Arrived towards the end of Sunday lunch serving times on Mother’s Day with no booking (!!!). Party of 2 adults (1 vegan) and a dog. Staff could not have been more accommodating. Apologised for anything they didn’t have (despite it being totally to be expected given the time and the date!). They let us know what we could have and chef came out to check what I would like as part of my dietary requirements and went over and beyond making me gravy from scratch etc. The Sunday lunch was delicious and all the staff that we encountered were so friendly and helpful, we felt very welcome and looked after! Would definitely recommend.

Thank you for a lovely weekend. We could not fault it what so ever. The Chef was amazing. 10/10 for the food. The steak and lemon and raspberry sauce cheesecake is to die for. Good job i dont live close otherwise I would be going for tea every night! All the family are so friendly welcoming and genuinely want you to enjoy the experience there. It was only a 15-20 minute walk into Leominister town centre. Don't hesitate. We fully recommend.

Stayed for two nights in the Motorhome on hard standing, ate in the pub and the food was lovely, staff were really friendly and breakfast the next day was good too. Felt like locals even though we are not, yes it was a tad muddy but it is February so kind of expected it, 4/5 due to the pub being cold as no logs for the fire and no real ales :(

The wonderful pair running the pub tonight were absolutely amazing. Both gentlemen made me feel really looked after and nothing was too much trouble. The pub has a really welcoming local feel. There were several vegan options. Richard was willing to go above and beyond in making sure I had enough to eat. Very generous and kind. It's been favourited on my maps! Thanks guys

Baron's Cross was an absolutely fabulous motorhome park with an excellent pub and restaurant. Nina and her 2 sons( Richard and Harry) are exemplary hosts. They have their trademark 20 burger! 15 oz mince 3 beef patties topped with 5oz sirloin steak! It's a beast,,,for those with an appetite! The history of Baron's Cross goes farther back than Canada as a country. Services for motorhoming are fairly priced, showers, wifi, electric and water hook up. A playground area for kids and a large field to let your dog run! Banks, groceries and all amenities are just up the road. A 6 min walk to Morrisons and fuel. I truly recommend Baron's Cross to moho traveller's, especially in January when many sites are closed for the season

Absolutely superb fish and chips (gluten free). Light crispy cider batter and crisp chunky chips with garden peas and generous portions. The food was freshly prepared and piping hot. The chef checked that we were enjoying the food. Definitely check out this pub as it has recently changed ownership. Good selection of beers if that is your thing. Also noteworthy is that we ate around 5pm - many pubs aren't serving food at that time on a weekday.

Stayed on the campsite attached to this lovely in pub in November - campsite open all year round. Owners are very friendly & welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. There were 6 of us - as soon as we checked in, owners reserved us a table. Food served at pub - was lovely, best pub home cooked chips I had in ages. Went for breakfast, again nothing was too much trouble. Bacon & sausage were all local - breakfast was again lovely. Cooked fresh to order. Toilets were lovely & clean - in Ladies toilet was a portable changing unit - clearly a friendly family pub. There was also a separate shower. Good beer garden as well - again with gates so younger children are safe. Children’s play area could do with some attention-in fairness the owners haven’t had the pub for long. So, this could be something they are looking to address ready for 2025 season. It’s ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me.

Right where do I start , Firstly the positives, The owners have only been at the pub since August, and you can see the amount of work that they have done , I was told by a local that the pub had a chequered past , Nothing at all wrong with the pub , Food was very good , good size portions and excellent value for money, and all the staff were good. Now the negatives, We arrived in our motorhome, and had requested a hard standing pitch , On arrival we found that there was only 4 hard standing, and they were taken , so going onto the grass I got stuck in the mud and other campers help push me off , not a great start , We were told , the toilets would be open at 8 am and their special campers breakfast would be available from 9am , we left at 9.30 and there was no sign of life , There is a portable loo , which was disgusting, and overflowing. The washing up area was full of paint tins , rollers and brushes etc , and I had to move dust bins to get at the chemical waste . Now if you are going to have a camp site , find out what campers need, and provide it . I hope the new owners make a success of thing and wish them luck .

Great little campsite and pub. We stayed over the weekend and couldn’t believe the amount of space there was. It was a lovely flat pitch with soft ground. The field is surprisingly peaceful and our dog loved charging around after the swallows that were swooping across the site. The toilet block could do with a bit of sprucing up, but was functional. The owner was incredibly welcoming, as were all of the locals in the pub. Please visit and buy a few pints in the pub so that we don’t lose little gems like this.

After waiting to be served while the staff were out the back smoking that was only the beginning of the downhill slope. There were 3 couples all waiting for sunday lunch. The first couple after waiting for over three quarters of an hours refused to pay for their food as it was cold. When our food came,I was unsure if we'd received the last couples food. We had waited an hour by then. My chicken was dry,no stuffing and the gravy looked like it was from the other table when it eventually arrived. My partner had the pork chop, again ,looked as if it had come off another plate. We asked for apple sauce.....there was none. Each sunday roast cost £10.25 . Definitely not worth going. As for the last couple,we had left before theirs came out!!!

Hopefully that would be upgraded soon. Great entertainment during the weekend. Love birds on your site. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The landowner hid from us when we needed to speak to him about the situation and left the people that were going to host the event to deal with the explosion he had caused . We ended up leaving the campsite as we didn't feel safe leaving our tent with the general public unattended. And they have ducks in a cage and not free. We were very disappointed with our stay.

Booked Sunday lunch this Sunday, so arrived on time to an empty car park. Should have turned away at that point!! Waited an hour for meal which was reheated meat covered with gravy (gammon +beef). The vegetables were very bland with not an iota of cooking ability to them. I chewed through the beef and vegetables and really regretted it half an hour later. Whilst there only 3 tables had meals!!!!! (including us) We were met by a pile of rubbish at the entrance to the back eating area, and that itself was not tidy. At the rear was quite a few tents, caravans and motorhomes, so the owners had moneterised the field and I would say that IS the business. The inside of the Inn has no character, very bare, soulless is a good description and is obviously not patronised by locals. All in all a dire meal which left me feeling pretty crappy all afternoon.

Fantastic meal, and such a delight that the Stagg Inn, now reopened under a lovely, family team with a top chef, is now back to 'the Stagg' that my partner and I have known and loved for, well, getting on for 30 years. Halibut in a good strong lobster sauce served with samphire; local dry aged fillet steak done rare, exactly as requested, with peppercorn and thyme sauce, oyster mushroom, and great big fat crispy chips; starters were prawns marie rose in a tangy sauce, and scallopsnwitblack pudding, and garlic and herb butter. And, as if inheriting the old Stagg DNA, cointreau and nutmeg creme brulee and baked orange cheesecake as desserts. And local ale Butty Bach on tap. I very much regret to have read one or two unwarrantedly snarky recent reviews on this site, which is why I'm posting this one. Yes, their ebulliant staff member, a delightful and seriously accomplished young person, undertakes diligently her duties of ensuring that diners are happy with the service; which we were. Yes, the restaurant has been tastefully refurbished, ahead of reopening under this great new team. Is Actually, that is as one might expect. And finally, yes, they're not the cheapest, but that's because they're a seriously good restaurant with a Michelin star. And friendly too. Superb meal - well done, guys!
