Visited today so the kids could have a game of pool, had a few drinks and a meal, service was fab, staff always friendly and helpful, food was lovely.

Good room and good food friendly staff

Came here to eat, not to stay. This is the third time we've been. Food is fine (typical chain pub food). Plenty of choice, decent portions. Staff are great. Efficient service. We'll definitely be back.

Friendly attentive staff, tasty food with huge portions, and a soft play area for the kids, great for families or a tasty meal and drink. We went for the Lamb Kofte ( a delicious pile of sweet potato fries, salad, fresh sliced chillies, Lamb kofte, and sauces on a large flatbread that you can eventually fold over and have a delicious wrap ), chicken tandoori sizzler ( hot skillet of tandoori chicken, peppers and onions with sides of salad, fresh sliced chillies, spicy mango chutney, mint yogurt and mini tortillas ) followed by a tasty cookie dough New York cheesecake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate drizzle 😋😊🌮🥘🍰🍻

I recently stayed at the Kingstown Hotel in Hull, and I cannot praise the experience enough, thanks largely to the incredible bar staff. A special shoutout to Georgia, Laura, and George, who truly made my stay unforgettable. As someone traveling alone, it can sometimes feel daunting to walk into a bar or lounge. However, from the moment I arrived, these three went above and beyond to make me feel welcome—almost like part of their extended family. They were always smiling, laughing, and genuinely engaging with everyone who came through the door. Whether it was a friendly chat, quick service, or just their vibrant energy, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Their warmth and professionalism completely transformed my experience. While there were a few staff members who weren't quite as friendly or as professional. Georgia, Laura, and George more than made up for it. Their positivity and attentiveness are worth visiting for alone! I wholeheartedly recommend the Kingstown Hotel to anyone, not just for its amenities, but for the outstanding hospitality from these three. They are a credit to the hotel and the kind of people who turn a stay into a memorable experience. Thank you again, Georgia, Laura, and George—you made my time at the Kingstown Hotel exceptional!

Meal good, service good ,every where clean ,staff helpful .

5 of us friends met up for meal and it was great service and food.

I eat here with my mum & son regularly and the food is always great, the service is always fast and the staff are so friendly and welcoming and are always happy to go the extra mile to make your visit better. Having the soft play for the toddler as well is amazing so he can burn some energy after dinner! Haven’t stayed at the hotel so can’t comment on that although I’m sure it’s also lovely!

Came for a birthday lunch today and the food was quick once ordered and very good.

Food was brilliant again today which it normally is, however after eating we went into the soft play. While our children were playing we ordered a couple of hot drinks. 30 minutes and several more customers came in and ordered food / drink and received theirs, we were still waiting. We asked about the drinks and the lady working had completely forgotten what we had ordered. So after 40 minutes we received our drinks 1 of which in a dirty cup. Normally I would of just wiped it away and carried on but after waiting so long it wasn't acceptable.

We have our birthday meal here every year and the food was delicious. We have various meals including a dairy free meal and were given help with what foods were safe etc. the staff were lovely and friendly.

Visited recently with family, there was 8 of us so reasonable size group. We were notified when being seated there could be up to half an hour wait on food, no problem. Starts came out pretty quick and party all enjoyed the food. We then waited approximately 50 minutes for the mains, this isn't too bad but for the whole time the dishes from our starters remained on the table and were still there when the mains arrived. We had to clear the plates ourselves to make room for the mains, which for the most part were lukewarm and dry. A few of the party ordered desserts, again when these arrived the starter and main dishes were still on our table. Food was what you would expect for the prices although would of been better if it had not sat for so long. Could of gone lower then 4 stars but like to give benefit of the doubt that this wasn't the usual.

My daughters' first room had a problem with the heating. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, finding them an alternative room, during an obviously busy period. Many thanks, highly recommended

Iwhen in Hedon my favourite place friendly staff, helpful and always smiling could ask for better service and the rooms are excellent.

Chips were dry and roasts were over cooked but overall nice

Gave this resteraunt a chance for a birthday meal for 12. Meals were luke warm and very small portions. I had an all day breakfast which tasted like it had been made all day! 5 very small mushrooms and a sausage that could break a window with bacon only cooked on one side. All garlic breads were burnt and the baked potato must of been done in a microwave. The desert menu is fine but they have almost nothing in stock. Use another hungry horse/green king as this one doesnt deserve your money. Spoilt the birthday bash altogether

The manager Ashley is absolutely lovely. Cannot do enough to help. All the staff are super helpful and I would recommend this place to anyone!

