Watermill in Wyre Forest

Was a meal as I'm staying across at the Travelodge during the week. Is a beautiful building, staff were friendly and helpful, the meal was very enjoyable

Arrived for booked 2.30pm slot. No-one to greet or explain the procedure. After a few minutes, stopped a girl staff member informed that we had arrived for booking. The girl went away and after a few minutes wait I ordered two drinks which arrived and then at 2.45 girl returned we were shown to a table, away from the majority of customers, informed somebody had sat at the table we reserved.Watermill not packed. Selected our meals went to bar to order. Did so and then told 40-45 mins delay before service. Said we had booked for 2.30 and therefore it would be after 3.30pm before meals arrived for a pub slot booked for 2.30-4pm. Told they had just received an order from sixteen people. They could not do it quicker. Returned our drinks to the bar even though we had paid girl staff member said it might be 35-40 mins. Walked out in disgust.

Great location, easy parking. The setting by the canal is great and the food arrived quickly and was great value for money. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Order a meal for 4 people Steak was burnt sent it back and the next one had a strange taste couldn't eat it Gammon was also burnt

This pub really is the Marston's jewel in the crown. Come here regularly for something to eat and have never had a bad meal. Tables are always clean and tidied quickly. My family came on Christmas Day for Christmas dinner and could not fault it. It was well organised, and the food was lovely. Excellent lamb shank and vegetarian options. My dad has Alzheimer's so will only eat fish and chips. The staff went out of their way to provide this for him for his Christmas dinner. This was very much appreciated and meant a great deal. We come from Dudley especially for this pub. Fantastic landlady in Jan and her team are a true credit to her. Marston's should be very proud of this pub. Cannot recommend it enough. The food was cold, the pepsi max was flat, the steak over seasoned (pretty sure I've never had that much pepper on a meal before), you were out of chips so I got fries and they were so hard that I couldn't even pick them up with my fork. The cookie dough brownie thing felt frozen and gross. Nobody checked on us but we tried to talk to the girl who collected the dessert plate. When we said that it was horrible she just shrugged at us and walked off. With food this bad, the very least we deserved was an apology. Disgusting food and service and the place was cold. 0 stars, would absolutely not go back under any circumstances.

Christmas meal was lovely and very tasty. Portion sizes were great. Timings were just right between each course. Staff went above and beyond.

We celebrated our work’s Christmas party in a pub and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, and nothing too much trouble for them. Food was good. Served in good time. We definitely will be back to try the normal menu.

Staff very friendly. Food is very tasty and great portion sizes. Left just the right amount of time between each serving. Great atmosphere.

This neighbourhood pub is our regular. Not only does the food never disappoint, but the staff are so friendly and are wonderful to our goofy greyhound, Finn. It's a great place to chat to people in a lovely setting and my husband and I always come away with a smile.

After losing my son earlier this year my grandchildren didn't want to have Xmas dinner at our usual venue, we asked if we could transfer our booking to the Watermill. The landlady and her staff made our visit a new and lasting memory, for which my family and I are extremely grateful. The food and service were fantastic, and the little extras such as presents for the children really made it special. Thank you so much for making Christmas Special again.

Went to the Watermill for Christmas Dinner. The three course meal was excellent, couldn’t fault it. We had a two hour slot which was just enough. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The decorations were amazing. Very festive. Would definitely have my Christmas dinner there again. Wish I could’ve thanked the chef personally for a great meal. Well done to all of the staff. Had a roast. Small portion given for very high cost. Beef over chewy but Yorkshire puddings amazing. Things like red picked cabbage were dished with a teaspoon. Gravy for vegetarian came in a mini gravy dish. Had to ask for more. You'd be better eating at the Larchwood up the road beef up there better though Yorkshire not as good. Posh unlike the Larchwood but you don't get much for your money.

We had a wonderful Christmas meal. The food was served piping hot and the portions were very generous. All of the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The atmosphere was festive and really added to the occasion. We would definitely recommend it.

Service was great. Food was beautiful. Everything about the expierence was wonderful. I have never ate out for Christmas and didn't plan on doing it next year. But I think I might be booking again!

Extremely busy,( close to Christmas), we ordered the smaller cod and chips, a available 12-3 pm. After a long wait, when it came, one meal was much smaller than the other, both the fish and the chips. Apple crumble dessert was disappointing, the crumble very compact and microwaved to extreme heat but the apple was nice. The ice cream dessert was impressive but the advertised strawberry sauce was actually chocolate when it arrived.

