Only been here twice, it was recommended by my son, but I have to say the food is lovely and I am so glad my son told us about it.

Came the other night and even tho it was just before close everyone was very welcoming. The food was great i would definitely recommend.

Decent plaice indeed. Still think Telford needs more orange chip places, but this is indeed really nice. Would recommend easily. And 100% well be back

Nicest fish and chips I've had in a long time.

Tried the chicken and mushroom pie, chicken kebab and cod fish. The pie is absolutely delicious. The chicken kebab is flavourful and tender. Will visit again soon.

It's probably the best around this area, there is often a small wait as it's quite busy. Only place I know that still does battered bits. Great on your chips..

Went back here as I aways remember it being good food. Not now. The chips were stuck to the paper and undercooked. There was hardly any fish inside a oad of batter. My partner had kebab meat and t was hard and dry. Definitely not cut when I ordered it. Both of us have had really bad stomachs in the night. This place used to be really good but the place is falling apart and I wouldn't use again

Best around. It's always a bit of a wait, but definitely worth it.

Menu online outdated price wise and sausage missing from lunch box. Scallops too cooked and seemed sitting there ages. Friendly staff and kebab meat was good though

Is this the slowest service in Telford. Been stood outside 10 mins, not moved...useless! Update, after 15 mins of waiting outside I FINALLY got inside. 6 people in front, so clearly another 20 min wait. I walked out and went elsewhere. Will never use again!

What a chippy!! Does not disappoint.. always busy and for good reason!

Been using this chip shop for years but as of late it’s gone down hill, and rapidly. Chips were undercooked and barely any fish left inside what only can be described as a ball of batter. Staff very rude and blunt. Inside needs a face lift as there’s a lot of dead flies around the window. Pictures to follow shortly. Thanks

I ordered and paid for fish, chips and mushy peas. The food was scabby and greasy. Mushy peas were grey, insepid and hard. About an hour later I was sick. This was on Saturday 17 June at 3.30pm. I won't be going back. However the staf were friendly to be fair.

Would of been 5* but you need to stop watering your sauces down! Soggy chips because of the mayo... and then I had a burger and it was dripping soggy from the burger sauce.

Ordered a kebab waited outside, when I got home,I was amazed,, it looked like a rat must have been through my kebab,,as there was hardly any meat, and the pitta looked like it had been stamped on or tore apart, very disappointed,,,not the correct portion size or well put together,,infarct I've eat it,now going up dawley for a proper kebab, don't waste your time here for kebab,I won't again!!

Chips are good however I ordered a kebab for nearly £5... Got home and the amount of kebab meat I got was ridiculous for the money. Don't get kebabs from here.

Despite the codfather being busy yesterday and me ordering a lot of food, I was given my food in just under 15 minutes, everything was cooked fresh and every single item was delicious.. well done codfTher I will definitely be back!

Crowd of customers waiting for over twenty minutes to get their food. Only took 30 seconds to order and pay for it. I'd have moved on if payment hadn't already been taken. Awful service, totally unprepared and utterly underwhelmed.

Shocking. Would give Zero stars if I could. Ordered jumbo sausage and chips and 2 doner kebabs. Didn’t pack the sausage and the kebabs would have left a small child hungry. 4 strips of meat in one kebab!! Don’t even waste your time.

Very busy in the evening but the food is worth the wait.

Every time you come here expect to wait upwards of 15 minutes even for a portion of chips. Hoped under new mgmt this might have changed, sadly not only the taste has suffered.

If I could give it no stars I would! horrible the chips brown like they had been reheated over n over again didn't taste nice ended up cooking something instead, worst chippy I've had

Chips were like mush and extremely sloppy, I ended up chucking it all, with a shot i suppose! Unfortunately i won't be going there again.

Rubbish - took 25 minutes to sort a fairly small order and when we got it home the chips had clearly been refried from cold a few times, they’d gone brown and almost translucent. Fish was awful, batter was rock hard and the gravy had set like jelly after a 5 minute drive.

We had been going to this take away for years and we re really pleased with it, always fresh food, freshly cooked and hot when we got home. Howebver twice now we haev been dissappointed. First, when we got home to unwrap the fish and chips, the fish batter was so cooked that it must have been cooked twice, it was so hard and we couldnt eat it. Next time, we ordered two mini cod and one small chips, and when we got home to unwrap it, not only was there just one very mini cod, but a huge portion of chip,s and once again the fish was so small plus it had the appearance and taste of having been cooked twice The first time we told ourselves we would forgive and accept it was a one off, but not twice. we are very disappointed and we wont be coming back here. There was littel point in taking it back s it was too far to be reasonable to do so, and if we had telephoned i doubt if it would have achieved anything

Absolutely lovely fish and chips. Honestly the chips are the best around! I have never had bad service (I have gained weight since knowing about this place lol) and the food has a full of flavour plus the fish is amazing of course which I'm not a fish person. The food is worth every penny. Yummy Yummy

Always use this place but the 2 times horrendous, fish was supposed to be large it was just long a thin along with being cold chips tasteless, such a shame from how good it used to be. Avoid.

Good quality food, always freshly cooked. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. But. Very limited parking spaces and such a small shop means having to wait outside a lot of the time. Still worth a visit though.

Having just waited 15 minutes for a small order, can only say terrible food. The chips are dried up as if left over from lunchtime trade. Fish a bit better but shall not return.

I had a small sausage and chips from here yesterday and became very poorly within the hour! Shivering, terrible stomach cramps and vomiting. This was the only thing I'd ate and still havent been able to eat a thing for over 24 hours now. 😑

Taste OK but the smallest 'large fish and chips' I have ever had from any chip shop! Definitely not worth the money. The fish was tiny and had disintegrated into the chips. You have to wait outside the shop while they package up your food and now I know why - so you can't see what they are giving you! I would have said something if I would have seen what they were serving but by the time we were home, there was no point in going back.

As someone who used to manage a chip shop before ordination I am very impressed with the Codfather.

I have always gone to the Cod Father since I moved to Aqueduct 5 years ago. Lovely fish and chips.

Chips are crisp, golden and perfect, not a soggy chip in sight! Curry sauce and mushy peas are on point, as are pineapple fritters and pies. Fish on the other hand is another story, hadn't seen a such a lanky cod until I visited the cod father. Staff confirmed fish was cooked from frozen and recommended that the wait was longer as such. It would be great to see fresh fish and hope they make the changes. Lanky cod in picture below (this was a large cod..)...

Unfortunately the experience has gone down hill, chips aren't what they were. Owner seems to ready to want to start arguments with members of the community over parking. His wife's apologies for his attitude doesn't wash. I will not spend our money here again ,preferring to travel to other shops in the area.

Heard good reports but I was a little disappointed. Chips were ok , battet on fish and taste of fish was ok, but the fillet was a bit scawney.

First time here , very friendly service and the food is great , chicken kebab with salad best I've eaten , chips the nicest cooked in colesteral free oil , highly recommend you try
