Booked a table for 3 at short notice. They were very helpful and we really enjoyed our food which was very reasonably priced. Not our first visit here and definitely won’t be our last.

Sunday roast at its best. Freshly cooked large helpings good selection of vegetables. No room for sweet 😂 Friendly helpful staff

Popped in here as it was the venue for a friends mums wake and was blown away by the quality of the buffet food and exceptional staff. We ended up staying on for dinner and the food again was sublime, top quality fish and steak cooked to perfection and some of the nicest ribs I’ve eaten in a long time. The staff were attentive and could not do enough for you which is the sign of a great team. If I am ever in Hereford again I am certain to visit.

Called in to this place on the off chance, even though we were a little early the staff told the three of us to take a seat. it was not quite mid day, but a waitress came over and took our drinks order. the three of us went for the beef pie, and we were not disapointed, the shreded beef was so tasty and the pastry was not a ready delivered type of pastry, well if it was it was still great, plenty on the plate as well.the cheese after was a good selection and was not frozen as it is in some places. would go again when I am in that area.

The Bay Horse recently provided an excellent buffet after my Dad's funeral. There was a good selection of sandwiches , quiche, sausage rolls etc with vegetarian and gluten free choice, as well lovely cake ! Thank you

14 of us attended 25th Aug and sat outside. We were mainly served by a young man who was excellent. The food was amazing and we had a very nice time. The other servers were also very very good but the young man made a very huge impression on the whole group. Well done all

Found this pub by asking Google maps for places to eat nearby. Had a lovely experience, staff were lovely and full of smiles. Food was hot and plentiful. Didn't have to wait to long , 20 minutes at the very most. Hot plates and hot food . Highly recommended. Didn't have pudding as run out of room.

We went here as a group of 10 plus 2 children. We arrived at different times and the waitress was quick to take our drinks orders as we arrived. The food was served quickly, and with very generous portions. Staff were attentive and always smiling. Overall we had a lovely evening and will be back.

Family organised a 30th birthday party for me at the Bay Horse. Service was excellent, warm, prompt and friendly. The portions were huge at an excellent price and the food was delicious. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Would highly recommend.

Wow. We were booked in for a christmas get together with our friends this evening. we opted for the Christmas party menu and it didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing i had the christmas dinner which was great value for money as well as being so tasty! the staff were quick and efficient aswell as being friendly, the young brunette girl behind the bar was very friendly and helpful (sorry i didn’t catch her name) nothing was too much trouble! i’d highly recommend to anyone after a lovely meal with friends or family. Will definitely be back soon.

Booked a corporate Christmas do with The Bay Horse fairly last minute, with no bother at all. Olivia was great at point of booking and very efficient and friendly. The night was perfect! Food incredible and service was impeccable! A warm environment awaits, with a great selection of meals and drinks. All allergies catered for too.Being used to the Hilton, I can honestly say the service and food won us over compared. A lovely, warm and friendly environment and atmosphere with great local produce. The OFRT Xmas lunch here again.Booked for 15 at £35 for 3 courses.Some people passed on the starter but wished they had not.The main selection was a seafood terrine,which i had but there were other starters.Main course for most of us was the roast turkey which came as a tower on the large plates which consisted of roast potatoes as a base with parsnips then 5 slices of turkey and lashings of rich gravy.There were extra vegetables of carrots batons,brocolli and sprouts.Cranberry sauce in ramekins and more gravy.This was the best we have ever had.The puddings were rhubarb and ginger tart,xmas pudding and custard and cheese and biscuits.I had the latter which was 3 types of cheese,crackers and butter,pickled onions and their homemade chutney.We can thoroughly recommend coming here .The staff were brilliant and service was swift.All the meals came without delays.

Felt like we were sat in a doorway, down a step by a back entrance. Was cold and draughty, asked to move but all tables were booked. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food choice was very limited if you don’t eat meat. For example there was no vegetarian burger option, not a difficult option to offer, 2 choices of veg/ vegan which weren’t very appealing. Lots of choices if you ate meat.

