Went for a carvery with family excellent service and carvery food very good well worth the 80 mile round trip will definitely be back in the near future. Arrived at 12 without a reservation was seated and all options were explained to us

we stopped by for an excellent value ultimate breakfast - hot, tasty good quality food probably too much for us but still excellent..

This must now be the 4th or 5th Family Christmas Day at the Gingerbread Man and yet again it didn’t disappoint. Everything was served or collected on time ( having a slot at the carvery for your table is brilliant) The food was hot and delicious. One of the party had the Steak and said that was also delicious and cooked exactly to her liking. Special thank you to Mia and Freya who looked after us. I do have to say well done to Kim and her team we will be back again next year

Just visited the gingerbread man after a night shift and just had a lovely cold pint staff were friendly and very happy served by a friendly bar staff.

About every couple of months, visit family in Drayton, on the last 2 visit including today 31/10. We have found the carvery on each occasion quite poor , food Luke warm to cold , beef was tough. All in all quite poor. We often visit our local green king “Evenwood “ in Runcorn, the carvery is always good ,well cooked and hot. So the Gingerbread man is a real let down, on our next visit we will unfortunately look for another Drayton eatery

The pub was very busy and had a lovely atmosphere. Luckily we had booked a table and we each had a carvery which was delicious and great value for money. All of the staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble despite it being very busy and we will definitely book to visit again.

Stayed overnight in our Moterhome. Warm welcome friendly staff helpful. Lovely carvery. Great breakfast .hospitality was fantastic would definitely recommend and we would stay again. Large carpark. It's a 10 from me so thank you all at the gingerbread. Stayed 10th September left 11th after breakfast. Hope to see you again your doing great .

Absolutely Terrible. On arriving we couldn’t find a table - even though very few people in there. It was like a war zone. Food all over the floor and tables either dirty (with food) or covered in empty glasses. We eventually found a table. Went to the bar - asked for three drinks - two of which were wrong when we sat down. Went to the carvery - only one person in front of us. The gammon (meant to be honey roast) looked anaemic. The turkey had pink bits in it. We all opted for beef. Whilst at the servery a lady brought her Yorkshire pudding back saying she couldn’t get her teeth through it. We carried on. I was at the back. The other two got their food and sat down - only to find there was no cutlery in the boxes on any of the tables. The food wasn’t great. No roasts left, parsnips swimming in grease and the mash had a crust on it. When I got to the end there was no gravy. I asked for some. Several minutes later two pots of gravy came out - well not really gravy because it was transparent and looked like greasy dish water. I complained to be told that he’d been told to water down the gravy more. The person behind me also complained. Another five minutes later 2 more pans appeared. No sorry just thrown down. My food had gone cold by this time. I told him that and he said he could carve me another meal. I looked around and my party had nearly eaten there’s. I asked for a refund and was told I needed to go to the bar. I was given a cash refund even though I’d paid on card. No sorry. I then sat down. The beef on one of the others plates couldn’t be cut into it was so tough. She left it. The server asked what was wrong with it. She told them. She went to get the manager (her suggestion). No manager appeared and she never came back. We left. This place is run by people who don’t care. They kept walking past the dirty tables and didn’t bother. In a carvery running out of gravy is a complete no-no. We also saw two families come in not find a clean table and then leave. When it closes the staff will wonder why. If they’re already watering down the gravy..x

Excellent value, the steak was tasty, cooked as specified and fairly tender. Dawn was very helpful and efficient - good staff make so much difference to th dining experience.

When we got there, we had to wait a while at the bar to be shown where our booked table was which was ok, but we were told that someone was already at our table and they pointed to another one we could go on. We sat there waiting for the other half of our party to arrive, so after sending a message to tell them which table we were on so they could find us, we got a reply to say that they were already at a table on the other side of the pub. Funnily enough, it was the table that we were told someone was already sitting at, so it turns out the people who were already sitting there were the other half of our party who were supposed to be there. I thought they would have seen 4 adults and 2 children on the booking, then noticed that 2 adults and one child had turned up first, then when the other 2 adults and child arrived they would have done the maths and realised we were with them. That's what happens in most places, but not this one. The next problem was when they charged me twice for the same order on the app, then wouldn't do anything about it because only one order went through and told me to contact head office or the bank. So now I've got to raise a dispute with Paypal or the bank (or both) to force a refund for one of the orders. The order arrived quickly enough and the lasagne was alright, considering I'd technically bought 2 of them, but one of the drinks was missing. The wife made sure she got her drink so I was waiting for mine, but then she was waiting for the carvery ticket which was also missing so I let her off with that. Someone randomly brought the missing drink over, but still no sign of the carvery ticket so I had to ask again. A few of us had carveries, but they all contained some rock-hard veg and Yorkshire puddings. The Yorkshire puddings in particular were so hard, they could have been used as missiles. I only had to watch everyone trying to stick their forks in to work that out, so I was glad I had a lasagne. We just finished it quickly and left, I didn't fancy paying twice for anything else.

The carvery was excellent, great value for money. My daughter had to send her Mac and cheese burger back as the Mac and cheese was cold....like stone cold. The waitress sort of implied it was our fault wanting it hotter. I am not aware people eat Mac and cheese cold. She stated she will see if she can get it warmed up!. After a few minutes she returned and stated the plate will be cooked fresh again. Well saved or it would have been set back again, you cannot just re heat the cold bits! When it arrived again it was hot and tasty.

