Caffe Nero in Hambleton

Cafe Nero Thirsk has become a dirty, filthy Coffee shop, not worth visiting !!!! over the past 6 to 12 Months the standards have fallen so far, the only solution is to close it and completely refurbish it!!!! The Chairs and Tables are only fit for the Rubbish Dump!! The walls and floors are dirty and marked.!! The cleaning is very poor and not fit for purpose!!!! The customer toilet is not fit for purpose, it is filthy and certainly unhygienic. The filth around the Doorframe is a breeding ground for God knows what!!! Staff checks are a joke, and more times than not there is no Toilet Roll!!! The food choice isa boring and storage is suspect!!! Staff whilst friendly enough , do not appear to be interested in their workplace and how it looks to customers !!!!

Filthy place with soiled chairs that need throwing out and burning. Food on floor and sticky tables. Decaf tea tasteless and weak. Staff do their job but not over friendly or appearing to be happy.

Lovely place to sit and relax with your favourite beverage. And the baristas are great.

Caffè Nero in Thirsk is a spacious and smart branch of the chain. Service was very good as were our coffees and Amaretto mince pies.

Good coffee but once again the place is not very clean and the toilets do need more regular cleaning The staff are working hard and they have no time to properly look after the cleaning side of the business

Always met with smile, nothing is ever too much hassle, really good staff. I take my dog in most of the time and he seems to like it too ... ..🐾.

Good coffee and a warm refuge from inclement weather

Cafe Nero is our preferred high street coffee chain. Love the toasties, coffee is stronger than Starbucks and Costa. Dog friendly. Thirsk cafe is always clean and has space. Vitality Health users can get a free weekly drink and 25% off food or 50% off healthy options.

Staff very friendly and coffee good. However I have been in several times recently and always the same issue - dirty tables and foodstuff under tables and in general floor areas. The staff do remove empty cups etc from the tables but I watched and they do not then wipe the tables nor clean up around tables. TBH it’s looking a very dirty shop and cleaning standards are extremely poor and have been for some time. Needs some management intervention and close monitoring.

Nice cafe located in the middle of the village. Coffee is good, but location is nothing special.

Lovely place to stop for a quick cuppa, cake/ or light lunch. Very clean polite+helpful staff. Maybe needs a few more lights,seemed a little dull in there.

A very friendly Yorkshire coffee house in Thirsk

Not a bad cup of coffee for a chain if you choose their Brazilian blend. The shop itself just looks a bit grubby and the person serving was a bit robotic but then maybe that's what working in a coffee shop like this eventually does to you.

A spacious and pleasant Caffe Nero considering that Thirsk is not a large town. A nice stop off if you're driving by.

Disappointed with a luke warm coffee and obviously not cheap here. Couldn't take it back as we were travelling.

Very clean. Service from the two young servers was very clinical, no passion and not the hint of a smile. It was almost as if they didn’t want the customers to be there. The customer in front of me also commented about it.

Lovely coffee. Comfy cafe. Nice vibe. Shame that the staff bashed, clattered and slammed their way through our visit... couldn't hear each other past the noise of the washing up and setting out fresh cups and glasses. Everything had to be dropped or chucked from some kinda distance. Such a shame... it could've been lovely. And yeah, we did politely mention it at the time ... made it worse not better 🤦‍♀️

Was completely astounded that this chain have the audacity to charge 20p extra for a Decaf Coffee, where all other coffee chains and outlets charge the same whether you have ordinary coffee or decaf coffee. Even after drinking it I wasnt impressed, Costa is far much better than this chain. The shop itself wasnt bad, I have been in worse. Definitely would not go there again as/when I visit Thirsk. Would rather go without.

I use Caffe Nero were I live which is excellent.but i was visiting my daughter in Thirsk so I tried the Caffe Nero there and was very disappointed every table was full of cups and trays plus food.the young lad didn't seem to know what to do and the girl was too busy talking with some girls so I didn't get anything to eat or drink

Would rather stand and laugh at a disabled person struggling with to carry a tray then offer to help. Then not 2 seconds later come out from behind the counter anyway. Completely appalling behaviour from the two girls on today. Never been so embarrassed in my life. To the point of near tears and wanting to drink up as fast as I could and go.

The only toilet was in a very poor condition. The plastic toilet seat was damaged and was old and very shoddy. The whole room serving male, female and disabled customers was nothing short of disgusting.

We visit Thirsk quite often and use this centrally located branch of Cafe Nero as our preferred option for a coffee break. This is a roomy and attractive cafe and service and standards of cleanliness etc are consistently good.

