Came here yesterday for a meal with my friend, the food was really nice, but was stunned to find out that a bottle of jack rabbit rose was £25!! Two burgers was the same price as one bottle of wine absolutely outrageous

Mesa reservada para las 7 pm. Muy ocupado arriba y zona de bar. Nuestra mesa para 2 en una bonita esquina arriba. La comida estaba bien, nada de servicio especial estaba de nuevo bien. Bebidas un poco exageradas. Pinta de sidra y un vino tinto de más de £ 15. Han estado antes mientras se aloja en Whitby. ¡Dos niños Gritando no ayudaron! ¿Quién trae niños a esa hora de la noche y tratando de obligarlos a comer? No Kids After 8 pm.

We booked a one night stop travelling home to Norwich from Scotland. Pub notified in advance the restaurant would not be open. On arrival told bar would close at 7pm. (Not much point of a pub stay then!). Room wasn't really fit - no toiletries, broken light, Internet not working. But it was clean. Going out for a meal (doh!) Was advised there would be no staff staying in ovetnight and we could have an emergency contact (little use as mobile service poor). We said we weren't staying although they showed little or no interest. Faced a late night unwanted drive and lost a morning in lovely York. The pub just wasn't ready for guests. Deplorable way to treat people and positively unsafe. Avoid!

Increíble pub y buena comida. Personal amable y atento, la casera era servicial, educado y muy amable. El ambiente era agradable y animado justo lo que quieres de un buen pub. Gran selección de bebidas en el grifo y la selección de aperitivos era muy bueno. Iré cada vez que pase de ahora en adelante

Perfect spot for your pub lunch or dinner lovely roaring fire and dog friendly Good vegitarisn options all home made and desserts were fab!

Friendly landlady beer was nothing special. Gone down hill since last visit. Beer garden unkept and in poor shape. Hopefully in will improve was great pre covid busy clean and vibrant. It does have new managers now.

Got a caramel shortbread and a brownie - both tasted very fresh and lovely! It was very cosy to dine in and relax for a few minutes, will absolutely come back :)

What else can you say about a wetherspoons a large selection of cask ales and all at affordable prices, Keep the brilliant work up Tim..

Use to call in here years ago for a carvery and was hard to get a seat. Not any more places was empty. The staff great carvery very disappointed meats ok but the vegetables tasted like they were frozen put in a steam oven then served. Will Not Be Calling Again. Very poor show.

Good prices, and staff, nice muffin today, good to get them hot

Says opens at 11am, arranged to meet family there at 330pm, got there, all pub locked up . Tried to phone and just voice messages.

UPDATED April 2025 - much better experience in 2025 - food better quality tables cleared & more staff - much improved from 2024. 2024 Awful experience, it used to be nice but the last 2 visits have been very poor. Tables were dirty, I used hand wipes to clean our table as it was covered in spilled drinks & food debris, we ended up moving tables to a larger table as there was 5 of us - had to move dirty glasses & food plates and clean the table again, vinegar & sauce bottles sticky & not clean, food on the floor. We ordered our food, 2 currys, chicken burger, american burger & pasta. Most of the food was warm rather than hot, the rice was stuck together in clumps & unpleasant, poppadoms were dripping in grease & naan was hard, curry not hot. None of our group enjoyed the food - very poor quality & not what we have normally experienced in other Wetherspoon pubs. My daughters partner was sick later that night probably from the chicken burger that was not fully warmed through. We won't be returning - really sad that pub this has deteriorated so much.

Came here for lunch , had a set menu. The food and drinks were reasonable priced and the staff were excellent to .

The beer may be cheap but the Mangalorean roasted cauliflower & spinach curry has to be the worst curry I even came across - not only was there almost no sauce - neither were there any signs of cauliflower or spinach - just a plate of fairly dried up flavorless potato accompanied with more dried up flavourless potato in a meal that came with chips - though I could have chosen to have it with rice!
