Very bland food. Lacked any depth of flavour or spice. Dissapointing as was recommended in town as the best one around here.

Really tasty meal. Fit us in to sit and dine when we popped in fully expecting to have to get a takeaway. Great food, boiling hot and even boxed our food left, to go. Very kind.

We came from Manchester and seen reviews online but still asked locals where's the best Indian restaurant in town. I didn't go to others as no need to, we didn't have a booking but bengal squeezed to of us in on a Fri night at 6pm when they were getting nearly full already & only opened at 5pm, Service was so fast & friendly. The lads couldn't do enough for us. And now the best bit.. The food, I've practically lived in the curry Mile in Manchester with 50+ Indian restaurants and this could 100% be up there with the best. The food & every taste was really nice, honestly I love my curry's and always say curry's outside Manchester are not great. This is, the tastes are 5star. Everything was beutiful and reasonable price. Cheers guys we really enjoyed tonight and will be back. Keep up the great work

Tasty food. Very friendly staff with lots of humour and bonhomie. One was very much the joker in the pack who dish out the fun and happily receive it back. The food was good, but the spicing wasn't as good as that at my local Indian.

Went to Bengal Kitchen for the first time tonight, we hadn't booked but they were so amenable and fitted us in. The service was fantastic and I have to say it was the best food I have tasted for a while! A big thank you and well done for everything, we will be back (and book next time 😊)

Starters were ok and the service was friendly. Sadly the mains left a lot to be desired. Chicken tikka masala was the best, but even then, average. The seafood balti and handi cocktail ( both medium spiced dishes) were both bland and non-descript. The “mixed seafood” in the balti was grisly. I told the waiter who said he’d tell the chef but there was no further attempt to address it. Most of our mains food went back to the kitchen and we certainly didn’t want it boxed up. We would not visit again nor recommend.

Friendly staff and lovely food.

This is our third visit to this restaurant. There is always a warm welcome and the food is just amazing - try the Shashi Shashlik Bhuna if chicken breast in lovely big chunks of popper and onion is your thing. Very reasonably priced too - the two of us had starters, mains, three sides and two pints of Cobra and it came to £68.

The naan bread was full of raw onions and cheese and was not even cooked. The korma was watery and bland and the rice was full of onions. The vindaloo was not spicy nor had any flavour and they get the order wrong will never go here again

Really friendly service and one of the best curries we’ve ever had. The menu had some different options, especially for the vegetable dishes which had a fresh variety of vegetable ingredients. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and would definitely recommend.

Had a fab night tonight for my birthday with my family, the staff were amazing the service was second to none!! They are natural hosts and entertainers!! They made me feel like a VIP on my special day .The food was outstanding!! and the warm friendly, atmosphere just makes the experience even better, it is by far the best Indian in Thirsk and the surrounding area!! Went here for our Christmas Dinner and couldn't be happier! Food was amazing, atmosphere was great and staff were super attentive! We even got a Christmas present from them. We will definitely be going back again soon!

Recommended by a family member who has had a few takeaways, so we decided to sit in while visiting. After a few illnesses and cancelled bookings we eventually made it. Food was brilliant and a communication error ended up with us having an extra starter on the house!

This is the second takeaway I have had from here in two months. The first was ok, this was very poor. Firstly, according to the website you get 15% off with collection. I didn’t and that felt deliberate at the time. The food itself was poor. The starter was ok but the main course was watery and tasteless apart from a little bit of heat but nothing else. I had a lamb dish and the lamb itself was beautifully cooked but everything else about the dish was unpleasant. I can’t recommend this place.

Wow! Amazing food and amazing service, we came here as we was staying in thirsk for the weekend and we love Indian food so came here to try and did not disappoint! I had the mushroom purée for start and it was delicious! The Balti was perfect. Potions was large! Really lovely food and the waiters were attentive and funny too ! Lovely place and will definitely come again !

We ordered a takeaway from this restaurant yesterday and we’re disappointed to be honest the chicken madras sauce was the consistency of water and the 3 chicken biryani dishes were very peppery and hardly any chicken in them we threw most of the takeout way having visited may Indian restaurants over the years and buy takeouts on a regular basis this restaurant is not a 5⭐️

We are tourist and heading up to Scotland and stayed in Thirsk for one night. Found this restaurant on google and food are really delicious! I had fish Masala with butter naan and my husband had veg curry with rice, superb place to eat and highly recommended!! Price is also fair

Nowhere near as good as it used to be, my wife had king prawn butterfly, which were small frozen overcooed prawns in breadcrumbs, we also had Chicken Tika main course small pieces of dry chicken nothing like it used to be, there arefar better indian take aways locally. Very disappointing.

Used to be good. Now very poor. Take away order was 25 minutes late and very little in the way of an a apologie. Part of the order was missing. Chicken tikka was replaced with a dry tandoori chicken leg which did not smell very fresh so was promptly thrown in the bin. The rest of food was very bland and tasteless. Wouldn't recommend and will not be visiting again.

Was passing through Thirsk decided to try Bengal Kitchen. Beautiful restaurant. Food was amazing, the lamb chops were succulent and flavoursome. Had lamb masala for mains which was an absolute delight. Very friendly staff as well. Will definitely be visiting again!

Food Good. But they did not honour the 15% off online ordering when collecting the food. They stated it had to be over £20. Nowhere is this stated. My order came to £19.95 and they would not honour their offer. Poor customer service.
