We were staying at The Bridgefarm House, easy walk to the pub. Lovely setting. Nice outside area. Inside area nice too. Didn’t eat, a few people were eating. Did have the tempura prawns for a quick snack, good but expensive at £8 for only 3. The menu looked ok, usual pub fare. We had drink and game of pool. Has a campsite next to it, for camper vans/mohotorhomes and tents.

Sadly this pub has been neglected. I booked a table for 7.30pm and we were rushed into ordering food as soon as we arrived. It was dirty and smelt bad. There was only one other couple eating… there was no roaring fire like usual and my wine glass was filthy. Plastic flowers on the table and an unlit dusty tea light. The menu was a photo of the chalk board, the food was basic, (the special was chile con carne) poorly presented and took ages. No wine list and no bar snacks so we were starving. This is clearly a pub for the locals to drink in and they are not welcoming to outsiders. We had been here many times over the years and always had incredible food and service, but the new management have really let it go.

The new owners are way out of their depth here. Alarm bells rang immediately when on Father’s Day the car park was empty. It was hard to tell at first if the pub was actually open. The landlord and lady were friendly and smiley but were sat outside smoking (not prepping and getting ready for a busy Sunday lunch?) and when they flicked their cigarettes in the beautiful stream we were horrified. There were dirty ashtrays on the outside tables, everything looked very tired and the garden was just weeds. I’m sure they mean well but this is not their forte. This beautiful pub needs rescuing. In 40 years of catering and hospitality I have never been anywhere this grim. Get professional help with it or move on please.

Not sure why this place gets any bad reviews?? (Must be crazy) coz it was amazing. We went for food and drinks , we loved it that much that we went back the next day . Food and drinks were lovely sitting by the river and the staff and the locals made us feel so welcome . Can’t wait to go back . Anyone reading this please take no notice of bad reviews. My partner and I booked to go camping at this lovely little pub in February. Needless to say, the weather was awful but thankfully the hospitality of the landlady was warm and welcoming. Having seen us struggling in the rain, trying to cook dinner, she offered for us to stay in a yurt for free. This was available for 2 nights and she very kindly offered for us to stay there for both nights. The yurt was lovely, with gorgeous decorations and a heated blanket! The atmosphere in the pub was fantastic and the food was delicious. We would highly recommend this pub and will be back (maybe in summer next time!).

This was once one our favourite pubs to eat, sadly no longer. The staff were very friendly but not really on the ball. We had Sunday lunch which was nothing like it use to be. We waited to be shown the dessert menu which did not materialise. We decided to just have coffee, but after no one came to take an order my husband went to the bar. He was eventually asked if he was waiting to order so he answered yes, could we have coffee. The chap then simply walked away. My husband called out after a minute or two and managed to place the order, then we waited. And waited. Giving up, we went to the bar to pay and queried the lack of coffee, and were told that the coffee machine was broken. Wish someone had thought to mention it earlier. Won't be in a hurry to return.

Barely want to give it 1 star to be honest... we were staying in Hereford for one night and were recommended this pub as a short distance away from where we were staying. We were told it would be a half an hour wait so we sat and had a drink, 45 mins passed and we were told just a little longer baring in mind there was hardly anyone there apart from 2 tables that had already been served.. we continued to wait and once we then asked after an hour almost an hour and half wait without our order being taken at this point we were told perhaps another 10-15 mins. We left at 6pm to try and beat the rush as we hadn't booked ( last minute trip) but being told they had space we were enclined to give them a go, first and last time we will be going there, we left at 7.45pm unserved and had to rush to find somewhere to eat close by which is difficult around that area so short notice. Big disappointment but judging by other reviews this is normal?

Over- microwaved food with soggy chips and veg in a chilly space, and no beer on tap to ease the pain. It’s a shame, as remote pubs need support from the local community, but local people earn their money with hard work and should expect better than this.

Such a shame. My son booked to take his grandmother & I out for Mothers Day. We’ve been going to The Bridge for years & it’s always been fabulous. Not so now. Lunch was plated up (like school dinners), we had to ask for meat appropriate condiments (there was no apple sauce for the pork) we sat for ages after our plates were cleared but as we weren’t offered dessert, we paid & left. It was cold in the dining room, the bar fire wasn’t lit & there was a massive & very ugly speaker in the corner. Hardly the welcoming Bridge we all knew & loved! The pub was half empty and bearing in mind it was Mother’s Day, this spoke volumes. Very, very sadly, we won’t be returning.

