Friendly staff and nice atmosphere

Very clean and an enjoyable place to visit

First time here and we loved it the staff were friendly and helpful the bar and garden look amazing and the food was better here than other weather spoons we've been to I definitely recommend this bar to everyone

My parent's experienced a very rude member of staff who wouldn't allow them into the premises because my father had a therapy dog, who he takes everywhere with him. He is disabled and has PTSD. The women who ever she was ( wont name and shame ) basically shooed them out the door and I am disappointed with how they were treated. They go to alot of wetherspoons around the area especially 3 tuns in Thirsk which their staff and manager are lovely and allow assistant therapy dogs inside. This time they had to leave and go else where and sadly the place lost business and will have for future reference. Please train your staff to be polite and have good customer service or they shouldn't work in hospitality!

I like Wetherspoons pubs, but why on Earth do they have cameras in the toilets? Is that even legal? This isn’t East Germany in the 1980’s.

Arrived approx 6.30, the place was about 30% full. Difficult to find a table that was not piled high with used crockery or glasses. Sat down at a table that was filthy with food smears. Got tabled wiped, ordered food and drink from the app. Food arrived 15 mins later, asked where drinks were, was told they would be along soon. Had to ask the manager again for the drinks, which had been sat on the bar all along. This is without doubt the worst Wetherspoons I have ever visited. The staff are lazy and inefficient, don't care about cleanliness.

Great friendly atmosphere and food it everything you expect from Wetherspoons, good friend, friendly staff. We went at about lunchtime and even though it was busy. Our food and drinks turned up quickly. Highly recommended if you want a bite to eat in Northallerton.

You know what you get in a Wetherspoons. Low priced drinks, clean with great service and half decent basic food. Yes? Unfortunately here, my expectations were not aimed low enough! We sat outside, ordered food with drinks on the app. Place wasn’t particularly busy but after 15mins I had to chase the order thinking there was an issue with my payment. Looking around there were filthy tables, food all over the floors very poor. Food arrived after nearly 20 mins. No drink? Waitress said they shouldn’t be long. 10 mins later, no drinks. We had got halfway through our meal Went to the bar to find what was obviously our drink having sat there for quite a while ended up getting my own ? Back outside my meal was cold. Back in to complain. Manager arrived who, tbf was great, apologised and fully refunded our order. Standard has dipped hugely considering it was a fairly recent Spoons of about 18 months old. I’ll be a long time before we return

Saturday morning breakfast with my son and his wife. I had the large full English and it was a great way to start the weekend. It fed me till evening. I will be doing this again.

Wetherspoons Northallerton, please get a grip and wipe the tables down. All the tables are disgusting, with food, drink stains and cigarette ash. It’s not hard to clean a table! Shame as this is a lovely pub, but let down by an easy fix.

Nice Spoonz with friendly staff and atmosphere...enjoyed a bit of breakfast on a recent trip to North Yorkshire. Always call if I'm up North Yorks, one of my favourites to visit.

A large place with a lovely beer garden at the back. Staff very helpful. No car park but parking near by.

Usually untidy or even dirty and too many parents with young kids in drinking during the day. Staff always cheerful but last time we visited the meal was overdone. Most times the food is better than the environment.

Good, quick tasty. A few more chips on plate and would have been brilliant. Best one yet we have been to

How can so many things be sold out or unavailable on a Monday afternoon? We've never seen this number of items unavailable at any other Wetherspoon before, and have never had anywhere near this issue here before after half a dozen visits. A pity. Will be checking the app before we visit again in the future.

A always port of call when I visit Northallerton, we stopped in for a bit of brunch and as always the food was cooked but due to 4 different types of breakfast some was just warm when it was served to us. We excepted this as the pub was busy and a Saturday to boot.

American cheese burger chips and drinks the burger was very well done black and chips only lukewarm served on cold plates. We were never asked if we wanted condiments or if our food was okay. Very poor food. We will not be returning.

Disappointing today really. Popped in for breakfast on Father's day, had to clean my own table. Chaotic start. Food ok though. Then Coffee machine overwhelmed.. Skeleton staff?

I'm an avid supporter of spoons but will call it out when they fall short. The buck however is cracking, just like most I visit. Friendly staff, good service and good beers. Food also well up to standard. Great little outside area and plenty of seating inside too. It's my nearest spoons so I'm glad it's this good.

Tables, furniture and floor absolutely filthy. Looks like a squatters camp. Food was of good quality though. A deep clean would make all the difference.

It was first time up Northallerton to celebrate my daughter birthday with my son, really enjoyed it.

