Nice atmosphere and staff were attentive but the food was a let down. Mainly the vegan roast dinner was terrible, and costs £17.10, we complained to the staff that the roast was not good enough and had little reaction. If you are not equipped to cook vegan food do not put it on the menu.

We booked here for a family Sunday get-together and were immediately greeted by friendly staff. The pub had a lively atmosphere, and we were seated in a cosy corner. We ordered starters and the Sunday Roast, both of which were home-cooked and absolutely delicious—the best we've had in a long time! A big thank you to all the staff; your warm and welcoming service was a breath of fresh air.

Upon taking my family out for Sunday lunch today 4 adults a child and a 14 week old baby a bill of £160 just before we were about to order desserts asked for the baby’s bottle to be filled with 150ml of boiling water to be told I would be charged £1.50, granted the manager who isn’t the owner at my dismay didn’t charge me but was disgruntled!! In the last 14 weeks we’ve to many restaurants and cafes and never ever been charge absolutely disgusting . We definitely won’t be going back just for the values of the owner and manager ‘well you wouldn’t get it for free if you were at home’ !! Wasn’t a great Sunday dinner either for £17.50 the mushy orange stuff was awful and the beef was fatty veiny and cheap, roast potatoes dry and burnt !

Don't visit this place if you have a dog unless it can understand the need to be subjacated! Extremely rude man insistent that the dog must be under the table despite there being no food involved. Delivery and attitude is everything but being spoken to in such a manner is unacceptable. Will never visit again! Update: Just to clarify since your response is inaccurate. If I had been spoken in a manner resembling common courtesy then I would not have felt the need to leave. Either change your dog policy or your attitude!

I’ve been to the white horse loads over the years but felt disappointed on this occasion. Prices are high for what you get. Burger and chips nearly £19 and hardly any chips. Noodle dish was ok. Staff never asked if we wanted any menus despite asking about food, they didn’t ask if we enjoyed it, just felt like too much effort. Won’t be returning any time soon. A snap decision to dine out prompted a call to the White Horse, booking a table for two in 20 minutes time - done ! Attentive staff (who knew what they were doing) saw us seated and took the drinks order (which arrived within a minute or two). Starters (garlic mushrooms and haddock goujons) arrived very quickly - and were delicious. Plates cleared quickly and mains delivered to the table with perfect timing - a nice touch where many restaurants fall down. The food itself (Caesar salad and Scampi) was fresh and well presented, with generous portions - and (again) delicious. We've eaten here before and the service just seems to go from strength to strength. Definitely worth a visit, just to see the Specials Board ! Five stars all round.

I came here with my niece to celebrate her 18th birthday on the 7th of June 2024. I must say from the minute we arrived to the minute we left we were extremely well looked after by Gemma and her wonderful colleague. The service from both of them was first class and so professional. The food here is absolutely, first class and you get plenty of food for what you pay. I can highly recommend The large scampi and if it is on the specials menu the battered squid. Both dishes that I had were absolutely amazing and there was a very good standard with the food as well. we finished off with dessert and I must admit my jam roley-poley and custard and my niece had the apple pie and vanilla custard and you got plenty of dessert and they definitely do not skimp on the portion sizes. I urge everybody to come and give this wonderful pub/restaurant a visit as I am sure you will not be disappointed because we definitely weren’t. The staff here was so helpful to me and once they realised I was blind they were very helpful indeed especially when I was trying to locate the card machine. I cannot rate this place highly enough and I will if I can be definitely coming back to this place for more gorgeous food. Thank you, everybody for making it a wonderful visit.

We called to this pub because it said it was dog friendly. We won’t be back. It was a very unfriendly atmosphere, not even a hello when we arrived. Most dog friendly places offer a few dog treats or a bowl of water but there was nothing. There’s a sign on the door saying dogs must be on the floor, under a table and on a lead… then when we sat down we could see the same sign in 4 different places, it was on every wall space, at the bar… all over. Honestly it’s not a very nice environment at all. Should say “dogs tolerated” not dog friendly. The heating was blasting out even at the end of May and it wasn’t a cold day, it was roasting. The drinks were very expensive compared to other local venues. The toilets are like a Wetherspoons hike away from the bar. Outside areas were lovely to be fair but not enough to entice us back. Didn’t try any food just left after one drink.