I went in with the intention of paying cash. There was no signs or notices on the way in to say it was card only. They said we can’t accept cash as we don’t have the facilities for it. Yet there was a staff tip cup full of change all CASH. They’ll happily take whatever goes in their pocket but i couldn’t pay by cash at the till. My Finace got her hot chocolate for free as they already made it and i couldn’t pay cash. It was disgusting. Asked for cream on top and it tasted and smelt like cream cheese. Probably out of date IMO. Should at least have a sign saying card payments only before wasting people’s time. We had a full morning shopping in Thirsk and this was the first place that was cashless. Such an inconvenience.

No evidence that they using track and trace. Not good. Also is it really safer to use paper bags and cups than crockery? Dishwashers are recommended! Cake and coffee fine but put me off the chain.

Nice visit as always BUT it is rediculas that there is only one person on during the last hour of trading, be ashamed, Nero management.

Fab place. I went in for a take away coffee this morning. Tracy was lovely. She cheered me up also the best Americano I've had in a long time. The place was absolutely spotless. 10/10 for the staff here.

Staff seem to be overwhelmed. My friend and I sat in Caffè Nero for about 2 hours not once did we see anyone cleaning any tables or generally doing any cleaning. No hand wash in the bathroom. We sat in, but nobody took our details for track and trace I had to go look for the signage myself. Wouldn’t be returning while everything with Covid is still at large.

A lovely cafe in the centre of Thirsk. Although it’s a chain, and I normally prefer going to individual cafes, the place was very well staffed with competent servers. The tables are well spaced out, so not getting the feeling of being overpowered by other guests. Would definitely recommend.

Nice coffee and friendly staff.... love the fact its dog friendly too but it was fairly warm outside and they had the heating on full and with a big glass frontage it was far too hot inside... would have had 5 stars otherwise.

Great cafe with lots of areas to sit. I am in a wheelchair and they couldn't have done more to help if they tried. My son wanted to pop to Boots and they said all I had to do was shout and they would see to my needs also he asked them if I could have a mug of tea and they made me a pot of tea already with the milk in so all I had to do was pour. I got 3 cups from one pot it was great.

Caffe Nero is a place I would like to come back to, if only for the fact that the serving staff is friendly and accurate. The Cappucinoes were great and my slice of cake was awesome. The extra whipped cream on top made my day. Thanks Nero.

The coffee was excellent but chairs were filthy with food in crevices, stained upholstery, walls dirty, floor dirty, some sofas and chairs in poor condition I think environmental health should visit

Had Breakfast great choice nice food, would be nice if fruit juices were included Restaurant was very quiet and relaxing.

The food on offer is standard for caffe nero but look around you might not be so impressed. Very dirty inside windows even dirtier plastic screens around the food area and what about the thick dust on the picture frame near the air conditioning unit....not been cleaned for ages i think. And another annoyance on this visit most table where taken but one table for 4 had a laptop and one coffee on it but nobody at the table after 10 minutes the person returned who turned out to be a member of staff!!! Not very considerate shame on you give more thought to your customers next time.

Nice coffee good staff and comfy chairs when you can get them

As Cafe Nero is my coffee chain of choice, I have visited many, and was very impressed with this one. The main seating area is large and very nicely decorated. It also feels very “roomy” as they have avoided the temptation of putting more tables and chairs in every available space. Service was polite and very friendly.

This is by far the best Caffe Nero I've ever been in! Clean & tidy even when busy! Kelly (Manager) Alison (Assistant Manager) & Mollie (Barista) are amazing! Great customer service & always go above and beyond! Excellent drinks & food at good prices! Thirsk has an abundance of coffee shops but I always only use Nero! I am not a fan of coffee shops Mainly because I only drink tea and also because they are very overpriced and usually patronised by self opinionated Coffee "connoisseurs". BUT on Sunday needing a break from driving back from Manchester we stopped in Thirsk and saw the Cafe Nero and decided to pop in. I have to say both my Breakfast tea and my wife's Peppermint tea were spot on, the cakes of course are not cheap but they were exceptionally good. It is a nicely set out laid back place with comfortable seating, Window seat was ideal for people watching. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and although I dont really like Coffee shops, We will visit again. !

Excellent place to meet friends

This is a fantastic little Caffè Nero that, at first glance, looks quite small. Looks can be deceiving though as it goes back and back and back. The coffee is typical Nero, a decent blend but nothing massively special. The staff here are incredibly friendly though and certainly seem to know their stuff. One of the things that set it apart is the massive collection of books that are around the perimeter.
