This toby carvery at quinton is the best for food and staff, I think the lady that always serves us is called viv, never ever had bad food or service , I've had a meal at burntree island toby an was not half as good for food or service, thank you viv for all your help always.

Did not book a table for me and my partner but got a table within half a hour while relaxing in the waiting area by the bar service. Service was brilliant great choice of food great. Fantastic staff that makes your time here makes your time feel welcome, definitely coming again

We were served by a very helpful waitress called Mandy in the restaurant. Even though she was extremely busy, she made our dining experience really enjoyable.

We had the most amazing experience here, we stayed over and our housekeeper Mandy couldn’t do enough for us! Then we went to the restaurant on the evening for a carvery and she was there again. She was attentive, funny, really made the efforts with the kids and really looked after us! Big shout out to Mandy, she is an asset to this pub! Food was also great, really. Lean restaurant even when so busy, definitely recommend and return, we hope Mandy’s working!

Excellent service delivery from Jane and Joe aswell as other staff 11/11/24. The food was well presented, and the staff was very polite, patient and very kind. The manager with the clip board needs to wear a smile though. But apart from that excellent service delivery.

My husband is Coeliac and we advised the lady who served us when we arrived. She advised us that because of his allergy his food will be prepared and served directly from kitchen to avoid cross-contamination. She wrote all the selection on a piece of paper ( the selection was prior checked on her tablet to be sure it is gluten free) and brought it to the kitchen. The food was brought and served to him to the table together with pot of Gluten Free gravy. Around 6pm on Sunday evening he started to feel poorly and had been gluten ( had a gluten attack, the food had to be cross-contaminated in the kitchen as he did not eat anything after the lunch). Today is Wednesday and he is still poorly and struggling to keep food down. If you offer Gluten free option to your customers please be assured that all your staff is properly trained and there is no possibility for cross-contamination. Because of this experience we won't be returning to dine again.

Came for an early Sunday lunch with my wife, daughter and our friends who live nearby, food was fresh, staff were attentive and helpful.

Val is always efficient, friendly, warm and inviting, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Food is lovely, warm and fresh. Been coming here for years and will keep coming back!

Came for birthday. We had a carvery . Food was luke warm. Beef was fatty and grisley, . Left some of the food due to the lack of appetizing disappointed. We would have mentioned at the time but the waitresses was so busy. Really much dissatisfied with the whole experience. We would like to give you the opportunity to resolve this situation. Thanks.

My friend is vegetarian and was going to order the vegetarian alternative to the meat, however was told bluntly that the oven was broken so couldn't have the vegetarian option, only the vegetables at the Carvery. The waitress, named Helen, was rude. I asked if there would be a discounted price as the vegetarian option was unavailable, Helen stated yes it would be cheaper but couldn't give a cost. When the receipt came, there was only £2 off the bill. Considering that dinner was £12.79 for just vegetables is very poor. There was no sign at the entrance about the oven being broken. There was a big queue to get the Carvery. We were waiting over 30 minutes from arriving to sat with our food. I had ordered pigs in blankets. When I got to the table they had not arrived. Helen approached and asked if the food was OK, and I stated that the pigs in blankets had not arrived. Helen said rudely 'they're coming now'. I ordered jam sponge with custard, this however came with cream. Helen did apologise and replaced it. Overall very poor experience and I would not return.

Visited without booking this evening. Queues were not too big & seated inside 10 minutes. We had our usual server (Val) who always looks after us. Family were suitably fed, food was hot & welcome smile when arriving. Will be back again soon I'm sure.

Overbooked and so stress from waiting to paying. Used to be my favourite but I will avoid going again.

Terrible service had to repeatedly ask for glasses for soft drinks. Food was ok but holding areas for gravy and sauces were disgusting. Just not enough staff for such a busy place. Very disappointing. Wouldn't return.

Ordered food today on just eat, ordered at 16:16, delivery time has continuously changed!!! It's now saying 18.30! I do not expect to wait over 2 hours for a delivery!!! No answer on the phone either!!! Have called over 24 times and no one answers! Absolutely appalling!! Can't even cancel the order either! WILL NEVER EVER ORDER AGAIN!

Lovely hotel and bar. Very welcoming hard working staff. Clean quite decent size rooms. Breakfast is excellent and the bar is full of choices with good quality lagers and beers. Free Wi-Fi with very good speed. Highly recommended and will use again. Thank you team

Way to many tables and not enough meat even on the upgrade plate the Gravy area was a mess and to expensive £31 for 2 carverys because it was a Sunday

Good food, good prices but queue can be long for carvery. Staff could help by working as a team a little better. Overall good place to eat. Update Oct 24,Carvery food was excellent as were the staff. Sausages were not nice and tasted very odd.

On a noisy road into Central Birmingham, which is good location wise but not great for the rooms as the windows are out dated and let ALOT of noise and cold air in. Our room was also next to a boiler room, so was affected by a constant humming noise. Bed pretty comfortable and very big, nice bathroom.

