Very over priced and our food was cold and waitress forgot our drinks

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was beautiful. It’s a really nice setting and atmosphere.

Epic Christmas Day dinner. Full table service on the day. Lovely friendly staff and amazing food. So lovely that we could bring our whippet Willow along too, making it a full family occasion (we requested an appropriate table on booking). We did the first 12pm serving and never felt rushed. We'll be back... worth every penny to make Christmas special. Kudos to all who worked as we tucked in 👌☃️🎅❄️🍾

Another very nice visit to the Dog. Pleasant atmosphere, good beer and great service. Can't ask for more.

We had 3 roast dinners which were all cold and lacking enough on the plate to satisfy us. The heating was only working in a small part of the restaurant were the lighting was so dark you couldn't see what you were eating. Really disappointing as we have previously visited and had a good meal.

We were a party of 8. Service and quality of food was excellent with no issues. Staff were helpful and friendly. Very enjoyable experience thank you.

Dropped in when passing and so glad we did the food was great all Cooked perfectly. The staff was all lovely and very friendly.

Staff were super helpful and attentive, can't think of any negatives. My daughter and I both enjoyed our burgers and we think your chips are delicious. We are highly likely to return in the next few months as we regularly travel between Bristol and Stourbridge, you guys arr becoming our favourite go to. Thanks all

Lovely pub in the picturesque setting of Harvington with large car park. Typical pub food but good quality and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely place to visit, with a warm and cosy feel. Food was very nice and the service was great.

Atmosphere was welcoming, although a bit chilly where we sat by entrance to the dining section. Hunters chicken was tasty, chips were OK however we asked for double salad instead of chips and we got green leaves, no other salad ingredients. We ordered some desserts which were OK however the crumble was dried with not enough fruit filling. Not too sure we would return. All in all it was OK and the staff were friendly.

Really enjoyable from the moment we walked through the door , our server was lovely and friendly and was always on hand if we needed anything . The food was so lovely and best meal we’ve had in a long time . We will definitely be returning in the future .

The area we sat in was cold. Although the management knew about this issue, ie the expanse of single glazed windows, they have done nothing to improve the situation. The Christmas fare was average, spoilt by the gravy, which was not a good match for the turkey. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.

We regularly visit as a large group for family celebrations. Great menu and atmosphere, reasonably priced and good location. Nice choice of vegetarian options. Lovely, friendly service as usual from Aleece and another young man

Two Scot’s brothers & thier family dog travelled to Kidderminster to look at buying a van found this pub just along the road, found the name appealing, the food was great, staff were very friendly & beer was good although no tennent’s🤣🤣 we camped up in our camper van in the car park, we bought the van & done the same trip 6 days later and got to know the girls better. A big thankyou to Anna, Emily& Emma for welcoming us we will be back to see you all next year. Mike, Harry & Sara the dog xx

27/10/24 After being let down at another pub, even though these guys were very busy, they found us a table and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, service and setting, the apple and cherry crumble was soooooo good ❤️ Once back from our honeymoon we will be returning for another meal or 2 ❤️ 17/11/24 WELL! after a 3 week honeymoon we returned here today for a final meal before we return to work, what can I say, same meals, same deserts, same fantastic service. We would highly recommend this Pub/Resturant to anyone looking for a relaxed evening out for a nice meal at a fantastic location with brilliant service ❤️

Delicious Sunday lunch quick service good price

After being badly let down by another local pub we came here, explained what had happened and they found us a table, the food, service and atmosphere is fantastic, a lovely place to eat, we will highly recommend and will be coming back. The Apple and Cherry Crumble with Custard was awesome ❤️❤️

I haven't been to the dog for many a year, looks like I've been missing out, a charming, warm pub with very friendly, accommodating staff, fantastic selection of drinks and meals. I can't find any fault with the service or meals we received and would recommend the dog to anyone local or passing through.

Friendly and welcoming, had our dog so sat outside until it rained then relocated inside staff helped arranged seating and table so we wher all together

Went in for a Drink. A bit disappointed with the fact a lot of tables were reserved in the bar area!!! We wanted to sit in the bay window but reserved on it! So had to sit at the back of room which was dark and glumly! And nobody used the table in the bay window while we were there! So could have sat there and with only having a drink we wouldn’t have messed up the table.

Relaxed and comfortable lunch.....nothing too much trouble, we decided on the three courses for £18.50 for lunch. The menu was very good with plenty of choices available. Food was tasty and well presented and good portions. Anna and the team were friendly and helpful, which made all the difference for our treat at the Dog. Thank You.

I have already recommended The Dog to family. We had a wonderful meal here. The food was tasty and one of the best pub meals we have had in the last year. The staff are really friendly and helpful and there is a nice atmosphere. We eill definitely be returning.

We were greeted at the door and escorted to a table. There was plenty of room, no crowded feeling. The choice of food was good, the meals arrived quite quickly and were excellent.

Awesome place. Only popped in on the way home from a family day out and it's a real hidden gem. Food was well presented and tasted great. Excellent range of drinks and all the staff I talked with were happy to help. Only negative point was the gents toilet was tiny especially with 3 of us squeezed in.

Easy booking, friendly welcome and prompt service. All the food arrived in a timely manner and the six of us were all served at the same time. Decent selection of drinks available. The food was quite nice but lacked a bit of finesse in its presentation and the sirloin steaks (3) were all a bit gristly so weren't great cuts. Overall a good basis but a bit of polish would raise the rating and customer satisfaction to the top level for a pub of this type.

It is a amazing place lovely staff, food and the feel of the atmosphere is warm and inviting the menu online is also clear about allergies the outdoor sitting garden is a lovely place for the sunny weather a great place to be with friends day or night 10/10 recommend.

