The Dragon Inn in Birmingham

Fairly large Weatherspoons with an outdoor seating area, some of which is covered. Good if staying in the area and a few minutes walk from the Bullring shopping centre. Would recommend.

It's a Wetherspoons, you know what to expect, except no miriad of stairs to reach the loo 👍

Went for breakfast, my beans and bacon were cold, toast looked like the bread was straight from the bag. Lady behind the till, very nice, took it away and asked for another. Another staff member brought out another saying be careful plate is hot. Definitely wasn't, again same issue, cold food. Again lady behind the bar was lovely, she spoke to who I can only assume was the manager was Definitely not. She was rude, unprofessional, lacked customer service. Especially saying a customer has attitude Muttering under her breath but didn't approach me personally, just shouted across the pub. When the 3rd meal came out she then said to the staff check it's hot this time in a very rude and aggressive manner. The lady looked mortified I feel sorry for people having to work under someone who has no respect for customers or staff.

Hace un minuto Nuevo Fui a desayunar, mis frijoles y tocino estaban fríos, las tostadas parecían sacadas directamente de la bolsa. Señora detrás de la caja, muy agradable, se lo llevó y pidió otro. Otro miembro del personal sacó otro diciendo que ten cuidado con el plato caliente. Definitivamente no fue, de nuevo el mismo tema, comida fría. Una vez más, la señora detrás de la barra era encantadora, habló con quien solo puedo suponer que el gerente definitivamente no lo era. Era grosera, poco profesional, carecía de servicio al cliente. Especialmente diciendo que una clienta tiene actitud murmurando bajo su aliento pero no se me acercó personalmente, solo gritó al otro lado del pub. Cuando salió la tercera comida, ella dijo al personal que esta vez hace calor de una manera muy grosera y agresiva. La señora parecía mortificada. Me da pena que la gente tenga que trabajar a las órdenes de alguien que no respeta a los clientes ni al personal.

Good Wetherspoons, but a bit dirty.

Lacked the atmosphere here but good and service was good at breakfast time no complaints at all

Open early for cheap breaky, same as any other wetherspoons, filled a whole. Lucky got there a bit later at half7, didn't open till 8am even tho online it says 6am. Staff were really nice. Only thing was 2 mushrooms like cardboard, burnt and rock hard, not sure but I think they were from either day before or out the bin as we were first in the pub (did not eat) . I wouldn't have minded waiting for fresh ones.

Food and service was good. Coffee machine was putting out some poor drinks which spoilt it

Glad I haven't ordered from here tonight. I tasted a slice of pizza and thought it was pretty dia.

Staff rude, ordered a bag of nuts with my pint.. the way they were dropped on the counter, may as well have just chucked the packet on the floor, and said fetch.. as usual at Wetherspoons, lacking the friendly touch.. seem to think the customer is an inconvenience. Never a sorry to keep you waiting. Could and should try harder. Subsequent visits, the service has improved. I will continue to review over time.

Been in here loads of times and every time was fine, but the other day let it down unfortunately 😞 Stood at empty bar with a male manager and a female member of staff talking at other end, but knew I was there, maybe 2 minutes. He came over, I said hello to him no response. Asked for the ale I wanted, said ‘card’ before even getting a glass to pour the ale I want to pay for (considering how often ales can run out) And then didn’t interact once with me, like it was hassle me being there, was talking to the next guy, a local, already, before finishing pouring my drink. I don’t ask for much, but a little ‘cheers mate’ or ‘enjoy your pint’ doesn’t cost anything eh 🙄 If was busy I can understand but there was about ten people in there. On the same day had been in a spoons in Liverpool and the difference in service is night and day honestly, and sadly because I like this pub 😞

A rare place where you have good value for money

I had a clear veggie soup with noodles. New on menu. It was delicious but warm, not hot. When asked, though, it was taken away and came back piping hot, fairly quickly. Loved the busy-ness of the place and staff were pleasant, seemed efficient but not fussy or intrusive

It’s a Wetherspoons, you get what you pay for. Cheap, low quality ingredients and inflated prices.

Me and my friend orderd a drink at the bar and met yazmin great customer service and spilling the pints to a point thank you for the service i will recommend drinking here x

Your usual Weatherspoons, what do you expect?

