Overall, burgers looked nice, nachos were large in quantity but cold but the steak was requested medium rare and came out mooing it was extremely undercooked. The mixed grill that included the steak for £16 is outrageous. Chefs need to do better

My server Matilda was very helpful and attentive. She pointed me to the ketchup which I then applied liberally on my burger - it was divine.

Went for a pub lunch. The gentleman behind the bar was very helpful with my partner who is gluten intolerant, she had steak and chips, and asked for a sauce to go with it. Not being sure whether the peppercorn sauce had gluten he looked online for us, sadly it had, but he offered red wine sauce or port and Stilton sauce, she opted for the red wine sauce which was lovely. I had fish and chips, which was a lovely big portion, and our son had the beef and red wine lasagne with garlic bread which also looked delicious. Big kudos to the bar staff for their patience and understanding. 14/4/25 at 2.30pm

Been coming here for a few years now and it's always pleasant enough. Staff are generally variable but the lady at the bar on our latest visit today was very pleasant. The food was great for the price on this occasion, one order was wring and it was offered to be fixed. That said, someone needs to clean the men's toilets. It's totally unacceptable. Frankly if it this dirty is a client facing area it makes you question how clean is the establishment in areas that are not.

I won't lie the place itself is quiet and nice but the services are so slow and take ages. The food itself is decent which is a shame because your waiting forever to get anything. Went in and waited for almost an hour for a chocolate sundae desert🤣

Arrived at this pub, ordered our food (6 of us) food took 50 minutes to arrive! When it did arrive, first meal the mixed grill was missing the steak as they had 'overcooked' it. Next was part of a meal for one of the children which was chicken nuggets cheese chips garlic bread and sweetcorn. Chips came first, 5 mins later the garlic bread, then a bit later the chicken, 10 mins later the corn! Then in between this, the overcooked steak replacement arrived, which by this time the meal was almost finished! My husband ordered burger and chips.The chips looked old and cremated, but were stone cold! 3 gyros were mediocre to say the least! All in all, a looked forward to family meal turned out atrocious, will definitely not be returning there in a hurry. Waste of money!

Nachos were terrible.Something so easy made so badly.No cheese? and Cold would have been better of with a bag of crisps.Tea lukewarm.My main however was good it was decent temperature and ok.The waiting time was not great.Didn’t feel I could approach the staff member as she didn’t seem bothered about anything didn’t ask our opinion of food.

Había unos cuantos en el pub y mis amigos dijeron que esto no es lo que experimentaron antes, pero había comida de mala calidad y recibieron el mismo servicio ignorante. Soy solo yo, ¿tienes algún problema conmigo o simplemente soy desafortunado y cada vez que vengo en la comida y el servicio es una basura porque se siente como si estuviera en el punto de mira y no sé por qué. He estado muchas veces con amigos y familiares y no puedo regresar hasta que el negocio funcione mejor.

Went for a wake didn't have food ready , not that good , and got a parking ticket staff didn't tell us to sign in .

I've been visiting this pub for a while now and the food and service never disappoints. Amy is one of the friendliest bar tenders I have ever met, thank you for looking after us and providing us with some amazing meals.

We waited over an hour for our food to arrive. When the order arrived it was missing some food. The food was cold and one of the dishes the meat was tough and food undercooked. Very disappointing will not return for food again.

We stopped in for a pint and a soda and lime after viewing a house nearby. We were there for 13 minutes and got 2 parking fines for £200 (we had 2 cars and the fines were £100 each). Neither of us saw any signs in or outside of the pub and nothing was mentioned to us by the bar staff. Euro car parks is making a lot of money out of this. We will not be returning.

Great pub been going in for years. Had a reunion last night and we were well looked after by the landlady and bar staff. Prices are very reasonable and it’s got a good atmosphere but not too overcrowded. Staff are great. Many thanks

Stopped on our way to a funeral. Friendly welcome, ample parking. Best Mac & Cheese I’ve had for a long while. Would have included a photo but it disappeared at light speed so all you are getting is a pic of the empty bowl 😆. Highly recommend this pub.

