendly, I really cannot fault Thomas the baker for value and quality it's always my preferred option to that other big bakery chain!

Twelve months ago I would have given five stars but the place seems to have gone downhill recently. The shelves are empty, and whilst the staff are helpful, the store seems to have deteriorated over the last few months.

Visited here and Malton shop. Great selection of bread and pastries plus take away cobs etc. have lots of offers and well priced

We went into Thirsk shop this morning . I had ready made tuna & celery roll . My wife had ham salad + Chelsea buns . Everything first class & fresh also sensibly priced . We bought a few goodies also to take home to Derbyshire. We look forward to our next visit to Thomas the bakers

Just bought the platters from here. For our golden wedding get together. Excellent lovely and fresh. The staff were very helpful.

We bought a few items, which were okay. Unfortunately, the staff, one in particular, were grumpy and unwelcoming. A little customer traiing would do them no harm.

Carrier bag just placed on high counter along with my purchases. I had a struggle to retrieve and fill the bag, it was very cold and my hands were clumsy as a result. NO HELP FROM ASSISTANT. Thirsk store Tuesday 12th December 22

Very nice bakery, perfect when travelling home from meetings at Seal Sands.

the bacon sandwich and coffee for 3.25 is perfect in the morning. this sells hot pies and a selection of sandwiches also. hot drinks.

Very impressed with the range, the cleanliness and the friendly staff. Covid-19 compliant in a clear but sensible way. I especially liked the choice of Deli Sausage Rolls - plain, or with added Black Pudding. Proper Yorkshire! 😁

the atmosphere was great and the worker were friendly. the food was amazing and it is really positive environment as soon as you walk through the door. loved it! Yum Yums are my fav desert absolutely fabulous.

What a great bakers, very fresh and lovely smell when you enter the shop. The Chelsea buns were massive and lovely the filled rolls were delicious with plenty of filling and our favourite was the cherry bakewell muffins... to die for

I have lived in this town my entire life and recently I have been in a few times and the staff have been nothing but rude and ignorant. Making me feel completely unwelcome and a burden to be in the store, this should not be tolerated, I do not want to come here anymore because of the staff, and I really hope they have some serious attitude adjustment!

I have visited Thomas' twice a week for many years for their lovely bread & custard slices (heaven!)I shop for my family & since this Corona outbreak I would like to say a special thankyou to all the lovely staff who go out of their way to help & are so friendly & full of smiles. I hope their other customers show their appreciation too for they certainly deserve it for staying open & serving the public with such happy faces in what are such difficult times.Thankyou all again.xx

each time we drove into Thirsk and Ripon we called into this shop - beautiful sandwiches cakes and pies etc etc - so clean and the staff were so helpful

Called at thirsk store for a sandwich and as I have a intolerance to dairy asked if a roll could be made with out but a very rude lady answered NO

It's a pity that Thomas the Baker does not have any branches in our locality. When we make our annual visit to Thirsk, we always call in to buy several wholemeal loaves that are delicious and freeze well. The staff in this branch are very friendly as well!

We were spoilt for choice with super selection of cakes on offer, while looking for a present to take back home but settled on a Yorkshire Brack. We couldn’t resist buying Iced Chelsea Buns for ourselves either!

Lovely sausage rolls, cheese & onion bakes, chocolate muffins and Shorty Dunkins. Hot, delicious food, lovely staff and very reasonable prices.

Thomas the Baker is a must stop for the Eccles cakes, no one else filled them as much as TtheB does Service is quick and courteous as well as a great price

This bakery has amazing things to buy always fresh and they look great...perfect for a pack up when out walking. However, they could really do with having some flexibility with their pre made sandwiches..i asked for some cheese put on my ham sandwich and the assistant went in to some kind of panic..eventually having to ask the supervisors permission...i thought better about asking for pickle...but, putting that to one side I would highly recommend this bakery

Very rude staff. Made a mess up serving the wrong item and then saying we had to pay the tiny difference. That was no issue but then they wouldn’t let us pay difference due to minimum spend. Their mistake they should have honoured but instead made us feel like it was our mistake. We ordered simple items and they messed up...their problem.

Absolutely gorgeous food here, best baker I’ve ever tried, wish there was one near me. Enjoyed everything I’ve bought.