Visited here recently and was disgusted to be told that they wouldn't accept my Bank of Scotland notes. Avoid!

Went there today for Disney's Aladdin pre-show lunch and drinks food was awful sister had fried buttermilk chicken burger what came with about 10 chips so not worth £8.88 with a soft drink no ham for the ham egg and chips so i had to have sausage chips and beans what also came with only 10 chips so also not worth £8.91 with a soft drink 😖😕 I know its weatherspoons but it was so bad l can't believe

WOW! Best service I've ever had. Rory absolutely killed it at the bar. Saw him serve 16 beers while giving CPR to an elderly man. The man survived and immediately ordered a Stella which of course arrived promptly. Absolute legend

Queued at the bar for 18 minutes waiting for a drink on a Monday evening, only for them to get an order of Vodka Coke wrong.

Only popped in for a drink before show at the hippodrome pleasant friendly staff quick service and the food they were bringing out looked nice

Somehow we've missed the Dragon Inn during our many, many stays in Birmingham city centre. The Dragon seems a little calmer and less crowded than some of the other local Wetherspoons. We visited on 3 separate occasions during our weekend and we're able to get a seat on each occasion. In addition, prices were also slightly better than the other nearby ones. It's really really close to the Hippodrome so great for pre or post theatre drinks or a bite to eat. In addition it's also surrounded by great restaurants. Service was a little slower but there were lots or cocktail pitchers being made each time we were at the bar, so it's understandable and certainly not long waits. We'll certainly be returning, a great little find even if it took us many many years to find it.

This was a fantastic pub for drinking, located not far from the nightlife district of Birmingham! The style is really nice of the glassless window like structures between certain seats and the architecture on the ceiling, area has a nice bright feel too. Counter is well-presented and the outdoor seating is solid even in the rain, where I had a pint of Stowford Press!

Nice atmosphere, food was beautiful and really fast service. All staff were lovely. Tables are too close though no privacy. But otherwise all good.

Average food served quickly and cheaply, and a surprisingly decent beer selection (we were drinking Punk IPA and Shipyard).

Tucked away in the Chinatown area of Birmingham. Pleasantly clean and tidy with ample covered seating outside.

Very busy pub with a beer of the day, which quickly sold out. The food wait was longer than expected. Toilets could be cleaner.

Toilets are a bit rough. Theyre not really clean and dont flush too well. Gets very busy. The people were lovely and helpful. But a nice atmosphere here.

Just had drinks, wasnt too busy considering it was a Friday night. Love how it’s full of different people.

I visited at 10:00. It was very busy so food took ages to arrive but it was fresh. Kel's Ale was a nice promotion where one ale is £1 99. Like all Birmingham Wetherspoon pubs it's not the cheapest.

Like all weather spoons so busy so much chatter groups of all sorts, also active security.

Came here for brunch and some drinks over a few trips, generally nice spot in the city in the day and at night. Service was quick and efficient. Nice atmospherr at night.

Went lunchtime hours. Quick service, however we had 3 different meals, really wish we hadn’t. I purchased on the app, which ordered an extra drink also, I don’t know how, as I bought 3 meals with drinks included in the meals, for me and my 2 children, yet it somehow ordered an extra drink, I had to pay for even though I didn’t order it, was told I had to have the drink. This wasn’t a big issue, the issue was quality of the food. I’d return for drinks, service was great. But I’d not return for the food, was pretty poor!

Popped in Saturday afternoon on the way to our hotel for a quick bite. Ordered all day brunch for the other half and a halloumi wrap for myself. Brunch was ok although minimal beans and the wrap was just that but it was nice. Went back the next morning for breakfast and ordered bacon butty for him and big veggie breakfast for me. Enjoyed my breakfast and the butty was decent too, but filled that hangover gap that was needed to start the day. Drinks reasonable too.

El servicio y la comida estaba por debajo de la par hoy . . pub era tranquilo (para un Wetherspoons) y el personal parecía molesto sin ninguna razón. La papa de la chaqueta vino sin mantequilla y al haber pagado por el relleno adicional tuvo que pedirlo y no valió la pena tan seguro de que hay más queso en una ratonera de lo que espolvorearon en la parte superior. La pizza fue quemada a un crujiente ... apreciar los precios son “accesibles”, pero espere obtener lo que paga y que sea comestible.