AHHHHHHHH, what can we say about the hammer, well it does exactly that, it hammers down a great pint and provides a generous portion and fantastic food. With delightful staff who are polite and patient in dealing with rough builders on a Friday dinner. There’s always enough tables despite the party and a picturesc view makes the beer garden a delightful space to enjoy the British weather. From all the pubs in the area, this is and will always be my favourite place. I’m sure I’ll see you soon.

Friendly bar staff, looked to be a good evening with friends but..... Food overcooked, mashed potato like playdough; had yobasknfor kids deserts 3 or 4 times, then what came was nothing like the menu. The smoked alarm went off 4 . times, smoke billowed out of kitchen, then had to sit with coats on as needed to air out the pub. Good comedy night and good inexpensive but won't be rushing back

Should I remove a star because I wish it was closer to home? I can’t fault this wonderful pub, from the great outdoor space to the friendly staff. I visited recently for food and was surprised by the vast choice of different dishes to choose from, even as a vegetarian and a very fussy eater. It is not very often I am spoilt for choice. My food came quick, fresh and delicious. The portion size was spot on and the value for money is great! I will definitely be back, it’s worth the journey.

Really disappointing meal. I ordered the sizzling bbq beef rib. Basically got a plate of chips, undercooked mushrooms and onions and one rib. My partner also didn’t receive the food he ordered. I spoke to a member of the bar staff who was very friendly and explained there was a new chef however no refund was offered. Due to the quality of the food I will not be returning until a new chef is found.

Drove past this pub few times when visiting family but decided to call in this time. We were greeted with a welcoming smile from girls behind the bar which makes nice change from someone being on their mobile. The pub was quiet with it being early lunchtime but it had a friendly atmosphere the girls had a little chat with us asking us where we were from. I noticed there was plenty of tv's around for you sports fans and a lovely fire for winter time. We both had the fish and chips which we didn't have to wait too long and were asked if everything was ok and did we need anything else to go with our meals. We both cleared our plates food was lovely(sorry didnt get any photos) Definitely call in again when we're passing.

Food fresh and good value. However it’s annoying that you book a table for 12 then have to move furniture about to make a table suitable for 12. Why isn’t this prepared in advance? If other people had sat differently it wouldn’t have been possible yet the table had been booked for a couple of weeks!

Went here with all the lads to have a lovely scran. Food was absolutely fantastic 👍 and I couldn’t get enough of those curly fries. Fortunately had a lovely young lady named Matilda helping us and a barman who made it enjoyable for me and me lads. Will def come back here however sometimes the feeling was a bit off with the other workers but i had a lovely time and fab staff helping us. Recommend!!!! (Especially since the prices are so good in this economy! 😂❤️)

Really loved going here with my family (two teenage boys and my husband), one of my boys is quite picky and we often find it hard to find food he enjoys but Hammer & Pincers had an overflow of delicious, simple foods! Couldn't be more grateful! Aside from that, the atmosphere and the service was just phenomenal, Matilda- our waitress, and the barman, who's name I didn't seem to catch, absolutely made our experience just that much more special! Our waitress made jokes, repeatedly asked us if we needed anything, and never once appeared disinterested or unenthusiastic; which we were so grateful for and really helped us to be engaged in the dining experience. There was no unnecessary flavours, and the table was jam packed with essential condiments (although would've loved to see some mustard), and salt and pepper! On a sour note, we would've appreciated a larger array of non-alcoholic beers, my hubby, James, has recently ventured onto his sober journey and found the lack of range unfortunate (only three!). I just find this to be dated and a thing of the past and would love to see this for the future- which we will definitely be there for! Overall, an absoloute sublime dinner! And although a few slight ways to improve, we couldn't be happier for the price, and for the service!

Revisited as requested from my last review managed to convince two friends to join me and sadly nothing seems to have changed. As stereod by another review I have read on here. It’s really sad to say as we genuinely thought things would have been different as we was invited back by the management. Unfortunately long food wait times nearly an hour and cold. Not busy no atmosphere for a pub that should be busy. Staff seem flustered.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon, pub was dead with no atmosphere and yet our food took 40 minutes to arrive. Meals were bang average, fish and chips were burger were pretty good but curry and tandoori chicken far far too spicy despite no mention of spice on the menu. Chips freezing, and the ice creams we ordered for desert came melted. Probably wouldn’t visit again.