Stopped for pre-lunch snack on a sunny Saturday. Plenty of others doing likewise. Good choice of nice bakery products including hot sandwiches and drinks. Nicest food outlet by far on the Market Square - the rest is getting a bit run down.

Called in here on recommendation from The Local Tourist Information Office 03/10/2018. Lovely selection of local produce. I purchased five Yorkshire Parkin cakes for friends on my return home. All very well received and very tasty. Well worth a visit if you are in the town

Best Yorkshire Curd Tarts, they've got awards to prove it. Locally based fresh baked everyday, pretty good sandwiches too, their ciabattas are excellent.

Fresh produce sold at competitive prices. In particular the bread rolls and bread sticks are delicious.

Good window display enticed us inside. Purchased some scone date and walnut was our favorite but cherry/fruit/cheese all very nice. Yorkshire curd tarts lovely. Sun dried tomato bread divine

called in to get some large bread rolls, which we love when having home made burgers, as you can get a burger & chips on the same bread bun!!. Bought 2 packs, one to go in freezer as we don't get up to Thirsk that often and you cant get the same ones form any where else

Love the fresh bread sticks they offer in all different flavours. Great for dipping. Always seem to get there when their sandwiches and rolls start looking a bit tired and curled up round edges so have never tried.

Thomas is a very good Yorkshire bakers. They have a great range of pies and pastries, and do a great range of filled baps. They are also reasonably priced.

Always a good selection of bread and always fresh....the savoury choice including assorted pasties sausage rolls etc..love the savoury rolls....staff always clean and polite but ready for a laugh with the regulars....

Really reasonably priced, a big choice of baked goods - the bread is amazing! We come here at least twice a week! Great for kids :)

Was walking past and my feet lifted off the ground and flew me in to Thomas the bakers honestly (must have been the smell). I tried the corned beef roll and my partner has the chicken and stuffing roll, both of which tasted great and hit the spot. would highly recommend.

We recently went into Thomas The Baker, during a short break in Thirsk. The staff were helpful and polite and we were pleased to be able to purchase local produce.

The cakes and bread here are lovely, curd tart wonderful, early shopping recommended as they go fast.

This branch of a chain of bakery shops in the North of England offers a very good range of products, the tray bakes are especially delicious.

On our annual visit to North Yorkshire it is always great to see that our old friend Thomas The Baker is still selling delicious Baps, Cakes and Snacks, not forgetting the wonderful bread.

Purchased a steak bake and a Chelsea bun for my lunch. Both tasted very fresh and nice. Plenty of choice in here and the staff are friendly. Definitely recommend as prices very good.

Called here and bought a cheese and onion pasty and a small yorkshire curd tart for a picnic lunch. The pasty was not too hot and the curd tart was delicious so was well pleased with my lunch. Recommend this place.

The best baker in all of Noryh yorkshire. Based in Helmsly but delivered all over. Thirsk is our shop, the best sticky, creamy cakes in the land. Can not get through my Saterday sport woth out them.

We always buy some sandwiches and cakes from here when in Thirsk. Its all fresh and homemade. Do try the hot sausage rolls!

It smells good and satisfies your daily bread intake. The cheese scones are great! You can get most of your shopping needed.

This is part of a regional bakery shop chain rather than a restaurant. It does provide a wide range of takeaway ready to eat and take home bakery products. This includes sandwiches, savoury and sweet items and artisan bread. We purchased some products to take home and the quality was very good, although the specialist bread is better eaten within 24 hours of purchase. An appropriate overall rating for Thomas the Baker is "Good" as is the independent alternative it provides.to the multiple retailers..

This is another branch of Thomas the Baker. I wished we lived closeer then we could enjoy the delicious bread and the vast selection of freshly made filled baps more often. I can recommend the Custard Tarts! The staff here were friendly and efficient.

Had steak bake and a cake...hubby had small pizza and a cake...sat on the monument in the square....in the sun!!

We bought tuna and celery ciabata,s yummy, cheese and leek quiche, vegetable pasty, and a chicken and stuffing roll and they were all delicious and the lady that served us was really pleasant and friendly.

The best blackberry tarts in the country are found here. Any visit to Thirsk for us means a trip to hunt out Thomas's for the tarts! (and the yum yums for the kids!) Staff are friendly too

We stop here for bread and cakes as both are delicious and served freshly baked. The staff are always efficient and friendly. Keep the freshly baked bread in a paper bag and it will not go soggy but remain crispy.!
