Handy for a cuppa after work or during a shop. The cafe is situated in the simply food store and it’s clients are generally local. Good service and bright and airy cafe. Huge windows mean it gets very hot in sunny weather. No outside seating.

quite basic and boring place to visit - there are much nicer cafes around ad cheaper. Would not go back. Staff seem disinterested and all in all not a pleasant experience

This is not a restaurant but a cafe. It is obviously going to reflect 'Harrogate' prices. It has been excellent everytime i require a 'snack' whilst shopping. Thank you M and S. PS A Deli would be nice like the one we sometimes visit in Moortown, Leeds...

In the first few months of this store opening this cafe was fairly good with the brightness from the big windows and handy car park but standards started slipping and the cold air con blowing on you and often tables not being cleared plus often awfully made weak tasting latte combined with the usual M+S rip off prices. Some of the staff couldnt care less but some are hard working especially Johnny a young lad who deserves a medal. We wont ever return!

What a joke, a friend and I decided to have afternoon tea, the assistant at the till said just take a pack of sandwiches from the shelf in the cafe and a cake and she added a pot of tea! Not even displayed on a sandwich platter. Better to pay more at The Harrogate Tea Rooms in the Westminster Arcade with home made produce and lovely surroundings. Why have M & S introduced the hard plastic chairs like McDonalds, is it to deter people hogging the table for hours over a coffee or more hygienic to clean?!

A bit like the one in the middle of town, but even colder, M&S seem to have abandoned efforts at a nice cafe as this feels like sitting in a supermarket, oh wait, we are!

We saw the "Cafe" sign in the window so call in for a spot of lunch. It has the worst menu I have ever seen. Basically you choices are soup, jacket potato or a bacon and egg sandwich. Everything else is just pre packaged stuff you could buy off the shelves. We had a jacket potato, it was very dry with only a tiny amount chilly. We had to smother it in butter to make it eatable. Very disappointed considering M&S has such a good reputation. And extremely over priced for the type of food.

We always take a refuge when we go to UK to eat some hot food for lunch at Marks and Spencer. It is easy to have lunch with a reasonable price. Then, we will go down to the Food Hall where we can shop for most of things we need for dinner. If there is a Mall then we are sure we can go and have something to eat there.

Tagged on to the m and s food store, popular with yummy mummy's after the school run, it's just a cafe. The coffee is fine, the cakes and sandwiches are m and s, so good. Can't be said to have atmosphere. Handy for a coffee if you need one.

Stopped here for a jacket with cheese, came mostly warm not much cheese on it. It was ok but they used to have more choice of toppings but now it's just utterly boring!! The menu NEVER changes! Seriously have something about your food that isn't so robotic!!

The staff make this place. Sam Chief Barista, Jonathan Head of Biscuits Hollie and new recruit Tom make the welcome special. Now Imi has arrived....love is all round. Great atmosphere, truly relaxing and a guaranteed M and S quality product. Main store just the same.....Ann on the self-service checkout who patiently deals with numpties like me, always friendly and positive and smiley Will great guy (bet he was a character at school) and Mrs Webb and Harriet etc. A great British institution. Love it.

Buena comida y buen servicio. Aconsejaría un abrigo porque el aire acondicionado es un poco demasiado frío a veces. Nos gusta aquí y siempre se puede conseguir algo de calidad comercial.

Popped in on the way back from a day out when I need to replenish the larder and fancied a cup of coffee.Unusually for Marks and Sparks the tables were not immaculate with lots of crumbs on some tables and dirty pots on others. Maybe they were short of staff. The coffee was certainly of an acceptable quality and a nice touch to be given a little biscuit as a freebie. The cafe was half empty though that might be because it was mid afternoon. The food hall attached was larger than usual with very good choice of items. Plenty of parking.I shall probably come back here. Maybe try their tempting cakes and the advertised afternoon tea. But overall I must admit to a slight feeling of disappointment.

First visit there and got in queue but plenty of empty tables and asked staff members why we were all waiting but didn't make any sense to us what he was saying so us and another couple took it on ourselves to break ranks and sit at empty table and I must stress there were six empty tables near us. The floor was disgusting around some tables and there seemed no sense of order. However the food was tasty. Won't visit again

As a place to drop into for a coffee whilst shopping at the M&S food outlet, it's perfectly acceptable. Decent choice of snacks and drinks and nice and clean

I have given very good rating rather than excellent simply because this cafe is always so cold. whatever the weather outside the air con is churning out an icy blast. Since it has opened we shop at least 5 days a week at the Oatlands store and almost always have a flat white, often sandwiches, toasted tea cakes or jacket potatoes. We avoid certain tables simply because they are so draughty from the industrial size air con units. It seems an enormous waste of energy. Friday morning Nov 13th was our first real wintery day in Harrogate and still the Arctic blasts were on. In summer I always take a jacket or sweater with me to put on in the cafe. I have mentioned this so many times to the staff who are always polite and charming. It is obvious they hear this complaint everyday. On Friday I queued at the Customer services desk as there was a manager there, voiced my complaint, to be told they have had so many complaints about the cafe's temperature but the heating is centrally controlled and there is nothing that can be done. She quickly returned to her conversation with a colleague ,was clearly uninterested, and couldn't have made it plainer. I find it hard to believe that in such a new building, with all the planning and energy saving requirements this is the case. Sort it out please.

