We visited this establishment 31st August for lunch and when I ordered the food I was advised it was a 20 minute wait to which I said it was not a problem. One hour later our starters arrived, then 30 minutes later we were advised that they had run out of ham so one of our party had to order something different, then 3 of the main courses arrived and we had to wait another 20 minutes for the final main by which time 3 of us had finished our meals. Very little in the way of an apology, one free drink to make up for the missing ham. The food was average but the level of service was appalling, I would not recommend this pub to anyone as it was a total letdown.

A huge thank you to Lizzie and the team at The Royal Fountain Inn Cleobury Mortimer. Nineteen of us from Ludlow U3a ‘Strolling with a Purpose’ walking group descended upon them after a long and muddy walk. All of us tired, hungry and more than ready for our pre-booked lunch. Excellent in every way with five stars for the welcome, five stars for accommodating such a large group and fitting us all perfectly into the dining area, five stars for the service and five stars for the food and five stars for value. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be back.

Great little pub. We were a group pf walkers who turned up unannounced and were given a smiling welcome from the landlady. Simple but good pub grub, and good sized portions. Well kept ales too. What more is needed?

Lunch with friends ,Christmas theme,excellent food and service. So lucky to have in our area. Excellent choice of food and wine,beer good also.

We visited for a drink on a Friday afternoon, had a fantastic vibe with good drinks and also dog friendly. We decided to have dinner there, and unfortunately was a mixed experience. Pie was fantastic and all elements on the plate were cooked well, but unfortunately the gluten free option for the burger was disappointing. The burger came out between two bits of sandwich bread and came out extremely rare. We would return but would not order the burger again. Overall a good atmosphere in the afternoon and evening

Excellent Father’s Day lunch today with family. Very tasty and excellent service. We had chicken wings and prawn cocktails & Brie wedges to start, followed by salmon, beef and pork, tasty. We will be returning soon. Thank-you to the chef & staff 👍

As regular visitors to The Fountain we enjoy the quality and presentation of the always excellent food and the warm welcoming friendly staff. Parking may seem a little tricky but be aware that there is a large public car park at the rear of the Talbot, a 5 minute walk away, accessed via childe road/ love lane or the hurst, less ambulant party members may be dropped in the no parking bay in front of the pub. Not one to miss if you are out this way!

Met with friends for lunch ,friendly atmosphere good selection of vegetarian food as well standard choice ,all really enjoyed our lunch .Typical old pub not done out in a corporate style .A surprisingly large beer garden and marquee at the back leading down to a stream ,new owners since Dec . Would be a great cycling stop ,I believe they are putting bike racks in as well .Well done in maintaining traditional old style pub .

Had a lovely family meal here, including one person who needed gluten free options. Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere.

It was a bit of a surprise for me to meet up with family 15 in all we all were really happy with our meals friendly service and plenty of choices and desserts were delicious so to Lizzie and the chef on duty and waiting staff thank for lovely birthday treat

Visited the Royal fountain for a meal last night. The food was out of this world with an amazing selection to choose from. Service was very good not having to wait to long for our food to arrive. Will definitely visit again

We booked a table for 6 of us on Saturday night as we had be informed that the pub had reopened and we were hearing loads of good things, we were not disappointed in the slightest. The range of food and drink was fantastic and we had no problem picking something we wanted. The staff were all very friendly and efficient we can’t wait to return soon!

Well where to start , from the moment I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome and a smile . This always creates a fantastic first impression. The pub itself is warm and inviting lots of light and a log burner crackling away in the back ground , the bar has a good selection of drinks to cover all tastes I particularly liked the Madri , the menu has a variety of good pub food to tantalise anyones taste buds , lighter options to good size portions , very tasty and all freshly cooked . The establishment had just been awarded its 5 star rating which is always good to see in the window . The pub offers indoor and outdoor dining with an amazing outdoor Marquee and garden area ( with heaters ) The host and owner is very approachable and friendly and service was off a high standard this going with the quality of food , I would recommend a visit here with out a doubt .

This was the worst meal that I have ever had in a pub,although the pub was quiet we waited nearly an hour for our food, the steak was inedible and when I complained the waiter said I should visit on an evening when the chef would be on duty. I would never use the pub again

Had a few drinks in this pub usually sticking to Butty Bach cask ale. They also do Robinson s cider which my wife is partial to. They do food but the menu is largely pizza based and I have never tried it.

