Really enjoyed my trip and a great pint of Guinness. Only a 4 cos the advertised band never played.

Great band Holy Diva with a good variety of real ales

Tucked away from the busy roads nearby this is a unique retreat and if you’re into rock music will find much to admire. The wooden interior is unique and feels like there’s a lot of history. There’s two different sections when you enter, with the music stage in one and the same staff serving between the two. They were friendly enough and very efficient - helping each other out when things got busy and knowing people’s orders proactively which was great. Prices were reasonable given the location and I’ll certainly be returning for a relaxing drink.

Market traders/Musicians are very dangerous. I have been attacked for years by bikers & hitmen.

This pub serves about 15 different real ales, which are well kept and reasonably priced. There is also a large selection of ciders, lagers, Guinness and spirits. As well as a good selection of traditional snacks, they serve some really tasty pork pies. Lots of music memorabilia adorns the walls. They host live music and have an open mic night. Customers span all drinking age groups and the atmosphere is very friendly. This is largely down to the hard-working, knowledgeable, friendly and cheerful staff There is a seating out front and a very large beer garden out back with plenty of shelter. It's claim to fame was being used in the film 'The Bank of Dave' where it is used to represent a bar in Burnley! This is my favourite bar in Leeds!

Very busy when we called in for a few beers. Very friendly locals and a good choice of beer. Well worth finding, if you're in Leeds.

Great pub, one of the best, but too expensive for me as a casual attendee. £4.80 for the cheapest real ale pint. If you like your music, it great. Told by staff, higher prices pay for bands. Sign of a changing Leeds City Centre. Bought just one fine pint.

Tengo un hipo pedido de comida mi estado mental y físico estaba empeorando me estaba poniendo nervioso e irritado pedí comida sé que era un sábado y estaba ocupado pero expliqué la situación en la que estaba fue totalmente ignorada empeoró entonces una joven se acercó para servirme se enojó porque juré que me disculpo si lo hice pero en ese momento no sabía lo que estaba haciendo finalmente me dieron un paquete de papas fritas y un pastel de cerdo traído seguido de seguridad para matarme ya que estaba teniendo un incidente de diabetes por favor, recapacite a su personal a ciertos problemas que la gente tiene y si causé algún malestar me disculpo sinceramente

I've always liked the "D n D". If you want live bands and decent beer this is a brilliant pub. It is violence free and trouble, which I, for one have never seen, is soon taken care of.

Great pub of character. The Bank of Dave was filmed there. Real ale is served there. Well worth a visit 👍

The place its self is a landmark of Leeds the bar staff especially jade are more than welcoming and friendly lovely little noisy cosy nook to retreat and have a pint and the beer garden a phenom all in its self

Was on our first ever visit to Leeds to visit family member . Family members husband is a regular visitor to the Duck &Drake and told us he would be there on our arrival day. Nice friendly atmosphere ,lovely beer garden

Always a must when going into Leeds. Just round the corner from the market, and always very large selection of real ales. Very large beer garden round the back with huge brollies for shelter.

Bar staff were very rude. Rushed us into finishing our drinks so they could remove us from outside to set up for an event. One of the barmaids did nothing but complain about working to everyone, in full earshot of the punters. It's a shame, it's my first ever visit here and I've always looked forward to trying it. But a disappointed experience means I'll probably never return

A grand pub. The outside is a very well presented area. Always a great atmosphere and always friendly. Great selection of beers and soft drinks.

Great old style boozer, a good crowd in the early evening.

Classic old boozer, not changed much in 30 years. Plenty of cask ales, old school decor and with two distinct sides like pubs used to have! If you want airs and graces don't come here, but if you want good cask ale in a down to earth proper pub then this is one of the best in town.

What a blast from the past this place was, reminding me of pubs in my 80s Uni days, even flock wallpaper. Polite helpful staff too! Will go back one day for the live music

Beer has gone really down hill over last 2 years, various beers like piss, standards have gone to shot. Don't know what is going on, need to get a grip not even cheap ffs. Went tonight and was not offering a fresh pint of landlords when beer was like tea? They said it was OK??.

