Went for Sunday lunch for my father in laws birthday. There was a deal on 2 course for £10. I’ve previously ate here and thought it was a lovely place. Walking in the whole atmosphere just felt off. Spoken to the lady behind the bar said I had a table booked for 3.30pm, she told me my table wasn’t ready so had to wait. A minute later it was suddenly ready, went into the restaurant there was no more than 4 tables it was so quiet! All 4 of us ordered the Sunday roasts. And asked for 3x additional cauliflower cheese. The young male waiter comes over and said they only have enough for 2 portions but would put them in one big dish. The roast it’s self looked nice, the roast potatoes when you bite into them was very oily. After we all had a spoon of cauliflower cheese the bowl in the middle had some left, I noticed a fly …. The fly hadn’t just fell into the cauliflower as it was a miserable day all the windows and doors were closed. It had in-fact been cooked in the cauliflower!!!! There was nothing fresh about the veg. The fact a fly was cooked in the cauliflower suggests really poor hygiene and once the bowls of veg have left your table they get reused. When I told the waitress there’s a fly in cauliflower cheese the response wasn’t very helpful. She didn’t apologise she simply took the dish and didn’t return. No one checked in our table to see if we were ok. It was a pretty awful experience and the waitresses lacked any skills. I only ate 4 bites of my main because i couldn’t get over the fly being in the cauliflower cheese. It really did spoil my meal, I eat a lot slower than everybody else. We tried to carry on the best we could as the whole thing was just awkward. We ordered 4 cheesecakes, I asked what it came with the waitress with dark hair said ice cream but her attitude came across quite rude. If it wasn’t my in-laws birthday I would have walked out. The cheesecake itself was ok more like a mouse with biscuit at the bottom. When paying for the meal, the waitress assured me the cauliflower cheese had been taken off but again no apologises and the whole thing seems to have been dismissed. In my opinion my meal should have been taken off or the drinks could have been taken off. Later on the evening around 7pm I actually threw up 3 times. I’ve previously worked in catering and never came across anything like this, the lady’s response and the poor hygiene is just a disgrace. The fact the pub wasn’t very busy says a lot. Would highly recommend avoiding!

Empty and somewhat chilly at lunchtime today . There is a log burner but not lit , barmaid seemed uninterested in anything and disappeared a lot and left us alone in the bar . Food was nice but the service did not match up to it. Been at weekends and much better atmosphere and more friendly bar staff . It doesn’t take much to make a conversation

Please avoid. Half the stuff in the meals we ordered wasn’t on the plate, no peas, no sweet potatoe fries. The mediterranean flat bread was inedible. The plate the flatbread came on was softer than the flatbread. The waitress didn’t mention they had nothing in stock, they just chose to bring the plate out with what they did have. super strange. Iv never seen anything like it and by a million miles THE worst country pub I have ever eaten in. 1 star is generous in this review. The place needs to be closed or a massive change in the kitchen and cleaners they employee.

Visited The Queens Head twice this week and had a fabulous experience on both occasions. £9.95 for 2 courses is now unknown in most pubs, the chef clearly knows how to cook and present food. Everything we ordered was freshly cooked, slightly smaller portions on the main but that was complimented by pudding which was clearly home made and plentiful leaving you knowing that stomachs were full and contented. The beers on tap were to those who look for it, fresh and I could tell the pipes were regularly cleaned. I would highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area as we were, at the local camp site. 10 out of 10 chef!🍺😊👍

some friends and i decided to pop in for a drink as we had heard really good things about this pub recently. It is a really charming place and in such a lovely location next to the little stream which my friends dogs enjoyed a paddle in. The food looked good so we decided to order. We all had something different, i chose the fish and chips which was so tasty. The chips were homemade and really fluffy but still crispy on the outside and the dish was really good! The others had the steak baguette and the mac and cheese burger which they also said were great and really tasty! We had dessert too as it was only £9.95 for 2 courses. We all chose the oreo cheesecake and it’s probably the best desserts i’ve ever had!! There was a good selection of drinks especially as my friends love a gin and there were plenty of flavours to choose from! We will be back again soon!!

We decided to try the Queens Head in Wolverley hadn't been in since Sue & Clive ran the pub a few years back. We popped in after 2pm but they said they serve food all day? The menu had a limited choice typical pub food. I first asked for the fish of the day and was told it wasn't on, so both my Wife and I decided on Pie and Mash - they were offering main meal & desert for £10 Just two tables were being used but they both left leaving us the only two in the lounge. The staff were all quite young but nice and friendly and quickly brought over our drinks. When the food came they brought two Pie & Chips when we had both ordered Pie & Mash. My Wife decided hers was OK buy I sent mine back and asked for mash like I'd ordered. As usual I had to wait for their silly mistake while my wife tucked in to her hot meal which is not ideal when you have come out to eat together. They brought me my Pie & Mash - the Mash was cold and the stem broccoli too? the pie was hot with what I considered a poorly topped pastry (not good) I called them over and told them the mash was cold which they took away and microwaved it hot. It was then brought back for the third time but by this time was Wife had eaten her lunch - the food was very disappointing other than the two deserts they brought out they were both quite nice and we both enjoyed but I will not return to eat there again, the main meals we had were poor quality I guess the moral of our adventure is you get what you pay for £10 each for a meal and desert but I expected more, when Sue did the cooking the food was always excellent. I wound not recommend anyone to eat in the Queens Head at the moment it was really very poor. I went to pay and the Young lady said I've only charged you Children's price on the one meal and had knocked off £2.90 I think it was which didn't even cover the poor experience of having to bring me my meal back twice, wrong order, cold food, not eating together and the poor quality of the meal Lovely Country pub for a drink but I wouldn't eat there if it was free.