Outside space was a pleasant surprise- tables spaced well- drinks reasonably priced- staff very pleasant, friendly & helpful- also very impressed with how clean the ladies loos were-makes such a difference- thank you.

Great local pub for great food & beers. Felt very safe during the pandemic, all staff very friendly & efficient. The pizzas & burgers are amazing !

We visited for lunch today and sat out in the garden area as per covid guidelines. We were greeted by the lovely staff team who took our drinks order and provided us with a lunch menu. The garden is really nice with a number of picnic benches, flowers and a play area with a wendy house further down the garden. It was such a lovely sunny day, the food was delicious and we even stayed for pudding. Nothing was too much and the staff made sure we were well looked after. We look forward to returning soon and have already recommended it to two families that live near by. Thank you :)

We had a very enjoyable evening, great social distancing, table service was excellent, staff were very welcoming. We both had burgers which were extremely tasty, I had the goats cheese with caramelised onion on mine, the fries were excellent too, no desserts in this pub but to be honest it didn’t matter.

Food is incredible staff are even better ! Totally awesome night for a friends birthday couldn’t recommend enough ! These guys have done such a fab job

Booked in for a meal with my friend, we were welcomed at the entrance and details checked by a staff member, due to current situation with covid there were hand sanitisers available and staff were wearing visors. Table service for drinks were efficient, the staff very friendly and helpful.Food was amazing, started off with a portion of nachos and then had a burger each for main, good sized portions and delicious! The staff sanitised tables and chairs between customers. Great atmosphere made us feel very comfortable eating and drinking there, will definitely be back again!

Went in on a Friday evening (14th August 2020) for a meal with a friend. Upon entering the premises we were welcomed with a smile by the staff, who took our details straight away for the track and trace scheme. We were then taken to our table by another member of staff who asked is if the table they had reserved for us was ok, which it was. Both our food order and drink order were taken smoothly and swiftly, and the food arrived promptly, which was absolutely delicious! All table service, the tables were all spaced out and the staff all wore visors which made us feel very safe. All staff were also equipped with their own hand sanitizer strapped to themselves, another nice touch to making us feel safe in the current COVID climate. Fantastic atmosphere, fantastic staff and fantastic food. What’s more to like?

We popped into The Fountain whilst on holiday after the person in whose house we were staying recommended it. We only had a drink but the people behind the bar we so welcoming that we wanted to thank them with a positive review.The garden is a perfect haven as Britain continues to shelter from the pandemic. All the tables, painted in bright pastel shades, are socially distant and take a look at the Banksy-style mural on the back wall of the pub - a thank you to the staff of the NHS.And, no sooner did we sit down to enjoy a pint than the landlady came out with £4 in change. I'd paid by card and the previous customer's drinks had, by mistake been charged to it. We're used to London prices, so I hadn't noticed. She had.Judging by other reviews, the food looks good, too. Drop in if you're on holiday and you're passing.

Despite previous reviews, we found The Royal Fountain very Covid compliant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food beautiful. Great service, would definitely recommend

Good service, good atmosphere and very good food. However, we were very uneasy with the fact that one member of staff in particular had her visor tilted right back, so she might as well not have been wearing one. Also, I”m afraid that we saw no evidence of any staff members sanitising their hands before delivering food to the table or after collecting used glasses from the tables having picked them up by the rims. It is with regret that we don’t feel able to visit the Royal Fountain again unless hygiene protocols are followed more rigidly. Sorry.

exceedingly friendly staff and superb food make this the place to go in Cleobury. Its got pleanty of ourside seating for either a drink or dining. The menu is small mainly featuring a variety of gourmet burgers and fantastic pizzas. Having tried both I can easily reccommend them. Lots of safety social distancing which gives a relaxed feel when you're there. Can't wait to go back.

Friendly staff and amazing food. I was very pleasantly surprised.The tapas was all delicious and with huge pizzas and other staples on the menu such as burgers mean that there’s something for everyone here.There is a large covered outdoor seating area available as well as a garden but due to other customers smoking, we opted to sit inside.On street parking is available in the area.

We had heard that the tapas menu was very good. We have just eaten and we can confirm that it is brilliant. We had the meatballs, spanish ham and cheese, potatoes in a fantastic sauce and goats cheese on toast with a red onion marmalade. Well done guys keep it up.

