Favourite place to do some work and take clients for their great food. Great hidden gem.

We brought my mother out for Sunday lunch for her birthday and had the best meal we have had out in a long time. Staff were lovely and attentive when needed, food was just perfect and the atmosphere was spot on. Our drinks order came promptly just after seating and then the food came about 10-15 min after ordering. Food was cooked perfectly annd everything was flavourful annd sooo tasty. Only slight issue we had was my wife’s belly pork portion was tiny compared to the others on our table, but after talking to the waitress she brought a new portion without any hesitation or making us feel like we were being problematic. Pricing spot on for the quality. Can’t ask for any more in a restaurant. Will be coming back soon.

Egg Benedict’s with smoked salmon 23/5/25 Both Eggs overcooked and temperature too cold. Assuming chef preps eggs then reheats for service. Was not a great example of a classic brunch dish from a visually promising venue. Other people on table food looked very good to add a creditable review.

My husband's lamb was very salty and the prices on the menu were different to what we were charged my Coca-Cola was supposed to be £3.50 but instead it was £3.90. the roaster and the veg was saved in separate bowls, and not on the plate. it's okay if you got family that will share, but if you're out with me someone is more greedy then you end up with less roasters. and charging £4 for extra roasters when the meal is £19 is a bit much, then when you come to pay there is a second screen when you use card to give a tip, instead of the cashier giving you time to decide they are there at the till. And they can see the same screen you can and it is very off-putting when they are staring at you, which made is very uneased.

Great little place. Good portions are massive (so beware). Overall atmosphere is 11/10.

My husband and I had a delicious meal at the bookshop. We both had rump steak and shared sides. The steaks were cooked perfectly (medium rare) and the sides perfectly accompanied, the hispi cabbage was especially yum!

Beautifully decorated restaurant, the food was amazing, way better than I would have expected for the price. We had the veggie lasagna, steak, spelt salad and chowder, all of them spectacular. The coconut and lavender lemonade was also delicious, and I don't normally order lemonade! We had the pavlova for dessert and it didn't disappoint either. Lovely service too, very recommended place!

I think this was quite simply the best breakfast we’ve had and we eat out a lot! Dani was exceptionally helpful with her advice being spot on regarding choice. My partner is not easy to please but he was very happy here. You must have the French toast, it’s amazing

Had the Bookshop Eggs with extra bacon for breakfast recently,it was nice not great(couldn’t taste the nduja much which was a shame because that’s the reason I chose it) Nice coffee though and service was good. Will try again.

First time visiting here in person after having sone of the cook at home dishes during lockdown a while back, and it did not disappoint. Food was great, with the Sunday lunch living up to expectations in terms of quality, size of the portions and value for money - even got some pigs in blankets as a side! Only minor for sure was lack of a preferred dessert, shame that there wasn’t a more “straightforward”, for lack of a better term, option, like a couple of scoops of ice cream, or the dark chocolate cake that was on a while back or even the berry crumble. As it was, made do with a great tasting brownie off the counter. Would definitely recommend and visit again

Really lovely food - recommend the coal roasted feta salad. Staff were attentive but not invasive. Great atmosphere - relaxed, gentle music, lots of interesting books to look at! Highly recommended.

Great place to meet a large crowd, even if the staff was a bit worried. They accommodated all of us! Morning after a wedding and it wasn't planned, but @ 30 of us gathered here.

this lunch made my first time in hereford 1000% worth it! food was exquisite and very much similar to what we’re used too in london, but snuggle in a tiny street, with the loveliest staff i’ve experienced in a while, and warm atmosphere! will come back for sure

Great food and friendly & efficient service.

It's our second time here and it didn't disappoint. Great menu and well executed dishes. As a carnivore I was a bit sceptical when my wife ordered the cauliflower main course, but I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was, especially paired with falafel. My fellow diners said it was the best sticky toffee pudding they had had. Erin looked after us well.

A charming spot with a cozy atmosphere! The menu offers a delightful range of dishes, and the staff is friendly and attentive. I especially loved the dessert selection. A great place to unwind with a good book and a cup of coffee!

We had a wonderful experience at dinner tonight. My husband and I shared the rump steak, which was cooked to perfection. My Bernaise sauce was perfect as was his peppercorn sauce. We ordered a side of broccoli and I was happy to get brocollini instead. The fries (chips) were good, as was the service. Add in a bottle of French wine and we had one fabulous meal. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert. Great place.

We had the best breakfast we have ever had at the Bookshop. All the staff was very welcoming and friendly.

