Typical pub. Cheers! Nice people and good beer, pool table and beer garden available. We felt very comfortable. I would recommend this pub to anyone looking for an honest authentic pub. Lots of TVs showing sports. I recommend the Theakston Ale, very tasty beer.

Hidden gem on the edge of the city centre with a great selection of hand pulled beers, good food and a lovely beer garden to enjoy in summer! On my visit both the ladies serving behind the bar one lunchtime were friendly, helpful, and smiling, which made a real difference. They made me feel like I was a local....

Absolutely loved this pub. Was in Thirsk for the weekend for the races and staying right across the road so this was our local and we couldn't fault it. We met some characters who we got on very well with a shout out to the hosts their service was great and to a couple of lads Rick and Mark who made us feel very welcome will definitely be returning. Found this place by mistake. Very welcoming and ales were brilliant. Staff looked after us and even offered to drive us to the station. Total strangers but will definitely go back again. Kelly the land lady was a nothing was a problem person. John also couldn't be more friendly. Thanks Cross Keys for your hospitality. Xx

This is easily one of, if not the best local pubs just a stone throw from the town centre. Such a warm and welcoming environment provided by the landlady and her team. Offering horse racing on large screen Tv's, pool table, Juke box, and a good selection of beer. Free car park at the rear. Highly recommended and well worth a visit.

Best pub in town. Great set of locals, especially a good looking chap called Ben who had a great sense of humour and kept everyone entertained not just for the time we were there, but for months afterwards.

Do not miss a local pint after visiting The World of James Herriot: this lovely pub is just across the street, with garden and pool table and welcoming local folks, several were even friends with “Herriot” himself. The guys were super nice to my kid what I am very thankful for. Hope to visit again, until then, you all should!

We found this quiet little pub after escaping the masses at The Three Tuns (the Wetherspoons in Thirsk). Very friendly and a lovely pint of Theakston's. Helpful locals who advised us on navigation through the beautiful surrounding countryside.

It's a Wetherspoons pub. They are always the very best drinking places in town - any town! Good food, guest beers at £1.99, what can be better

Nice little pub with friendly atmosphere

This is a quiet friendly pub. Very much "old school" so don't expect high end flash decor, that said the pub has a certain charm on account of its slightly dated interior.

Walked in, and some bloke said "do you wanna fight?" Avoid.

We had fun the locals were very welcoming they were watching the football in the front while we put the juke box on and played pool. The beer selection is good and the service was good. There is a decent smoking area round the back. I would definetly go back in.
