Very good service. Decent food. Good prices.

Right in the centre of Thirsk in the Market Place - I was staying locally and not booked in for breakfast there and had gone swimming and then doing other things afterwards and called in for breakfast only Lovely surroundings and great setting Help yourselves to cereals etc, juice and toast - hot breakfast done to order (fresh and local) Staff were great, friendly and helpful Breakfast only £16

Looks impressive from the outside and once you go in that impressiveness does not fade. Great drink selection, I enjoyed it here.

If a hotel bar is open, then it should be staffed, right? Not always the case at the Golden Fleece - they open it in the afternoon then leave customers to go and seek out the huffy receptionist to leave her post and come and get you a drink. Later, another woman did appear but, when I asked her what what vodkas were stocked, explained the gins. I'd have thought knowing the difference between vodka and gin is a pretty fundamental requirement for bar work.... The young lads who staff the bar later in the evening are spot on, but this hotel shows disdain for early drinkers. Breakfast was good overall - apart from the bacon which was hard and pretty much all fat. Mews rooms much nicer and quieter than the rooms in the main hotel building.

Only called in for lunch, very good service and style

The staff make this hotel , from the boss to the cleaners - they are exemplary Location bang in the middle of town A breakfast which is sublime and to think James Herriot drank in this very place Love the hotel and visit at least 4 times a year

Maybe a nice location for a coffee or a drink but don't use the restaurant! Food is appalling and over priced not recommend at all!

We had a delightful gime at the Golden Fleece Hotel and Restaurant in Thirsk. The charming atmosphere and warm hospitality made our visit truly memorable. Lovely family meal. The setting of the restaurant is fantastic right in the centre of Thirsk. We had starters, mains and desserts all were very tasty and well presented. There is lots of choice for adults and kids. All was freshly prepared. Would recommend for lunch or evening meal.

We were allocated a Mews room. Whilst the room was clean and nicely decorated it was tiny. Not enough room for a wardrobe and the bathroom was only just big enough for a cloakroom sink and that even crossed over with the toilet. The walls are paper thin and whilst I don't think the residents next to us were being particularly loud we could clearly hear ALL their evening activities. I wouldn't stay again and would advise anyone who does stay to not accept a Muse room. Another member of our team was allocated a room in the main hotel and whilst the room was more basic it was an acceptable size and no disturbances from fellow residents.

Delicious meal. Three excellent courses. Everything was impeccable. The wine list is always good. The service was delightful. Reasonably priced. Very happy.

Fantastic overnight seeing friends. Lovely room with excellent adornments including cosmetics, drinks and quality info packs. Staff were amazing.

Stay, five stars for each category says it all. Nothing was any trouble for the staff. They were all very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless maybe a little on the small side but only to be expected in an old coach house. We ate in both nights the evening meals and breakfasts were both spot on. I would definitely recommend staying at the Golden Fleece, Thirsk.

Lovely place to grab a quick cuppa and a piece of shortbread. Central to the town and very warm and welcoming.

Excellent location!!! Good and friendly staff. The meals in the restaurant were superb and a very wide choice…just couldn’t fault the place. The room we had had a great view over the market place so was great for people watching, it was very clean too. Give it a try I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

Jim was fantastic - we had been emailing a lot of changes to our booking (adding on rooms etc) and he was amazing at getting back to us. He was also so accommodating while we were there especially as we are new parents. We would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. The food was amazing the rooms were great. Only thing I would ask the hotel to consider is better pillows.

Another visit to the Golden Fleece this is one of the best dog friendly hotels that we have found. Exelent friendly service from all the staff. Lovely bedroom with a few of the market square we dinned in the bar area on the evening as dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant. Good evening, meal. I stayed the hotel with my GF after a recommendation from a friend. The hotel is in a great location with free car parking to the rear of the hotel. The bar is also a big highlight that the hotel has to offer, with a large section of beers, local ales and wines with lots of comfortable areas to relax. The room we stayed in (room 23) was excellent! The bed was soooo comfortable with great extras like a DAB radio, Smart TV and a posh coffee machine. The breakfast was first class with everything on offer and to a high quality. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in this region.

STAY Had a gorgeous Sunday Lunch, service and quality was 5 star. The member of staff in charge remembered us, Louise I think if I’ve remembered properly, we had to cancel previously due to the weather but she welcomed us in which was a lovely touch. Considering staying over one weekend, go for a walk come back for a lovely meal and then go up to what look like beautiful rooms.