The best carvery in and around the area. They don't skrimp on the meat, all is hot and the gravy is beautiful. Condiments to the side of the gravy if you want. Time it right and you even get crackling! Staff are all lovely. Good selection of drinks

Stayed here overnight and dined at the restaurant in the morning. While waiting for our pick up car- were spoken to quite rudely by the staff saying “the seating is for customers only and we can’t sit there” - they were extremely quick to presume we aren’t customers and I felt discriminated. ( I’m Asian and my mother was wearing a head covering, also bearing in mind she has mobility issues therefore had to sit to wait) This is extremely unprofessional and they need to teach their staff values and respect.

Love the food here. Normally carvery can be hit and miss but it's always spot on here.

Callum was fantastic the moment we walked through the door, nothing was too much trouble given how busy he was on a Saturday evening. The food was hot and delicious and all the team were friendly during service. The Manager Mo was chatty and attentive.

First visit today, seemed to be short staffed BUT the staff on were constantly on the go, they were all very polite, we didn't mind the slight wait as you could see how busy it was and the staff on duty did not stop the whole time we were there. Food was spot on no complaints at all ❤️

Went for a Sunday carvery with my husband, it was very busy, but service was quicker than expected and the food was lovely.

What kind of waitress is allowed to fat shame customers! When confronted she denied having doing it. I know this to be an absolute lie! My waitress whose name I had to go through THREE people to tell me it told me her name is Katie! She told me if I have diabetes I have to let her know as she needs me to fill out a form? How dare she assume I have diabetes??? I know I am on the larger side but this was simply unacceptable and flaming well rude. I told her I don’t have diabetes and asked why she would assume I did and she looked at me as if to say “really?” I could not believe the brass neck cheek of her it was absolutely disgusting. She then continued to tell me to admit that I had it. I was embarrassed and shamed in front of all of the other people sitting at the tables. How can she tell ME what medical problems I have? She is NOT my doctor she was supposed to be my waitress! I told this Katie that she was incredibly rude and demanded to speak to a supervisor. I was told to wait and I was sat waiting for 20 minutes!! Nothing. No other member of staff approached me, katie walked past me lots of times and didn’t acknowledge me. I never write reviews I am a grown working man who simply wanted a toby carvery with decent service on a Sunday which WAS NOT delivered. As probably gathered I did NOT stay for dinner I left it was absolutely disgusting service it wasn’t even service just humiliation. After asking 2 members of staff that refused to give me her name, I finally got it from the young working gent who actually had manners! Disgraceful.

The food was delicious and plenty. The service was excellent, i asked for Kate's name in particular to compliment, as she was very pleasant and efficient. All the staff were welcoming. Please keep the availability of paying by card, as we had left a carvery of which required us to order and pay for food by phone, as i did not think to bring mine and I'm not that technically savvy. Cards are friendlier for some older person's like myself. Thankyou for an enjoyable evening.

Complete chaos. Plan when you go

Very busy, waited 30 minutes for a table. The carvery was awful potatoes and veg were raw, I was unable to eat it. Did complain and was offered a free pudding but found it to be tasteless. I will not be In a rush to go back there.

I give 5 out 5 rate We came to Toby Carvary on Wednesday 25 September. We had a vouchers off for my birthday so we came. We were serviced by lovely Kaz. We had a great meal. It was very busy and I think they were under staff that day but Kaz went above and beyond to get us serve quickly and was giving 100% trying to serve all the tables she had to do that day. Rushing around keeping everyone happy. She worked so hard she deserves a well done.

Lovely meal, friendly staff, clean and pleasant surroundings. A meet up with old school friends after not seeing 2 of them for over 60 years!

Surprisingly has all the veg I want so it's now my first choice for a good roast!

We had a lovely meal the service was excellent the food is great here and the chocolate brownie for desert was so moreish

Terrible, visited here Thursday 12th September very untidy no staff, dirty plates glasses piled everywhere staff work areas tables, hardly any bed choice and what there was stone cold, 2 meats chef said he would only get the new meats out of you only chose one meat if you wanted 2 different meats he was willing to get the new meats out, dreadful experience

Great Toby to visit, albeit a Sunday afternoon and very VERY busy, the food was hot and fresh!!! My family and I (4 in all) had been to Birmingham SeaLife and we did plan on driving home straight through but as always, the kids an hour in decided they were hungry- in all honesty we took a picnic but the weather has turned and we just couldn't not find anywhere decent to stop!! So we stopped at the Toby Carvery in Quinton. Be prepared for a slight wait- we had to wait half hour- but we knew as parents it was far better to wait than put up with whinging hungry kids in back of the car for 4 hours !! So we were sat in the restaurant within our half hour spot of waiting- the queue for the Carvery was phenomenal!! But we soon found out why- it was simply the best food at a Toby we have EVER had!!! Our waitresses were amazing- really kind and caring especially towards our youngest who has severe dairy and egg allergy- we had two waitresses AND the manager come over to guide us through what the chef would do to prevent any cross contamination which really out our minds at ease- and our son ate EVERYTHING ON HIS DINNER PLATE!!!! We were sat for almost 2 hours with no pressure to leave despite the wait for other patrons waiting to be sat. All in all, great atmosphere, great place, great food, really clean and tidy, amazing staff who you could see work really hard at their jobs, clean bathrooms, just the perfect end to our day out. If we are ever in the area again, we know exactly where we will eat without a doubt- so thank you to the manager and staff and chefs - 5 stars 🌟 ➕️!!!!
