Pleasant restaurant area, although a little cold. Mixed bread starter was disappointing - two small breads that were very hot having been microwaved. No real flavour to the breads at all. Steaks were well cooked and bottle of wine deal for £12 was good value. Restaurant was very quiet so there was little atmosphere.

Visited on a Friday evening for a catch up with a friend. Lovely decor and layout of rooms good, great outside area. We didn’t receive a warm welcome and after standing around for a while I approached a female member of the bar staff to ask what we needed to do to enable us to order food. We weren’t told when we first ordered our drinks that if we were thinking of ordering 2 glasses of wine we would get the rest of the bottle for free. Would have saved us at least £14! We both chose burgers (veggie beetroot and chicken with cheese sauce for me) tasty and well presented but at £12.95 thought a little expensive for general pub grub. £36 for 2 meals and 2 glasses of wine. Bar staff weren’t particularly friendly. A bit strange but there was a disco in one of the rooms? We normally go to the Swan at Winwick which is so much better and overall cost is better value and service is better and staff manage to smile.

Been a few time now, it's proper honest pub grub in a friendly atmosphere. It's a bust local pub as well which I think is a good sign - you can still go there just for a drink!

Food was dreadful- the worst roast dinner we’ve had in a long time. Meal was cold; Yorkshire pudding like cardboard; gravy tasteless; roasties were not roasted but like boiled potatoes; roasted carrots & parsnips were hard on the inside and then no crisp on the outside; food was not seasoned; meat (beef) was fatty; portion was tiny (we compared to my niece’s kids portion & it was the same); there were no greens; they didn’t have any horseradish sauce despite the menu saying the beef was served with horseradish (we got the last tiny ramekin of it). We were HUGELY disappointed, especially as we’d gone for my mum’s birthday thinking it was somewhere special. I did complain & they took a significant amount off the bill but I would much rather have paid the lot & got the meal I was hoping for. Service was ok- staff were very young and, although I appreciate they need to start somewhere, they could do with some training. ‘Manager’ who dealt with us was good. He was apologetic & said “the chefs did not deliver for you today.” We will not be returning. Get it sorted Millhouse- that was not good enough!

I had expected an Afternoon Tea as shown on Facebook. Delicate cakes, sandwiches and scones. No so. This was an Afternoon Tea from the Supermarket. Which one I am not sure. Nothing delicate about it. No tablecloth, no china but crockery fit for a canteen. Everything was cheap except the cost. This was a sensitive day for me and female members of my family so I did not want to cause a scene. On reflection some time after I sent an email to the owner care of the restaurant. He did not see fit to respond to my complaint. This definitely was a case of misrepresentation in advertising.

Four family members enjoyed a birthday lunch here just before Christmas. There was a huge choice on the menu, from lite bites through pies, fish, chicken, burgers, curries, pasta, steaks and more. The vegetarian and gluten free choices are clearly marked and the prices are suitable for every pocket. The food was cooked to perfection and served to a high standard. The staff were very friendly and efficient and I can't wait to visit again. Thank you to everyone for a truly enjoyable meal. On a side note, my one gripe was the fact that part of the restaurant was sectioned off for a funeral gathering which was clearly visible through the glass partition. It felt a little disrespectful enjoying ourselves in front of people who were there in mourning. Would it be possible to screen the two areas with curtains or blinds, thus giving the funeral party the respect they deserve and the diners the chance to celebrate without feeling guilty? I did, however, see that the food served for the wake was varied and plentiful and would certainly not hesitate in booking the venue for such an occasion myself! Just please consider making the area a little more private.

Esto se anuncia como dog friendly. Sólo una mesa en la entrada. No es mi idea de un pub que acepta perros o sentarse afuera en la zona de fumadores

Delicious Sunday Calvary at such a reasonable price. The gammon was cooked to perfection and not too salty. Good variety of veg and lovely gravy too! I’ll definitely re-visit another Sunday.

We popped in for Sunday lunch at 4 PM and were gutted to find the turkey had sold out. But the chef was brilliant—he came over three times with different alternatives to make sure we were happy. Top-notch service! We went for the beef and gammon, and when the food arrived, it was absolutely spot on—plenty of it, full of flavour, and seriously hit the spot. Washed it down with a pint of Blonde Bombshell, and by the end, we were absolutely stuffed! The pub had a nice, chilled vibe, not too busy at that time. Kids and dogs were both welcome, which was great. We would’ve loved to squeeze in dessert, but there was just no chance! Definitely recommend if you’re after a cracking Sunday roast with great service

Very friendly staff, food is delicious and the coffee/cake is outstanding. Ben was also charming and welcoming. Lynn was also very lovely, certainly worth a visit if you are popping through Market Weighton.