My husband and I went to the M & S cafe on Leeds Road Harrogate on Monday 26th October for the first and last time. Although it was mid afternoon and there were hardly any people there, most of the tables had dirty crockery on them and the floor was filthy with dropped food etc. Very off putting in a cafe. Unfortunately this kind of thing happens in the M and S cafe in town plus other cafes.Where is staff training? Who is managing these cafes? Why are standards so low?I find small independent cafes have higher standards and I will be sticking to those UN future.

This cafe is a real delight compared with the town centre branch. There is always space to sit and the staff seem consistent rather than new people every other week. They are also friendly and efficient. The layout is good and the food of a high quality but the menu lacks substantial meals as it's just sandwiches, jacket potatoes, soup, cakes etc. The cafe is always quite draughty as near the main entrance.

It's hard to judge this cafe to be honest, it is clean, we'll run and efficient, I think mainly because it's never too busy. It's just a bit soleless, no character, the furniture is modern, and th staff work well but again are not friendly engaging.Obviously it sells M&S sandwiches and cakes which is no bad thing, just more expensive, but I think I would rather eat them at home.

We wanted jacket potatoes with a filling but the machine was not working so we each had a toasted sandwich with a coffee. The texture of the bread was like polystyrene foam and the cheesy filling almost tasteless. Not to finish eating M&S food is almost unheard of!!! The coffee was OK as was the carrot cake, but not memorable, and anyway, didn't make up for the appalling toasted sandwiches. The café itself is quite industrial in atmosphere and has an echo. Some sound deadening would add to the atmosphere and make it more welcoming.

Been here a few times. Menu is sparse as its mainly pre made sandwiches in fridges that are heated up or soup. Jacket potatoes are good and a sensible price. Service is very slow in main due to silly gadgets to make simple cups of coffee which should all be abolished to speed up service. A small cafe, clean and can always get a table, unlike the cafe in town centre which is constantly full.

went into the m&s cafe for a light lunch. I got to the till, had a glass bottle of diet coke which the lid needed taking off and I ordered a tuna jacket potato. The server was slow, and never apologised for the wait. when I sat down I realised the top hadn't been taken off the drink. went back up got it taken off fine. then they notified me that there was no tuna. so I ordered cheese instead. sat back down and as I hadn't been to one of these before a family member told me I had to get knife and fork behind the tills. so back up to get those as no member of staff had notified me this is what to do. It wasn't as relaxing as I hoped after a morning of shopping.

As a birthday treat we went to have Marks & Spencers for their Afternoon Tea in the café located on Leeds Road Harrogate. This is the new Marks & Spencers that opened last year with a fabulous food hall and café plus toilets. Excellent parking facilities in a spacious car park well designed. The Afternoon Tea was also fabulous and very pleasant. There was a good choice of sandwiches which were seafood and mixed variety. Fruity scones served with individual jars of strawberry jam and clotted cream. Cheese scones and individual butter portions. Fruity flapjack and chocolate shortcake. Presentation was superb. All accompanied with a pot of tea. Good value for £12.00 for two. Defiantly recommend this has a treat or celebration.

Needing a quick snack we popped into the new M and S Food Store (which is right up to standard and carries a huge range of products...spoilt for choice), and tried out the little cafe. Not a vast range of food but what we chose (two Quiches Lorraine hot, with an excellent salad) ) was first rate. Quick service, and the whole place was clean and bright and very welcoming for a big store. The food is mostly selected form stock in the store, so it could be cheaper to buy there and take out, but for us it was worth while to sit down and eat in such pleasant surroundings. There is a big car park, of course, which makes it very convenient, as it is just on the Leeds Road in or out of Harrogate.

We chose here to eat while travelling 400 miles from Aberdeen to Wacton in our electric car. The food was good. The staff were friendly but service was slow. My wife had soup and I had a main. That took about 40-45 minutes. I then had to go and move the car. When I left we asked the staff if my wife could order a sweet. We explained we were rushing. When I can back she still hadn't got it. By the time she got it we had been there a good 1hr 15 min. Disappointing as no notice was taken of our polite indication we were rushing.

Stopped here as it allowed overnights with Motorhomes if you buy food. The car park was almost full but I managed to squeeze my van onto a space. The staff were very friendly, the food was good, my rib eye steak was tough and dry (medium rare looked good but still tough) thankfully I had beef dripping as a sauce which was delicious, especially when the chips soaked it up. but everything else was really nice. The final bill £152 for 3x3 courses and drinks (3 ales, 2 wines 3 cokes) which I felt was on the slightly high side. I would happily return in the future.