The festive menu had plenty to choose from plus extras, the booking was easy and simple to use. The experience was lovely and the food was outstanding. Staff were polite and professional. I would definitely recommend this to Friends and look forward to booking again soon.

Been here previously and service was below standard. So gave it another go. Customer service is lacking, food missing to when asked the staff just bought the recipe to us to prove a point, despite someone not putting our order through correctly. My brother was told they could bring an extra starter out (he’d ordered a share platter which they’d put through as a started, staff said they didn’t do a share platter for wings despite it being on the menu) but he’d have to pay at the bar despite it being their fault not ours. Took ages to bring my partners food and my partners food out and my daughters food. Food missing off my daughters. When I asked staff they again bought the recipe out. I ordered off the app which is slightly different to the menu. Ordered pudding for my daughter but on he app it never mentioned fruit being in the jelly so she didn’t eat it anyway. There also wasn’t enough room for us all to eat, we’d reserved a table but we were all squashed as they’d put too many chairs on not enough tables.

We called back through after being at hospital all day,was tired,hungry, just wanted to have a nice meal and go to bed,my husband had the Steak and Ale Pie and chips,peas the chips and peas were like a childs meal,the inside of the pie was not even half full, absolutely pathetic for what was nearly £14, I had sirloin steak, asked for it to be cooked blue,it came medium to well done,the tomato, well I don't even know why that was put on the plate there was barely anything to it, barely any chips again,same as the peas, for nearly £16 ,we were really disappointed,we work hard for our money and when you go out to eat and spend good hard earned money on dub standard food,you don't go back to be let down.

Just over an hour wait for food last sunday although wasn't over busy then our meals all come out at different times so some of us had finished before others were served other than this a lovely meal and place to eat 🥰

The pub was very festive and nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly and food was superb! The staff who brought our food out was very polite and bubbly. The Christmas decorations looked beautiful! I’m definitely going back again soon. Haven’t been for a while and it’s changed a lot for the better. The food prices are reasonable. The drinks were very standard prices.

A very easy stop off on the way home. Plenty of space, so no issues with getting a table. Food arrived promptly. The burgers are amazing, really good. Lasagna also good and for once wasn't nuclear hot, so I could eat it straight away. Service was excellent, happy, polite waitresses who checked up on us to make sure all was ok. There is a dog treat and water bowl station, and good clean toilets.

Outstanding venue. Impeccably clean and cross spacious. A good amount of seating with all staff being very friendly. I was served quickly, and the food & drink was perfect. Not too busy in my Thursday visit, I guess weekend are their busiest. Car park is shared with Travelodge opposite and has limited spaces. I would suggest getting there by foot or public transport. I'll certainly visit again when next in the area. 10/10.

Just popped in around 3.00pm on a hop and a skip for something to eat. Fabulous welcome by who I imagine to be the manager. Ordered and was served drinks and food without any hassle. Fabulous service and , our food was freshly cooked and served… delicious. Plenty of it too. Comfortable and clean surroundings. Have been looking at festive menu, so will be back in run up to Christmas. Well done all at The Watermill😀😀😀😀

What an amazing place, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the space is clean and very well decorated. The food is beautiful and definitely worth every penny. Definitely somewhere I'll be coming again

Food wasn't the best. Baguette was stale

After a very enjoyable meal the previous evening we decided to go to the Watermill again for breakfast. It was delicious and again the staff were friendly! We were lucky enough to be attended to by the same waitress as the night before. So once again a very pleasant trip away and being right by the canal (where it is child and dog friendly) it was just perfect! 👌🏻

I've been. It was definitely worth walking to and getting inside. A decent menu and selection of drinks. No, there's no worry on that score, Beryl and Ted never go in. ? Yes, I am sure. They have both been barred and there is a restraining order on them. No, definitely not. Beryl and Ted are no longer able to climb through windows or up the drain pipe. Yes, honestly they are both in a maximum security facility. Pardon ? 5 years each for arm wrestling in a public place, and singing loudly without due care and attention.

Nice place to sit. However, the Penang Curry was sweet - my Malaysian girlfriend was not impressed. (not an authentic dish).

Main meals didn't come out together. Hunters chicken said smothered but there was only just a spoon of bbq sauce on it

We enjoyed food and drinks with friends here. The staff were polite and the food was good. As we were a fairly large group we were put on 3 different tables. (It would have been nicer for us on one big table.)

