Find yourself a table and order through the app. Food and drink are cheap and cheerful. We had breakfast for two with hot drinks which came to about £10. Options for Vegan for both breakfast and lunch. Unlimited refills for hot drinks. Dispenser at the back of the pub. Service was quick at this venue in Wellington. Pancakes weren't particular hot though they were fine with the cold fruit. Toilets also towards the back of the venue.

Been going here for the last 8 years. One of the better spoons but probably not the best buildings spoons have around the country but still good. The food is usually good but had the odd one not so good in 8 years which isn’t to bad. Beer is good with odd occasions they run out. Mostly friendly staff and good service. If in the area and you’re a spoons fan it’s a must visit. I would say this is a much better spoons than the one in Telford town.

Not the biggest of Spoons but cosy, clean and was very busy when I visited. It seemed a little light on staff, but perhaps the volume of customers had caught them out, and this can happen. The food was coming out fast, so things must have been good.

4 ingredients. And still managed to miss 1 item, TWICE. Bacon, egg and cheese muffin. Nothing spectacular. First time, no cheese. Took it to the kitchen counter, the "chef," then slapped a piece of cheese on. Back to the table. The whole thing tasted like rubber. Not in the slightest edible. Back up to the bar, the lady was very polite and apologetic. (Not her fault) Had a fresh one brought out. Again..... missing cheese. How bloody frustrating as my family had nearly finished their breakfasts. I'll be giving this place a miss for a long time.

We called in on a Sunday just after 12 and ordered the ham, egg and chips which comes with a drink as it was one of their special offers. It was reasonably busy for a Sunday but we were given our meals after about a 10 minute wait. It arrived with 3 pieces of ham around 12 chips and no eggs. The waitress was about to leave when I asked where the eggs were and she replied they had no eggs and we should have been told when we ordered it, she then said that we had been given extra ham instead. Apologised and walked off. A customer behind me said they do have eggs as he had just had two. I chased after the waitress and repeated that they did have eggs and I was not happy. She said that she would get the manager. Next thing the same waitress appeared with just 2 eggs, when we were supposed to have 2 each and one of the eggs looked like it had been cooked half an hour ago. So off she went to get the manager. I must admit the lady manager was very polite and said we should have been told when ordering but as I explained I ordered on the App. I kept one of the eggs as the chips were going cold and the manager came back 5 minutes later with 3 more eggs and said that they had been keeping the eggs back to ensure they had enough for the breakfasts. Our drinks finally appeared after 20 minutes, with no apology for the wait. I cannot fault the manager but I cannot understand the reasoning behind the egg fiasco as I then went on the app again and I could still order the same meal. We have been to many Wetherspoons in our time and this one on many occasions, but this must rate as our worst experience so far.

Ordered vegan sausages and mash when it came out there was no vegan gravy so they offered me chicken gravy I mean come on. The waitress was really good she offered me another meal so I ordered a plant burger and when it came out it looked like it had just been plonked on the plate. When I tasted it it was not very nice at all so I didn't finish it. The waitress was really apologetic and asked management if I could have a refund which they said yes to. When I went up to get my refund I complained to the manager saying when the vegan meal was being cooked they must have known that there was no gravy to go with it so why didn't they come out and say? Her response was I don't know anything about it I've just come in NO apology or anything. The one good thing about this place was the waitress she was exemplary the whole time. I don't recommend this place at all and I have been to other Weatherspoons who were far superior.

We popped in for a couple of drinks after going to the new Italian. My partner's cider was an incredible £1.99 and I had a glass of delicious Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc - both drinks came to £6.03😲 It was packed full of diners and drinkers. But not by any means unpleasant. The only downside is, as I have said about Wetherspoons, is the lack of staff, so many tables had dirty dishes and glasses on them. Mind you, where we were sitting, by the pass, we could see a waitress at the end of the bar, staring at herself in a mirror and brushing her long hair, most peculiar when you have a packed out bar and restaurant. Even if she was on a break, don't do this in full view of customers, unprofessional. Everyone loves a Spoons and we are lucky to have this one in Wellington.

I’m a huge fan of wetherspoons nationwide however I have never heard so many bad things about a member of staff anywhere! The supervisor Verity/Valerie has a reputation about herself, throwing customers out seemingly to close early, throwing accusations at people without evidence and banning people from the premises for no valid reason! I am a local to Wellington, Telford, and I’m familiar with all the pubs in the area and they are a delight. HR need to look into this staff member... I will say though, I have been here myself and the other members of staff are absolutely fantastic! Very friendly with a smile on their face, it’s a shame that someone lets down the team. It is really off putting hearing such a thing from Wellington locals, it makes me not want to go there.. The building is accessible with a downstairs loo for those with disabilities, I thought this needed to be mentioned and overall the building is well kept and quite clean, food is good with fast service…