My neighbours took my wife and I there for lunch as a birthday present for me because they had had a good experience previously. They said we could take our dog because they had seen the sign 'dog friendly'. Yes they were dog friendly but you had to sit in the back dining room which was effectively a corridor which contained the entrance to the toilets and also had the Fire Escape door at one end. The Fire Escape door also doubled up as the entrance to the Garden. It was a cold windy day and the door was open although clearly marked 'Please close when not in use' I closed it but it was opened on a number of occasions to allow a child to wander around outside. On arrival at our seats the waiter immediately took our drinks order. He brought the drinks to the table and then went and fetched the menus. We then waited at least 20 minutes for the waiter to come and take our order. The other couple thinking that perhaps they needed to order at the bar went to the bar and were told that a waiter would come and take the order which he did immediately, strange that! There were a number of items not available including fish! We gave our order and waited at least half an hour (we had burgers) for the food to come to the table, the food to be fair was quite good. No cutlery so another wait whilst he fetched the cutlery. Would you like any Salt/Vinegar/Sauces etc so another wait whilst he fetched those. All in all a display of shall we say 'Training Needs and perhaps lack of motivation. Having been in the hospitality business all I'll say is good customers are hard to come by, when you get them look after them. You only get one chance to make a first impression and this was pretty miserable. Up your game Queens Head or you'll fail as a business.

The food is exceptionally good value, we had the burger with bacon and mozzarella and the pork loin with mushroom and stilton sauce, roast baby potatoes and greens - followed by ice cream sundaes with brownie pieces and caramel sauce. Reassuring to see quite a small menu, where the ingredients are kept fresh and all is done to perfection. Something for everyone on there too. Really tasty and nicely cooked. Their home brand ale is really good too. It's a peaceful place by the stream and a cute beer garden surrounded by woods and stream. We will be back soon to try the Sunday roast ☺️

Called in for lunch last Friday after the Queen's Head was recommended by the manager at the local caravan site. The pub is located in a very quirky village which is worth a visit in its own right. We got chatting to the friendly landlord and he went out of his way (literally) to provide my wife with a modified main course and a gluten / dairy free dessert (doctor's orders sadly). I'm sure food intolerances are the bane of a chef's existence but this was all done for us most willingly. That aside, the quality, flavour and presentation of the food was excellent, and (at the time of writing this) exceptional value at £9.90 for two courses. We went back for lunch the following day too (our last day) so I guess that says it all. Next time we will definitely try and Sunday roast. Thanks a lot to the landlord and staff, it really made our trip.

Lovely old pub, well worth a visit. We went this afternoon for Sunday lunch. It's very close to us, and decided to go on the basis of good midweek food enjoyed there in March 23. We had food there a few times before the most recent change of management, and it was pretty dire - microwave specials, lots of cooking oil. But my goodness, today's offering was on a different planet entirely. The roast beef was wonderful, easily the tenderest and best tasting roast beef I have had in many years. The veg was cooked beautifully, as was the Yorkshire pudding. Portions were generous, leaving you feeling very well fed. Others in our group had a mixed meat roast (beef, pork and turkey - you can have any combination) - and a vegetarian option. Suffice to say, clean plates all round. Desserts were very good indeed, and beautifully presented. Service was prompt and friendly. Kids are welcome, and there's a lovely part-covered beer garden at the rear. This pub really deserves to prosper.

On mentioning to the waitress that I had an appointment to keep when ordering the deserts over a half hour later we got our deserts. The waitress was very surly.. Lovely looking pub in a great location. Just called in for a couple of drinks on a very sunny afternoon. There appeared to be a private function on which unfortunately left the bar far too short of staff. Initially only 1 person serving, then joined by a colleague who said she hadn't pulled a pint for 30 years and couldn't work the till. This led to a queue out of the door. Popped in today for an impromptu lunch, and glad we did, a limited lunch menu but having said that we found easy to choose, food was served in a time that we felt was all cooked freshly, chips were chunky and fab, side salad, best I've had in a long time, portions really good for a lunch, pub was very clean, so an absolute bonus, the waitress that served us was so multi tasking, bar taking orders serving and clearing tables, all the time cheery and efficient, when I ordered I asked for lots of tartar sauce, once my meal had been served she asked did I need more, ooh yes please , it came within minutes, quite obviously homemade and was delicious, So meals for 3 adults plus drinks all for under £40, bargain. Strange we had to make 2 card payments one for drinks and one for food, but not an issue and sure there is a reason?? Will we return most certainly, we also going to give the Saturday breakfast a go at £7 including tea or coffee.

Fantastic to have great food on the doorstep. Sunday lunch was super, and have since tried the ‘Queens Burger’, will be back again for one of those!

Outside the door for 12.00 but door closed.Soon after a lad turned up that must work there but he couldn’t get in either. He phoned someone who was coming to open the door but no food would be available until 2pm.No option but to take our custom elsewhere. We normally enjoy a bottle of wine along with our lunchtime meal. With so much competition in Bewdley if the Pack Horse doesn’t get its act together it will not be here long.

The staff here are truly charming and do their utmost to make things brilliant - the Indian food was excellent starters and mains, beef cheeks were also mouthwatering and tender - great experience thoroughly recommended

Nice atmosphere quaint pub but food lacking, had the scotch egg starter, it was dry and a bit scabby. Why give you half an egg???

After being badly let down by another local pub we came here, explained what had happened and they found us a table, the food, service and atmosphere is fantastic, a lovely place to eat, we will highly recommend and will be coming back. The Apple and Cherry Crumble with Custard was awesome ❤️❤️
