This was a fantastic pub for drinking, with a bright and modern design as expected in Telford! The separators above the seating have a unique style to them and Christmas decorations were pretty, ornaments add a nice feel themselves. Counter is well-presented and manned by friendly staff, a whole load of seating is available here too! I had a chocolate orange cocktail appreciating the leather seating, table had been well kept as well.

I love a Wetherspoons. Cheap and cheerful! The Thomas Botfield is a smaller Wetherspoons but lovely and vibrant. They had no Sauvignon Blanc left which I love in there so I tried the Pinot Grigio which was very pleasant. Bar staff were friendly, you can park outside and no ten mile hike to get to the loo.

Visited weatherspoons on mon, 27th, Jan 2025. Table service really excellent. Steak meal tough, chips overcooked, onion rings tasteless. Apple crumble and ice cream, excellent. Pinot grigio, unpalatable, and undrinkable. Table cleaning service, awful, moved all empty plates onto nearby Table, as staff seemed not to think it was needed. Observed that once main diners left, remaining staff thought it ok, to stand mid floor chatting.

Visited botfield, Telford, Sunday evening (05/01) to have a quiet drink to celebrate my eightieth birthday. The whole evening was spoilt by a table of 30 who were noisy throughout, even singing. My son complained to one of the bar staff with no effect. The Duty Manager appeared not to be in control, ignoring the problem whilst delivering copious drinks to their table. On previous visits, others have been banned for far less, or asked to leave.

ABSOLUTELY APPALLING EXPERIENCE. A family member and I went into this dump for a Xmas drink and meal, my meal was burnt in parts but thought I may as well eat what I could, I didn't finish it and complained to the staff whom treated with utter contempt! even accusing me of being a liar! (they've accused the wrong person). I might add the 'manager' swore at me too, totally unacceptable conduct, and I will put this matter in a formal complaint to the head office. It is true in that some Wetherspoons pubs are better than others but I have never been so badly treated as I was in The Thomas Botfield - just a disgusting place and an overhaul of staff should root out the bad from the good.

Tight spaces between tables with no good walkway for people to make their way to and from the table, also stood for a long time in front of 3 bar staff to be completely ignored when the bar person asked who was next went to someone behind me. She then had a go at me because she thought I was being served. Obviously the bar persons fault, she did take my order, but then rolled her eyes the who process and muttered some rude obscenity towards me to the customer behind me. Customer service failing. The server brought out the food, it was lovely, and the server was pleasant. That's why the review gets a 3 star.

Went for lunch with family. I decided to have the turkey dinner from the Christmas menu. When it came the mash was dried up on top, some of the turkey slices were very dry , no cranberry sauce, gravy congealed and not much of it. Looked as if the dinner had been plated earlier in the morning. On the way out I did pass someone else having the turkey dinner which looked far fresher than the one I was served.

My friends and I visited JD Wetherspoon around 7 PM to celebrate a birthday, and we were very impressed. The atmosphere was serene and inviting, truly the perfect place for a special occasion. In my experience, restaurants in the Telford area sometimes struggle to maintain high food quality during peak hours, but this was not the case here. "Manager" & staff attitudes are beyond appaling. Food, also appaling. Don't complain - you will be met with customer service bereft attitude and absolutely no genuine apology. While complaining about the rock hard microwaved chicken burger, that could have acted as a test cricket ball, I was told it is "microwaved...and??"... because the world is filled with advice on how you should most definitely microwave a chicken bresst for the best burger and then charge people for the privilege of such an amazing burger! Also, while complaining, pointlessly, heard another member of staff talking about how someone had dropped 6 needles in the pub. Disgusting, unsafe, embaressment to the brand. Should be shut down ASAP.

Food is your standardised Wetherspoons food, always comes out hot, never under or overcooked, an average wait of 10-15 minutes for food. Easy to order on the app or at the bar. Plenty of bargains to be had on each day of the week. The toilets are on the same floor and not hard to locate, so not quite your usual 5 mile trek to the loo. This pub caters for all tastes and used to be the starting point for most bar crawls before big nights out but as the closest bars are now at Southwater across the road/via town centre, it leaves Wetherspoons to deal with it's usual suspects.... Friends catching up for unlimited hot drinks, older gents who like the company of a few beers alone or with an old drinking pal, family gatherings for a cheeky cheap meal, etc. Definitely not as fancy as what is on offer at Southwater, so it's a no go for major celebrations or first dates. It's relatively quiet, the TVs are on constantly and there are a few fruit machines dotted around. There is a raised eating area, accessible by a ramp, an outdoor dining area split between smoking and non smoking areas.

You know I love a vibrant English pub especially on an early Sunday morning. The raucous clink of plates and the energetic conversations. Cheap and cheerful. The atmosphere still clings to an age of cigarette smoke and the carnival thrills of the one armed bandits beckon the wishful thinkers. With an extensive menu that takes 2 coffees to work through the choice is inevitably a try-hard celebration to the working mans appetite. The breakfasts just like mum used to make and a relief to the sadistic economic depression. Wonderfully cheap, delightfully packed, deliciously prepared, although at times may have lingered a little too long under the heat lamps. A must for the kids is the succulent small fish and chips which I are well worth pilfering when a suitable distraction falls in place. The all you can drink tea and coffee encourages sentimental conversations of a time when politically correct was nothing more than a punchline. I write this in the hope that this precious sanctuary to a by-gone age is left alone and as well-preserved as the generous eagerness of the youthful service.