Simple but very clean and spacious room. Great shower. Service in the bar/restaurant a little slow when busy. Food was good pub grub well cooked, huge portions! The staff, especially Karen and Megan were delightful, cheerful and helpful, especially with my elderly and infirm parents who were also staying as they moved house. Many thanks. We will be back!

This place is like whistling goose. Turning into a Chavs paradise. Desperate need of change of management,and staff. They waltz around in a world of their own, not giving a toss to customers who pay expensive prices,which in turn pays their wages.

Such a nice place to come especially for family, play area is so good, service is fast, lots of room for pram, and children’s mini tv inside each booth to keep them content, staff are polite and love it, deffo going to come back!!!

Been for food here a few times. It’s quick, easy & the prices are good. Not somewhere you’d go for a planned meal out but certainly somewhere ideal to pop in for a coffee/ pint/ kids meal etc. kinda the same vibe as a fancy maccies & has a small soft play area for the kids which is free for under 1’s.

Staff very helpful and polite. Short staffed but they worked hard with a smile on their faces .

Rooms are a bit dated but clean. We have stopped here a few times for visiting family. Food is the best I have had consistently here with this pub group but the derby branch is by far the worst even with new menu. But here at Hedon the staff do the best with what they have and we look forward to staying here again. Thank you.

We come here frequently and we're never disappointed! We usually eat the burgers, breakfasts or the steak pies and they are 10/10 on the quality. Portions are huge, the quality is amazing and the service is always welcoming and friendly. If you're passing through or even let going for somewhere local to enjoy more regular, you should definitely try this place.

We come here all the time. Meals are affordable & very very nice. The staff are always lovely, service always great. Never had a bad experience. The kids also love it here too. If not the play area, the tvs in the booths are always great.

Didn’t have to wait very long despite lunchtime. Food very good. All cooked perfectly. I had the salmon combo others mini mixed grill and burger. All enjoyed. Served by very pleasant friendly staff.

Absolutely beautiful food. Me and my partner had steak , 1 medium and 1 medium rare and both were done perfectly. Friendly service too.

Came here for tea with my 7 year old daughter, friendly and efficient staff, clean and tidy eating area, food was lovely I had the chicken newyorker and my daughter had mac n cheese then we both had mini millionaires brownie.

The location is what it is, I chose it as it suited my needs and i didnt have high expectations, I wasn't prepared for what I ĝot. Staff realy friendly, room clean and tidy, bed superb, no night time noise. Then let's mention the food.... wow 👌 1st night got the 'full monty', couldn't eat it all and the steak seemed quality so second night I went for the 11oz rump. This was a £35 meal at a third of the cost ! I've eaten a lot of steaks in some posh Brazilian restaurants.... this was better. Could not fault this place and the staff, certainly will be putting this on my list of places to stay if I'm anywhere near enough to visit again.

Had a lovely meal with family. Great service, no long wait and the food was hot and plentiful. Will definitely be back to try the baked Alaska trifle, unfortunately I was just too full.

Working at the power station just up the road so location is ideal, room is big and clean if a little dated but it has been cold and the radiator has not come on once. The food is incredible value and tasty and the staff all seem to cope with the high footfall very well,my food as come out very fast and has been tasty. Keep up the good work on the pub side and can we have a little heat when needed hotel side please😁

I am writing to confirm Mr Steven coopers review was both correct and true and my 10 year old son was seriously ill with diarrhea and sickness after eating your chicken coupons build your own tacos 🌮 children's meal I took my son to doctors and it was confirmed that he had food poisoning 5 months ago just as Mr cooper had stated so yes it is a strong but truthful allegation and I would not recommended your restaurant to anyone after our experience so do not try and say it did not happen when I can prove it did

We was using the hotel as a base whilst visiting family and friends for our belated wedding party over the weekend. On arrival we checked in to find our room was very dated, the room stank of curry, the bed was broken (didn’t realise until the evening when it was too late to move rooms) and bathroom light didn’t work (bulb was swiftly changed). After a restless night, this issue was rectified quickly by reception and we moved to the room next door - again very dated decor but a much comfier bed. The hotel is in need of significant investment and is no where near the standard of Premier Inn (for example) that is in a similar price range.

Went out for meal for 4 chicken was tiny frozen fries, the cheeseburger was stone cold with a processed cheese slice, the mixed grill the sausage was cooked in morning and kept warm all day the steak asked for medium it come very rare, gammon was just salt and tepid warm best part of meal was BBQ sauce (heinz bottle), all 4 meals left

Do not eat here veg and potatoes all frozen and meat is sliced deli meat I asked for cranberry sauce to go with my turkey and they didn't have any only mint I certainly will not be back
