The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

Popped in midweek and had an incredible meal! The service and atmosphere couldn't be faulted. Likewise the food was some of the best I've had in the city centre for a very long time- the Butternut squash wellington is a must try. Will definitely be returning soon!!

Always my go to place when I'm in Leeds. The chips in this place are amazing.

The final night of our week's holiday in the local area we didn't want to cook and my wife had spotted mussels on the menu as we walked past during the day. Booked a table, although there were a number of tables available throughout our meal. Pleasant and attentive staff and a good selection on the menu, including daily specials. A no-rush enjoyable meal and would have stayed to listen to the Irish live music next door if suitcase packing had not been a priority. Well worth a visit.

I often meet with friends at The Barn Kitchen for lunch/afternoon tea and it has always been lovely. However, I met with a friend there for a late lunch yesterday and had booked the table for 3pm. I knew they were open until 4.30pm so we assumed we had plenty of time to eat our main course and then have a hot drink and some cake afterwards. We ate our main course and having waited for quite a while for someone to clear our plates and to ask if we wanted anything else, at 10 past 4 we eventually asked one of the staff if we could order something else. He said he would ask and came back and said they had stopped serving and the kitchen was closed. We asked if we could order some cake and a hot drink, even if it was to take outside. He went back and a blonde lady came over and quite abruptly told us they stopped serving food at 3.45 and asked what we wanted. When we told her what our order would have been she said they had run out so we couldn't have had it anyway so we left and got a drink and some cake from the main shop. None of that would have been a problem if the person who took our order had warned us we wouldn't be able to order anything else after 3.45pm as we would have ordered it all at the same time ... or even if the staff had just been a little more polite about the fact the kitchen was closed ... or perhaps just don't accept bookings for 3pm as it gives customers the impression they have longer than they think!

Tuvimos un gran día en el parque de vida silvestre de Yorkshire, encontramos este lugar como la mejor comida cercana. . . no decepcionó, filete casero y pastel de cerveza y patatas fritas. . . patatas fritas también. Esposa tenía brocheta de cordero marroquí e informó que era encantador también. Personal amable, buenos precios, se sentó fuera en la hermosa verranda limpia. . . lo que no es de gustar. volveremos!

Called in on Thursday ( VE day) the beer was really nice and we sat outside to watch the celebrations... it was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were so nice and friendly..we even got a free burger ! Would recommend the Shoulder of Mutton Inn.! X

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Blue Bell. We can’t rate it highly enough. Really superb food, excellent selection of drinks and the customer service was outstanding. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Llamé de camino a casa desde Dalby Forest. Tuvimos cenas de domingo que eran mediocres en el mejor de los casos. Luke caliente, asados duros como roca y pudín. Comimos a las 4 de la tarde, pero si no puedes mantener la frescura y la calidad de la comida, debes dejar de servir antes. Se lo mencionamos a un miembro del personal que dijo “lo siento” y se fue. Las tres mesas que estaban a nuestro alrededor también se quejaron y enviaron comida de vuelta. No volvería ya que simplemente no valía la pena. El Jolly Sailors más adelante en la carretera de los páramos es un millón de veces mejor.