We booked the Christmas Package what can I say ? Room was nice modern but so hot it was like the amazon. We had the window open all night to no avail, food very disappointing, seriously poor 34 pounds for a bottle of wine that we sent back it was so bad. Should have had christmas lunch in weatherspoons. Sort it out Golden Fleece, tired and mediocre at best.

Lovely welcoming entrance. Which clearly stated dogs welcome. This was really helpful and meant we did not have to find someone to ask. We sat in a lovely lounge eating area..immediately felt comfortable and relaxed. We ordered food and drinks which were a mix of traditional and specials. The food was fantastic and portion size extremely generous. Prices were very reasonable also. All the staff were very chatty and helpful and they fell in love with our little dog Penelope. We could of happily stayed alot longer especially after I had tried the snow bomb cocktail. Shame we had to set off back to our holiday accommodation. 10/10. Thank you. Hope to return if ever in the area again.

Took my husband for his birthday. Got his main and dessert free, because it was his birthday (you have to prove it - we saved almost £40). Fish goujons was a bit underwhelming. Crab cakes looked great. Pork loin, and lamb duo was superb. No information was given about the cheeses on the cheese plate. Brilliant evening.

Sunday roast is top notch with car parking at the rear and large public parking to the front and rear The Hotel is a historic inn located in the market town of Thirsk in North Yorkshire. It has a rich history, charming atmosphere, and traditional English character. The inn dates back several centuries and is said to be one of the oldest coaching inns in England. The Hotel is a popular destination for tourists looking to experience a bit of history.

We paid extra to stay in a premium deluxe double room (11) which was a complete waste of money as it looked nothing like the two rooms advertised at this level. In our opinion it was an okay room but definitely not Deluxe. The bathroom advertised at this level has a lovely free standing bath and ours was a very small cheap bath. I’ve attached photos to give an idea but sorry for the un-made bed! The breakfast was below average and as we were staying for three nights this was extremely disappointing. I don’t like eggs and there was nothing that didn’t have eggs as part of the main breakfast dish. I had an English breakfast everyday without eggs and very cheap sausages, bacon and black pudding full of fat. This area is renowned for its fish why not have kippers or smoked salmon and some lovely avocado toast. Our friend stayed in the annex which had a burn mark on the carpet and both of the bedside tables had no handles as they had been broken off. The main areas in the hotel were nicely decorated and maybe other rooms were better than ours but our room was average. It’s the only hotel in Thirsk and its main feature is its location but it’s definitely not 4 star.

Great overnight stay well worth a visit

A enjoyable experience overall. Visited one evening for a meal. Staff seated us on some very comfy chairs and told us which items were available (the lamb and steak were both off the menu which was unfortunate as we were planning to have them but it was late in the evening so it's expected that some items maybe sold out) We each settled for the chicken burger and I had the beef burger. Both very tasty and sizeable. The staff were attentive throughout the meal. The only issue came at the end of the meal. There were no staff present in the dining room for around 20 minutes, I wished to pay so had to walk around looking for a staff member but was unsuccessful. I went to the bar where one member of staff was training another younger person in cocktail making. Me and a couple of other customers stood there for around 10 minutes being ignored. I understand that training is being carried out but at least acknowledge me and say something. In the end, this didn't tarnish the experience too much, the meal was reasonably priced and overall we had a great time.

Small plate but really - TEN whitebait! Couldn’t believe how few there were. Lovely batter but disgraceful quantity for £7.95 - I have never been served with so few. Left hungry and bought a sausage roll at a nearby bakery

We had a very comfortable room with good facilities. We slept very well. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly. We had a great breakfast and a delicious dinner in the restaurant. The beer was also very good. All in all we were very satisfied, the price was fair and we would be happy to come back.

Wonderful stay over, will come again.

A lovely hotel to stay when visiting Thirsk situated in the main town square . Everybody is very welcoming , friendly & helpful . A special thank you to Isabel & Jodie in the restaurant / bar . Lovely breakfast & evening meal . We really enjoyed our 2 night stay .

