Called in for a reviving pint. Had a local beer called Legend which went down very well. Pub is quirky as it has a Post Office counter at one end of the bar. Steepish climb up from the river Dart but worthwhile.

We stayed in the cottage suite which was exceptionally clean and tidy and beautifully presented. The host is friendly and helpful. Me and my wife will be returning.

This is the restaurant for Llawnroc hotel. We read some reviews and thought it had closed but it is definitely open and worth a visit. One of the best meals I’ve had for ages. Scallops and Hale followed by a shared Eton mess and cheese and biscuits! Staff were lovely and food 5 stars. Lovely sea views and just a short walk from the beach.

We ordered from here via just eat last night, and whilst the delivery time was shorter than expected, that’s where the positives end. Chips tasted reheated and cold - there is no chance they were made to order and must have been sat around for a while. Haddock not very crispy and just a bit sad. Mushy peas were sloppy and had no seasoning and absolutely no flavour. We had to recook most of it to make it edible. A disappointing chippy tea dinner :(

The cafe is lacking any ambiance and the staff are incredibly slow at serving customers - especially at weekends. It’s painful to watch how slowly these people Move especially with large queues.

I love this place. Before we moved away from Ringwood in 2019, we must have frequented this for meals and various events over 20 times. I’ve hosted events here and attended shows and meetings here too. Back for a weekend to celebrate a friend’s major birthday, we were always going to stay here. It has improved somewhat, making our stay even more enjoyable. Staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms are immaculate and the food is fantastic. My only gripe is that the bar closes for everyone, including residents, when there are no people in the bar. We turned up at 11pm to find the bar and tills closed and no chance of a nightcap. Other than that, impeccable.

Date visited 16th Nov 2024. Started queuing in the takeaway line and then decided to eat in. We had already chosen of the takeaway menu so ordered straight away, having not seen the sit down menu (big mistake) Food came fairly fast and to be fair was tasty but tiny position of fish for what I thought would be £8.50 for the cod alone. We all had one scoop of chips at best on each of our plates. The other items were another tiny fish a battered sausage and a veggie pie.one tap water one San Miguel which is from the can one oasis and one orange juice. The mark up for sit down is a rip off at £15.50 for a small cod meal 17.50 for large (not sure large is possible). I think we were ripped of being charged £70.50 and even at a brief view at the sit down menu after am sure we'd been overcharged. The restraunt I can concur is not in the cleanest of conditions and strangely lots of security cameras all over the place felt like big brother. I'm not sure how long these owners have been here but are new since the last time we visited, I hope they do pay attention to reviews as I feel they may not last if they carry on in the manner in which they are. We will never return to this establishment enjoy the only money you'll be getting out of us.

£3.50 for a “country ham” sandwhich which was one slice of actually quite thin ham and two handfuls off lettuce in the wrong bread. They even asked twice which bread I wanted. Brown, not white. I was the only person in there and still had to wait to be served and they got it wrong!

The Star is a friendly Cornish local pub, selling a good range of beers. It was refurbished about a year ago but has retained its old atmosphere. It has a small typical pub menu. The battered cod was white and fresh looking and very nice tasting. Like the cod the scampi was a good sized portion. The chips, which were home made were very special. The service from Rachel was quick and attentive. Thank you.

Went here for Sunday lunch with friends. Lovely food and great service. Two areas of complaint; the vegetarian option cost the same as the meat option, honestly, there’s no way a extra portion of vegetables cost as much as a portion of meat; secondly, smokers smoking just outside the rear door (including two members of staff), every time the door was opened their smoke blew into where we were sitting. H&S law says they should be at least 5m from an opening door/window.