I don’t know how to put it right not to be upset , but I was disappointed with a birthday greeting on yesterday, you don’t make people special on such day. If I knew you not making effort for 2 minutes- like, staff singing happy birthday or making birthday person more special I would not book a table in your place. Don’t take this feedback as a negative, but hopefully you can learn something for the future.

My friend was visiting from Leeds and we booked for Sunday lunch at The bookshop. It did not disappoint and I would highly recommend. The waitresses were attentive and friendly and the lamb was superb with all the trimmings. Since moving to Hereford this restaurant has become a firm favourite of ours - we love the brunches too!

A very nice evening. They managed to squeeze us in and the picanha was a 10 out of 10!

Sunday lunch, good but not hot on arrival so soon cooled off which spoils the taste. It was a late lunch which may have contributed but remains a good value.

My husband and I had a late brunch date here for a Valentine’s Day treat. Our small dog was with us as he’s always welcomed here. We did book a table beforehand due to the date. A sweet young gentleman greeted us and gave us our table in dog friendly area. Our order was taken and beverages delivered by Rosie who was extremely polite and efficient. Trinity brought our delicious food to the table and had a little chat to check if we needed anything else. She’s such a great member of staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and the ambience and background music is always really lovely here. I was perusing a beautiful old book about Ross on Wye set about a hundred years ago, whilst we awaited our food. Very nostalgic.

Booked a table at The Bookshop in Hereford for my partners birthday- we were eating early and had booked so were surprised to be seated directly under the A/C unit and next to the toilet which was freezing every time someone opened the door- I asked to be moved and staff were very accommodating and friendly and we moved. My partner is vegan and there was one vegetarian/ vegan choice on the menu for a starter and main course- there was no vegan dessert option. The food was tasty but I felt it could have been hotter especially the starter. I enjoyed the experience- staff were very friendly and helpful but a few little things let them down - I would probably go back during the day to try the brunch options but not sure I would book an evening meal again.

As always, the food is absolutely delicious- we all had steak. Plus the staff are just so lovely and welcoming. Love this place.

A very professional and laid back atmosphere here in the local bookshop. The decor was very unique with books plastered everywhere. The hot chocolate I ordered was custom made by the lovely Trin who created a frog pattern from scratch completely free hand. Highly recommend you come down to this little nook!

Absolutely outstanding food. The french toast was to die for! Also the steak and eggs were really good too.

Pre ordered 2 weeks ago for a party of 16. Upon arrival waited 50 minutes for food and it didn't all come out at once. My food was steak and it was tough with poor taste. A mandatory 10% service is fair if service is decent but it wasn't.

It was a very busy lunchtime and we were fortunate to get the last available table. The staff were excellent and advised us that there would be a wait. We were in no hurry and waited. The food was excellent and the staff could not have done more

My daughter and her friend went here for steak it was disappointing as her friends was supposed to be larger but looked the same size. Apparently young girls on the weekend serving who had an attitude serving as they wouldn't even allow my daughter to have tap water with her meal. As they are college students and don't have alot of money this was a treat for them and I feel they were taken advantage of, what a shame.

Very expensive, the beef dinner was the meat+roaster's (frozen, very dry) then anything else was extra.

We had something special to celebrate and pre booked the table about 2 weeks in advance. As we arrived we were put in the dark dusty corner with a small wobbly table. After we ordered a bottle of wine, starters and the stake to share, I realised that the table was way too small for enjoying the relaxing dining experience. We had the starters but cancelled the main course. I would have been even more disappointed if we stayed and spend ridiculous amount of money for average disappointing experience. I will not be coming back again, sorry.

We always love The Bookshop. Great atmosphere and the staff are always lovely. We had the NYC brioche bun and poached eggs with avocado - all delicious! Thanks to our servers for being so lovely - Marisa especially.

When I first went to this place I was given a table and a Christmas menu but it was only available if there were over 20 people, the food was cold and tasteless, the dessert was awful it felt like you bought it in a shop and forgot to defrost it and it was a 100g piece for £9, there were no Christmas paraphernalia on the table, I couldn't understand why there were so many people, I will never go back and I don't recommend it to anyone.

We had a superb Sunday lunch which was next level for quality and flavours. Good value for money at £19.50 for the standard of food. The service was great and there's a nice atmosphere. Booking is probably essential for a Sunday.

Spectacular food and great service. Experience was spoiled ever so slightly by being seated right by a front door that was constantly swinging open, letting the bitter cold of the evening in, but would recommend with the highest regard without any hesitation.

Efficient service,staff very pleasant. Good choice of food. Only thing that would be nice is a free coffee refill as by the time my food arrived my coffee was going cold and the cup was only about 2/3 full in the first place.
