We were recommended this cafe and we weren’t disappointed. My husband and I had the ‘Chocks Away’ full English and as the delivery guy hadn’t been yet we had home made hash browns which were fabulous, and the eggs were double yolkers. Our friends had scrambled eggs on toast and had mounds! Highly recommend this place and the view was great.

The breakfast, Not like it used to be.one sausage, over cooked, one piece of beacon, egg, hash brown, tomato not cooked, one mushroom ,spoon full of beans and one toast. Generally I could do better at home. Over priced two breakfast cup of tea and coffee £18.00. I wont be coming again.

I used to visit the cafe regularly prior to COVID. This week was my first time returning and I found it under new management. It was immediately clear that the new staff were attempting to make it something it is not. Prices are far higher than they should be. £9.50 for a breakfast and a coffee. I have no problem paying those prices for a good breakfast at the right premises but this was neither. The breakfast was average at best served on a plastic plate to be eaten with disposable knives and forks (COVID restrictions considered I still think this is a disappointing addition) The cheap coffee served in a disposable cardboard cup was hardly even worthy of the name. I feel that if you plan to charge prices that high you need to provide a far higher standard of food and customer service. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

I visited to see what the new cafe management had to offer for breakfast, and I will be back! A very warm welcome, followed by a fabulous sausage and bacon sandwich on soft fresh tiger bread, and a great cup of tea. Thank you, I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Varied selection of freshly prepared food at Sleap Airfield. Small seating area that is always full at a weekend so a weekday visit is more likely to avail a seat. Steep staircase to it, so not suitable for people with mobility issues unless someone able bodied can order and you can eat on an outside bench seat. The food is delicious but you need to allow plenty of time to get it. Good view of the small active airfield operations.

I visit here on a regular basis as my son is having flying lessons at the attached Shropshire Aero Club , the cafe is based in the old control tower with great views over the runway , it is usually busy especially at weekends when lots of cyclists and bikers use it as a stop off . The food is basic but very good , the breakfasts are wonderfull huge and filling . They have various events throughout the year including Vintage car rallies , aircraft stunt shows and vintage light aircraft rallies . It is a very good place to eat and if you like aircraft its brilliant . Only downside access is up narrow and steep stairs so not great for the less mobile.

Visited as a family and enjoyed a very well cooked all day breakfast. Great value. Smaller version available and a vegetarian option too. Very varied menu served in a clean cafe, good service with great views of the runway watching the light aircraft take off and land. Would recommend and will return.

Recommend that you book a table, deservedly the Locke Lounge gets very busy. We enjoyed a wonderful beef Sunday Dinner, the beef just melt in your mouth, just £7.99 for a delicious meal. Nice watching planes land / take off.....

Sleap Aerodrome is well off the main road but we detoured and went for lunch. The Locke Lounge is in the WW2 control tower block, and as with many of these places its age shows. However, look at it with its history in mind and it takes on a new and interesting ambience. Food and drinks offered are well priced and our lunches were fine with the sole exception that the soup was a little bland. However, taking you tea and coffee (in proper mugs) outside onto the veranda to watch the planes makes this a very worthwhile stop. We stayed for over two hours and we will be back soon. Nearby is the Wartime Aircraft Recovery Group's museum, open at weekends and well worth a visit.

Enjoyed the food here, had a panini, it arrived quickly, nice and hot and came with a dressed side salad. The menu was very good, sandwiches, breakfasts, roast dinner & deserts. Relaxed atmosphere, pleasant watching the planes, good place to take kids

Place could do with a refurb but other than that it has friendly and helpful staff , views are amazing while enjoying a cuppa. I'm sure the food is good too as it was quite busy when we went.

Defensive manager does not value feedback! This place will therefore not improve. We visited the restaurant as believed it to be part of a good quality complex. Our arrival was greeted cheerfully and we were shown to a 2 seater table. That’s where any notion of customer service ended. My partner went up to the counter to order a starter and 2 meals…. Our drinks arrive promptly. …tick tick… 20 minutes go by. People who arrived after us start getting their meals… …tick tick… I go over and ask what’s happening. I’m told “It’s busy“ …tick tick… I ask again. “It’s busy.” More people who have subsequently come in are served. Eventually the manager (who I saw looking at tickets behind the kitchen) came over with our mains. No starter of soup. What followed was incredible! She insisted that the cock up was our fault! Apparently, the lack of soup was because she could not possibly know what was ordered, what should be a starter and how many people were at each table. That excuse would work in a service station, but we are talking about a place that charges handsome price’s commensurate with table service - but with no table service. We will never go back.

My wife & I booked a meal at The Oak Room, Albrighton Hall Hotel near Shrewsbury, as this was where we had our wedding reception - 20 years ago! The hotel looked magnificent as ever & it was great to visit this stunning venue once again. On arrival, we were greeted by Keah & Alex. Both looked after us brilliantly throughout the evening & knew that it was our wedding anniversary. Both Keah & Alex were so helpful, professional, polite & their level of customer was exceptional. Nothing was every too much trouble, whether it was asking details about the food listed on the dinner menu, taking photos for my wife & I of the evening or generally having a nice conversation about our wedding day & how lovely it was to visit again. The food was absolutely delicious & every course was very well presented. When desserts were ordered, a lovely touch from the chef & staff was an oval plate with two chocolate brownie bites upon it & the words 'Happy 20th Anniversary' underneath in chocolate sauce - wow! It truly made our evening. Thank you so very much to Keah, Alex & the chef at The Oak Room. We will certainly not wait another 20 years to visit you again, as I am sure we will be back over the coming months. Once again, thank you so very much.