We stay at Broome House Farm B @ B for a couple of days each spring and this is one of the places we ate at this yearThere is an excellent choice of foods available and a warm and friendly atmosphereThe guy serving us was very friendly and professional and there was just the right amount of attentionWell worth a visit and when we were given the bill we thought they had under charged the value is fantasticWill definitely be on our list of regular places to eat at in this area

This place has amazing food is brilliant really really nice the chef should be really proud of what he has done for this small pub in a small village. Really good choice of drinks from beer to gins .. we ordered enough food to feed 7 people just so we could sample everything and we could not fault a thing thank you for an amazing meal service was brilliant as well thank you very much ... loved every second well done guys xx

Had an all round excellent night, food was fab, great choice of drinks(beers) so the boys were happy.Also a quiz and an couple of Burns night inspired games, customers in Scottish fancy dress, all really good fun. Will definitely be calling again to try the tapas menu, which sounds amazing. Lovely atmosphere, staff were exceptional considering how busy it was, nothing was too much trouble. Call in you'll be impressed.

Had read on social media that this was worth a visit, and we weren’t disappointed. We had pizza with a bowl of chips, great! Tasty and good value. Will be returning to try the tapas.

It's so authentic literally like being back in Andalucia, what a treat. All served in coloured terracotta pots and plates, and reeaaaaalllly filling. The owner is this hilarious Argentine who's always flapping about just adds to the character of the place AND the do posh gins.... winner.

We came for a family meal and ordered Nachos and pizza, WOW they aren't lying when say the big Nachos are big. Funnily the owner is called Nacho too, the kids thought that was hilarious.

Always a lovely pleasant atmosphere, fabulous food and a massive selection of gins to choose from, and guest ales to sample too.

This pub has changed hands in the past few months. The new owners are very welcoming and friendly. We turned up on the Sunday afternoon and had the roast which was very well presented and full of flavour. No room for a pudding we had a few drinks and left.

This was my first visit toThe Royal Fountain Inn where my friend and i received a warm greeting from both the staff and two locals who kindly invited us to join them. The menu was interesting and comprehensive, i had alerted the staff to my vegetarian status when booking and was not disappointed with the choices available. In short, great food, nice atmosphere, clean and friendly. I will certainly go again.

A nice country village in Shropshire . This pub is one of many . We had young children with us so sat outside under cover with lighting & heating. We had tapas with a twist it was great. The staff are friendly service is good we had a good evening.

Exceptional Sunday roast at the Royal Fountain, well put together menu and the standard of the food was high and attentive service with a smile..The only negative if I could find one is no Hobsons yet..

Under new management since April, the new restaurant within the pub called 'coins' is an exciting new development.

after a rocky few months the pub is now in great hands with a new restaurant ..coins..food is fantastic all freshly made and tasted beautiful and i guarantee you will now always find it open evenings and weekends apart from their well deserved rest day on monday. great ale selection for hubby and beer always lovely .

Visited the Royal Fountain for Sunday lunch, in the new restaurant section ‘Coins’. Food was great, service excellent, really good value for money. The pub is under new management and has been for the last couple of months, and they are doing an excellent job. Also sampled the tapas menu, was fantastic.

I have no idea what this new enterprise is like because today I invited friends over from Ludlow to try it out as word was that it was good but we arrived to find curtains drawn door locked no explanation still saying open 11-4 and this was 12.20 what is the point of promoting a new business then not opening??????

We selected this pub out of all the ones on the High Street because it looked traditional and welcoming. The landlady was lovely and friendly, but we looked to be the only punters. Good selection of beer and cider on tap but disappointed there was no kitchen service on a Saturday lunchtime. There were a few readymade rolls and sarnies on the counter but we were after something a bit more substantial so reluctantly moved on. They have a lovely courtyard garden, so we supped excellent ale and cider and drank in the early autumn sunshine. Would definitely frequent again.

We have just been to the Fountain and have had a great meal. The service was brilliant, very attentive and friendly. The food was reasonably priced, tasty with generous portions. We would definitely recommend!

Al parecer, otros críticos han dicho que el horario de apertura es de fiar. Llamamos a la hora del almuerzo el jueves antes de Pascua mientras viajábamos a Tenbury Wells de Bridgnorth y parecía ser el único lugar abierto a lo largo de esta ruta. Los propietarios son bastante nuevas y sufren nuestros comentarios diciendo el lugar nunca está abierto cuando debería ser. El servicio era razonable y la comida estuvo buena.