Traditional pub fairly central to the City Centre. A nice walked beer garden. The staff were ok with the sensitive subject of the removing the sparkler on the hand pumps. Three good beers were enjoyed.

Decent pint, a bit quiet when we came, a nice selection of real ales. Mainly heavy rock music over speakers, I think I would come again next time I come to Leeds for the real ale choices

An old-fashioned and atmospheric city central area boozer. Great for real ales and selections. There are no frills in this place but a very good atmosphere. If you like pubs with live music, then this is the venue. The gents toilets take you back to the Edwardian era, at least. No CAMRA members discounts but reasonable prices for the city central location.

Great beer, free music, proper pub, quick service, no waiting for girls wanting 4 cocktails when you only want a pint.

What a cracking venue! Right in the heart of Leeds with love music almost every night, great beers and a great atmosphere! Highly recommend!

Excellent no frills traditional pub. Excellent beer, well kept. Good service. Ossett beer is particularly good.

The definition of old school watering hole. On a Monday afternoon it was pretty quiet. Music was good but the clientele was a bit sad. The side of the drinking you don’t wanna end up on. Regardless, clearly a live music venue with a stellar draft/cask list to boot. The usual suspects plus many more. The first time I’ve ever seen Golden Best on cask and for £4.30 I immediately said fire it up! Overall in a great area of town being near the touristy markets of the Corn Exchange and Kirkgate. Can’t go wrong here. A legendary pub for a reason.

I went there for the beer garden as they have one. Ordered a beer and than found out the beer garden was closed. Asked the staff why and they had no reason. Wouldn't recommend

Cracking beer and very good pork pies

The Duck and Drake is one of the must go to pubs in Leeds as it has everything a beer drinker wants. The beer is always on top form and there is quite a lot to choose from. I had the two wilde child cask ales, and i can honestly say the gimme s'more was one of the best pints I've ever had, we went to Wilde child the following day and it was on there and the D&D was much better. I also had a pint of the Bank of Dave named after the film of the same name which was partly filmed there. A great traditional pub that is simply awesome.

It's good and it's close. Much cheaper than my local corner shop. Would recommend, just don't try to make eye contact with the miserable lady that sometimes works there. She'll melt your soul!

Proper English pub with proper locally brewed beers. Called ona Friday night after an event in Leeds, on route back to the train station. There was a live band playing blues and rockabilly style music - brilliant! Friendly locals and hard working bar staff who seemed to know instinctively who was next to be served. Great night, highly recommended.

Didn’t park there while waiting for a friend. There’s an arts and crafts shop nearby that is not relevant. The bar itself is great, good beer, live music and tasty pork pies to keep one’s stomach lined.

Great selection of beers in an amazing venue. The beer garden is one of the best in Leeds.

I used to use this place a lot a few years ago, and wrote a complimentary review in 2015. However much has clearly changed. Pricing used to be low-end, now it's upper end, which I suppose may be due to things out of their control. However, the staff attitude on the midweek lunchtime we visited was appalling. The chap clearly didn't want to be there, treated customers with contempt, and had an expression on him as though he had just suffered a bereavement. When I asked for a pint to be topped up as the head was over an inch he actually became rude and defensive. We won't be troubling them again.

I don't get in here as often as I once did. It was like I'd never been away. I went on a late Saturday afternoon and the place had a very lively trade. The feeling was very cordial and sedate. I was on my lonesome and I caught one or two people's eye and they were really friendly. Service was quick and efficient and the TT Golden Best that I sampled was the best, it was beautiful. A really good city centre pub...... Don't change a thing!

Had a great live band on and great selection of beers. For a busy night guinness was pretty damn tasty! Worth a visit!

Very handy for the bus station, clean toilets, warm and comfortable .Friendly and adequate staff. And most of all GREAT BEER AT A SENSIBLE PRICE.

Pub as the same acts nearly every month and many not that good, beers overpriced and decor inside the pub is like the pub in general Boring and should have closed down years ago to make way for Housing for local residents at least something good would have come out of knocking down a boring pub who charges extortionate prices for flat beer
