Popped in on a random Tuesday lunchtime the place was empty but that didn't put us off the service was very good, food excellent selection of drinks was spot on and the main reason we went is how dog friendly they are so we could take our little pooch with us. Would definitely visit again

I popped in after a heavy night and feeling sorry for myself 🫣 let’s just say this carvery done the job ! Great options, Great staff and Great FOOD ! I was given the option off chicken, Pork or beef or all 3 if wanted ! I opted for the beef which was beautifully cooked along side my veg and potatoes, I was then given the option of dessert too ! all of this for £20 you can’t complain ! All in all a great place to pop by and eat/drink :) BIG SHOUT OUT to chef Jamie And front of house Erin who made the experience! Keep it up guys !

Always loved the Coach, called in for dinner one evening, very nice though a fairly small portion, someone on the next table said the same thing, friendly staff, Went into the bar for a couple more drinks but they had a tv blaring some total rubbish music out so we went in the little snug where there were 4 or five people in there for the same reason. I though when this pub reopened the tv was for sport only?

Lovely pub, good beer selection, small food menu, but done well and for a good price (all mains were £12 last time we went and the portion sizes aren't small). There's a snug bar area to the right as you walk in and the more foody area straight ahead. There's a beer garden on the roof as well for summer. Sunday lunch was great last time we went as well.

Tried The Coach and Horses for Sunday Lunch. AWFUL!!!! No Menu, or Prices up for Dinner. Options on Sunday were Roast Beef or Roast Pork and when questioned for any other options we were offered a Nut Roast. We had Roast Beef and one Nut Roast. Beef was reheated and sinewy, the Nut Roast was tasteless and out a packet. All vegetable and meat were heated up in a frying pan to warm then served. We thought oh well different, but not enough vegetables were brought up to feed two let alone 4. We asked for extra which in fairness they did bring. Service was not great just ok. The bill was the biggest shock £20 a head!!! Disapointed as under new management and look to support locally

Please learn how to pour a pint of Guinness! Have been in twice now since it's reopened and on each occasion my Guinness has been poured in full without settling for a while before topping up. It's not difficult! Also no heating on, it was actually cold sat there, others were saying the same, and music TV on is probably not the atmosphere needed for a traditional pub. Such a shame this place doesn't have the warm, homely atmosphere it used to have.

We’re do we start! £20 for a so called carvery! I always assumed a carvery is where you choose your meat and then help yourself to potatoes, vegetables stuffing etc! Apparently not, the very slow awkward service by the waitresses ( where we waited so long I actually got fed up and went to the bar!) they take your order for dinner. After my wife and daughter got cold waiting for dinner, as it was freezing in there, us being not only the ones cold, as the large table next to us, they kept their scalves on! When the food did arrive, the pork was warm, small portioned, as like the vegetable selection was. (No crackling either!) and we had to as for some pepper. As we and other tables only had salt! No condiments weee offered, we had to ask for them. We use the Inn On the Green in Radbrook for our local Sunday lunches, £10, loads of fresh hot vegetables and meat. As to say, we will not be going back there anytime soon, and as for the asking price£20, will not be encouraging anyone else who wants a great family Sunday lunch.

Received a friendly welcome following a recommendation for Sunday lunch. We sat in the bar area waiting for a table to be free, happy with the surroundings. However, lunch was served… we had three different meats between us - not one was edible. Pork was 90% fat, beef was too tuff to cut & the chunks of lamb consisted of fatty sinew. One potato per plate & cold undercooked vegetables on the side. We persevered with eating our lunch as other tables around us complained. When we tried to tell the head chef/manager we weren’t happy with the quality of food, he was happy to argue the food was good quality & we were only complaining as others around us had earlier. Not the most professional customer service! A meal was deducted from our bill As good will gesture. Such a shame really. We won’t return again due to the management’s attitude.

On a day trip to Shrewsbury called into this bar and restaurant for lunch. Have to agree with the previous review it was a great pub, lots of character, friendly staff, and a great young chef named Jamie. Had gammon, egg, chips and peas plus a drink and the meal was delicious with real gammon and not the flat pack one can get in restaurants. The young chef and the barmaid were very friendly and all in at £40 for the two of us great value for money.

We waited 40 mins for our food which was cold when it arrived. When I asked for cutlery and politely mentioned that the food was cold the waitress became aggressive and accused me of being rude, which was absolutely not true. When the food was returned hot I commented that I had not been rude, but merely pointed out that the food was cold she stormed off mid conversation. No apology. There was no one at the bar for 10 minutes when I wanted the bill and it needed to be corrected as a discount had not been applied. I would strongly suggest that this pub be avoided at all costs.

Had not visited this pub in years, but after reports of refurbishment was curious to visit. It is still quite dark in the interior but your eyes do become accustomed to that after 15 minutes or so. Found the choices on the menu uninspiring - chose the vegetable moussaka & friend had a cheese & mushroom omelette. Whilst chatting we suddenly heard someone loudly shout 'Service' & thought it was someone at the bar, trying to gain the barmaid's attention. It turned out to be the chef who would shout every time a meal was put on the counter. Needless to say we suggested that another less intrusive form of communication be used e.g a bell as it was quite disconcerting. Our meals arrived & did not look very appetising after a couple of mouthfuls I could not eat anymore. Watery vegetables some cooked Al dente others soft lay on a plate topped with a thin layer of cheese. The flavour was bland with an aftertaste of garlic. Although the dish was hot the food was lukewarm. The omelette had a burnt top but it was edible. After this disappointment the background music was suddenly turned up so much so we could not carry on with our conversation. On visiting the disabled toilet the door would not lock. Kelly the waitress did give us discount when we asked for the bill. However I was starving so after we left I went to Weatherspoons to get something to eat!

I really wanted to love this place as I'm a fan of La Mer Rouge but can honestly say it was only ok! We went for a family Sunday lunch, service for the food was slow, bearing in mind we only had the one course - Sunday Roast. The food wasn't particularly hot and I was surprised by the veg - carrots, broccoli, cauliflower cheese and red cabbage - just not very inspiring and the gravy was very thin. We had to ask for apple sauce, mint sauce & horseradish which were the smallest pots ever to go round the party. We requested extra gravy and got given 1 jug, there were 11 of us! It took asking 3x asking for water for the table and then it arrived with no ice, which we had asked for but by this time we gave up. Would we go back? In all honesty probably not given the price, quality of food and service.

As a dog owner I applaud places that allow well behaved dogs. However during our visit a customer standing at the bar and thereby limiting the available space had a very large dog which constantly growled barked and attempted to bite bar staff and other customers. The dog owner was drinking vodka and appeared to think it was a huge joke. Sadly the bar staff did nothing to address the issue. It was totally unacceptable. The dog was large and intimidating and should not have been in such a confined bar space. As the owners are new I would have expected them to be trying to attract customers rather than drive them away.

Remained a great pub under difficult circumstances. The beer range was still good, supporting local breweries atbvery reasonable prices for a town centre pub. The food in the restaurant was top notch, great menus, well sourced food and cooked well. But the staff? Well, they really made the place somewhere to go to. Reason for only 4 stars? I suppose there is always room for improvement, or so I've been told. But now temporarily closed and all the staff have lost their jobs. Hope the new owners understand what this pub gave the community and do not change it much.

One hour later our starters arrived, then 30 minutes later we were advised that they had run out of ham so one of our party had to order something different, then 3 of the main courses arrived and we had to wait another 20 minutes for the final main by which time 3 of us had finished our meals. Very little in the way of an apology, one free drink to make up for the missing ham. The food was average but the level of service was appalling, I would not recommend this pub to anyone as it was a total letdown.
