Watermill in Wyre Forest

Nice pub, friendly staff, let down a bit by the food. Food was decent enough, and tasty, but the steak was the wrong side of medium (was pretty much well, not med-rare) and the hot chocolate fudge cake could barely be described as warm. Could have just been an off night, and its super handy if your at the Travelodge.

Lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious. Will definitely go back in the next couple of weeks.

Very nice pub and friendly staff

All staff were really friendly and accommodating, making sure to check on us during our meal to see if everything was good. The food was cooked perfectly, we did experience a little bit of a wait but we did not mind as it looked quite busy. Overall a great experience!

This is my favourite pub in Kidderminster by far, from its lovely views by the canal in the summer to the fact they offer meals for dogs! Always clean and well presented, and the food is always delicious! I come in here weekly with my family every Tuesday and are always served with a smile, they know the dog by his name and even his meal order! I also come in here regularly with my friend for a few drinks and occasionally food, and the staff are always so friendly - even when they're bringing our drink out to us in the snow! Wanted to extend a massive thank you to all of the staff who make this pub so welcoming, and a big thanks to Jan for serving us tonight!

Lovely pub with lots of character on the canal with a childrens play area which kept the little ones amused while we waited for food. The team were happy and helped me access their website for my sons gluten free requirements. When we ordered it was busy and they told us 45 minutes for food but it was served just after 30 minutes, looked and tasted great and was piping hot. We have just moved in around the corner and we will definitely be back. Well done, looks like you've gained some new regulars!

Came to The Watermill on Thursday lovely place staff very friendly. I had the chicken platter and my partner the steak, both were cooked to perfection compliments to the chef Louise. Will defiantly be retuning and highly recommend on trying the new menu. Thanks all for an enjoyable visit.

We had lunch at The Windmill today for the first time and we were very pleasantly surprised and impressed. Emma our server was very hospitable, served us quickly and with a very approachable manner. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Emma 😊

An excellent establishment boxes ticked in every department

I use the Watermill most days for a coffee in my lunch break but I also have used the pub for lunch with friends and one of the sip and paint nights. It is a really friendly pub with lovely staff who are always chat and make you feel very at home . Jan the manager has a fantastic team around her, including Amy , Sam and Sonia.

Very small portions considering the price for Sunday lunch , drinks very expensive . Should have gone to Witherspoon's for half the price and got more food and reasonably priced drinks . We travelled 15 miles to come to this pub and left very disappointed

Was a lunchtime visit so was fairly quiet hence the 4 for atmosphere. Food and staff were wonderful.

I have to praise the Management & staff here for their support & understanding of our situation, My wife is currently going through Chemotherapy & is very susceptive to catching anything so having called ahead asked if it was possible to dine outside even though it was only about 2-3 degrees, We were given a table & the patio heaters were turned on for us & were even offered blanket/throws to keep warm. The food was really good off the new menu & couldn't fault the service even sat outside. This to me was going the extra mile to help me, my wife & family to have a great experience & a bit of escapism from the treatment & issues we are facing. Couldn't fault a thing & have been back since & will continue to visit as the whole experience was great Thank you all staff at the Watermill

After leaving another Marston’s pub as they’d got no Sunday lunches made the mistake of coming to another Marston’s. No Sunday lunches here either! Ordered fish and chips. Wrong meal came out. They went to swap it, after 25 minutes no one ever did return with my fish and chips and the rest of my family had eaten by then. Starving and disappointed I asked for a refund as all my family had eaten and I still had no food. The girl just said oh right and gave me the refund. Couldn’t care less.

Food is microwaved, so don't expect too much, service is ok but usually understaffed so expect to queue to order food and drinks at busy times, also drinks very expensive £10 for a pint and half

Ate here last night. Kids curry was a rubbish microwave thing this chicken that was like rubber, the popodom was burnt. The kids cheese burger was the same just a tiny microwave burger. The mac and cheese tasted awful so wasn't eaten. We ordered a katsu loaded fries sharer and I kid you not it was a bowl of chips with a teaspoon of sauce and 1 chicken strip cut up! Asked the waitress for some extra sauce for it as was so dry and was told we would have to pay extra as the chef said that's the portion size for the sauce. Might aswell ordered a portion of fries! The chicken sharer again was just 4 chicken strips and 5 popcorn chickens thrown on a plate, dry and tasteless. Utter waste of money. No effort put in to cooking these meals and nothing was tasty or fresh. Was over priced for microwave food. Won't be returning!