We have stayed here several times before, referred people and took friends with us on this occasion. Previously always had a good experience but on this occasion we were allocated room 7 which has got to be the smallest room we have ever been in. It literally is like a harry potter cupboard. On the last visit we had checked out behind a couple who were complaining about the size of their room which they had been in for quite a few days. We thought they were moaning minis but having now experienced this room there is no way we would have spent more than 1 night in it. The worst of it was also the sheer heat. It was so hot neither of us slept at all! They left a fan in the room and we opened the window as much as possible but the temp was no lower than 28• that was when it was raining outside as well. When advising of this it was said a) cant help the heat b) the room is what it is well a) you could install air conditioning or put mobile units in the rooms (although where it would fit in the harry potter cupboard) b) this room should not be charged at the same rate as the other rooms

It has been a group of us approx 16 people. The food has been tasteless, presented poorly and the service very slow...we have started at 7.20pm ish and received the main at 8.30pm even when we preordered! 2 of us have been missed of the menu. At the end the panna cotta had a strange taste, far too much gelatine, terrible texture, could not taste any of the described flavours. £30 for 2 course meal I have left the restaurant hungry and disappointed.

Went for a short break ideal central location with pleasant staff and breakfast was loverly.Nice touch was a fan in the room as it was really 🔥 hot

Called for drinks only and enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. My real ale was off but it was exchanged no problem and with an apology by the courteous staff. Happily spent an hour here.

Stayed The Golden Fleece this week, we were extremley pleased with all aspects of our stay, We were met by Jim the manager who we found very helpful and freindly, the room was the Dick Turpin suite and although it was excellent, the 3 flights of stairs was sometimes hard on the old knees, the food was great breakfast service was second to none, in all great value for money, would definatly stay again.

Three of our group had fish 2 in bread bun one child fish bites lovely crisp batter but the tiniest piece of fish not even the size of little finger the tartan sauce was more capers than anything and they put a large dollop in the roll suggest they ace on side if plate the other 3 meal were OK but not as good as it was 6 month ago

We have just arrived back from a few days stopover at this hotel . Had a wonderful time ! The check in staff were friendly and the room was perfect for us. Beds were comfy and although we were overlooking the outside side bar we didn’t get any noise disturbance. We were lucky enough to get a free parking space at the back of the hotel . There are plenty of walks from the hotel if you like walking😊. A choice of pubs and places to eat . We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel but we did have breakfast . The breakfast’s were delicious! The homemade granola was really tasty! All staff pleasant and smiley . Would definitely return !

I was there for my 80th birthday celebration with family and friends. There was so much food that everyone took doggy bags home. The food was delicious. The staff were amazing. The ambience was superb. Thank you for making the night so special.

Lovely hotel, the staff are brilliant here, went with our Guide dog pup in training and were meant to feel very welcome, we'll definitely stay here in the future.

The mews rooms were so beautiful & very cozy and as a menopausal woman, the fan was an absolute god send it really was. The food & breakfast were very tasty, especially loved the sausages at breakfast. The staff couldn't do enough for us, very pleasant and helpful

Service is great, the pub is nice and it's large, lots of different places to sit. The golden fleece benefits from a nice outside space with beer garden. The staff are friendly and they welcome dogs. The drinks are expensive, but it's a nice place to relax and enjoy a quiet drink.

Had a room in the mews very nice and clean, quiet and well situated. The full English next morning was worth it's worth in gold. The girls in the breakfast room were brilliant. Will do it again next year

What a fantastic place to stay in Thirsk. Wonderful decor. So charming everywhere. Quiet hotel at night. They went out of their way the day I left to send a meal with me since I missed breakfast. So kind. Very helpful staff getting the luggage up the stairs.

A great place to lay your head, just a two night visit.

Old building so rooms have some quirks. Temperature kept on the high side. Food not bad but not exceptional. Wife had veg side that came in a metal container burning her fingers.

I visited the Golden Fleece for a one night stay with my partner whilst visiting Hambleton the following morning. We arrived at the hotel in the evening and were greeted by a lovely lady who checked us in and made us feel most welcome. We were given a complimentary upgrade to another room which was a lovely touch. The room itself was clean and welcoming with a modern bathroom. The location is wonderful, right on the square with numerous local shops and cafes. The breakfast was excellent and the service very efficient and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Yorkshire.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Good location

This hotel has a rather old-fashioned feel to it - and I mean that very much as a compliment! Little jugs of milk, handmade butter pats, individual jars of sauces - so much better than the one-portion sachets that blight many a hotel table these days. Good range of drinks at the bar, a number of lounges you can choose to sit in and a really big commutable super king-size bed with walk-in shower. Breakfast one of the best we've had - piping hot and really tasty.

