Decepcionante té y servicio especialmente y no regresará.

The food was good if a little overpriced (typical hotel prices!) and the staff were professional and friendly. What is sadly lacking is a sense of occasion. The restaurant isn't really a restaurant - it is basically the breakfast area with the lights turned off at one end! There are no table cloths or candles. They are really missing a trick here because if they made more of this space (and frankly the money they are charging for the food then they really should!) then more people - guests and locals alike would be encouraged to eat here. The hotel is an easy 10-15 mins walk from the centre or you can easily get reasonably priced taxis - they are not trying hard enough to encourage custom in their restaurant...... i feel a bit mean giving an average score - good would be more appropriate but doesn't exist - but can't really score it higher based on the value for money/ambience bypass......

Eaten here several times before always when using the spa and on a discount card or voucher and this time was no different. If I was paying full price I wouldn't eat here as prices are too high for quality, service and atmosphere. The sandwiches for afternoon tea are basic, scantily filled, lacking in taste and dry. The Champagne is not champagne it's Prosecco , I know as I saw it been poured. The cakes and scones are plentiful but not homemade. Tea and coffee was good. Service has chaotic.

We had a breakfast; 2 lunches; and a dinner at The Quays - all very enjoyable. The bacon & sausages for breakfast were great - just a pity there was no Black Pudding, especially are we were in Yorkshire1 The buffet lunches had a good selection of dishes, and the dinner menu was well blended - I selected a Roast Fig tossed with candied walnuts, blue cheese & a red wine vinaigrette starter (good value at £4.50); then Coq au Vin; and finally Apple Tart Tatin with Custard & Cinnamon Syrup. The Staff were excellent throughout.

I visited with my mum, aunt and cousin. As my aunt is battling cancer and currently undergoing chemo, we wanted somewhere clean and quiet, but still with a nice atmosphere. This was perfect. The setting was very nice, relaxing. Staff were very friendly. The food was fabulous - we were all thrilled with our meals, even me with my picky tastes and asking for my omelette to be made only with eggwhites, replace the chips with toast, no dressing on salad! They did it all perfectly and with a smile. Decent wine list too, though you'll pay for the quality. The food was very reasonably priced. We sat for 3 hours and didn't know where the time had gone. We are all looking forward to visiting again.

The standard of service did not match the standard of the premises and food offered for the Living Social voucher. We tried to make a reservation for a Sunday afternoon and phoned a few days prior. In fact we phoned several times because staff were too busy to accept our call. Eventually Reception promised to phone back, but didn't. We had better luck a week later. But the standard of service was poor (35 minutes from sitting down before being served, and then only after we enquired how long it would be). Despite the first floor restaurant being devoid of diners at 3:15 pm it was explained to us that the slow service was due to them being extremely busy on the ground floor. It leaves us wondering exactly why the Sheffield Hilton offers these vouchers. This was our second time using a Living Social voucher for afternoon tea. We were very underwhelmed by the service the first time, but decided to give them a second chance. Sadly, on this showing, we will not be going again.

When we visit the spa we eat here out of convenience and as I have a Gourmet Card the prices are ok. As usual the restaurant was quite and lacking in any ambiance, but that doesn't bother us as we found a nice area and settled down to chat and eat.Service was woefully slow, over 2 hours for 2 courses, but as I have said before the staff that are working are stretched as often only one person waiting tables and manning the bar. The food has gone down hill. My partner was happy with his Hilton Burger and the Greek Salad was good but everything else was sub standard. Steaks were tough and fatty. Fish Fingers Sandwich, the cheapest of cheap, very little fish inside and it was grey and the bread was dry. Ice cream, whilst nice was serviced in a mini tub rather than in a bowl and Fruit Salad with Cream was half the size of previous and manly apple.

Third visit, Sunday afternoon with friends, dinning with discount card, same as last two times. We all opted for the Hilton Burger with Bacon & Cheese and a side of Onion Rings. All pretty good nothing to complain about. Deserts were fine too. We had coffees and hot chocolates this time as well, a bit on the expensive side but very well made. As with our previous visits the bar/restaurant was woefully understaffed. I'm sorry I forget the chaps name but he did a sterling job on his own and was smiling and pleasant throughout.

Back again with friends, this time we decided to try the Rump Steak. Presentation was poor compared to last time and the mushroom sauce was not a patch on before, however if we had not been before and knew this it was quite acceptable. Drink were a disaster, lager and beers kept on going off at the pumps, consequently took ages, however a round was offered on the house and this more than made up for the problem.Understaffed, only 2 members in the day we visited and it was busy, they worked hard and did well given the stress they were under.Dined with Gourmet card so good value.

We were visiting the spa and decided to have lunch in The Quays Bar using my Gourmet Card.Of the 4 of us 3 had Rib Eye Steak with Mushroom Sauce and 1 had a Hilton Burger, we all had a side of onion rings. Mushroom Sauce was divine, Steak good if a little overdone, came with Chunky Chips, Grilled Tomato and Mushroom, all were very well cooked and tasty. My fellow dinner enjoyed their Burger and skinny fries. We all had desserts, Apple Crumble, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Chocolate Pudding and Ice Cream, again all were very enjoyable. Lovely location over looking the canal basin. Nice staff, though service was slow. Overpriced drinks. Great way to spend a Sunday lunchtime, we all enjoyed ourselves and we would visit again. Glad a have a gourmet card as wouldn't have wanted to pay full price.

