The best restaurants in Thirsk Hambleton Yorkshire and The Humber

We have been for cocktails after film matinees at the nearby Ritz cinema. The longest cocktail menu I have ever seen and many are unknown to us but equally delicious. Have eaten dinner once and that was good as there are choices to suit everyone. Staff are also lovely. We will continue to go.

Best coffee in Thirsk by a mile, infact the coffee is the best coffee to get full stop! The cappuccino is excellent. The cookies are super! The cupcakes are delicious. Best place to get coffee and cake/cookies/brownies etc

Absolutely fabulous reception from the staff. Quintessentially traditional chippy bringing out the best of Thirsk. Made what was already a deliciously tasty fish & chips even tastier. Highly Recommended

Well, me and my wife and my dog grow up in Sowerby Dalton area and we popped into Thirsk lovely little place but then we did want something to eat. We’ve driven past the Nelson but we weren’t sure so we popped in there was space lovely lady behind the bar Seemed very very busy but found us a lovely spot came over and spoke to us. Think I went for the burger and chips no vegetables if anyone asks have you and Ella allergy? I always say vegetables Not Sure my wife had river I love you dog sat down comfortably. I think a lot of pubs will struggle as this particular small town had a Wetherspoons and we all know Wetherspoons are cheap. I do visit them quite a lot sometimes you just don’t want the atmosphere Said the local atmosphere but the staff very friendly something you don’t really get Wetherspoon. I’m not sure we did and we have a new puppy who is a big labrador cross but located is very nice won’t be in the area again so won’t be visiting will certainly recommend for others some parking outside or we parked down by the river and we could’ve just walked up.

Delicious ploughmans platter, generous portions of excellent quality ham & pastrami, fabulous warm sausage roll with wondeful homemade piccalilli, plus cheese, crisps and colourful tasty slaw. Even the toast and butter on the side was lovely. My wife's cod goujon sandwich was also highly praised. Both are exceptional value. Lovely friendly service complemented our lunch. Superb, thank you.

We called in at the end of a fab walk. The welcome was lovely and the decor was even nicer. Robyn clearly takes real pride. Unfortunately it was raining, so we found ourselves stranded and forced to stay for 4 very enjoyable pints. We're told that food will be available from the end of July. If you're passing then pop in and support this great pub.

Lovely deli and cafe in Thirsk. We went as a group for brunch and had a good fill! As a vegan, I was happy they could adapt the breakfast for me and the tea selection was fab :)

£16.00 for a pot of tea for two and two dry fruit scones with butter. Really disappointed and ridiculously expensive for a cycle cafe.
