The best restaurants in Herefordshire, County of West Midlands

The Lion is going from strength to strength. This was our fourth visit for supper and we were impressed. Ate in the bar this time which was friendly. Brilliant burgers and steak sandwiches, carefully presented. Funny little pot of slaw was a bit of an irrelevance and plates would be better than silly wooden boards. Puddings were wonderful, especially the sticky toffee and the fondant.

We visited the pub twice with our dog. As we had our dog we were in the top bar. The top bar is a lovely bar with an open fire and a few tables. We had Sunday lunch. We both had loin of pork and all the trimmings. Food was excellent and service was very good. Would certainly recommend

The Sunday buffet lunch was very disappointing. Two of our party are vegetarian and the tofu option was constantly empty. Also no sign of the mushroom soup at any point. Also lack of fresh fruit in the dessert area. The restaurant was very busy indeed and the servers slow to clear plates. It was unclear where we could return them ourselves so I approached one server with a stack of plates asking where to put them and she looked straight through me! Obviously stressed, poor thing.

Lovely place for a getaway. Look carefully at booking information and make sure it's what you want. If it is then highly recommend.

Nice choice of food available at lunchtime. Although we only visited for a coffee/tea and cake. They had oat milk available and a lovely vegan date flapjack, portion size was good.

WOW 👌, what a find. So pleased we booked a table at this Mediterranean style restaurant. We were met with smiles from all the staff which is always a great start to an evening. There was a great drinks menu which was reasonably priced and the food was absolutely delicious. Our starters were lovely and our main courses were faultless. I ordered the seabass with citrus sauce which came with purple potatoes and a delicious salad with fennel and pomegranate seeds. My husband ordered the pork and chicken kebabs with fries, flatbread, tzatziki and hummus. This was huge and very tasty. Many thanks for a delicious experience-we will be back!

Food was sensational. The best Thai food I have ever had, I've never tasted anything like it! My first time here and certainly won't be the last. Hosts were incredibly friendly and flexible. I've now cancelled our previous valentines day booking to come here instead. Thank you!

Had another lovely evening and dinner experience, particularly the authentic French bouillabaisse special, which was the best ever. You’re always guaranteed a warm, inviting and friendly welcome by all of the staff. If you’re after a great atmosphere and food at good value, in an authentic pub environment, then you won’t go wrong by paying a visit. Look forward to visiting again very soon!!

We chose The Oak as the venue for our mum’s wake, and we couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Abbi was incredibly kind and accommodating while helping us plan, ensuring that every detail was taken care of. Nothing was too much trouble, and the team went above and beyond to meet our requests. Many of our guests commented on how lovely the food was and how warm and welcoming the function room felt upon arrival. A heartfelt thank you to both Abbi and Layne for their kindness and for helping us give our mum such a beautiful send-off.

We booked this restaurant for a birthday get-together. Our family travelling from the Midlands and Wales to enjoy the food and ambience of this lovely place. A mixture of a cosy restaurant with stone floors and roaring fires, plus a space that easily held our group of 16. The staff were fantastic, and so helpful, from the time we booked to the day itself. The food itself was delicious. This is not your run of the mill pub food. It's well crafted dishes, using local produce with fantastic flavours. The type of menu you have to study and ponder over as there are so many delicious dishes you really don't know what to choose. I can't wait to return and would recommend you book yourself a table. Thank you to all the staff at the Loughpool Inn for making my sisters birthday so special, it really was much appreciated x

DO NOT TIP!!! Food was OK, when going to pay asked the young waitress if she sees the tips and she replied she has never had any tips , owners must be keeping them and as someone who worked in the trade this is disgusting , greedy owners should be ashamed will not go back , how tight can a owner be

Orleton is a very pretty village and we decided to have lunch at The Boot. When we arrived they were really busy but we still had a warm and friendly welcome and were shown to a table. It's a very quaint and cosy pub and the lunch was lovely. Super-friendly staff are a credit to the pub. We'll return when it gets warmer to sit in the pretty gardens. Highly recommended!

Excellent food and service as always. 2 courses this evening with drinks, next to a warm fire and with friendly staff. Really recommend the naan, we had keema and garlic and both were some of the best we've had.

An excellent traditional pub with very friendly staff and locals. We (two couples) visited on Saturday night the 15th Feb. It’s quite snug in the main bar and the lounge although having several tables were all reserved for diners who’d pre booked. We had standing room only in the main bar but a very friendly young local couple (Ryan & April) offered our wives the two spare chairs at their table and to join them. We can’t praise the local people enough for all of their warm hospitality which was abundant throughout the town. We managed to get another couple of chairs to take the weight off from another table who thankfully didn’t need them. The local beer went down a treat and we spent several happy hours in there Local knowledge is always a great thing to have - Our new found friends told us the best eateries for Sunday lunch in the town which was what we wanted before heading home the next day. They said that the best Sunday lunch by far was the pub we were in - The Man of Ross They said booking was an absolute must as many are turned away on the day. We booked for midday on the very next day We’re happy to report that the meal was up there as one of the most memorable we’ve had away It’s proper home cooked fare with quality and value in abundance. A choice of locally sourced beef,pork or turkey and plentiful sides which were delicious. Again I can’t thank the staff enough as the meal topped off our weekend away

Restaurant is on the outside of an industrial estate, out of the city centre, however the quality and taste of the food is lovely. Price of food is also reasonable. Plenty of customers, which is a good sign. Owner Ali, is an excellent chef and went round to each table to ensure everyone was happy. Only downside is the location, which is why I have given 4 stars.