Always very good food to be had at the White Horse. Service was pretty good too. The interior is looking a little tired and could do with sprucing up. And I always say this about Taylors pubs. We had been sat for quite a while and had to ask for menus. When the food came the turkey was full of fat, the roast potatoes hard and the amount of veg to share between 3 people was very poor, (we did ask for more and was brought some). Not sure what the coleslaw looking stuff was but wasnt very nice. The Yorkshire puddings are massive but sadly dry and tasteless. We had cheesecake for dessert and the topping was delicious but sadly the base had been crushed too much and was powder and 1 of the cheesecakes looked like it had been dropped on the plate. What a shame as the last time we visited it was lovely.

Came here today to an empty restaurant, my nan is a user of a walker we got trapped in a small corner even though the restaurant was empty which she found difficult but doesn't like to complain. All meals were nice except the steak which I did send back mostly fat for over 20 quid, the saving grace was the manager she was exceptionally professional and her customer service was spot on couldnt of offered more to rectify the issues. The waiting staff on shift seemed to have the face of a slapped bum. Overall I doubt I'd return very expensive for the portion sizes. I upgraded to sweet potatoes fries costing nearly £5 for the privilege to receive about 15 fries not what you expect for the price.

We've been to white horse quite a few times over the years. We have been 3/4 occasions as a family group 16/20 of us. As a family group its one place we would choose to go. Food always good, service and staff very good always. Unfortunately when we went on Sunday, it was a bit disappointing. There was a slight mix up with our order, but thats not a reason for 3 stars. Because staff and the manager sorted it straight away and couldn't apologise enough. Things happen, it was sorted, not an issue for me. My wife and mother in law had leek and potato soup. The strangest soup I've ever seen. Whole or large pieces of potato, not diced, not anything, just big lumps. My mother in law had to use a knife to cut them up. Very strange soup. I had a burger, tasted very nice, but quite small, not really stacked in the bun, to be honest look a bit of a mess. Suspect because of mix up with order it had been rushed. I think also my burger was expensively priced. The menu is always good, plenty of choice and a large specials board. Puddings are really nice, old fashioned jam roll poly etc. Car park is good, good access to pub. Loads of nice outdoor seating. Another issue for me, was the constant yapping/ barking of a dog. Unfortunately dogs are allowed in. My personal opinion is dogs shouldn't be allowed in anywhere where they serve food. Other people don't want dogs about. Our visit was disappointing on Sunday, which is a shame. But we will definitely go again, and would recommend the White Horse, for food. You need to book or you may not get in. Which in itself is a good indication of the place. Definitely worth a visit. The manager did take a couple of drinks off the bill for the mix up.

We have been several times to the Grotto which isn’t cheap. This years Grotto was poor. The interaction from the entertainment team was rubbish (they all seemed low in mood), not small child friendly and having to walk outside round a a lake in cold temperatures with young children wasn't nice. The Father Christmas was great. Won’t be making the 50 minute trip again.

This place seems to divide opinion judging by the reviews but we thought it hit the spot nicely. Yes, the owner does invite you in if he spots you looking at the menu but we felt able to walk away, check a couple of other places and come back with no pressure. Sat out the back where there is lots of Bronte and Railway Children memorabilia on the walls. Even on a dreary day there were decent views over the valley towards Crossroads. In the summer the terrace would probably be lovely. We had homemade lentil and vegetable soup each, two sandwiches served with salad, pot of tea, bottle of water and a toasted tea cake for £25. For Haworth that’s not bad. Food was served quickly and was good, solid, no frills stuff - ideal for a grey autumn day.