Fuimos el domingo de Pascua para comer. Estaba bastante concurrido, pero no tuvimos ningún problema para conseguir una mesa. Hay un gran patio y jardín exterior (estaba un poco fría! Dentro) pero es agradable y acogedor.

Hoy fue nuestro intento de forth para comer en este año 1.913, anuncian miercoles Jueves 6 y Viernes 9 comida Sábado comida durante todo el día. Tres veces hemos llegado en sus días comida en 6. 15 puertas cerradas sin luces? Hoy fuimos a las 5. 00 de encontrar cerrado para una fiesta privada de 4 - 6 Cuando miré por la ventana parecía ser de 6 personas. Así que nos fuimos a un diferente hostlerly y tuvimos una gran comida para cuatro a un precio de £82. 00. wouldlike para apoyar este pub si sólo podían confiar en horarios de apertura

Vivió en Cleobury durante muchos años, y aún me queda a un par de Bewdley recomendar el almuerzo de domingo en la fuente.

Qué cálido y acogedor pub para instalarse después de un paseo! También perros. La casera era encantadora y muy amable. He comido aquí dos veces y la comida es muy razonable. La primera vez que tuvimos una comida cesta y estaba muy caliente y bien preparado. La segunda vez tuve un almuerzo Cordero domingo y era una porción muy generosa y sabor excelente. Si estoy en la zona de nuevo poca voy a llamar de vuelta.

We stopped in Cleobury Mortimer for dinner, and had the most fabulous meal here! We both had steaks, which were superb. I asked for coleslaw to replace the chips option with the meal, and the coleslaw too was out of this world. Everything was absolutely perfect from the fantastic quality of the food and the chef's expertise, to the extremely courteousness and friendliness of the waiter. We can definitely recommend!

Food overcooked, dry and tasteless such a shame this used to be the best place in Cleobury Mortimer but now the only good thing is the beer and the bar staff great for a drink but eat elsewhere

Went here with my partner as my auntie and uncle had recommended the place , for a drink as we were down on holiday have to say , straight away the bar woman was warm welcoming , it was a clean pub inside with modern decor , and outside was lovely and clean in the beer garden could have easily stayed in there all day , wheather was brill sun was shining , beer prices were OK price 3.30 -3.50 a pint not bad at all ' see you again when we're In the area .

This pub has been on the market for some time, so in the time I have lived here, it has only been open on an occasional basis. However, new owners have taken it over and are hitting the ground running. It is open full time now. The beer is excellent (HPA, Tribute and 3 Tuns) and the Irish folk night which took place when we visited was great fun. The pub and garden were full and there was a great party atmosphere. There are plans to serve food in the near future. I look forward to it.

When the Royal Fountain Inn, Cleobury Mortimer was taken over by new owners this summer, I was looking forward to some fresh ideas, somewhere good to eat with friends and family and great tasting Beer. Sadly none of this has been achieved, not even close. The previous owners of the Fountain Inn had run a great family Pub with great food, entertainment and excellent local and specialty beers and always with a warm welcome and a smile. When the new owners came along I had hoped they would take on the challenge and continue to ensure the Royall Fountain Inn remained somewhere you looked forward to visiting on Friday night to relax and have a drink or two with a great atmosphere. Now instead the choice of Beer is limited the condition is poor, and not to mention expensive and all served by rude and inexperienced Bar Staff. The new owners have simply not captured the essence of a rural country pub, but instead moved a few tables and chairs around and offered a basic Pub Menu that may or may not be available when you want to eat, the Beer is not kept well, the glasses are dirty and they have no idea on how to treat customers. I am disappointed that The Royal Fountain has definitely missed the mark and misunderstood its potential. I am just glad that we have some other great Pubs in Cleobury to Eat and drink and that is where I will head in the future.

Open fire, nice and warm, comfortable areas. Crash of glass as an older "Local" knocked his drink to the floor. Nobody moved. It did get cleared up after a few minutes. I think the old chap was unwell.

A good all year round place to eat. Family friendly with a great choice on the menu from light lunches to main meal of the day selection. In summer eat outside in the garden and in winter cosy up to the log fire burning in the bar. Helpful friendly staff who accommodate requests - a lovely home from home atmosphere.

Attended a private function - a mexican evening. Starter, mains and dessert served in the lovely beer garden. Plenty of food, really tasty and washed down with a lovely local beer