Visited as a large group whilst staying in Yorkshire. Booked a table with no issues. On arriving we had a drink at the bar and then were showed to our table. The environment was well styled and pleasant. Since we were a large group we had been asked to pre order starters and mains which was not a problem for us. The food arrived and was nicely presented with everyone’s order correct. I had opted for a Sunday lunch which was good quality unfortunately the only disappointment was the absence of crackling with my pork which was advertised on the menu. All the party was happy with the various starters, mains and desserts. We didn’t feel rushed, we had been told in advance that our booking was for an allocated length of time which for some may be off putting, however, our time was adequate. Parking is right outside for all of the shops including the pub and is paid. One large negative was the staff, other than one staff member who I found to be polite and friendly the others were brusque and seemed unhappy in their working environment to the point I felt a little uncomfortable interacting with them. This was a shame as it spoiled the overall experience.

Absolutely terrible staff asked for table to be wiped down as covered in milk very rude man from behind the bar said lift your drinks no please and in in a very abrupt manner , we were two couples and one couple had finished their very small portion of food before other couple got theirs ! Expensive small portion of food and poor service

Called in for lunch, but NEVER again. Ordered sandwiches, a round of chips and coffee. When it arrived there was very little filling, the bread was old and starting to go crisp with age. The round of chips at £3.95 was a total ripoff! 12 chips in a small container that were dry, and no doubt frozen ones! The coffee cups were just over half full, and for £3.75 i expected more. Plus the cups were very small. This has to be the worst place we’ve eaten, and was totally “fleeced” by the high prices. Utter disgrace.

Went for lunch the service was terrible waitress apauling i had to ask her to take are order she wasn’t pleasant at all we then had to ask for are drinks the meal took ages to come we had to bolt it down as we was park on a two hour meter another member came onwhihwe no as we are regulars there and she came over to see if all was ok and i told her no terrible she apalagised did not like it at all we have been coming for a long time we wil think again before coming shocking waste of money

Less is less here. The vegetables are nothing but a token gesture a smear of leek which looks terrible on the plate similar to sick. Half teaspoon of soggy cabbage half teaspoon of lumpy tasteless swede of which could all fit on my fork together the fork for comparison and oh it was served to us cold Absolute rip off £16.95 Sunday Lunch. We were having a three night stay here and ate in the restaurant on our first night. We weren’t ravenous so we each ordered two starters, rather than a starter and a main. First course for both of us was mushroom soup which we really enjoyed. However, the actual bowls were small so, obviously, the portion size was small which was disappointing and smacked of penny pinching; at more than £6, it wasn’t particularly cheap and I actually found eating from the small bowls to be off-putting. I did mention this to staff at the time, purely as constructive feedback and not as a complaint I followed with smoked chicken Caesar salad, which also came with anchovies as well as cheese (I chose not to have croutons), and it was delicious and full of flavour. A really decent portion size too! My friend had köfte kebabs with mint & cucumber dressing, along with toasted pitta bread and she thoroughly enjoyed that too. Ambience was good and service was very good too, despite the restaurant being busy. I’d love to give full marks but, unfortunately, the meal was slightly let down by the stingy soup serving.

Always nice but didnt like it this time food was all on one plate and swimming with gravy will ask for it all separate next time we like are veg in separate dishes and gravy to very poor hopefully next time we come which is once a month it will be better

My wife is an avid watcher of The Yorkshire Vet and I as a kid watched All Creatures Great And Small so a trip to Thirsk seemed like the thing to do. The Golden Fleece hotel is ideal for a stay in Thirsk with excellent rooms superb food and very friendly staff and a added bonus of its own car park.I would highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Thirsk.

Although we enjoy visiting The Golden Fleece..a beautiful place the food was very disappointing. The houmous lacked the cumin and was quite chunky.Risotto rice was equally stodgy with no flavour at all with a few pieces of butternut squash.The goats cheese was the only flavour.My husband however enjoyed all his courses..guess I picked the short straw.

We ate here on a Monday evening. I had the fish and my husband had the pie. Both meals were very nice, the staff were smart and friendly. The place is stylish and very clean

Booked a table in the bar area online in advance which was really easy. When we arrived they showed us to our table. Everything was clean and comfortable. Service was good, with drinks and food arriving quickly. Two of us had Sunday roasts, one chicken and one pork. Both were delicious with a huge Yorkshire pudding! The other person in our group had a pie which was also delicious. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was also excellent. Highly recommend the food and service - brilliant for a Sunday roast and catch up with a friend.

The golden fleece is a lovely place and the staff in general are good. We booked a meal for our family on the 30th Dec. The staff were great getting our order sorted out but when our meal eventually arrived we were nearly all disappointed....

