The Bankers Draft in Sheffield

Went for breakfast, my first choice wasn't available, waited a long time, before our order arrived. One of the party was having scrambled eggs on toast, with beans as extra. She received poached egg instead, waitress said they had run out of eggs. 🤔 Her extra beans was a very small portion. My husband and I had a breakfast, no apology or explanation. He was missing eggs and mushrooms and was given extra 2 hash browns added to his already 3 he had in his meal.. I had no egg but was given a extra hash brown. Both of our portion of beans were small. I told the waitress, who collected the plates, I didn't think hash browns were equivalent to what was missing in our meals. Lidl down the road sells eggs.

Took them an hour and me going up to the bar to ask what's going on to tell me they were missing one of the simplest ingredients. No apology for the time wasted, just rolled eyes when I didn't take the paltry alternative and wanted a refund. The last time I came my meal came cold after waiting an hour, asked the server to take it back, took them 20 minutes and me going up to the bar for them to clearly drop it into a Microwave for 30 seconds and pass it back to me. I'm only coming back here if there are no other alternatives and I expect my time to be wasted.

I've just had the worst service I've ever received at this pub and my meal hadn't even arrived yet! I ordered and paid for a fry up and then was told that there were no eggs and that there was a 40 minute wait for food. No token apology and no offer of a substitute for the missing eggs until iI complained. This used to be a reliable place for a fry up.

It is what it is here food half decent as I gad fish and chips which were good value to be fair

Edited this after a year. Burger and chip size portions drastically reduced. Food tastes nice but the sizes are getting too small to justify the price when you can go somewhere else and get bigger portion sizes.

It doesn't pretend to be anything other than it is and that's why I like it. Keeps it simple and delivers every time.

Cracking Wetherspoons pub. Unique atmosphere and the staff are spot on. Hat off to the land lord and land lady for running such a great establishment.

Closed garden even though its sunny Told I cannot stand at the door to smoke while I have my beer What you want me to do with it ? Left as your curly haired staff member was rude

We have visited the Bankers Draft several times per week for several consecutive weeks. Today we sat at a table of our choice. At 5.05pm a woman came over & said she'd reserved that table from 5.30pm, but had arrived early. She then went to see a member of staff because there was no sign saying reserved from 5.30. A young male staff member came over & told us there'd been an error & the table should have had a sign on saying reserved from 5pm (not what the lady said, or what we could hear her repeat at the bar). She then stood staring at us, making us feel uncomfortable & drink our drinks faster than we normally would, & leave. We had planned on eating & having a bottle of prosecco but have had to move on to an establishment where they value our custom & DO NOT make us feel not welcome!!!

A nice cosy pub to chill in (go upstairs). Food and drink is very good value for money

Afuera elige tu camino a través de la gente obviamente drogada y peleando en la puerta del pub experiencia realmente horrible en todo el mundo.

Good service food was nice can’t understand how staff let people come in and sit there with no food or drink it’s happened a few time while I’ve popped in

Very rare to get a poor meal at Wetherspoons but the breakfast I had here last Saturday (04/01/2025) was disappointing to say the least, and it took a while to be served but I'll blame tight fisted management for that rather than the staff. Beans were cold, egg was cold and hard, bacon portion was more like it had been carved off the body of a mouse, such was its meagre size. The sausage was dry, in fact the only things nearly enjoyable were the hash brown and the toast. I ordered the meal at 11:30 so well within the breakfast schedule and I gathered that it was pre prepared and left on a tray somewhere, just waiting for some mug to shell out the £4.99 for it.

Lots of drugs users hanging around had my coat stolen when when to toilet the back doors are locked so u have no option but to stand outside front were drugged congregate the pub itself is nice the atmosphere upstairs it lovely downstairs is very busy and loud the food is standard the alcohol is cheep so I like to come regulary could do with some security on doors to be honest

Love the building and it's original features. It's never changed in like 20yrs and that's the best bit. It's so nice to go into a pub that retains its own stamp. Without following every other pub trends / following the flock. It was full of people enjoying themselves. And the atmosphere felt amazing. Felt like the old days when I first started going in there at the age of 16

Good service from staff but bit of a mix up with another table. The waitress was very polite and apologised. She looked like she was working extremely hard. Pancakes were moderately warm but syrup was cold.

Such a pity that it seems so impossible to post that it is about time that the real ale choice was updated. Been the same for several hours now but some are not available and others have not been added so they cannot be ordered at table.

Rough diamond. Excellent staff and beers. Expect some characters though.

It's a Wetherspoons. Cheap beer and quite a few drunks!

I have tea here once a week when I'm working in the city centre. Upstairs at the back is the best place to eat. Not the best Spoons in Sheff but the most convenient location for me. Food is usually good. Service does vary, it depends heavily on how busy it is. High turnover of staff so some don't seem interested sometimes but this is the exception.

Went for breakfast which was cheap and quality .before we went back to London.

Saturday early evening, super busy, very noisy, no free tables. Staff struggling to keep up with clearing them. Obvious dealing going on as well as selling stolen goods to customers. Other customer's eating their own food, using pub electricity to charge their mobility scooter n spitting on the table. Even though we only expected cheap n cheerful it wasn't the most pleasant experience unfortunately.

Busy Town pub good selection of of cheap drinks. Food service ok was a little disappointed with the food.

Buena opción para el desayuno temprano, así que elija esta cuchara. Muy bonito edificio y buen interior. Un montón de asientos interiores y exteriores. No muy limpio, ya que la mayoría de las mesas estaban sucias. De todos modos pedimos a través de la aplicación y nos dieron nuestro desayuno. Comida siempre decente y precios razonables. Opciones para verdura. Rellena el té o el café. Lo que no me gustó fue mucha gente borracha a la hora del desayuno y fumadores externos.

