Rarely disappointed with Warners Holme Lacey .Apart from the occasional glitches as on this occasion the blue lift broke down and repairs were still ongoing when we left 48 hrs later. Considerable inconvenience to those disabled wheelchair users, but didnt affect us too much. I would however make a comment about the market kitchen restaurants food presentation. Most of the evening meals were tasty and served hot, unfortunately something not to be said of the fried breakfasts. Eggs and bacon etc cooked earlier and standing albeit on hot plates were far from an acceptable temperature by the the time one has sat down to eat it. Perhaps ordering something from the kitchen and fresh cooked is the answer in future visits. All said and done, not enough criticism to stop us visiting Holme Lacey which has long been one of our favourite venues.

Had the burger. Nice chunky chips. The patty had an odd texture and not much flavour, supermarket Aberdeen Angus burgers have more flavour and juicier. Uninspiring Lettuce leaf and heap of onion relish was disappointing. I liked the decor and Butty Bach is a decent pint. Also really good service. Could be better, needs better ingredients and a little panache.

When booking we thought we would have a lovely meal and high quality cocktails.. well what a disappointment. We were told at the start that they needed the table back before 8pm which was fine as we arrived around 6/6:30 which is plenty of time for cocktails and some food however, it took about 20 minutes to get our first round of cocktails which came one by one and by the time our food order was taken it was 7 o’clock. It then took 30 minutes to bring another round of drinks and our starters which were nice. At 7:45 we had empty starter plates on the table and knowing that we needed to be out before 8 it was going to be a push. We asked for another round of drinks and was told ‘no’ because the table was needed! This was BEFORE our mains had even arrived! Eventually the mains and next drinks arrived and the food was okay. The steaks were cooked well but had chewy bits through them which isn’t the chefs fault, the chip bowls contained about 6 fries in each in which we returned and received some more. Lastly, we finally had ordered 2 last drinks and one was a margarita.. well it contained no tequila.. which is a main part (especially when the recipient is a bartender himself 😂). We will not be returning

Been to the Riverside a few times but I actually think it’s gone up a notch.Food is excellent and so nice to see proper home made puddings on the menu.Everything is locally sourced and some nice English wine to try. The staff are very good and George is always very welcoming. In summer even if you are not eating,to have a drink overlooking the river Lugg is fabulous!

Wow! Such a beautiful pub in an idyllic setting. My husband and I had the delicious Pate to start followed by roast beef which was second to none. I cannot recommend it highly enough. We enjoy our Sunday roasts and this is hands down the winner in our opinion. Well done and thank you to all the staff 👏

Had our last breakfast here on the last day before they closed for good. Food amazing as usual. Very sad day. This restaurant has been a landmark for 50 years & yet no one still knows what the future holds for this building. There is nothing like it round here & nowhere for Premier Inn guest to eat. So short sighted of Whitbread to close such a busy iconic business. The staff are devastated. BIG MISTAKE WHITBREAD!! THIS WAS NOT AN UNDER PERFORMING SITE!! Gutted

Came for a Sunday evening dinner and was tempted by the Steak Americano. When it arrived I realised it was quite tough indeed. I mentioned this to our server, Reece, who VERY kindly and VERY quickly took it back and replaced the whole meal with another one. This one was perfect. He exceeded my expectations though with a reduction in the bill and an offer of a free desert. Can’t thank Reece enough. He’s a scholar and a gent.

We had a one night stay, but arrived early and had lunch before climbing the Herefordshire Beacon , via British Camp. The hotel is directly opposite the start of the walk, which means the location is perfect. We found the public areas of the hotel immaculately presented and very tastefully decorated. Staff were welcoming and clearly take a pride in there work. Our room was fine, with more dated decor than the restaurant and bar area, but it was comfortable and well furnished, although we found the bathroom lighting too bright for our taste. The menus for all meals were excellent, and food was well prepared, tasty and plentiful. Service was timely and the table staff all personable and efficient. We liked our stay and are happy to recommend and return if visiting the area in the future.