I've eaten and drank here several times before; but apart from staff forgetting the odd food item or the occasional dirty-looking glass being served with drinks, it's just another Spoons Pub. But recently (Monday May 13th), I went with friends for lunch and a quick drink before a hiking trip. We all used the app and complained about what a hassle it always is to use, confirming payment in banking apps and all that hassle... Once some drinks were served and some of the food, we noticed some items were missing (not uncommon in this place for them to forget the odd item). We asked about them and were told nothing else was on their system... I checked my app and it said there was an issue after I had confirmed payment with my bank. So, I had to go to the bar; waited a rather long time to be seen even though multiple members of staff were present at the bar. I showed them the order on the app, asked if I could just pay for it there in cash, and got my drink poured while I was at the bar... The woman at the bar poured two pints and handed them to me. I asked if this was for table 213, and she very clearly acknowledged that she "knows it's table 213." Thinking, 'Oh, one of the lads on the table has ordered this, or maybe the order on the app has caught up with their system? Eitherway I'll carry it to the table for them...' I thanked the staff member and went back to my table with the two pints, placed them down, and went to get condiments for my meal... By the time I got back to the table, the same woman who poured the pints and confirmed with me that they were for table 213 had taken one of the pints that she blatantly handed to me and told the table I had stolen it from the bar. I was then approached and threatened with action taken against me if anything happened again. No quiet words, a whole song and dance in front of everyone in the beer garden. Rather than admit she made a mistake, she tried to make a spectacle of the whole ordeal and threatened me when all she had to do was apologize for the mix-up, and I would have even GLADLY paid for the extra pint. So I will never eat or drink here either by myself, or with company again. If anyone asks me where to go for anything in Northallerton, it wont be the spoons I will be pointing them towards anymore. Never had food just popped in for a coffee nice clean establishment and good polite staff.

What Happened!! We came in some time ago and the only thing stopping 5 stars was the smoking area. Now it's lucky to get 1 star! We found a table outside and ordered via the app. When the drinks arrived we asked if the tables could be cleaned? There was ash (even though it's a no smoking area) and what looked like mayonnaise smeared across the table. We were told it would be about 5 minutes. I had to take my drink to the bar to exchange it after I noticed lipstick on the glass. By the time I'd got back to the table, the food had arrived. My partner asked if the table could be cleaned and the server just wiped the ash off, pointing out that "it's just a bit of ash", so I went to find someone who would actually wipe it down. On my way back to the table, I trod in something that I'm not sure was food, vomit or feces! So if you like your food tasting of whatever nearby vapers are exhaling and coming away feeling unclean, you'd love it. Asking where the toilets are seemed like a chore for an answer. We won't be returning and I doubt we'll be missed. The images of the table don't do it justice sadly.

The food was terrible unfortunately. I didn’t know I could go wrong with a cheese pizza, and apple crumble.

Alway good to go to any Wetherspoons and this one no different. Makes a change to leave not feeling overcharged, thanks Tim Martin👍

I love a Wetherspoons, the same drinks so much cheaper. This is in a nice building at one end of the high street. Beer at 90's prices, what's not to like!

Its a weatherspoons, cheap drink, no music. Not a long walk for the toilet in this one, which is good. Bar service is not the greatest, but I've had worse.

Don't know whether they had staffing problems that day, food was luke warm when served.

I gave five stars for food because it’s a Wetherspoons and you get watch you pay for, £8 for a katsu curry and a drink , lovely inside and out 👍🏻

Lovely pub, staff are very friendly and go above and beyond. Food is lovely, never had a bad meal. Beer garden is a lovely addition to this pub, nice and big and areas undercover with heating.

Bar staff very nice people. Will always help you out. Great value great pub.

Never had a Spoons curry club for ages, visited last Thursday. Food was excellent, served quite quick and piping hot. First time in the pub, lovely pub and great atmosphere. Defo worth a visit if you’re in the town.

My breakfast came and my hasbrown was winking at me as it came with its own eyelash. I couldn't eat it after this it put me off.

Well just popped in for a coffee,2 coffees and refills for £3.12 unbelievable value for money.

We had the curry the large one for like 10.50 or so on a Thursday night the curry came out it was luk warm and rice lmfao had 1 large table spoon of rice also came with 2 poppadoms and a garlic nan and anyone would.of fort they just got a tin of oil and poured it over the top of everything Neva will I order from here again food bland warm just about

The pub doesn’t improve, I go there regularly for a drink with a friend, but whilst the quality and prices of the food and beers may acceptable the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. The staff appear to be overrun by the amount of work they appear to be doing, this is always obvious in the piles of dirty plates and glasses that pile up in wash area and the dirty greasy tables we encounter most weeks. It can at times also be difficult to get served with drinks as there may be 8 plus people waiting to be served and only one person serving. This is undoubtedly the worst Wetherspoons I have visited which number many.

Such a pity - it would be quite fine with more staff and food served when it was prepared. I’m looking at 11 plates under the warmers, waiting to be taken to the tables, all going relatively cold. More staff desperately needed - feel sorry for the ONE trying to serve - not good enough -

This was great when it first opened. But I feel now a lot of little cafes in Northallerton have closed. Wetherspoons is getting all the business and it's not got enough staff. The service is very slow. Food comes cold because there's not enough waitresses, to clear tables and serve food. This is a big Wetherspoons More staff needed urgently why not ring an agency?.?