We had a really nice meal. Couldn't give it 5* has they didn't have anything to take the granddaughter meal back home with us. After eating mine and her grandad yorkshire pudding off our meal, she couldn't eat her own mac and cheese, so we had to leave it. Which she would have eaten later. We were offered foil. I'm just being a bit petty. Really nice pub. Would definitely go back

Good but basic food at medium prices. The staff look and act like they'd rather be anywhere else. But if you are just there for a quick lunch and a beer then it's perfect.

Service was not very good, no attention to detail, or if I’m honest little care with the starter nearly thrown on the table and it did not get any better Just had a ‘ok’ meal down the Watermill, staff need a bit of training. The starter was put on the table on one plate with the each starter in an enamel dish with the server telling us what we had ordered without care and then walked away. In other words serve yourself. Lucky I have Teflon hands and fingers but anyone who does not handle heat would struggle. Then the mains I ordered sirloin rare for me, and my partner had Rump medium, when server arrived at the table we were greeted with the “rare one” 😳 it only takes a second to ask what was what in kitchen. In the past we have had really good service and a lovely meal. On this occasion the best is it was only ok and that is being generous. Such a shame when the Watermill is good it is a lovely place nice food and good staff. At the moment it feels like the kitchen staff and wait staff are on a different page and boy can you tell

Lovely atmosphere and food was great

We ordered at the table using the app, which was fine and relatively easy. Timings were good, and the food was very well cooked, presented and of a very good portion size, both mains and desserts. Staff were friendly, and the venue was bright, clean and had a nice atmosphere. Cash or card payment. Large car park outside.

Good food very reasonable prices

It was ok, but very commercial, yes there was a wake there which I thought would off been put into a different area. But it felt cramped dark and expensive for the type of food, my steak was tuff and cold and it wasn’t worth the £15.00. I had better steaks from other pubs. The staff was sort of ok. We did have one of the severs come and ask if our food was ok time to perfection as we all had mouth full, so could only nod. It looks good from the outside but the inside could do with be re gigged .

Had a Sunday lunch the veg was a bit over cooked and think the mash was the instant stuff. Beer was OK though

We are regulars at the Watermill with our greyhound Finn. The service and food quality are outstanding. The option to order via QR code is also very useful. However, it's the friendliness of the team who work there and the relaxed atmosphere that keep us coming back. It is always a pleasure to visit.

Definitely a dog friendly place on the wooden floor level, which is totally fine They even have a little doggy menu 🐾🐾 for our furry friend's. Chicken. Sausages & a couple of other item's too. As well as a jar of doggy biscuits, water bowls & a few blankets for when your pooch is a bit chilly 🐾🥰 For the humans 😍. Pre-booked table was ready up arrival. Pub was moderately busy, but there was plenty of space. We were served at the bar by Emma. She was very friendly, knew the menu very well, and provided efficient friendly service. We all agreed that the food we had was excellent. (Table of 8 aged 3-70 years).

Fod was ok ,I guess the view maid it acceptable .

Throughly enjoyed our evening. We were made to feel welcome with our baby daughter, the atmosphere of the pub was great and so were the food and drinks. The food and drinks promotions were fantastic.

Very busy when we arrived we were informed straight away about a 40 minute wait on food, by the pink haired “girl” on the bar she was lovely when taking our order and informative about veggie options. The food came out quicker than expected, was hot and fresh. Would come again

Visitied with my wife for a quick bite to eat, the staff were incredibly friendly and food was served quickly. I'd highly recommend the fish and chips, great portion size and crispy batter!

When we got there we got a very warm welcome and they told use where we was sitting then we ordered are food and the food was really nice and good for the money too

Great pub both aesthetically and location. Lovely beer garden on the canal with a play area for the children. As 2 families of 4 adults and 5 children we enjoyed food and drinks taking advantage of the kids eat for a £1. Food standard was high which came quickly and warm (lasagne). Kids meals were also a decent portion size (fish & chips). Drinks are quite expensive, £6+ for a Cruzcampo and standard meal prices are quite high but overall lovely pub, very friendly, clean and welcoming

I came in earlier with my family and was served by someone called Kiera, who was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend.

Lovely atmosphere. Prompt service with a smile from the staff member who checked the order was correct. Not hurried. Promptly returned with drinks and food service. . Prawn cocktail was disappointing. Sauce not mixed properly. Pudding delightful , great meal out