I meet friends regular here for food/drink as central place to meet. Always sit up stairs & always nice.

Rubbish food service. 55 minutes to get our food, and with no communication about how busy they were. The first meal arrived, the next 2 were almost 10 minutes later. Ruined what should have been a nice time with our daughter.

I don't know how to rate the atmosphere it was Darby day but the only reason for down grading the food low on beans not good on a breakfast

Nice spoons friendly staff, but the toilets upstairs and upstairs again suggest you leave for the toilet half hour before you think you need it

Possibly one of the worst Wetherspoons ive been in. Ruled by wild customers. Staff are good customers are positively wild. For context. Its a tuesday evening 😂

We sat upstairs which was a nice seating area. Had drinks which we ordered on the app and we delivered in good time. I was still a little shocked when I STILL had to walk upstairs to the toilet 😂

Good option for early breakfast so choose this Wetherspoon. Very nice building and good interior. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Not very clean as most of tables were dirty. Anyhow we ordered via app and got our breakfast. Always decent food and reasonable prices. Options for veggie. Refill tea or coffee. What i didn’t like a lot of drunk people at breakfast time and outside smokers.

Quieter than the other wetherspoons in town, quick service. Ordered the millionaire shortbread dessert, but no choc sauce! Drinks were good and reasonably priced

Don't know what all the complaints are about. Come here weekly. Yes there are a few down and outs but you never feel unsafe here. The staff and food is far better than some reviews suggest

I got asked by 3 different crackheads if I had any change in the space of 1 hour. The fire alarm then went off and we was all asked to leave. What a shambolic experience. The coke sniffing room was also full of people urinating which was extremely unhygienic won’t be returning soon

Nice good Wetherspoons, does what it says on the tin I guess, there's a reason for their success. Somehow I find the food here the best from all Wetherspoons in Sheffield

Law is that someone 16 or 17 can drink a pint with there meal if accompanied by an adult but the blonde women decided to take the drink and refuse to refund it. Wrong ens

There is a gobby cow with dark hair who acts like she is a manager, walking around, listening to her walkie talkie. Her language is vile, towards staff and customers. Embarrassing.

Dinner with my teenage son. Food is ok and it was quick and cheap.

Cheep drinks before the clubs. Always full to the brim though so good luck getting served quickly

Wetherspoons is the best around for good value drinks. However Sheffield City centre has deteriorated dramatically over recent years with undesirables plaguing the streets around this venue, which I must state is NO fault of Wetherspoons!! However I do feel it's only fair to make others aware.

Staff always mope-ing about don't look like they want to be there very slow not enthusiastic at all. Atmosphere OK, alot of drug users in and out toilets exc and selling knock off stuff from shops lol...... cheap drinks though food average but what do you expect for price still ide say on most items of menu good value for money.

The services we got was OK but was on edge as all the time as drug users was walking in and out selling what ever they add I'm in a wheelchair I went to disabled toilet it was not a nice the wax pee all over seat and floor I couldn't use the toilet so we ended up leaving after that so I could go to toilet

It is a weatherspoons pub in a nice old building in a central city location. Food wasn't anything special but cheap and edible and refuelled the family for a wander about town.

Noisy football pub downstairs but upstairs is far better and up near the windows on the next level up is even better. Food is reasonable, beer is excellent and coffee is great

Nice pub, we used it for our meals instead of the overpriced food at our hotel, Staff were great, really pleasant and polite, if you are going to eat then use the first floor, the ground floor is more the regulars. Just need to stop the smokers congregating in the door ways.

Be much better if all the chavs scruffs and wanna be gangsters were told to take off their baseball caps. Looked like most of the homeless were living in here. Awful place. Least the bar staff were pleasant enough

No locks on inner and outer doors of disabled toilets. Looked generally run down. Improved since my last visit. staff are now friendlier and more welcoming. Wouldn't mind eating here nowadays.

Meals were nice the lady that served us was nice and i think they needed more staff on shift as they was a half an hour delay to get my drinks and 45 minutes for my food we ordered The bbq chicken melt 2 large mixed grills 2 Pepsis 1 with 1 without ice 1 monster energy ultra The bill came to £42.95 just for 3 people

Typical cheap and cheerful 'spoons pub. Nowt wrong with that. You know what you're getting and a complaint I had was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

For a supposedly down market pub with lots of the 'not doing so wells' in and around, we found brilliant table service and surprisingly wonderful burger and small-plate dishes. We'll done, 'Engine Room' and staff. 👍🏻

Have been in many Wetherspoons with my family over the years but this has to be the roughest. Having lived in Sheffield 20yrs ago, I thought it would be nice to visit again. Wetherspoons is always good for a cheap dinner but leaving with my wife and 10yr old daughter at 8pm on a Sunday, a group of drunk men shouting very lewd inappropriate rude comments. No door staff to control the clientele. Will never be going in there again and left with a lesser impression of the city I loved.

Called for lunch and coffee , staff really friendly, food is fresh , very cheap, great afternoon.

Friendly and full of locals drinking beer for breakfast! Value you cannot beat though and a great place for a full breakfast and coffee to start the day.

Went to Lunch with my Daughter, was hoping for a bit of a Sunday Roast but they don't serve them 😕 I had the Raman Bowl was tasty but the Noodles were more like Italian Spaghetti then Chinese Noodles 🍜 My Daughter had 3 dishes for £14.95, the Chicken Bites are Juicy and Delicious 😋