Stayed in the hotel 1st breakfast the staff was very frosty food and waiting time was shocking, eggs royale - eggs was solid and the muffin like cardboard, full breakfast was standard. No orange juice & glasses when we asked we was made to feel...

The hotel is very nice room was lovely just a few niggles. The hot was not very hot at so had a shower instead was looking forward to a lovely hot bath after a long walk. At least 3 items on main menu not available...

We stayed in the Dick Turpin room where apparently he once stayed, a very cool room with everything we could need. All staff were amazing and helpful and constantly fussing our dog and feeding him treats. Few issues with food and drinks as they were...

Lovely staff, waited a while for order but that was fine because it was freshly cooked. Hubby had steak and I had Caesar salad both very tasty. Breakfast the next morning was super too, lovely sausage and black pud nicely presented. Would certainly recommend.

Called here after visiting York the Golden Fleece looked lovely the deco was lovely and looked like a lovely place for lunch what a mistake to make I ordered the Herb fed Yorkshire chicken supreme with a bearnaise sauce it was awful the chicken itself...

Popped in for a drink before going to the races and was very impressed so booked a table for food afterwards, so pleased we did, The Fish and Chips was absolutely delicious and great value for money, the Sticky Toffee pudding incredible and the Taste...

for some reason you can't eat in England between 4pm and 5pm unless you go to a large chain. we arrived in Thirsk, having not found lunch/tea in other villages. this hotel was open for business and we had a very nice tea with food...

Turned up on a busy Saturday night, but had a nice meal and were well looked after, with a pudding to follow, well full. Thank you

Due to looking for somewhere to eat. We decided to try the golden fleece. They was a lady adjusting the menu notice board outside. I didn't think to look at the menu first. I just asked if it was booking or walk ins also. She kindly invited us in. We had to follow to covid institutions before taken to a table. We was given a menu. I looked at the menu and obviously the price of meals. My friend was paying who said don't worry about the cost. So I didn't think about it. However if I was paying I wouldn't of stayed. I just thought it better be worth it. A waiter came to take our drinks order while we still decided what to have. I decided to have fish chips and mushy peas. After awhile waiting our meals arrived. I have to say you got a good plate full. The fish and chips was ok. Although I've had better at cheaper restaurants. I would call again, for drinks only. Just for the fact the meals are over priced.

I popped in the other day for a mid morning hot drink and was not disappointed. The ladies on the reception desk were very helpful and I was taken to a beautiful lounge area with lovely decor. I was served very promptly and ordered a hot chocolate with toppings. It was really delicious. I would love to come back some time to eat here to sample more of the menu

Ate here for lunch and also breakfast the following day. Everything that we ate was delicious, the portion sizes were great and the service was amazing. The food was cooked incredibly well and tasted like great quality ingredients. We found the prices very reasonable, and the atmosphere and environment was great. Thanks a lot!

We both chose the Crab Tian to start with. This was followed by a mouth watering Steak for my partner and Roast Duck for myself. All the accompaniments were cooked and presented to the highest standards. All of this was accompanied by a wonderful rich and warming Rioja. We finished off with a cheese board. The evening was only enhanced by Jodie and Andrea, our hosts in the restaurant. They were both attentive, engaging and knowledgeable about the offer without being over-bearing. The ladies turned a memorable meal into a perfect evening. Well done to all the staff, we will be returning soon.

Fantastic hotel. Great service, brilliant staff and very Covid safe.Brilliant location . Thirsk old market town is lovely. James Herriot museum is 5 minute stroll from the hotel. Thirsk has the best dog friendly cafe that I have ever been to called Bliss. Thirsk is so close to lots of interesting places. The hotel is dog friendly too.

We stayed at the Golden Fleece for 2 nights. We mostly enjoyed ourselves,but the covid virus meant everyone had to mask up,and stay away from others.We stayed in room 23 in the annex, for the second time. In future i will try and get a downstairs room. The staff are really lovely, especially the Rumanian waitress, she was so pleasant.We will definitely go back again for a 3rd visit.

Unfortunately the fact that the food is good is overshadowed by the manager and some of the staff (not all) who are so rude and un welcoming its not worth bothering to visit.COACHING INNS YOU NEED TO GET RID OF THESE IGNORANT STAFF BEFORE THEY RUIN YOUR BUSINESS.

As a local visited tonight for evening meal - surroundings are nice especially eating outside however for £46 pounds this was the worst meal I have had for a very long time .. come on guys get your act together..