To be honest,I feel like it was abit of a rip off. We ordered loaded fries with extra cheese, lasagne,no salad with garlic bread at 1.30pm and it came at 2.15pm when i went and asked where it was... I asked for extra cheese on the loaded fries and it was like a sloppy cheese sauce and was charged extra for the pleasure. I also asked if they would substitute the garlic bread and salad for a handful of fries.they said no and charged me for a portion of fries. Dont think I'll be rushing back..very disappointed 😔

I brought my children and my 94 year old mum last summer and it was fantastic. Parking with my mum was easy and the flat entrance was perfect for her to negotiate. The staff were really warm and welcoming and were lovely to my mum as she is deaf, they were very respectful. The food was lovely. I met my husband and son in there on Tuesday this week after I’d had a meeting in Hereford. They enjoyed the food and I did too when I got there. We’re all vegetarian and it’s lovely to have lots of choices. Please keep up the good work and keep up the lovely veggie options. Thank you

Was a meal as I'm staying across at the Travelodge during the week. Is a beautiful building, staff were friendly and helpful, the meal was very enjoyable

Arrived for booked 2.30pm slot. No-one to greet or explain the procedure. After a few minutes, stopped a girl staff member informed that we had arrived for booking. The girl went away and after a few minutes wait I ordered two drinks which arrived and then at 2.45 girl returned we were shown to a table, away from the majority of customers, informed somebody had sat at the table we reserved.Watermill not packed. Selected our meals went to bar to order. Did so and then told 40-45 mins delay before service. Said we had booked for 2.30 and therefore it would be after 3.30pm before meals arrived for a pub slot booked for 2.30-4pm. Told they had just received an order from sixteen people. They could not do it quicker. Returned our drinks to the bar even though we had paid girl staff member said it might be 35-40 mins. Walked out in disgust.

This pub really is the Marston's jewel in the crown. Come here regularly for something to eat and have never had a bad meal. Tables are always clean and tidied quickly. My family came on Christmas Day for Christmas dinner and could not fault it. It was well organised, and the food was lovely. Excellent lamb shank and vegetarian options. My dad has Alzheimer's so will only eat fish and chips. The staff went out of their way to provide this for him for his Christmas dinner. This was very much appreciated and meant a great deal. We come from Dudley especially for this pub. Fantastic landlady in Jan and her team are a true credit to her. Marston's should be very proud of this pub. Cannot recommend it enough. The food was cold, the pepsi max was flat, the steak over seasoned (pretty sure I've never had that much pepper on a meal before), you were out of chips so I got fries and they were so hard that I couldn't even pick them up with my fork. The cookie dough brownie thing felt frozen and gross. Nobody checked on us but we tried to talk to the girl who collected the dessert plate. When we said that it was horrible she just shrugged at us and walked off. With food this bad, the very least we deserved was an apology. Disgusting food and service and the place was cold. 0 stars, would absolutely not go back under any circumstances.

We celebrated our work’s Christmas party in a pub and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, and nothing too much trouble for them. Food was good. Served in good time. We definitely will be back to try the normal menu.

After losing my son earlier this year my grandchildren didn't want to have Xmas dinner at our usual venue, we asked if we could transfer our booking to the Watermill. The landlady and her staff made our visit a new and lasting memory, for which my family and I are extremely grateful. The food and service were fantastic, and the little extras such as presents for the children really made it special. Thank you so much for making Christmas Special again.

Service was great. Food was beautiful. Everything about the expierence was wonderful. I have never ate out for Christmas and didn't plan on doing it next year. But I think I might be booking again!

We had a wonderful Christmas meal. The food was served piping hot and the portions were very generous. All of the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The atmosphere was festive and really added to the occasion. We would definitely recommend it.

Had a roast. Small portion given for very high cost. Beef over chewy but Yorkshire puddings amazing. Things like red picked cabbage were dished with a teaspoon. Gravy for vegetarian came in a mini gravy dish. Had to ask for more. You'd be better eating at the Larchwood up the road beef up there better though Yorkshire not as good. Posh unlike the Larchwood but you don't get much for your money.

Went to the Watermill for Christmas Dinner. The three course meal was excellent, couldn’t fault it. We had a two hour slot which was just enough. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The decorations were amazing. Very festive. Would definitely have my Christmas dinner there again. Wish I could’ve thanked the chef personally for a great meal. Well done to all of the staff. This neighbourhood pub is our regular. Not only does the food never disappoint, but the staff are so friendly and are wonderful to our goofy greyhound, Finn. It's a great place to chat to people in a lovely setting and my husband and I always come away with a smile.