Excellent lunch. Highly recommended I had the vegan fish and chips and the chef made me a good sized portion of vegan tartare sauce. The only disappointment was that I didn’t have room for pudding. Hubby had the whitebait rib eye steak which he couldn’t praise enough. Excellent service (sorry, I didn’t get the young lady’s name) friendly staff. Will definitely be going back.

Been coming to this pub for over ten years and cannot fault the family for how well they are running the place. The Sunday roast is to die for and the team there are just fantastic. Certainly not the first good meal there and certainly won't be the last, been a few times over recent weeks and last night was as good as all other visits, yes it is a little more money than other places but what you get is good, I would not go if it were not so, staff always friendly from start to finish. Sunday lunch recently was great and the lamb chops last night was fabulous, as others have said the fish and chips you have to try but be ready for a big plate of food on that one.

This is a lovely pub with a lovely decor and wonderful staff. Everyone was extremely helpful, friendly and professional and everywhere was clean and tidy to a high standard. We were spoilt for choice with the menu but we both decided on the philly flatbread with steak, mushrooms and onions with an extra portion of onion rings. We did wait quite a while for the food to be served but we didn’t mind as we knew it would be fresh. We were not disappointed, it was delicious. We would definitely go here again, a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

We popped in while staying nearby. Everything was lovely. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had, lovely puddings, and a very happy and well-fed family. Staff were friendly and observing the social distancing rules, which are very important to us. Would love to return.

Today we ordered a Sunday roast takeaway from the Bay Horse Inn in Hereford. We ordered the roast beef with Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes, everything was delicious. It all arrived hot and well packaged. The meat was succulent and gravy was really tasty. We also ordered desserts, Toblerone brownie and white chocolate and biscoff cheesecake, both were fantastic. The cheesecake was a real winner! We will definitely be ordering another meal from Bay Horse Inn in Hereford.

Eating out at the moment is a concern for a lot of people but at the Bay Horse it’s easy to forget there’s a virus and we need to be careful because they’ve done it all for you!From the greeting on arrival, hand sanitizer, clear markings and tables well distanced this is such a lovely eating experience the clocks have gone back to 2019!Add to this an original menu and lovely staff it’s well worth a visit.A real treat this evening - dressed lobster - absolutely amazing. Could have eaten it twice over! My partner had the meat combo which would have easily fed two. Again beautifully cooked - the Vietnamese ribs gorgeous!Dessert for me, the biscotti & white chocolate cheesecake..... oh my! Sooooo good! Partner had the toblerone brownie (mine was the better of the two). Reasonable wine list and reasonably priced. Please go and support this lovely independent business!

What can I say, I had visited the Bay Horse in Hereford with some clients for a meeting. I had managed to book the entire conservatory to hold the meeting and nothing was too much trouble in the booking. Upon arrival the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming to all clients and myself and managed to sort everyone a drink efficiently. There was even plenty of parking on site for all attending. Once the meeting was complete we dined and I must say the food was impeccable. This is not your average pub food, as we had first expected. All the meals came out on time, together and the steak was cooked to complete perfection. I will definitely be returning for any further client meetings and may even take the family for Sunday lunch at some point. I would just like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at the Bay Horse Inn for making the experience such a success and so enjoyable and a huge thank you to Jane the proprietor for all her help. You now have a very happy and impressed customer who will most definitely return in the future.

We were a party of 16 people plus a baby for the a la carte menu. When booking, I was promised a square table as I think long tables are anti-social. When I phoned on the day to check all was OK I was told that they would 'try their best' to give us a square table and, sure enough, more bookings for the Chinese Night that was going on had been taken and we had a long table. Overall, it was a disappointing night - briefly, the chilli chicken starter was tasteless in spite of the soy sauce, the gammon steak was dry and chewy and the Sicilian lemon tart and Blackcurrant mouse, although delicious were tiny slices. We found the food to be overpriced for very average dishes. There were long waits between and during service with no drinks orders being taken until requested by party members. We were, also, of the opinion that if it is not possible to provide the quality of food and the best service to a large party, large parties should not be accepted or, if there is a set menu, in this case A Chinese Evening then a la carte bookings should not be offered. This was a lost opportunity for getting a good press from a party of people from a very extended area.

