Excellent coffee, delicious hummus, well run by an efficient team of young women. Only quibble is them letting dogs in! Would recommend (the cage, not the dog!).

What a delight! Not many places you can eat "proper " homemade cakes and scones whilst taking in the views of an old-fashioned cobbled stone marketplace. Took me back to my youth. The little egg timer, which indicates the ultimate time to brew your tea, was a lovely surprise. The staff were very welcoming to 2 non Yorkshire oldies. Only 2 disappointments 1. We already had lunch and could only have cake. 2. This was our last day in Thirsk. But.....we will be back

First time I had been in, and came with my mother. We both had a coffee, sandwich, and a bowl of chips. The mocha that I had was just amazing, and just the right size. I had the ham and piccalilli on white. Which came with a lovely salad (delicious dressing - I should have asked what it was!) And crisps. The chips were piping hot and just amazing - I honestly could have eaten my body weight. The staff were very friendly and the service was prompt and nothing seemed too much trouble. I think I may have found the new place for me to go and take my family when we're all in Thirsk together. I would highly recommend coming here, even if it's to just have a coffee and people watch.

What a lovely little shop we came across. We only went in for a coffee, but the sausage roll with chutney and the plum crumble took our fancy. We were not disappointed, absolutely delicious. We would definitely recommend.a

From opening the door, there was a great warm welcome. Very wet day and great to receive such a welcome. The best, most indulgent toasted sandwiches we have ever had. Didn't get chance to try cakes as so can't wait to go back next time we visit Thirsk. A must for everyone. We need you in Essex !!!

Lovely little cafe overlooking the market square. Yorkshire breakfast was excellent and the staff really friendly. Definitely better than going to some of the bigger chains

Chose this cafe after reading good reviews. Did not disappoint, we both had the full breakfast and it was one of the best we have had. Piping hot and all good quality so tasty. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Cannot wait for our next visit.

Birthday brunch with parents. The Eggs Benedict was stunning, served on a toasted cheese scone with spinach and hollandaise over two beautifully poached eggs and bacon. Better than anything comparable I’ve had in London, mum and dad had big piece of sourdough with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Delicious! Service was great and we’ll definitely be back. My hubby & I had a fabulous breakfast at Tea Time Café today. Such a cosy & beautifully furnished venue, with a great menu & attentive staff. We plumped for the “full Yorkshire” & eggs Benedict,& both were cooked to perfection & tasted amazing! 100% recommended 😊 Just a suggestion - pop a note on the menu to advise customers you provide table service. It was our first visit & we went to the counter to order, unaware we should stay at our table 👍🏼

Pleasant little cafe located at the bottom of the square, found by chance. Clean, bright and cheerful decor. Seating both inside and out. Enjoyed the most amazing pear and toffee cake, generous portion too. Very pleasant cuppa and cake stop. Recommended.

Different decor and music from the Thirsk cafe norm - and in a good way. Outstandingly good smashed avocado /salsa on sourdough and the coffee was very good too.

Thank you Tea Time. We tried a couple of dog friendly cafes but they were full. Thank goodness. The brown sugar scone and chocolate brownie were delicious. A must visit when in the the area.

Great lunchtime food my husband had a breakfast and I had cheese & ham on sourdough with side salad, it was great loved every bit and the side salad was really tasty thank you

There was nothing not to like about this cafe. They serve the breakfast menu until 1430hrs so we both had the small vegetarian breakfast for lunch. It came with 2 veggie sausages, a fried egg, beans, mushrooms and toast. Very enjoyable. The added bonus was that we could take our dog in. Staff couldn’t have been more pleasant and helpful. Will be back next time we are in Thirsk.

Freshly prepared food that is served piping hot. Good attention to detail. First time ever trying a sugar free hot chocolate and loved it!

Great tasting food, freshly made but the premises (for me) lacked atmosphere. I wouldn't call it a cosy cafe but the prices are reasonable and the food is very good. The menu is just large enough to give you a good choice of both food and drink with some quirky items not seen elsewhere which makes for a nice change. Staff were polite and did what was necessary to serve. Little in the way of friendly smiles (which we like) or enthusiasm. Worth a visit? Yes, you won't be wasting your time and it is excellently situated on the main square where there is a huge amount of parking although this can get very busy.

When the side salad is this delicious you know you are onto a good thing.

Great coffee - perfect 'long black' (NZ) and delicious scones. Lovely friendly service. Pretty central village location that was easy to get to from the motorway. Parking was easy too, but may not be if very busy.

Dog friendly café in the centre of Thirsk which was open on Boxing Day. Vegetarian and vegan options available. Good range of drinks. Homemade cakes. Also sells branded range of condiments, hot chocolate, teas etc. The brie and cranberry toastie was good, as was the dark hot chocolate. Would revisit.

Small but very welcoming place to eat & drink. I had toasted tea loaf with butter & cheese. Beautiful! Sue had cherry & coconut scone. We also enjoyed a pot of fresh brewed tea. The friendly waitress was delightful. She is expecting at the end of the month & we wish her well. Clean throughout & a credit to the staff. Thank you.

Amazing breakfast. Highly recommend the croissant French toast which is up there amongst the best breakfasts I ever had. Service was great too - friendly, helpful and great recommendations. Will definitely be back as there was loads more on the menu we wanted to try.