Beautiful pub and dog friendly. We popped in on a Sunday lunchtime last minute. The friendly staff managed to accommodate us even though they were fully booked. I cannot rate the Sunday roast enough, it was a generous portion and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely visit again.

We decided to visit the Dog after some 5 years or so since we last went and some decent reviews. We went as 2 couples on Saturday at 1pm and were surprised by how quiet it was, we were the first In the dining area followed over the next hour by just 2 couples. We were not certain why this is because the food standard was certainly very good and the service was OK. All in all it was a good experience so it is surprising, the 3 chicken dishes our group ordered was excellent and very well presented, if anything our only gripe would be the puddings were slightly overpriced but that really is being picky. Overall it certainly deserves better. What did surprise us was nothing to do with the place or the very nice ladies who looked after us, why anyone would allow there dog to do its business on the front step of the pub is beyond me, even if it was cleared go and take your dog somewhere away from the place to do a number 2, you are potentially driving business away from the hard working owners.

Thought we would try this for a meal always looked a nice place and we wasn't wrong, we was welcomed and shown to our table a nice one by the bar with big arm chairs was comfy we ordered drinks which came very quickly,we then ordered mains I went fir the mix grill and my daughter went fir the chicken salad with fries, well my mixed grill everything was cooked to perfection and tasted excellent and the chios was crispy and soft in the centre couldn't fault the food or the drinks, my daughter said the salad was excellent too,we both had room for dessert and went for the chocolate brownie sundae which also was very tasty with no cheap ingredients, overall a great experience and hopefully be back again.

Booked a table online for Sunday lunch which was easy to do. The staff were welcoming and seated us straight away and left us to look through the menu, which has a decent amount to offer. We all decided on the Sunday roast and it did not disappoint, very well presented and everything was well cooked and was really good quality, even our 9 year old who doesn't normally finish a roast ate the lot. We would have tried a pudding but were too full. Definitely worth a try!

We decided on this restaurant because it had been a while since we went and had always enjoyed it, because it's a bit out of the way, we had forgotten all about it, until our memories came up on Facebook. It was easy to book, easy to park and we received a warm welcome. Our table was lovely and our service very good. Food was excellent, a bit more than we normally pay but worth it. The music in the background was breathtaking. I've never heard so much northern soul played without getting up to dance. I loved it and was amazed when told it was piped music the same as in all the brands restaurants. I truly believed the manager must have been a soulie. I have already recommended to my other friends, we struggle as there are 8 of us and we like a round table, stupidly I forgot to look! But we will be back

Myself and 10 other friends, (all in our 70's and 80's) were really looking forward to lunch at The Dog Inn, Hartington today following a lovely but strenuous (for us) five-mile hike around the beautiful countryside surrounding the nearby Hartington Hall. We were not disappointed! Although a little later than booked, the welcome from the staff was really friendly, and the way we old pensioners were looked after by our waitress Ellie was exceptional. After serving much needed drinks to us at our table, we chose from both the special lunch and the al-a-carte menus, and regardless of our individual choses , all agreed that the taste and quality was very good, the prices very reasonable, and the cheerful and efficient way that Ellie dealt with requests had resulted in a really enjoyable conclusion to our day together. Large group bookings impose extra stress on the kitchen staff in ensuring that meals are served together, and we appreciate that good management and commitment by the "behind the scenes" staff all contribute to creating the friendly atmosphere we all enjoyed today. Thank you to all.

Worst fish and chips I have ever had Peas were under cooked batter was greasy and fish not fresh Service could be improved had to wait a long time for dessert menu and dessert It’s a shame cause it is a nice place

Further to my friend’s review (Keeley C) the four of us were invited back for a meal on Saturday evening. It was such a different experience to our visit a few weeks ago. We had a lovely table in the dining area where there was a nice atmosphere. The food was delicious, well cooked and well presented. We were well looked after by Anna who was very knowledgeable, friendly and went above and beyond. Thanks so much to Danni and your team. We could not fault anything and will definitely be back.

We had a great experience. The staff were really friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The meals we had were delicious and with a certain lager priced at 2 for £7, made it even better value.

Lovely staff, food and surroundings. My husband asked for a rare steak and was really pleased with what he got. It was rare and not medium as so often is the case when he orders steak. We are looking forward to visiting again.

Made to feel very welcome in the bar with our dog Skye. Food was great we just had a burger, a kebab skewer and some drinks.. The staff were so friendly, they loved the dog.. made a huge fuss over her, gave her treats and a bit of turkey too.. Great job all at The Dog, a lovely atmosphere.

Enjoyed a really lovely lunch here today. Booked beforehand for the garden, but on arrival we changed our minds as weather not as expected. The very welcoming member of staff was more than happy to find us a table inside. The food and service were excellent, and the pub itself is very pleasant and relaxing. Would definitely recommend. We booked a Wednesday special offer meal of a pie and a pint of your choice according to the website Upon arrival we were told that the drinks available were only ales or lager or soft drinks this was disappointing as my girlfriend only drinks Guinness and I only drink cider so we questioned this with staff to be told that there was nothing they could do about it as the tills would not let any other drinks than what they were offering So anyone else thinking off this offer beware of the drinks situation

Came in for a quick bite to eat, and wasn't dissapointed! The food was lovely I recommend the homemade kebabs they're to die for! And our evening couldn't of been more accommodated for by ellie! She was such a delight and ready to help up with all our needs.

Our grandson's 18th Birthday party was held at the The Dog last night. What an awesome experience!! The welcome, front of house team and quality of food exceeded all our expectations and well deserved the five star review given. Special mention of Ellie must be made. She was superb - looking after us, sorting everything to make the evening such an amazing success. Well done Ellie you're a star.