We decided to come and have a meal here as it was mine and my partner's anniversary, and we have recently moved to Thirsk so my family wanted a get together after not having seeing much of each other during the current pandemic. If only I'd read the other tripadvisor reviews first I would have been saved the pain of coming here and gone elsewhere.Firstly, I called to book and the lady on the phone said we couldn't sit on one table as there were over 7 of us - I said this should be fine but how far apart would we be and she made a snarky remark about putting the other table outside. At this point the unnecessary sarcasm made me reluctant to book, but it wasn't me who wanted to go here so made reservations anyway. Turns out the tables we were on were very far apart, with a gap so big we couldn't converse with the family on the other table - Other tables who weren't together were sat closer together than we were! Not great for the catch up it was meant to be.My partner and I arrived and there were people waiting to be seated as the host was on the phone, which was absolutely fine until she came to serve the people in-front who couldn't stop telling us all in the queue behind how she was the staff members mum. They had a carry on pretending to look for the reservation, and the staff member saying she needed her phone number at which the mum turned round to us all laughing 'hahah can you BELIEVE my own daughter doesn't know my phone number?!' - none of us cared, the queue was growing and we just wanted our seats. The staff member went to seat the table and left us standing at the host station for nearly 10 minutes. I get that you want to speak to your family, but it was prime dinner time (7pm) and there was a large queue at the door - booking or not, if my family hadn't already been inside I would have turned around and left at this point.We finally got our seats and the server asked straight away if we wanted to order, I thought she was joking. My partner asked for a drink and I managed to get the words 'May I...' out of my mouth before she turned round and walked off. 10 minutes later a different server came to take our order and I was staggerig at how expensive the food was! The menu even bragged about how they were passing the 5% tax cut onto us so god knows how expensive it was before. Most of us just ordered a salad as we couldn't justify paying £15-£20 for a main meal (with the eat out to help out for a main, drink and dessert it came to £20pp so it should have been £30pp). The woman taking our order moved on so fast that we had to go back round and clarify things on our order (my mum ordered garlic bread and she went 'next' to the next person without clarifying whether it was with or without cheese, and my sister didn't want a bun on her burger but didn't get chance to say and then the server was massively frustrated when we had to go back and say 'just to clarify I want to garlic bread with cheese etc. If someone orders garlic bread is it not normal to ask 'with or without cheese?' when you have 2 versions on the menu?) My partner ordered the steak as he figured if he was going to have to pay so much for something he didn't want he may as well pay £2-£3 more and get this. The only option he was allowed was 'pink or well-done' - not a sign the chefs know what they're doing if you can't order the regular steak options of rare, med-rare, medium etc. or can you just not be bothered with the complaints if they get it wrong? Pink or well-done is nice and safe.Anyway the drink that I ordered with the mains arrived, my partner still didn't have his so had to ask for it again - the first server that walked off obviously didn't put it through. The mains arrived and the portions were SO small, the salad I got was still £11 but it was mixed leaf, about 5 balls of bocconcini & 3 springs of asparagus. The garlic bread seemed to be missing the garlic and the cheese, it was more just oily baked pizza dough. My sisters burger without the bun came just as a burger patty and piece of bacon - no salad or sauces so she had to ask for this, again massively inconveniencing the different server we now had.We ordered desserts and they forgot to bring one, so we all had to sit and wait without spoons whilst they made the other dessert, brought it out and then remembered we hadn't been brought spoons.Then to top it off I had to go up and get someone to bring us the bill, as as soon as our desserts were out not another staff member came near us, and they had put another tables desserts and drinks on our bill.100% would not go back or recommend, I wanted to get up and leave multiple times and the staff all give the impression they are too good to work in the service industry (which they probably are because they're not very good at it). I typically have tripadvisor to leave good reviews as I have always worked in the food&bev industry and know how frustrating it is that most people only use it to post negative reviews, and I really wasn't going to do this but the meal was a week ago and I'm still so annoyed about it. I paid double what I wanted to even with the £10 off pp and to be honest I regret that we even left a tip. Not. Good.

Room was OK bar very overpriced. Staff were good, but stuck to government guidelines even if that meant walking right through the hotel to go 10 feet.

My partner and I ate here tonight for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was great, very peaceful and relaxed. The service was fantastic and our waitresses were attentive but not over bearing. Louise (I believe is the correct name) was especially lovely to speak to and interact with throughout the evening. We were advised of a longer wait for our food which was no problem and when the food arrived it was delicious. I had the pan friend trout and it really was perfect. They also have a great selection of wines. Would highly recommend and will dine again
