Although 4 of us only had a drink here it was very nice sitting in the garden there. I saw some food being brought to diners & it looked delicious, home cooked chips. I would happily return if in the area & maybe have a meal next visit. Service was good, staff polite. Average prices for the area. Lovely little village it was set in, easy parking nearby which must be paid for.

We stayed at The Talbot during an adventure walking part of the Shropshire Way. From the street it looked like a dated old pub but inside we were greeted by wonderful staff who looked after our every need. The room was brilliant in separate building with all the original features of the traditional structure, combined with clean and pretty decor. We ate back down in the pub and the service was amazing, we had walked 20 miles that day and the guys brought everything to our table. The food was hearty, tasty and generous portions, even we couldn’t finish our meals despite how hungry we were. Breakfast was versatile and you could even take away your bacon butty to fuel the road ahead. A gem in the middle of this wonderful little town, would happily return.

We visited Much Wenlock as we were in the area over the weekend. Lovely outside area of the pub where we sat with our dog. We didn’t want a full lunch and so ordered a couple of starters and a side. We were told that we would have a 30 minute wait, food was delivered much sooner. Food was well cooked and tasty. Staff were very friendly. Access to fresh water was available for our dog. This is a personal preference, lots of lovely “real” hanging baskets around the pub, however, for us, artificial hanging baskets outside of the kitchen and by the residential area spoiled the overall look. We will return when we are next in the area.

Staying in Much Wenlock we visited The Talbot for Dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised by the lovely interior and the nice atmosphere. The host was very pleasant and friendly. He came to our table promptly and service was very good. The food, gammon eggs and chips, lasagne and chips, were piping hot, delicious and very well cooked. Our problem is we don't have big appetites and so were disappointed not to be able to finish and even more disappointed not to be able to have one of the delicious desserts which we saw coming to other tables!

Fabulous 13th century pub with great character inside. The food was superb, large portions but great they offer smaller plates for those with not big appetites. However if you love your food this is heaven with a good selection on the menu. The food from the kitchen staff looked amazing on every plate I saw delivered to tables and delivered with genuine friendliness. We were full but really wanted a dessert and so the solution was to do a takeout for us and they accommodated the fact we were staying nearby in our camper van. Superb cherry pie later that evening, thank you kitchen and bar staff 😋.

Spent 2 nights staying on a B&B basis. I'd highly recommend. The rooms are a good size and clean. Bed was comfy, and it was nice a quiet. The bathroom is a little tired, and could do with an upgrade, but we managed perfectly well. The location is in the centre of the village. We would have loved to eat here, but the only evening we were free to do that was Sunday, and the kitchen doesn't open on a Sunday. Once we'd eaten Sunday night we went back to The Talbot, and into the pub for a drink - we were so pleased we had. We sat with the owner and his Sister, and had a brilliant evening. The barman Jason and a 'Monday' customer joined in, and we had a real laugh - it made our night. We wouldn't hesitate to return to The Talbot should we be in the area again.

Having fond memories of visiting this pub previously, we snatched at the chance to return when we were in the area again. There was still the same lovely landlord, working hard, and with the same mischievous sense of humour we remembered. Once again we enjoyed the pub fayre - which is simply good honest home made food, with no fancy airs and graces, just cooked well, served in mighty generous portions, and very tasty indeed. I had the Shropshire Chicken, (stuffed with leeks and served with a delicious blue cheese sauce) which was very moist and tender. Hubby had the homemade chilli which came with nachos as well. Both meals arrived piping hot and were very enjoyable. This is a traditional olde world pub that has all the traditional attributes you would want from such an establishment- great host, good service and very relaxing ambiance. We shall always return when in the area.

When food arrived the portions were generous, hot plates, which you don’t often get now. On the roast dinners the vegetables were serviced on the side. Now I love a Sunday dinner and I was a little reserved in my expectation, I shouldn’t have been it was one of the tastiest roast beef dinners I’ve ever had, the roast parsnips and potato’s were delicious, vegetables not overcooked and an amazing gravy that absolutely made cracked it! Just had an enjoyable dinner with our 3 young children. Friendly service and the food arrived in good time. I had the Pork Belly which was delicious. Various meals were offered as generous children's portions. Unfortunately we were all too full to manage a pudding.

My partner and I stayed for one night and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were greeted with a warm welcome but had to wait a few minutes to be shown to our room as there were customers in the bar that wanted drinks and there was only one member of staff. We are shown to room 7 which is lovely. The room was clean and very comfortable. We had dinner and drinks in the bar. Great menu and the food was delicious. The breakfast room is a great idea, as it’s much nicer than eating breakfast in the bar. Breakfast was fabulous, great choice and service. Looking forward to our next visit.

Went camping in Much Wenlock and it did nothing but rain. So we had to find some where to eat and we found this place. would highly recommend here. We ate here three days on the trot and the food was pipping hot the people that run it are so friendly and helpful will go back again.

We hadn't booked for Sunday lunch but we were lucky that there were just 2 tables available at 12 noon. Good value 2 course traditional Sunday lunch for £11.95 inc a fish and a veggie option. Homemade meringue with raspberry ice cream and raspberries. My husband had the raspberry and apple pie which was very hot. Very well kept Black Sheep ale. Busy pub with bar area and restaurant with locals and tourists alike.

Return visit , once again a faultless meal. I had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth and my partner had the Reuben special which he said was equally delicious. Our new special occasion hot spot.

Wot's cooking is a great place to sit in and get a nice fish and chips. Located in the heart of oswestry. It's located near a post office and even a betting shop, it has plenty around it. The staff are friendly and they are really generous with portions. What's cooking deserves to be on a seaside location really, but it serves well in oswestry. It's cozy in there too, there's been a few times where I've had a meal sitting in there as its been raining outside. So if your in oswestry and fancy some food, get yourself some chips from wot's cooking and enjoy their service!

We have eaten here many times, but our last visit was EXCEPTIONAL. The wonderful people working there treated us like royalty from start to finish. The seats and tables are incredibly clean and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back!!!!!

We had a great lunch here. The atmosphere and service was friendly, welcoming and relaxing. The local beer was outstanding and the food very nicely cooked, delicious and good value. There were plenty of options of where to sit and our dog was also made to feel at home. Shame we were driving or we would happily whiled away the hours here forgetting time and troubles! Hope to return again soon.

A cloudy, cold, damp Monday in Shropshire and happy for it! We wandered around the shops, the charity shops and then it was lunch time and into The Hippodrome we did go. Quiet, not busy, lots of seating to choose from. Ordered drinks at the bar and then selected 3 items from the "3 for..." selection. Chicken Wings are SO good! Chips hot, crispy and delicious. The Pizza? Underdone, mushy crust...wanted hubby to send it back but he just carried on and ate the bits that he could. Not an outstanding meal at a Wetherspoons but it suited our needs for the day. Wetherspoons is in the midst of lots of special deals and you just can't beat the prices.