Went to cafe 4 breakfast orderd coffee and food after 45 minutes no food came so left asked 4 bill came told them no food came no apology just dam right ignorant

A busy cafe this Saturday morning, you are quite packed in inside, one small table outside. The regular black coffee/cappuccino is quite small, coffee good and strong, the cappuccino not so strong. Lemon drizzle cake was average in all respects. They don't do toasted currant teacakes so went for toast which was basic. The jam was excellent so I enquired as to which said jam was, but unfortunately the waitress was uninterested. The English breakfast that was served to the people on the next table was small and undercooked. Wouldn't return.

I called in here with my wife as a stop-off on a long road trip back home from the North-East. We chose well! The service was excellent from a couple of exceptionally intelligent, attractive and arty student girls who seem to be running the place. It was busy but there were no delays and the coffees and snacks were first class. Prices were realistic too - very welcome these days

As a local this has become my favourite cafe to visit regularly. The food is high quality, using local food suppliers and growing the rest themselves on their farm. The staff are friendly and they have a few quirks I enjoy such as a timer with your pot of tea to let you know when it’s brewed. I’d highly recommend their cheese and apricot sandwich, it’s now become my favourite sandwich in town

Would not recommend. Asked specifically for a vegan sausage sandwich which is advertised as such on the menu. I am allergic to dairy so this is usually a safe option. Not here. My sandwich was served with copious amounts of butter. When asking the staff they admitted the butter and I handed the plate back to them stating I couldn’t eat it as it’s not the “vegan” sandwich they had advertised. They then returned to the kitchen with the door open and proceeded to loudly discuss the issue, insinuating the mistake was mine. I was under the impression all advertised vegan meals should in fact be completely vegan, not just for ethical and moral reasons but in my case for health reasons too. Imagine the risk this could put customers at if they had an anaphylactic reaction to a meal they thought should be safe to consume. An apology would have been nice, but definitely requires some further training on safe food practise and advertising standards within their menu.

Fabulous scones. Nice, atmospheric little tea shop on the square in Thirsk. What could be better. Oh, they are dog friendly = bonus!

Dropped in for an afternoon drink. Friendly staff. Good selection of enticing cakes at reasonable prices. Sampled the sticky toffee and pear and the toasted tea cake with Wensleydale. Both were delicious. Free WiFi. Worth a return visit.

Aw what a little Gem this cafe is…..The hot chocolate is to die for I had the Venezuela milk hot chocolate, absolutely delicious. We had sandwiches for lunch…amazing! My other half had a pot of tea, but once he had tried my hot chocolate he definitely says he slipped up there ha ha ha. The staff are/were very courteous, very polite, professional and really nice easy going ladies. Thank you will definitely come again. Certainly will recommend this Little Gem. Many thank you’s X

Visiting Thirsk and found this place by chance for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Lucky us! Friendly and efficient staff. Wonderful menu of breakfast items and fairly priced. Our food was delicious and the presentation was amazing - see photo. And, we were able to bring our little cockerpoo in after being turned away by another cafe. If you are in Thirsk eat here!

The staff are always attentive and friendly and the first time we visited the food was delicious, unfortunately the soup yesterday was not to the high standard I was expecting. Other than that, I can't fault this lovely little cafe.

Visiting Thirsk for the first time and popped in at 2pm, starving, hoping for an afternoon tea. By 2.20pm we left after being completely ignored despite saying that we were ready to order our food. Wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t for the fact there was only a few other people in at the time. Disappointed and ended up having to go to Greggs as we were too hungry.

Popped into the Tea Time Cafe while visiting Thirsk. What a lovely little café. Staff were friendly and helpful, the coffee was excellent, the pot of tea was of a good quality and prices were very reasonable. There were plenty of tables and a fun mix of miss matched crockery to add to the quirky chic feel of the place. We will certainly be visiting again.

Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of our shakes and scone! But trust me when i say it was absolutely amazing! Lovely friendly service, made to feel right at home. Chia Latte, Freakshake, and a scone with jam clotted cream, perfect start to our day and will 100% be back next time we are in Thirsk!

We visited today for breakfast and was greeted with a very frosty and unfriendly reception from one of the older waitresses, her attitude was very rude and it’s as if we were a hindrance to her. The breakfast was nice except for the toast was burnt and the milk in the tea had floaty bits in it. When we mentioned this to the frosty waitress she gave us some more milk but again her attitude was rude and unapologetic. Due to this we wouldn’t visit here again. Stars based on attitude of the waitress. Food was 3 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️

Finally found the BEST coffee in Thirsk! Freshly ground and with a real manual machine, no button pressing! In addition the loveliest welcome and most delicious and great menu, with a lovely alternative healthy selection on the menu. Can’t wait for my next coffee, cannot recommend enough

Certainly the best place we have eaten at in Thirsk & really great customer service too. Highly recommend the smothered fries, what fabulous combinations and my hubby was really happy with his Brie & onion chutney toastie. All reasonably priced too.

We popped in about 2 weks ago. The staff were very attentive, a great welcome as you entered the Cafe. The sandwiches were excellent, thick cut bread, very fresh, well garnished, good quality tea with china tea cups. a very well run establishment. Dogs welcomed as well. Top marks Highly recommeded
