The best restaurants serving British food in West Midlands

Been using planters for many years unfortunately the restaurant has declined was there for 3 separate activities booked for Halloween .. 6 adult 3 children so not a cheap day .. food took 1hour 15 mins and all arriving at separate times so had to leave it as had slot time for pumpkin picking . . I ordered a gluten free sandwich that was poor size and standard for the price .. Considering it was school holiday and was very busy lack of staff . ..

After complaining about food on my last visit I received 25% off. I came on Friday 11th with 4 friends. We all enjoyed our meals this time. I had scampi, friends had chicken and mushroom pie, lay it on chuck, fish and chips, veggie sausage and mash and a Greek wrap...no complaints from any of us. Nobody had sizzler meals so I can't comment on whether they have improved.

Great beers and pub grub. Traditional British food and dog friendly a stone throw from the green in the villlage which is beautiful

My wife and I visited this pub one Sunday for dinner. Luckily they had one Sunday lunch left which my wife had. I had the steak which was cooked medium just as I had asked for.. delicious 😋 All in all the food served was delicious and the staff were very attentive. We live not too far away so we will definitely visit again soon.

Absolutely awful atmosphere full of but not allowed to say moral less people ! Food was good but clientele inside and out rough ! Been coming here for years with our grandkids but won't be coming again ! Building has also gone tatty staff half hearted and in welcoming ! Bad experience all round

I booked for Sunday lunch and after looking at the menu only two of our party chose the roast, the other two went for the beer battered cod. They were certainly not disappointed as the fish was perfectly cooked with light crispy batter. Me and my son chose the roast beef and ordered the extra portions of cauliflower cheese ( the cheesiest I’ve ever had) and pigs in blankets. When our food came it was piping hot, the portions were very generous and my son asked for extra gravy which the waitress was only too happy to bring him. The roast potatoes were crispy and the beef was delicious.I would definitely recommend the Sunday lunch and we will certainly be back!,

Omg Owen c is amazing quick with serving on the bar and the food was amazing I HAD a BBQ PLATER and it was outstanding but I can tell you now Owen is a keeper

Had a giant Yorkshire pudding with meat of the day (Turkey). shame the potato was Smash!!! Yuk, ruined what would have been a lovely meal.

Lovely meal that came quick after ordering. Very hot, just the way I like it. Staff very pleasant and friendly, lovely atmosphere.

Horrible absolutely terrible cold food , horrible and rude staff ,terrible service just don’t go it’s not worth it if you visit hungry it will not change rather have no food than eat here

Very nasty and the staff are so rude and the food isn’t cook and the pub is disgusting , some of the chairs are disgusting and the staff are too

Great atmosphere with excellent friendly service. The menu offered great variety with a delicious scallop starter. The stuffed pheasant was fabulous as was a desert of soft cheese and pear.

Went for a Sunday dinner and from the moment I walked in to the moment I left the staff couldn't do enough for me. I was greeted with a warm friendly welcome and explained how to order. The food was amazing and I cant wait to go back to try some of their recommendations.