The food was nit as I would expect from wetherspoon ,hot and spicy half chicken was undercooked and not nice ,very few chips which is unnecessary considering they are frozen chips .guiness was good ,atmosphere was OK. But won't eat there again

Had breakfast here this morning, the food was appalling. I had to ask for it to be heated in microwave as it was cold.The chef plated about 15 breakfast up with his bare hands not using any tongs or gloves, he handled sausage, hash brown toast, and chucked them on to plates.i would not have stayed if I had known, it has only since I complained of stomach aches my partner he told me what he witnessed the chef doing.i have phoned the buck and was told they wash there hands every 12 minutes! My partner was facing the counter we were there about an hour no hand washing took place. In any case washing hand every 12 minutes is not a good explanation for not using tongs and handling raw and cooked food and egg shells with bare hands. Disgusting.

Nice pub, quick service to the table using the app and good value. Food portions can sometimes be on the small side but it varies from visit to visit.

Clean 'spoons. An appealing feature is small booths for two with dimmable lights and usb charging sockets. The outside space has open tables for sunlit eating and drinking and there are also booths with tables. Didnt try these so I don't know if they have lights installed.

Good cheap place to get a tasty full breakfast on a weekend. Don't come here to drink as I think it would be quite busy due to how cheap the drinks are. Glad the town has a Wetherspoons 👍

Love it here the staff are excellent in accommodating people with needs too.Had a small pizza and refillable all day cappuccino for less than 6 pounds too.Very handy for the local bus stop too so I take a book and am always made SO welcome while waiting for my bus .The staff are exceptionally accommodating and are The Buck Inns best asset many many thanks to all.

The Buck Inn is a large, smart bar but …… well, it’s a Wetherspoons. Now, if I’m out on my own or with mates, we will sometimes use Wetherspoons, but when I’m with my lovely wife it really is the last resort. The reason is that it is almost impossible to get a decent half pint of lager in a Wetherspoons and in the Buck, although the barman poured a pint and a half perfectly, he seemed bemused when I pointed out that, whereas the pint glass had bubbles going from bottom to top, the half pint glass was completely devoid of a single bubble. I asked him about this and his response that Wetherspoons don’t make the glasses meant that any further discussion of widgets and glasses becoming useless through frequent washing were pretty pointless and I may as well have been speaking Serbo-Croat. So / for the manager at the Buck - any explanation re why you can never get a vibrant half of lager, in a “working” glass in a Wetherspoons?

Great food and drink for the price. Always clean and tidy with friendly staff. A first choice for many.

The last time we were here was a good year ago and I couldn't fault it, but last night we went for a family meal and it was very disappointing. The mixed grill was dry and chewy, the lasagne was very obviously microwaved and tasted awful. For the price we paid it was disappointing. The lemon and herb chicken & the chips were lovely, but again for the price it was a small portion. Great place for drinks and some side dishes, but I'd avoid the main meals and avoid if your soul intention is to have a meal.

Came to the Buck yesterday afternoon/ evening, staff were all brilliant particularly the barman with beard who memorised our round of six drinks every time! Really enjoyable day, well done.

One of the "true gems" of the Wetherspoon-chain franchise, superb in all respects.

Food was of good value as usual, table service polite, toilets fortunately cleaner than the tables!. They were absolutely filthy, we wouldn’t put out arms on them , before during and after our visit. This situation was across the board after inspecting other tables in the establishment. To the best of our knowledge after eating in a lot of Weatherspoons these tables are the worst. No attempt was made by staff after clearing when customers had left were they wiped down.

Fast and friendly service, great atmosphere and excellent prices.

Place is nice. Service was slow. Only one at bar around 12.30pm Ordered chicken dinnerl. Less than a tablespoon of gravy in a jug. Asked for more but it was chargeable and you were expected to join queue at bar to order some more. Hopeless and food was unnecessarily dry !!

Great pub only thing to complain about is tables need a good clean.

We often go into the Buck Inn Northallerton for a drink. The quality and the price of drinks is very good however this is let down by the piles of plates, glasses etc waiting to washed in the washing up area and some of the tables which are often extremely dirty and sticky.

Just enjoyed a lovely breakfast this morning. Very pleasant service and the food was excellent 👌 very hot and fresh. Would definitely recommend

Service was slow compared to other 'Spoons. Went before my hospital appointment and ended up being late.

Fight going on in the back yard, food being sent back (burnt garlic bread ffs) , my son being accused of drinking my pint, wet sticky tables, menu items not available, very aggressive staff member. After 2 visits I'm done.

Excellent 'Spoons. Good food, well kept and varied choice of ales, quick service and a very nice atmosphere inside. Staff all seemed happy and were friendly and chatty. Easy parking right outside and only a very short walk from town centre. Highly recommended.

Typical Weatherspoons pub. Nicely refurbished pub, good service, basic reasonably priced food. It has a nice outside courtyard for warmer days. The only thing I never understand about Weatherspoons is why they don't allow dogs not even in the outside spaces. If we've been walking and have my dog with me I use another pub as cant leave her in the car.

Restaurant chain present in several places in England where you can eat and drink more cheaply! Chopp is usually half the price of other PUBs.

I've been here a couple of times, and food is always great. Tables are cleaned regularly, and the wait times are never too long unless packed. The outdoor area is lovely, and the heaters are a nice touch. 9/10 would recommend