1)The prices have gone up recently but with all the fuel & food prices increasing in the shops I'm not surprised. Good value compared to other places, usual Wetherspoons menu. My 6yr old grandson was very disappointed there wasn't any pizza on the menu (he's had it in another Wetherspoons in Telford). 2)Another visit here today & we both had the Quorn wraps with chips, very pleased with our food today. 3)Today's visit was just for a coffee with my husband. Great place to stop off for a break while shopping in Wellington. £1.25 for a hot drink with free refills - can't really go wrong 4) Yet another visit and today we both had Quorn wraps, one with a side of chips and one with a side salad. Good value and included our drinks - but don't expect many chips if you have it as a side order! 5) visited here this morning (13/07/24) for veggie breakfast, I ordered an extra grilled tomato as I can't eat baked beans for extra 52p, these I gave to my husband - breakfast was very nice but a little cool. CAN I SUGGEST WETHERSPOONS THAT YOU MAKE SURE ALL FOOD IS SERVED TO CUSTOMERS HOT and YOUR MENU INCLUDES AN ALTERNATIVE TO BAKED BEANS PLEASE..... 22/10/24 Today I ordered the breaded vegetable burger with chips, good burger just a shame it was overcooked hence giving 4*'s instead of 5. Overall happy with my meal. Disabled toilet was ok but really think the room needs to be updated also can't understand why it's never that clean when there's a chart on the back of the door with signatures on for regular checks and cleaning, this needs addressing.

She told us they do not allow dogs, which we didn't realise and didn't see any signs. The dogs didn't harass any customers either. Won't be visiting again even without our dogs. Not the greatest pub I have even been too. I just struggle with the fact that our local Wetherspoons is grim, looks dirty, the mood lighting isn't great I actually think it makes it look grubby. The staff never look happy probably because they are are understaffed and overworked. However, it appeals to others. I went due to meeting friends here it would not have been my first (goto) choice of pub. I know its supposed to be a budget pub but that shouldn't impact on how grim it is. Been to a few other Wetherspoons when on holiday or in another town and they are always much cleaner and atmosphere is much better.

Doctor William Withering was born in Wellington in 1741, he discovered and developed digitalis which is made from the dried leaves of the purple foxglove and used in the treatment of heart disease. With more than a hint of irony, Wellington now has this Wetherspoons pub named after him. Cheap alcohol and food a-plenty is now what THE William Withering is primarily known for. We were there for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The building was full of people more than happy to sit inside listening to their coronary arteries slamming shut like fire doors in an inferno. The actual pub was pleasant enough and our lunchtime curries fitted the bill more than adequately. Tasty, well cooked and most importantly, hot. No artery slamming for us, but lots of bowel opening instead. The garlic certainly had a kick…

Unfortunately, a pivotal member of staff must have left this spoons. It USED to be great food, served very quickly and very nicely by the staff. Been in there thrice over the last couple of weeks. First time, the steak came without the pepper sauce. By the time it did get there the rest was eaten or it would have been cold. Went this Saturday. Another steak, this time ordered with the Jack Daniels glaze. When it came, the same waitress said.... They'd none of that left so you're left with bbq and presented a thimble full of cold sauce. Took the grandaughter in there tonight, brunch ordered without beans, it came with beans. So by the time it came back out, mine was cold. Admittedly the prices have dropped but so have the standards. Also, on all 3 occasions we've had to clear the tables ourselves and were left with tables more sticky than a 90s niteclub dance floor. Put the prices back up, call the member off staff who's left, apologise and let's have the old William Withering back. That poor botanist will be turning in his grave. Have to say though that Daniel the waiter tonight was brilliant in trying to resolve this.

Having not been here in some years, we decided to pop in with friends, heaving of a lunch time around 1pm. Kids meals are a little on the thin side if you have children that can eat a decent sized meal, so we opted for the adults versions of the kids meals which really helped, they enjoyed a pudding as well with extra toppings for a few more pence, this was simply amazing for our kids and they loved picking their own choices to tailor their pudding to their tastes. Food has much improved since my last visit and I was pleased with this, choices of sauces with meals is good and I applaud anyone who doesnt serve a salad with a sauce already applied, options are always appreciated. The serving staff were lovely with the kids, and very polite and friendly, despite it being so busy nothing was too much. I would come again especially on a Saturday afternoon.

Had a lovely lunch at The Lion Inn this afternoon. We were debating on what to choose when the chef came out to see us. He recommended an open tomato, mozzarella and pesto sandwich with homemade crisps and salad which was perfect as I’m vegetarian. My friend chose the cheese and bacon toastie. I’ve got to say, it was amazing, we both thoroughly enjoyed it and the homemade crisps were super and a nice touch. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We will definitely be visiting again soon 🤩

We were there for a conference, decided to eat in the hotel the first evening. I ordered a vegetable curry, I got served a chicken curry!! No real apology just on dear we’ll bring you the correct meal. It didn’t take long and my colleagues hadn’t finished their food but disappointing no one really acknowledged the mistake!
