The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

Been here lots of times. Today very busy, staff dealt with very professionally. Bit of a wait for food but worth it. Enjoyed our late breakfast.

I attended the HSM Bottomless Brunch in May and could not fault the service of the young lady who served us. She was attentive and made sure our glasses were never empty. The pre ordered brunch (I had french toast) wasn't great though. The French toast was actually pancakes and they were both hard and cold. Was not a deal breaker however as we came for the brunch and definitely got our money's worth. What an absoulte shame my subsequent experience with your doormen and your absoulte refusal to acknowledge any of my messages let down what was a fantastic day up until that point. I am still awaiting the reply where you explain at what point it is acceptable for two male doormen to come into the female toilets to forcibly drag me out when I'm unwell? I completely acknowledge I'd had too much to drink, but I was in a cubicle being sick, was not in anyone's way and did not refuse to leave. I told the doormen I would leave after I'd been sick but that did not stop them from ENTERING my cubicle and dragging me out. Absoutlely disgusting on so many fronts and tbe actions of your MALE bouncers was highly inappropriate. To make matters worse you've then refused to acknowledge any of my emails or messages RE this matter, shows your priorities really. Would strongly advise people to avoid this establishment, once they've taken your money they don't give a damn and clearly an establishment that things it's appropriate for two men to storm into a female bathroom and drag someone out who is clearly worse for wear.

Definitely gone downhill since my last visit. Menu doesn't seem to have as much on it as before and it gets a little boring having the same limited menu if you stay for 2 or 3 nights like I did. That said, the onion bhaji starter is really good and so are the hoisin duck pancakes - pity they couldn't make them into main courses ! The pasta dish I had (linguini I think) was very sloppy and tasteless and the hunter's chicken the next night was also poor and bland. Those 2 meals kind of sum up what to expect here unfortunately. Not cheap and not that good.

Pleasant restaurant area, although a little cold. Mixed bread starter was disappointing - two small breads that were very hot having been microwaved. No real flavour to the breads at all. Steaks were well cooked and bottle of wine deal for £12 was good value. Restaurant was very quiet so there was little atmosphere.

Ordered a latté and a egg mayo sandwich (X2) Latté: coffee was NOT a latté and cup hadn't been washed from a previous customer as there was still a recent coffee rim mark inside the cup, tasted like cheap instant coffee which when served was cold. Egg mayo sandwich: sandwich tasted like it was old eggs, shells were in the sandwich as well as the white film off the eggs (from not peeling correctly) tiny hairs were also in the sauce on the sandwich. Customer observation: 'cook' was sat down in the serving area to put it bluntly scratching his balls, he was then sneezing without handwashing before resuming to cook food...... Customer base seems to be the elderly which to be honest I can now see why as an older person may struggle to see the tiny hairs. Food hygiene rating as of July 2020 was an appalling 2.... With the current climate I hate to leave a bad review as I believe local independent shops are better but in this case it was such a let down.

Had afternoon Tea for 2 , thankfully I didn’t pay for it as it was a gift from my brother. Tea and coffee served and we then waited about 25 mins for the actual ‘Tea’ to come so we had pretty much drink our drinks by the time it came . It arrived and I did say ‘is that it ‘ as I looked at the ‘sandwiches ‘ to which she said don’t worry the cakes are coming . 2 tiny squares of bread with a tiny bit of beef on. 2 tiny squares of bread with homus on, 2 bite size sausage rolls . We didn’t get 1 slice worth of bread between us ! How the chef /manager can send that out and charge £20 or so is taking the absolute mick. 2 tiny slices of carrot cake /and tiny other sweet items were served , again quality awful . I could go on . All is would say do not get a Tea here as it it complete day light robbery .

En nuestro día de golf de caridad en el Leeds Golf Centre, el curso fue magnífico y un enorme mérito para todo el personal del lugar. Es fantástico ver que el bar y el restaurante vuelven a su mejor nivel. Todo el personal de wike ridge inn fue excelente, junto con la comida y bebida que se ofrece durante todo el día. ¿Este lugar es verdaderamente el mejor lugar para todos los eventos, incluyendo el foot golf y las pizzas? son para morirse. Bien hecho todos 5 estrellas.

Write your review Below average been coming to this joint for over a decade. It's gone down hill. The pie whilst full of m8 was flavourless and boring. Wattery peas, wattery gravy and a melancholy chip to round things off (see picture). The mint sauce was served at groin level to top things off. Wireless was clearly knackered to add to the desperate ambience. I will have a kebab in future. Bin bag changed regularly mind.

Lovely food Lovely staff just over all a lovely place

Food is what you expect from a weathspoons. Last time I was in there my garlic bread was solid, usually ok. Drinks are cheap too and the atmosphere is always buzzing. Some of the staff (not all of them) need to learn to smile tho a customer facing roll and all that. I know its probably been a long and painful shift but whilst delivering food and drinks a smile with it wouldn't go a miss.

Personal muy servicial, especialmente Maddie. Todos los niños disfrutaban de sus comidas. Gran lugar para comer con la familia temprano a la hora del té cuando no hay muchos otros lugares que sirven en este momento

Food was mediocre for the price and a very long wait We was told the 2 meals for 27 was inside only, despite the sign not specifying that (it should say or be the same price in/out) the meals we had at £17 each should have been £10 - £12 at most, had better food at wetherspoons and cheaper/better quality fish & chips at the seaside One of the waitresses kept dropping food not sure if she was new or not but thats not an issue, a male waitor was constantly standing over our table which made us uncomfortable the entire meal This was by far our worst experience in York, there are far better experiences in the area which is a shame as the spot has so much potienal and we unfortunately left disappointed and let down, it was our American friends first time having Fish & Chips and it was a poor experience

Lovely atmosphere and safe environment for a solo visitor . Staff are very friendly, caring and courteous making patrons feel very welcome.

Visited while having a weekend at our sons, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, seating was good, and there was a good choice of food on the menu, starter's were ok, the wild mushroom bruschetta was really nice, but the crispy chicken not so good, mains were large, the trio of pork was very tasty,but unfortunately the fish and chips was very greasy and was sent back. Would return though because of the staff.