We have returned to this lovely pub after and abscence of some time.We are old staff colleagues who get together monthly.We had booked a table for 10 but only 9 turned up.Amy was as helpful as ever and took our orders which had some alterations to the menu.All the meals arrived at once after a short time,about 20 minutes.Lovely food ,piping hot and generous portions.Desserts not on the menu but staff willing to do were strawberry sundaes,they were great.All of us were very satisfied and we have booked for next month.

I have been a few times over the years for funeral after events and although I have no qualms about the food and service I was disappointed to find you only have a 2 star Food Hygiene Rating (Dated from 26th November 2018). While I am not surprised that many of Herefords takeaways have a the same rating a pub offering food and events should really set their sights higher. I hope you get a higher rating on your next inspection but until then I'll be giving the food a miss.

We had booked into the hotel for two nights for my father's funeral. The restaurant catered for 14 of us on the Sunday night including vegetarians. The food was fresh and hot and was served promptly. The staff were brilliant, especially Matt. The wake was held on the Monday and the catering was superb. The breakfasts were delicious. Would highly recommend this place. We had lunch here earlier this week. We hadn’t booked a table for 5 of us, but we were soon accommodated in the large room at the back of the premises. The staff were laying up the tables for the New Year’s Eve diners. When a table became free in the main part of the building,the staff were more than happy for us to move tables. They re-laid the table without any fuss. The food arrived promptly and was beautifully cooked. Reasonable prices and good portion sizes.

After booking the function room for a 60th birthday we were horrified to find we had to 2 hour slot to complete our celebrations and we were also sharing the space with other diners. As we were on the sweete and coffees the staff started clearing and laying up for fresh diners.on another function causing much disruption to our occasion. None of this was muted when booking.The meal was overpriced and below standard. Te meat and greens were fine but the roasters were pre prepared and re heated and not fit for human consumption. Also the pork scratchings was not fresh on the day.The servers however were first class.On getting my £200 booking deposit back i was informed when all the guests had payed their tab i could have it but if anyone renaged we would lose the fee.This venue was great years ago but the new owners seem to be in it for the money and not the qualityThis eatery is off my short list forever.J.D.ex hotelier. We had a delicious Sunday meal here as part of a large family group. The serving staff and kitchen staff coped very well with lots of diners at one time and the food was delicious, generous in portion size and good value for money. We will definitely return here.

Wife and i popped in for lunch.Lot of cars in car park and there was a party in the conservatory but plenty of tables in bar area.Warmly greeted by Amy and shown to a table.Given the menus and left us to select our food.There is a Winter Menu from 12 noon.Starters from £4-50,Mains from £12,Vegan/Vegetarian £12,Platters £16,Puddings £5.Tea and coffee from £2-50.I had the Xmas lunch with all the trimmings but wife could only manage the ham and cheese panini form that menu.My lunch was piping hot with separate gravy and hers was a very large portion.We used to come here monthly for OFRT lunch and hopefully we will again.

We attended a wake in the large room next to the bar which was ideal for about 50 people. Tea, coffee and a range of sandwiches, sausage rolls and cakes were available for us to help ourselves. The sandwiches were not very inspiring but the cakes were OK

The fish board compared to other menu items was superb value for money and taste superb, my wife had the Harry's Chicken, was good, but the fish patter was certainly much better value. If you still have room, the puddings were most enjoyable

Came across this place after an internet search, as late Sunday afternoon most places appeared closed.

Service was prompt, although roasties and mash were forgotten at first however were brought promptly when we asked.

I went here today with 6 members of my family, 3 of us had a beef roast dinner, the veg was lovely and piping hot, the beef was over cooked for my taste but was tender, the roast potatoes were not crispy and they were quite tough to cut through. The children’s meals were very unimaginative. I did enjoy the meal and the price was reasonable but with a bit more attention to detail it would have been above average!

Excellent tasty food. The only two things that we could fault was the soup portion was a bit on the small side, and the same with the portion of fries with the burger. Otherwise top notch, burger was amazing!!

Visited from Cardiff for a family meal. The Beef dinner was awesome, kids ate everything too. Really beautifully cooked meat, massive Yorkshire & lovely veg (some cauliflower cheese would have topped it off). Lovely rich homemade desserts to end off perfectly.