Nice pub in the centre of Birmingham

Good food the people who served me were very nice and the atmosphere was good but a bit noisy.

This is a great pub, lovely friendly atmosphere, fast service and very reasonably priced. It's absolutely gorgeous inside too.

Came for cocktails and shared a pizza whilst having a catch up with an old school friend. Sat outside which was nice, the trees block most of the sun so it was cool and shaded

Food was ok. I had to chance my meal as I had placed my order and although, my drink had arrived, my food was around twenty minutes late.

Not as good as it used to be , really busy but only one bar open !(why have 2 bars then ?!?) No real ales on tap ,other than the usual Doombar & Abbots . Food wasn't too hot either!

Great place to stop for a drink and something to eat before or after a show at the theatre (Birmingham hippodrome is literally on the doorstep) or just to take a break from shopping and walking around the city.

This is a great Pub, we really enjoyed the atmosphere here. Lots of people out and about chatting away having a laugh it was lovely. Bit of a wait at the bar sometimes but it would never put me off going here again 👍👏

Spent 2 hours sitting outside this evening. Observed 4 different tables, at different times, openly smoking weed. What truly shocked me was the doormen who were more interested in speaking to each other, and blocking the entrance, than they were checking ID or speaking to the people openly smoking weed on a licensed premises. Totally unbelievable. One saving grace was the truly efficient and professional server named Jane. Well done Jane. Wetherspoons/Dragon Inn, you and your doormen need to do much much better.

I wanted to take a moment to commend the exceptional service we received from one of your staff members last weekend. We had a great time at the Dragon Inn and a large part of that was due to the friendly and attentive service. Phil was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. He was constantly on the go, ensuring everyone was looked after, considering we bought a lot of drinks. His positive attitude was infectious and contributed to a fantastic atmosphere. Thank you for a great evening!

Nice outside area, better atmosphere there than inside where it's very very dark and dirty tables seem to be left for ages...

Came here with friends to start our night in Brum with drinks and food and it was a decent start tbh, the pepperoni pizza I had was lovely, bit tight I had to pay 88p extra for onion but hey ho

Went there today for friends 40 birthday meal Food was awful when l finely got my curry 😖 had beef curry naan bread was rock hard just about eat the rice and staff was so rude said that my friend nicked my curry and taking piss out off her weight at the bar cos we both ordered the same meal and it's not my fault she nicked your meal not my problem was what women said at the bar when they forgot l ordered the curry was blaming her sadly l will never go there again 😕 I know its weatherspoons but it was so bad l can't believe

Very lively City centre pub/restaurant.

I only had a drink, the bar staff were fine and my drink was excellent(£1.99 pint). I was there for 20 minutes and 4 different people spoke to me. Amazingly friendly.

It's a wetherspoons, the only thing that changes is the staff, and these are very polite and helpful.

I know you get what you pay for and Wetherspoons aren’t exactly where you go for a quality meal, so I should probably know better. And to be fair, the quick bites we ordered did come quickly and weren’t terrible. But the glasses you’re given for your drinks are just awful. I dread to think what’s done to them to make them as dirty as they are. Makes you wonder what else is happening if the states of glasses is something they’re happy for you to see. I’d only drink bottles here.

Wetherspoons is a go to for cheap deals, especially food, but we found out that this place has a limited food menu, the very same as the nearest one (The London And North West), so pretty much dissapointed with what was offered. Pizza was a good option.

The Dragon Inn is a Wetherspoon pub in Birmingham, West Midlands. As with all Wetherspoons you know what to expect begore going - and here is no different. This one gets quite busy but the service stays consistent. I've always found the staff really friendly, recommend if looking for affordable food and drink.

Purchased a beverage, and subsequently asked to leave the pub after 5 minutes. If you are closing the pub, do not serve drinks at the bar you fool's! Yours angrily, a disgruntled patron.

Do not order on the app here. You get 0 priority over anyone even though all the advertising in the bar tells you to use it. We waited over 45 mins for 4 drinks, then got lies, then lip from the serving staff.

Brilliant service and the toilets were lovely and clean. The staff served us very quickly and were all very pleasant. The food was delicious and hot. We are looking forward to going again.