Having been a Catering Manager for 35 years I know how food should be presented and cooked. Today,Sunday Carvery, was awful. Sprouts, carrots and cauliflower where bullet hard and couldn't be cut. I know vegetables are meant to hold there shape and be slightly hard and not be soggy but these were barely boiled. The only thing that actually tasted as it should was the Turkey, even the gravy, which looked lovely and thick, tasted of Bisto powder. Everything else was just tasteless for a roast dinner. Can't understand how folks can say it's "beautiful, tasted great" etc. The waitress wasn't bothered when I told her, she just smiled and took the plates of food what we had left away.

Terrible meal. 4 out of 7 meals wrong and had to be sent back. One Alergic to Egg had Gammon and egg sent to her. Half my All day breakfast on the plate, plain burger sent when we just ordered a normal one.

great experience, the food was lovely and very well priced. the drinks were also very cheap. the staff were amazing, and the building was clearly well looked after. will definitely come back! :)

I had the pleasure to be invited by my family to the Gingerbread Man for Fathers Day What a pleasure it was From start to finish Friendly and courteous Staff who greeted us all and sat us down. The Carvery was well prepared and very tasty where the meats were tender and hot. This isn’t the first time we have visited here and I know it won’t be the last Well done

My family and I ate here a couple of Saturday’s ago and had a nice experience. Everyone, I believe enjoyed their meals; I know I certainly did; I had a very tasty burger followed by a very sweet cookie dough which was also delicious.

Friendly, helpful staff. Great value carvery. Hot and freshly prepared, although we did eat shortly after they started serving.

Came for a meal and got treated at the door by karter who was very welcoming and I ordered a cheeseburger at the bar with Anya who was very smiley. It came out quickly and I gave compliments to the chef Kim and Tom delivered this message to her with no hesitation. Would 100% recommend

Recently moved to the area , we have used this pub a few times now . Tonight the carvery was shockingly bad , hard turkey , yorkshire puddings , potatoes , sprouts , and cold carrots , this meal was inedible . We complained about the food , especially the yorkshire pudding , which could have broken a window . They changed them to others which were as bad , the other yorkshire puddings remained on the serving station, and were still there to be dished out to other unsuspecting customer, when we left . Another member of staff cleared our plates and asked if the food was OK, I told her that it wasn't, she offered us a free pudding , which we declined , I would have appreciated a full refund , the food was terrible . It was clear that the food had been out on the servers for far too long . It was the worst meal I've ever eaten out . We will not be returning .

All three of us decided on a carvery, and what a disappointment. £11.99 for a standard carvery ( quite well priced). Here's what we were served. Choice of three different meats, which looked delicious and well cooked. We were are given two VERY thin slices of meat, and when I say thin, I mean thin, I've seen thicker slices of wafer thin sandwich ham. Actually hard to tell what meat you had, as so little of it. Watery frozen vegetables, but sprouts were rock hard, inedible, yorkshire puddings the same. Cauliflower Cheese, again watery, no sauce just grated cheese on the top. If you fancied a small pig in blanket you had to pay an extra £1 !. Everywhere we've been before this isn't an extra, its included. The best thing on the plate was the red cabbage. All in all very disappointing, and I know it's a Sunday, but a warm welcome and a smile would go a long way.

I can't tell you how good this place is for families. Family of 4 fed (with drinks and kids desserts) for £35 and the food was great. The best part of this place though, is certainly the staff. One gentleman gave my children some money to play pool and took the time to talk to them, with my youngest saying he was the "funniest man in the world" The bar staff and waitresses were so lovely and friendly. Honestly, could have stayed here all day. I even managed have a coffee jn peace thanks to the free pool. Highly recommend

Found glasses unclean, service ok but service slow. One member of staff even lied about being out of vanilla ice cream weirdly, we found this out after later being told this another member of staff told us otherwise. Absolutely awful, no meat left for carvery, so had to re choose, then no garlic bread to go the microwave reheated lasagne, no steak knife given for the ordered steak but a saw would of been a better option. Pie dry and grey looking mash. Will never go there again!

Stopped by for lunch. Our first time at The Gingerbread Man. Friendly attentive staff. Fast service. Jumbo crispy chicken and chicken mix. Nice options to pick from. Food was quickly served and hot. Good prices. Server very pleasant. Highly recommend a visit. There is also a nice carvery.

Called in for lunch today, food was superb and good value for money. Moey the lady that served us was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our food. Food was served to table promptly and hot. Environment was clean and tidy and had a good atmosphere with a number of tables taken and all eating. Would highly recommended calling in made to feel very welcome. Nat was extremely accommodating to our needs and provided great costumer service.

The wacky is my autistic sons safe place, we don't go anywhere else due to his troubles. The staff no him and understand and all go out of there way to help him. Gary and Kim thank you for putting arrangements in for SEN children especially my son. Shout out to Jazz, Jess and Dawn for all you do for him x

My experience with this pub was a 5 out of 5… I ordered a steak, I didn’t need to wait too long. It was a perfect medium rare steak and the staff members were lovely!
