We stayed at the hotel and decided to have our evening meal there too. The staff were really polite and helpful. The food was exceptional. We had a three course meal and the food was beautiful. Thanks to all the chef team for beautifully displayed food which tasted even better.

Main reason for review is to state how great Ang was. Both nights I ate alone there she came and made very sweet convo which was really appreciated. Food and atmosphere was exactly what you would expect and completely acceptable but Ang was the highlight for me- she’s worked there for decades and her enjoyment of what she does really shows! Thank you!

We visited the Olive Tree Restaurant to have dinner. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and shown to a table overlooking the patio/garden area. We chose a starter, main course and dessert from the Menu and a glass of wine to accompany the food. The food was well prepared and presented and was served in good time by friendly staff. We had a very enjoyable dining experience and we have no hesitation in recommending the Olive Tree Restaurant to family members and/or friends.

Good grief. I thought this type restaurant died out 30 years ago. If you ever wanted to do an economic exercise on what a lack of competition does for quality then book yourself a table and find the basis of your phd thesis. Truly terrible. Calamari starter was definitely the worst we have ever had and the chicken Caesar was awful and uneaten. If you eat here you know it’s not out of choice and because your are exhibiting at the conference enter and can’t be bothered to go out… but honestly make the effort and go out or get a Deliveroo. It’s a pretty brutal but honest review based on the fact the owners are exploiting the lack of competition. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should…..

Ask for an omelette "with everything" at breakfast - it beats the buffet typically served up. The bar is well stocked and the local beer is passable.

Starter was described as goats cheese with pears and walnut drizzled in balsamic!!!! Reality- a piece of toast with tinned pears and a rubbery cheese, not sure if it was goats cheese... Tasted ok The bill was £Best part was the lovely staff and the bread

Restaurant deserted on a Tuesday night but apparently hotel guests attending a function nearby. Ordered gin and tonic about which I had to make choices - good start, Then went for omelette with smoked haddock Arnold Bennett and this was a grotesque parody. Egg cold and pre-cooked, haddock just smeared on the top, rating zero points. At least they provided FOC a substitute starter of fried mussels with garlic and cream sauce. At least the mussels were warm and fresh though the sauce could have been used to clean silver. Better but not much. The main course was slow cooked pork belly with a pork cheek pithivier, (pie in Shropshire), gravy, mashed potatoes and some kale. Everything was edible if seriously lacking in any wow factor, Definitely a restaurant to miss after this experience which is disappointing to record for an IHG hotel

Reasonable restaurant. Starter : chicken liver parfait was disappointing. No chicken no liver no fat no taste and even no salt. Quick forget. New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from Southern Rivers is a shadow from the kiwi ones I had before. Boeuff bourginon as main dish was well prepared with all the things from original recipe. Chosen wine Solandia primitivo from of course Puglia Italy was good but fully flavoured and missed the vanilla. Olive tree you can do better!!

Usually try and avoid hotel-based restaurants as usually overpriced and much of a muchness. In Telford Holiday Inn on a business trip and not wanting to drive out to find somewhere to eat, had a look at the restaurant on site. Looked more up market than usual hotel restaurants so decided to give it a go. Failed at the first course! Squid with vegetables and focaccia bread - luke warm plate and food too, with no focaccia in sight. They decided to ask the chef about it and in the meantime I had to ask them to take the plate and keep it warm while I waited. Waitress then said they were preparing a fresh one. Nice to hear. Main course - pork belly mash and veg. OK except the main event was missing - the crackling. I bet there are a group of staff out the back moonlighting on pork scratchings! Oh, almost forgot. No one asked if I wanted water at the table, which when I raised it was apparently their policy - wait until asked for it!

