Popped in on a random Tuesday lunchtime the place was empty but that didn't put us off the service was very good, food excellent selection of drinks was spot on and the main reason we went is how dog friendly they are so we could take our little pooch with us. Would definitely visit again

First time visit to the Gingerbread Man. Nice looking venue with plenty of parking. Lovely friendly staff. Not a lot of customers or staff. Ordered two lattes, one served in a chipped mug, changed without any problem. Ordered fish and chips. Chips ok, fish on the small side and dry. Ordered vegan burger with chips. Chips ok, burger rock hard. Complained, meal was changed without any problem. The kitchen manager described the burger as being like an ice hockey puck. We were offered complimentary dessert as compensation. Staff very apologetic. Very disappointed with the meal, will not eat here again. Can understand why there were very few customers.

We were staying in the local area and struggling to find dog friendly pubs. I sent an email and Jack came back to me straight away and booked us in for Sunday Lunch. We both had the Roast Beef and it was delicious. We really liked that they offer different sizes, the regular was perfect for us. The pub was welcoming, the staff and locals all very friendly. Jack was a great host! We would highly recommend and if in the area again would come back without a doubt!

We stayed here a few weeks ago and enjoyed it so much we had to come back. Wonderful wholesome, home cooked food, clean and comfortable room. Our stay was made even better by the wonderful welcoming and cheerful local residents who were more than happy to chat the night away. Ashley was super attentive, makes a good cocktail and very entertaining too! Can't wait for an opportunity to visit again in the summer 🌞 Thanks for a wonderful stay. Lee & Dawn

Wot's cooking is a great place to sit in and get a nice fish and chips. Located in the heart of oswestry. It's located near a post office and even a betting shop, it has plenty around it. The staff are friendly and they are really generous with portions. What's cooking deserves to be on a seaside location really, but it serves well in oswestry. It's cozy in there too, there's been a few times where I've had a meal sitting in there as its been raining outside. So if your in oswestry and fancy some food, get yourself some chips from wot's cooking and enjoy their service!

Our family party of 18 people celebrated a joint 18th and 60th birthday on Saturday 8th February 2025. Huge compliments to the chef for our meals… the food was fresh, tasty, well presented and good portion sizes too! Great value. We had a variety of meals including some starters. Also, thanks to our wonderful waitress who took our drink orders and looked after 18 of us all evening. Thank you for the birthday banner, 18 and 60 cards, which was thoughtful and much appreciated. I know the beer drinkers in the family would want me to mention the real ale was a big hit too!

Beautiful food, tried the back pudding bon bons and the slow roasted belly pork both were perfectly good and tasted amazing, the staff were very friendly and helpful would highly recommend this place, but book in advance as it got busy really quickly.

Was recommended the ham egg & chips so had to visit t see if the recommendation was cosher ...... 👍it definitely was so good. Other half had the burger which he said was good. There was a good choice on the menu - but not too much that you cant make your mind up and it's definitely worth trying it if you want to taste for yourself. The staff were lovely - especially the barman - think his name was Steph and he was even working on his birthday 🎂. Was so impressed with the place will probably go back tomorrow and try something different.

From the moment we were greeted we knew we were going to have a great meal. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. The food was beautifully presented without being over fussy. We felt like we had plenty of time between courses without feeling rushed but neither were we left unattended. The food ( the reason for our visit) was amazing, stunning to look at, but most importantly tasting just as good as it looked. Definitely worth many return visits.