Not the gastro pub it used to be. Very disappointed! No fires lit at 12.45 on New Year’s Eve so extremely cold in the pub (5 degrees outside!) Food - just ok! not the exciting menu of previous owners. If you want wine well you have one or two to choose from but not much choice at all. Popped in with family as a break on our trip to Hay on Wye. Never knew this beautiful little place existed. It was a beautiful, crisp, fresh Sunday lunchtime. We only really popped in for a quick drink and to stretch our legs as we had travelled from Bristol. The owners were lovely, very welcoming indeed. There was a great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant with other families enjoying a chat, drink and food. The fires were roaring and it was so very welcoming. We decided to stay and have Sunday Lunch as we were not far from Hay on Wye and had plenty of time. It was so great to have a proper Sunday lunch, nothing fancy, just like what Grandma would have made. Everything tasted fresh and the meat was amazing. Personally, I was looking forward to a dessert, but after lunch I was far too full. We do not visit this part of the country very often, but we are looking forward to making a special trip in late Spring early Summer to enjoy another great experience at the Bridge. Many thanks to all of the staff.

The Bridge Inn is set in a beautiful location. The pub hasn’t long been taken over by new people. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. We have been as a family of 3 and a family of 5, with very picky eaters. Weekday evening menu is affordable and even though a small choice of options (I hear this is expanding,) everyone was happy with the options available. They were even accommodating when we asked for slight changes to some of our options. Food was proper home cooked pub grub, presented beautifully, plenty of food on the plates and all plates were cleared. Sunday Lunch menu had Pork, beef and lamb with all the trimmings. There was more than enough for everyone, the meats were melt in the mouth and everything was very tasty. We will all definitely be returning. Thank you to the Chef and kitchen staff for putting up with us fussy eaters!

This was a lovely meal in a beautiful setting next to the river. The food was generally good (especially the crab spaghetti) and the olives were divine, however they were not as vigilant with the allergies some of our party had. Unfortunately I had to...

Beautiful pub and lovely setting. The crab pasta is one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever eaten - really tasty and original. Friendly staff.

People probably go for the 16th century inn or the lovely riverside views, but we were stuck in a soulless marque by ourselves, later joined by a couple of others. It was a celebration Sunday lunch for us but there was no starter and a...

A warm welcome in a lovely spot by the river made for an enjoyable evening. Along with excellent food, we’d be certain to return when in the area. The food is very much more than ‘pub food’ although competitively priced. It was hard to choose...

Thank you mikey and jade for take aways in these hard times. Meaty pizzas are lovely, hubby says bigger portion on fish.... greedy. Roasts dinners take away today were great. Thank you very much. Keep it up as we all love the bridge 👍

We had a great meal here. The food is definitely delicious and a cut above normal pub food. The couple who have taken over running the pub clearly really care and are aiming to set the standards high. There's plenty of homemade stuff on the menu and as well as the usual dishes like a burger and fish and chips, there are some more original things on offer like venison lasagne, salt baked celeriac and mushroom gnocchi and lamb ragu. The dessert was also home made (Winter fruit bread and butter pudding) and was excellent.

We went on a very quiet Wednesday but the food we had was absolutely delicious with plenty of options for the four of us. Desserts were equally good. The landlady was lovely, very friendly and helpful. The beer was excellent as well.

Booked a table for my birthday, having previously visited before it had been leased. It's a lovely little old pub, with lots of character. We were greeted with lots of enthusiasm and warmth. This continued all night despite the pub being really busy and dealing with the complications of COVID the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The menu although a little limited due to Covid did definitely not disappoint. The food was really really good. Seriously tasty, nicely presented and brilliant value for money. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or book a return visit!!!

Nothing majorly wrong or spectacular at this country pub, just everything was average. Having used this as “the local” whilst holidaying here 3 years ago, it looks like they’re now more focused on camping than improving the pub.

Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The menu was varied but not too much choice. We opted for jacket potato and a flat bread. Fresh and well presented.

Pleasant surroundings outside, unfortunately the food was not too a very high standard. Ham and piccalilli sandwich, ham tasteless (wafer thin and breaded, supermarket family pack springs to mind). Should have been advertised as a Piccalilli sandwich, Coffee was fine.

I absolutely love being in this place and it has a beautifully calm feel. However I am totally astonished by the dolls-house size servings for lunch- at normal lunch prices. I almost asked them if they hadn’t accidentally given me a kiddie’s portion - for a cheaper price- as for over £9 I got two slices of delicious small rye toast, about 7 very small lettuce leaves, 4 olives and a small pot of delicious dip. All very tasty but absolutely not a main course. I know I these are locally sourced ingredients but this felt really wrong. I will definitely return for post lunch coffees but will make sure to eat somewhere else where I can fuel up for lunch before hand.