We booked over the phone to ensure a table but it wasn’t too full when we got there. We were on a dinner tariff in the hotel so we had three courses! The food was excellent delicious but the portions massive! We also had a good bottle of Sauvignon. I have stated in many holiday inns but can say this restaurant is not reflective of their usual restaurants it was outstanding. The service was a little slow but the staff apologised and were very pleasant. We had breakfast the next morning and the cooked buffet was hot and everything topped up frequently. Ate here with a work colleague and ordered the southern fried chicken burger. It took over 30 mins to be served when the restaurant was pretty quiet. Plate was far too big for the food on there and my meal came with a celeriac slaw that was put on the burger and not as a side which I didn’t quite like as celeriac slaw is not to everyone’s taste and didn’t like how it was dumped all over my burger and ruined it. No condiments were brought to the table after we asked and fries were soggy. Will not return

My Wife and I came to the Olive Tree restaurant which is located inside the Holiday Inn Ironbridge, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. As my wife is in a wheelchair I had rung to check out the access etc. When we arrived we were greeted by young, knowledgeable and efficient service team who following a short discussion guided us to table next to the centre fire pit. We, like everyone else were treated to the highest standards of service, attentive but not at the table every 5 minutes. The food was beyond wonderful, the steak was locally sourced and melted almost like butter in the mouth, the vegetables were also locally sourced and the taste was out of this world.

I came here late last night with a friend having attended an event at the nearby International Centre. We wanted food before heading home, a 3 hour drive away. It was coming up to 9 o'clock, but luckily they were still serving food. We received a warm welcome, and a warm table - we were sat right next to the gorgeous fire in the middle of the room. There was a nice choice on the menu - a good variety, something for everyone. I chose the salmon, and it was beautifully cooked with a delicious sauce. Our waiter was very friendly. We'll certainly be back next year when the UKPPC is held, and this time we shall be staying the night here.

After my last review of an evening meal I said I would try Sunday lunch and I did today! We weren't disappointed, two of our party had a starter which was lovely, the Sunday lunch was delicious the beef was well cooked the Yorkshire huge! And the vegetables potatoes and gravy of a good quality , the pork was equally good, the deserts were tasty and for three courses for two people two courses for one person including drinks at 67 pounds is very good, I would visit again for Sunday lunch, shame there wasn't many in I suspect not many people are aware it is there , the food is very good if I was recommending it I would probably visit many times for the Sunday lunch not so many for the evening meal.

I mentioned the restaurant in my review of the hotel but it's worthy of mention in its own right. Pleasantly surprised by our evening meal on the first of our two-night break. There was a good choice on the menu. Prices were, overall, reasonable. Good to see a hotel sourcing food locally - the menu named the farm which provides the steak. Had the rump steak. It was well seasoned, full of flavour and perfectly cooked to my stated preference. It came with, amongst other things, thick, hand-cut, chips, which were a delight - plenty of taste. The food shows effort put into cooking fresh produce. Staff were pleasant. Service was ok. A few refinements would make it an even better dining experience; for example, took the trouble to ask if we would like a second bread roll but then forgotten - it never arrived. However, that did not detract from the experience and we ate there on our second night - choose different items from the menu - equally as good.

I went here some years ago so thought I would try it Again the menu sounded great , my main was the belly pork I have to say the belly pork was tasty tender and delicious, the mash however was bland in flavour and seasoning. My partner had the chicken wrapped in bacon which was nice but to small a portion and he was still hungry , the dessert was good, chocolate tart and cheese board again was ok. However the food was served so quick I'm sure it was pre prepared as you wouldn't be able to turn it around that quick otherwise the service to was quick and rushed, the waitress we had Ange was friendly and attentive and gave us good service and she is part of why I haven't given less a review, however for the price I wouldn't expect pre prepared food that was turned around so quickly as I could do better at home, and the rushed atmosphere which was apparent throughout the observations of the staff there isn't great you want to enjoy your meal when you come out not be rushed. There was also a delay on drinks at the bar, the meal cost 80 pounds for 2 courses each and 7 drinks in total and I'm afraid it didn't warrant this price due to the fast turn around of pre prepared food I'm used to spending that much for freshly made meals. I have heard good things about the Sunday lunch so I may give that a try , over all I wouldn't be back at the current cost for an evening meal.