Been here previously and service was below standard. So gave it another go. Customer service is lacking, food missing to when asked the staff just bought the recipe to us to prove a point, despite someone not putting our order through correctly. My brother was told they could bring an extra starter out (he’d ordered a share platter which they’d put through as a started, staff said they didn’t do a share platter for wings despite it being on the menu) but he’d have to pay at the bar despite it being their fault not ours. Took ages to bring my partners food and my partners food out and my daughters food. Food missing off my daughters. When I asked staff they again bought the recipe out. I ordered off the app which is slightly different to the menu. Ordered pudding for my daughter but on he app it never mentioned fruit being in the jelly so she didn’t eat it anyway. There also wasn’t enough room for us all to eat, we’d reserved a table but we were all squashed as they’d put too many chairs on not enough tables.

The festive menu had plenty to choose from plus extras, the booking was easy and simple to use. The experience was lovely and the food was outstanding. Staff were polite and professional. I would definitely recommend this to Friends and look forward to booking again soon.

Extremely busy,( close to Christmas), we ordered the smaller cod and chips, a available 12-3 pm. After a long wait, when it came, one meal was much smaller than the other, both the fish and the chips. Apple crumble dessert was disappointing, the crumble very compact and microwaved to extreme heat but the apple was nice. The ice cream dessert was impressive but the advertised strawberry sauce was actually chocolate when it arrived.

We called back through after being at hospital all day,was tired,hungry, just wanted to have a nice meal and go to bed,my husband had the Steak and Ale Pie and chips,peas the chips and peas were like a childs meal,the inside of the pie was not even half full, absolutely pathetic for what was nearly £14, I had sirloin steak, asked for it to be cooked blue,it came medium to well done,the tomato, well I don't even know why that was put on the plate there was barely anything to it, barely any chips again,same as the peas, for nearly £16 ,we were really disappointed,we work hard for our money and when you go out to eat and spend good hard earned money on dub standard food,you don't go back to be let down.

Just over an hour wait for food last sunday although wasn't over busy then our meals all come out at different times so some of us had finished before others were served other than this a lovely meal and place to eat 🥰

The pub was very festive and nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly and food was superb! The staff who brought our food out was very polite and bubbly. The Christmas decorations looked beautiful! I’m definitely going back again soon. Haven’t been for a while and it’s changed a lot for the better. The food prices are reasonable. The drinks were very standard prices.

A very easy stop off on the way home. Plenty of space, so no issues with getting a table. Food arrived promptly. The burgers are amazing, really good. Lasagna also good and for once wasn't nuclear hot, so I could eat it straight away. Service was excellent, happy, polite waitresses who checked up on us to make sure all was ok. There is a dog treat and water bowl station, and good clean toilets.

Outstanding venue. Impeccably clean and cross spacious. A good amount of seating with all staff being very friendly. I was served quickly, and the food & drink was perfect. Not too busy in my Thursday visit, I guess weekend are their busiest. Car park is shared with Travelodge opposite and has limited spaces. I would suggest getting there by foot or public transport. I'll certainly visit again when next in the area. 10/10.

Just popped in around 3.00pm on a hop and a skip for something to eat. Fabulous welcome by who I imagine to be the manager. Ordered and was served drinks and food without any hassle. Fabulous service and , our food was freshly cooked and served… delicious. Plenty of it too. Comfortable and clean surroundings. Have been looking at festive menu, so will be back in run up to Christmas. Well done all at The Watermill😀😀😀😀

After a very enjoyable meal the previous evening we decided to go to the Watermill again for breakfast. It was delicious and again the staff were friendly! We were lucky enough to be attended to by the same waitress as the night before. So once again a very pleasant trip away and being right by the canal (where it is child and dog friendly) it was just perfect! 👌🏻

Nice place to sit. However, the Penang Curry was sweet - my Malaysian girlfriend was not impressed. (not an authentic dish).

I've been. It was definitely worth walking to and getting inside. A decent menu and selection of drinks. No, there's no worry on that score, Beryl and Ted never go in. ? Yes, I am sure. They have both been barred and there is a restraining order on them. No, definitely not. Beryl and Ted are no longer able to climb through windows or up the drain pipe. Yes, honestly they are both in a maximum security facility. Pardon ? 5 years each for arm wrestling in a public place, and singing loudly without due care and attention.

We enjoyed food and drinks with friends here. The staff were polite and the food was good. As we were a fairly large group we were put on 3 different tables. (It would have been nicer for us on one big table.)

Main meals didn't come out together. Hunters chicken said smothered but there was only just a spoon of bbq sauce on it
