Came in here for tea on a Tuesday evening, after a google search for “good food in the area”. Nice pub. Staff were lovely. It was quiet when we were there but it was out of season. Food was really good. I got the fisherman’s platter and my friend got the kleftico pie. Both were enjoyed, greatly. I would recommend this spot to others and would definitely return if I was in the area.

I had the sausage sandwich , I know it doesn't sound adventurous but when it came it came with onion gravy and chips it was a really good portion To conclude this is a pub which serves really good quality food and it's certainly not Porton controlled Well worth a visit and if you need to walk it all off the is a near by path way along the coast. I nearly forgot to.mention it has an adequate parking facilities for cars and motor homes.

We have always had lovely meals here at The Ship Inn and so we were looking forward to our lunch today and we both opted for the pie from the Pie Thursday menu. Well what a disappointment. Firstly the pies were barely warm enough but we let this go. But mine, lamb and mushroom was inedible. The lamb was tough and grisly and the base and sides of the pie was so thick, I couldn't cut through it! Its usual practice after you've been given your meal for waiting staff to check if everything is OK with your meal, but this did not happen at The Ship Inn despite it not being overly busy., we were only asked if everything was OK when the plates were being cleared away and as I'd left most of mine, I pointed out my reasons for doing so and was just told "oh sorry about that". So no idea if this will be passed onto the Chef and a standard reply given to all unsatisfied Customers! This has certainly put us off visiting again any time soon.

Gran pub.

The Ship lnn is a very popular traditional village pub. There is a bar with a dartboard, lounge, and dining room. There is a good choice of draft drinks including two hand pulled cask conditioned real ales, which were in excellent condition when we visited. I haven't tried the food, but the pub was full of people dining, and the food coming out of the kitchen looked very nice. There is a nice beer garden. The staff are very welcoming. Went for lunch in the October school holidays as it has a good beer garden and we have a dog. It was busy at the bar for ordering food but we weren’t informed just how long the wait would be. We were sat outside for over an hour waiting for our food, by which time we were very cold and the dog was shivering! The plate of fish and chips was plentiful and the chips were nice, but the fish was very pasty between the fish and the batter. There are better places for fish and chips in Bridlington. The children’s play area is good. To sum up; great play area, plenty of seating outside if you have a dog (the undercover area had smokers in it so a no go for us) and I guess it’s ok if you’re happy to wait for food. The staff are pleasant enough, they just need more kitchen staff.

Lovely beer garden on a sunny day and husband said the beer is good, BUT the food is appalling!! We went one evening last week but left without eating as there were so many complaints from people who were eating! Tried again today, in the beer garden, but bad decision! I had a rice bowl with chicken (oriental spices), but it was horrible! The chicken was barely visible, instead hidden inside a fatty crispy coating, and I think was probably thigh or even wing as so little of it! The sauce tasted like washing up liquid! Horrible. Husband had a burger but wasn't convinced it was cooked properly! We gave the Ship the benefit of the doubt after last week, but BIG mistake! Will go for a drink, but won't eat there again!

I was at the coast for a weekend break, staying in a caravan so cooking - not really an option! Quick check on google for Sunday Carvery (was craving one) and The Ship Inn came up and it was a 10 min drive from where I was staying. Really large pub, and when I arrived I spoke to a member of staff who showed me to my pre-booked table. The carvery and ordering process was explained to me. I went for the large plate, and had Turkey & Beef - both were generous portions and the vegetables were piping hot. Gorgeous Yorkshire Puds (total must) and the gravy - my goodness that lived up to the billing on the menu. The pub had a large beer garden and it was busy with lots of guests. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, especially Josh who was serving on the the carvery. I will be back when I'm in the area as this carvery definitely deserves an encore visit.

Very easy to book online with the requirement of a deposit of £7.50 per head. Very busy inside, no organisation and nobody to greet guests on arrival. All staff were busy at the bar so we made our own way to the reserved table. When we booked there was an option for dog friendly dining, carvery room dining or tap bar. There was a note to say dogs may be present in the tap bar but you would assume dogs are not allowed in the carvery dining room especially as there was no note to warn you of this. However there were dogs in the carvery dining room - great if you are travelling with dogs (and the pub is advertised as dog friendly) but not great that there isn’t one area in this pub where dogs aren’t allowed. The service at the bar was very slow but staff were helpful. Food came very quickly and had mixed reviews. Some items were good and enjoyable. Other items were very average and one meal couldn’t be eaten at all. One server asked if everything was ok during the meal but walked off immediately so didn’t give us a chance to say anything. We did however share some feedback at the end of the visit. The whole place felt very chaotic, probably not enough staff for amount of customers and no organisation for those dining. Very unlikely to return and will try The Old Forge next time.

Booked this as we weren’t sure where to eat on the first night of our stay in the area and wanted somewhere within walking distance of our hotel. We were a little early so thought we’d have a drink first. We said we had a table book and the waitress asked if we wanted to go to our table straight away which we did. We had to order at the bar which was ok and we ordered the sharing platter for £35. There was so much food! Lovely and hot (apart from the dressed crab which was amazing). We had to move to a bigger table because the platter was too big for the small table they had sat us at which was better as the small table had a broken leg and was wobbly! The decor of the pub/restaurant was old and tired which almost put me off ordering. There is however a nice outside area.

This is advertised as dog friendly. Only one table in entrance. Not my idea of a dog friendly pub Or sit outside in the smoking area

Rude young man behind bar more interested in chatting with his mates than serving (6pm Sunday) and then £1.50 for soda water…rip off! Cold and damp and no atmosphere! Won’t be back much much better pubs in town