I dined at this restaurant with my partner using a Living Social voucher. I'm quite glad I had the voucher as some of the menu choices were a tad expensive. On arrival the voucher specifics were fully explained and we were left for a few minutes to choose. For main course we both chose to have sirloin steak but we prefer it cooked differently - he likes it rare and I like mine well done. There was also a choice of what you could have it served with - he chose salad and I had mushroom and tomato - we both went for the chunky chips! When the dishes arrived they were very well presented and the salad came in a separate dish. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and there was certainly more then enough on the plate so no short measures on portions. We had a check back shortly after we were served and the extra drinks ordered were soon delivered. We decided to treat ourselves to a dessert - he chose treacle pudding and I had the white chocolate torte. The treacle pudding went down amazingly well but the torte was a bit tasteless only saved by the dark chocolate topping. That said I would go back to this restaurant (even without a voucher). The menu has plenty of choice, the waitresses are very attentive but not over whelming and the restaurant itself was extremely clean and well presented.

If there was a half star it would get 3.5 stars, feel the menu prices are set for people who can charge to expense accounts. The room has very little atmosphere would be better on a Summer evening to sit outside. Staff were very efficient and attentive brought jug of water with first round of drinks. Starter of pancetta and scallops was lovely but should be for 11pound. Salmon and salad main needed some dressing, steak cooked well had gluten free roll and allowed change of items such as extra mushroom instead of tomatoes. Did not have a pudding as strawberries and cream at over 6pounds and no tennis to watch felt too expensive.

My husband, my brother and I took my dad here for his 70th birthday. It would have been expensive but we used a taste card which took 50% off all food. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and they had put a couple of balloons and some sprinkles on the table, they gave my dad a little signed birthday card from the staff and they gave my dad a free drink. Very impressed with the service and my dad had a lovely birthday. Everyone else enjoyed their food, I'm pregnant so couldn't enjoy mine as much as I'd have liked and I'm 100% convinced that the korma I ordered was not korma but other than that everything was perfect. The food isn't the most generous sized portions and the prices are slightly expensive but it all tasted lovely so with the taste card my husband and I would be very happy to go there again. They even split the bill for us in the odd way that we wanted to save us the hassle! Thank-you for making my dad's birthday a memorable and special occasion!

His: a vegetarian toad in the hole. Hers: a cheese, leek and potato pie. Both were pretty buxom winter warmers but while his was reasonable bar the odd tasting sausages (think cheap pork sausages that have so little meat content they might as well be vegetarian), hers was, frankly, dire: a cheese, leek and potato pie without the cheese and leek. A solid wall of potato encased in pastry. A few bits of tasteless yellow slime were sitting on top of the wall and a few flecks of green had been crushed under it but it was 99% potato. It was so bad I wish I'd taken a photograph. Maybe the meat selection was better but I'd never, ever go there again. I don't mind restaurants getting it wrong, what I do mind is when they couldn't give a toss.My message to the Hilton is this. Employ people who actually respect food/cooking/customers and you'll do so much better. Check out the pies at places like The Broadfield on Abbeydale Road. And if at first you don't succeed, don't just serve it up anyway.

The meal had been bought for us as a present so we were using a voucher for champagne cocktails and a three course meal.On our arrival we were wished a happy anniversary by staff who had also decorated our table and left a card. We thought this was a really nice touch. Our meals were absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious. The service was very prompt polite and friendly. Our meal was finished off with a plate of strawberries marshmallows and chocolate sauce with happy anniversary wishes. Another lovely touch. All in all a lovely evening of fantastic food and service.

When we first entered the new owner was on to us since he hates us in general but we egnored him and continued it was my sun in laws 21st birthday last week so we met up to give him is gift we ordered an alcoholic drink for him and they asked for id he forgot it but had an Imige on his phone they said they couldn’t accept it so he had a flat drink. But my husband wasn’t having any of it so he ordered him the drink but when we sat back down all the staff was walking past our table and just watching us. Our sun in law decided to have a drink since he is now the legal age but as soon as he did the staff rushed up to us and took it. So they decided to leave (I don’t blame them) my and my husbands friends came laiter that night to see us and the waiters wouldn’t surve our friends alcohol even though they came an hour after the incident but we ordered food (with no drinks!). My husband went up to the bar calmly and asked why they wasn’t serving us or the other family that we was with. They said” it’s our policy”. So since the other family (that wasn’t here when the incident occurred)just asked for there money back since they couldn’t have drinks. So the waiters came up to our table and took all of our food and drinks away while our kids were still eating. They took all of my family’s food even though it was just my friends that got there money back! So I asked for my family’s money back and they tried giving me less money than I payed! Overall it was a dreadful time and the waiters ruined my night definitely do go here never mind eat hear. Hope you all find a better place to eat.
