If you're in Bridlington, well worth the walk along the coast to this little gem. Cosy inside, yet with loads of outdoor space for kids and dogs. Nice ale as well.

Very Very Unpleasant experience earlier this month, Order some Beer and 2 glasses of Ice, questioned why wanted Ice, just for the Beer and just to cool us down as a very hot day, asked if we had our own drinks with us, then soon as we get in the beer garden, the manageress comes outside to spy on us, and whispers to other staff to keep an eye on us. then another staff member kept popping to our table every 5 mins to try take our glasses away, very unpleasant experience, we always tend to pop into Sewerby when we visit Brid, and pop into Ship inn, definitely know to avoid now, really upset our child and just an unnecessary thing to do to us, considering how many times they've had our custom before!

Booked this as we weren’t sure where to eat on the first night of our stay in the area and wanted somewhere within walking distance of our hotel. We were a little early so thought we’d have a drink first. We said we had a table book and the waitress asked if we wanted to go to our table straight away which we did. We had to order at the bar which was ok and we ordered the sharing platter for £35. There was so much food! Lovely and hot (apart from the dressed crab which was amazing). We had to move to a bigger table because the platter was too big for the small table they had sat us at which was better as the small table had a broken leg and was wobbly! The decor of the pub/restaurant was old and tired which almost put me off ordering. There is however a nice outside area.

We stayed over in the motorhome and got £15 voucher per night included in the price to spend in the pub. I was a little unsure having seen some of the negative reviews, but I have to say we were pleasantly surprised with the food and service. We could really find fault with the food, it was perfectly acceptable. We have better but also had a lot worse. Only slight criticism is the price, which is a little steep. Other than that, there are no issues, and I would recommend it.

I've been a vegetarian for over 40 years and the bean chilli was one of the worst dishes I've had in that time. The red cabbage was cut into thick strips and chunks, the seaweed was inedible and the 3 been chilli was clearly made from opening a variety of tins . Really disappointing .

We were a family of four visiting for lunch while on holiday, spent £66. VERY disappointed. Fish was overcooked, was a small size, only looked bigger due to loads of batter which was hard and very salty. Gnocchi bowl was very mediocre, bland. When we stated we were not satisfied to the sever the response was "sorry about that" they clearly didn't care and made no attempt to make it right. Hence poor review. Would not visit here again or recommend. Also a bird in a filthy cage in the bar area which was very unhygienic.

Would not recommend you to anyone due to the quality of food and selection. You really need to change the menu selection and get a new Chef. A large multiroomed pub, where most of the seating is set for eating purposes. This is indeed an eatery pub that serves the local seaside resorts around Seweby and probably Bempton. The food is an extensive platter from burgers, fish, chips, and pies. Also, sandwiches are available. There are 5 real ale handpulls available (but up to about 2 of those may not be ready to dispense at the moment of purchasing, as I have noticed on the 2 times that I have visited). These beers are generally kept well. There is also the usual supply of keg beers and spirits, etc. So, a variety of drinks and food is available throughout most of the day. It is also open at 11 am. A large good beer garden is available, which looks over towards the cliff path and coast. Also, the nearby Sewerby Hall. As seaside pubs go, this is a good one. It's probably unchaged since the 80s, which makes it a fun traditional seaside pub. Family and dog friendly with plenty of parking in the car park and overspill carpark. I think it is wheelchair accessible. I didn't see any wheelchair ramps, but a small step will need to be overcome at one of the back doors. I'm sure the staff could advise or help in any difficulties, as they seemed friendly enough on my 2 visits. All in all, it is a good pub for food, that also makes an effort to provide real ale at a good quality. A family pub.
