The Peacock is an amazing welcoming pub for a good pub meal, a few drinks, or to watch the sport. As both a customer and former employee, I can say Andy, Jane, Nathan and Dan and the rest of the Team are an amazing and dedicated team who really care about their costumers. It feels like family whenever coming here, plus the burgers are great!

The food was lovely, it was a busy night but we didn't have to wait long. I go here mainly for the pub quiz on a Thursday night, work permitting. The staff are all really friendly whether your a regular or not & the landlord, Andy, who does the pub quiz is a right laugh, part quiz show host, pary entainer who gets everyone involved. Highly recommended.

Lovely food Lovely pleasant and helpful staff, who are very attentive and welcoming. I have been coming to this pub for 18 years and never had a bad meal. I would really reccomend it. I feel part of the family.

I cannot fault the bar staff (Monty, Nathan, Dan and others) in how quickly you get served and how attentive and friendly they all are. It makes such a difference. Andy and Jane are super landlords, as they are very accommodating and very much look after their customers. I have been attending the weekly quiz for 18 years, which is a great night out. (I totally recommend on a Thursday). Often we have meals to celebrate our birthdays and Christmas and it is very good. Excellent service and value for money. There is such a community spirit. It's a 10 from me.👍

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for helping me feel so relaxed! I brought my son who is autistic for lunch (first time in public) owners and all staff were very accommodating and supportive! This place has a lovely warm atmosphere and I felt like part of a family! We were very happy and will definitely be coming again soon!! Thanks again guys

Nice friendly staff great atmosphere well worth a visit

Amazing food and stuff. This is our go too place for food. Monty behind the bar is good at what he does. He always had a good conversation with my daughter when we come. Food is good, good portions too, nothing is abother to any staff member. The beef lasagne is stunning and I've tried a few in differnt places and this one beats them all

Called in here for a burger. What a disappointment. Not as good as last time we came in 2023. Burger was dry and unappetising. Plates are enamel pie dishes. Don't think we will come again.

We go out to eat a lot and this is one of the best in shrewsbury, I had steak amd my partner had fish and chips, meals were large and meaty pieces of both, definitely recommended

An excellent menu with plenty of choice. The food came very quickly after ordering, piping hot and on hot plates. As I have a milk allergy it was nice to see I had a choice of 2 desserts I chose the apple crumble with ice cream. Very tasty . Highly recommended

We called for a quick drink that led to two

Went here for a funeral wake and my mum had to take her little dog so it wasn't left on his own for any longer than he needed to be. Sadly we were told that we couldn't stay in the bar but had to go up to the wooden floor area because of the dog. This meant that not only were we separated from the wake but also made to sit with people eating lunch as it seems that this was the eating area as well as the dog area 🤷 made no sense at all. Basically we had to drink our drinks as quickly as we could and leave. We obviously should have checked first but what pub doesn't allow dogs in the bar?

We came here for a last minute dinner, great menu, prompt service and the food was great! Proper pub food, quick service and with a smile, good prices too

The food is extremely well priced. Our party of 6 adults and 2 children ate their entire meals. I have to compliment the serving staff here - the kind of service you get is exceptional, better than some high-priced restaurants/hotels. Thank you for taking such good care of us AGAIN!

Jane and the staff were very welcoming and helpful during the wake that we held there. The food that was prepared for us was excellent and there was more than enough for everyone.

The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food is reasonable priced and always delicious. I have visited fpr lunch a few times with my friend, we normally have a jacket potato or baguette, we have never had a bad meal and have always been happy with the service. I would definately recommend.

We had a pleasant experience today, we were welcomed with a roaring real fire. And a chilled atmosphere with great music. The bar tender was pleasant and friendly. We ordered 2 sirloin steaks....1 medium to well done and the other medium rare. However, the medium to well done steak came well done and the medium rare steak came blu certainly mistake I'm sure. I feel that perhaps the kitchen could do with some training in the matter of how to cook steaks to people's liking. We didn't say anything to the staff as we were very hungry and ate our meals anyway. We also felt that the kitchen wouldn't had been too rushed as the bar wasn't really very busy at all...and we have found that in other pubs that steaks aren't always cooked to your liking so we have come to expect this type of mistake. We weren't asked if our meals were alright at any point.

Good food and great for watching football

Had my father's wake there the staff are brilliant the buffet was excellent and it's only 3 minutes from the cemetery.

Sadly, we have had several funerals to attend and they have been absolutely amazing with holding a gathering for each. Thank you for making these tough times easier.

Arranged a wake at the Peacock, and what a great choice. First class team organised everything so the event went really well. Fantastic buffet and great choice of beers. I will definitely be visiting again. Well done The Peacock!!!

For the first time of family meals out, all 8 of us, enjoyed our food!

We went nearer the end of the night and the 2 lads serving were champions. All 5 of us were fed and and puddings served to the little ones and drinks. Nothing was too much to ask and the food was 5* , even my picky 8 Yr old daughter ate all of it. Top notch grub and the lads on the night were stars.

Ate here with my friend, the food was yummy and very good value for money! We had the bacon burgers. Decor could do with being updated. Also, you have to go to the bar to place your orders.

I am not allowed to give less than one star sadly I was embarrassed by a staff member and can't rate the food as I didn't eat anything in the end my fiancé's food was appalling and inedible our children's meals the steaks were tough the peas and mushrooms inedible as must have been evidenced by the quantity of food left on the plates and if they check their cctv they could see the children physically spitting the steak out as it was like leatĥer and beer wasnt if the best quality either what a waste of 60 pounds despite having 2 x 12 yr olds I was refused a child's meal

Great place to stop for a drink and a meal. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere in a cozy setting. Popped in on a Sunday afternoon and had no issues ordering food. Menu had a good selection of pub classics. Lovely beer garden at the back to enjoy a quiet beer on a sunny day.

First time visit to this place and i really liked it. Staff were very friendly and the food was really nice. Decor may not be everyones taste but it was perfect for us.

Appeared to be busy for a lunchtime Wednesday. Ordered the small fish and chips, then a dessert, jam sponge and custard and ice-cream sundae. Special offer £22 for two. The Hobgoblin beer was excellent.

We came to the peacock Inn for food on Saturday as we had come from Birmingham to spend our anniversary in Shrewsbury, we had excellent service , excellent food, the staff was polite and we really enjoyed it

We've been to this pub so many times in the past, but since leaving the area, this was our first visit for about 3 years. Pleased to say all is still great! It's a typical Marston's pub so if you're expecting cordon bleu this isn't the place for you, but if like us, you're in town and looking for a pit stop for lunch and don't want anything fancy, it's perfect! They have a great range of drinks, the real ale is well kept, the place is clean and tidy, there's a good choice on the menu and the service was great too. Big thanks to Nathan who epitomised service with a smile! We were lucky enough to be able to sit in the beer garden, which although suffered a little with road noise (it's in the centre of a town, it's to be expected!) is a lovely sunny spot and the sun actually graced us with its presence! Really can't fault it, five stars from me!

Pleasant suburban pub. A good bet for well kept Marston's 61 deep. The brewery's best beer in my opinion.

Lovely traditional pub with special offers on meals I. The week like Thursday steak and drink £11.50 p And many more offers too I highly recommend the peacock as live football in the pub and happy atmosphere enjoyed by many locals x thankyou to the team at peacock pub I will be returning very soon 5 star for excellent customer service

Popped in on the off chance today, wish we drove on past. I’m not sure if they have a proper chef as there was a vacancy advertised on the bar but this wasn’t a good experience. Not good food at all. We never complained we just walked out. I wouldn’t even take free vouchers Lesson learnt !!
