Stopped for late lunch burgers were great sat by lakeside . Took a box of cakes home which were equally good. Worth a visit to the Shed.

Fab place for a quick pitstop staff friendly baps were gorgeous dog friendly. Beautiful spot by a lake.

This is now a regular weekend spot, they have done a teriffic job on it. Food is good and on a sunny day hard to find better place for a lunch

We were wowed in May 2021 and could not wait to return, so we booked for lunch today. But I am afraid to say we left without ordering. The wonderful fish menu is no more and has been replaced by a "small plate" menu. "We suggest you order two small plates which, with a side, will amount to a substantial meal". How small is small? No idea. How much are the small plates? Expensive if you need two to make a meal. No starters, just bread. The fish menu would not have disgraced Rick Stein's and we commented at the time that it sounded unsustainable. I get that, but the new offering just did not do it, so the Waterside is off our list. Very sad.

Thank you very much to Chiew, Sadie and Freddie for the great service we received tonight when we came to waterside. All staff were friendly and very accommodating especially as the restaurant was very busy. The food was amazing, and such good value for money. The ambiance was lovely and we love the makeover the cafe has had. We will 100% return again.

arrived for coffee on Saturday 1st May and stayed for lunch. The service was excellent. Food was tasty, freshly cooked and delicious .I will definitely return.

Called here on the off chance of getting some lunch. We hadn't booked but they found us a table - under cover and out of the rain! Excellent menu with no run of the mill dishes. Food arrived quickly and was delicious. The staff worked very hard and everything was Covid secure. Would definitely recommend this cafe.

This fabulous venue is unrecognisable from its previous incarnation. Since Relish took it over the menu has variety, creativity and novelty. The location is still charming. The refurb gives stylish comfort in a vibrant atmosphere. Well worth a visit for lunch or dinner.

Stopped here today to have a look at the fishing lakes and came across the waterside. We were feeling peckish so thought we would grab something to eat. We walked in, and to our surprise came across a beautiful deli! Filled with so many beautiful looking goodies. Pies, Sauasge rolls, scotch eggs... I got myself a scotch egg, and my husband got a steak and onion sandwich!! Sooo good! We were only peckish this time round but will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. Well done guys, keep up the good work.

Just had a brilliant take away, so easy to order online and cooked fresh just before collection time, great and unusual flavours that enhance the main courses. Value for money is outstanding, will be using again.

We stopped off here for lunch on our way to Cheltenham and it massively exceeded our expectations! My partner had the soup of the day and I had a spiced potato hash, and everything - from the presentation to the taste - was brilliant. They had a very good selection of vegan and vegetarian options (as well as many meat options too) and a good range of cakes. They were very well set up for tackling the challenge of Covid with an excellent contactless ordering system you can access on your phone. We would definitely recommend a trip to the Waterside Cafe - we will definitely be back!

Ate here for the first time for Sunday lunch. Under new ownership and with a pop-up fire-pit cooking from Pit and Plate. Excellent food for all 3 courses and pleasant helpful service. The beef could not have been better......

Went on a Friday late morning, just into the 5th day under new ownership. COVID sorted and a pleasant location. Really good food and amazing value for money. Pub quality at cafe prices - £5 for a brioche bun stuffed full of whatever filling was chosen (in our party we had 1 with bacon (4 rashers!!), 1 with fish fingers (proper fresh ones) and 2 with mushrooms (2 giant flats)) , each with a light salad on the side and a hot drink. All tasty and fresh and with friendly service. The place had a nice vibe and the loos and restaurant were clean. There was fresh water, in a clean bowl, for dogs 😊 and decent parking with some shade. Will definitely visit again when back that way.

Fantastic little place with clever ordering system. You will need a smart phone to use it. Quite limited menu and disappointingly the sandwiches were boxed not made fresh on site, but food was tasty, service was very good and the view beautiful. Definitely recommend a visit.

Hemos estado yendo aquí para el desayuno durante unos 5 años, siempre tuvimos una buena comida recién preparada y sabrosa. Supongo que ahora tiene nuevos propietarios, aparecieron esta semana y el desayuno no solo ha subido a 9. 50 excluyendo una bebida, por lo que la factura por 3 desayunos con bebidas llegó a 37 + pero obtienes 1 salchicha 1 tocino 1 huevo 1 pudín negro la mitad de frijoles y 1 sí, eso es correcto 1 champiñón y 1 rebanada de pan tostado. Las únicas cosas recién preparadas en el plato eran el huevo y las tostadas, todo lo demás estaba precocido y seco. Teniendo en cuenta que hay un beefeater un par de millas más arriba en Cirencester (al lado de Tesco) que para 9. 50 puede tener un desayuno ilimitado que incluye jugo de fruta ilimitado, tostadas, pasteles, cereales, té y café y cualquier cantidad de productos de desayuno recién cocinados a pedido. ¿Por qué la gente piensa que si vives en Cotswold o vienes de vacaciones, eres estúpido y pagarás cualquier precio por la basura que quieran poner en un plato?

El tamaño de la porción es ridículamente pequeño, vino aquí para el desayuno 9. 50 para el desayuno de la casa y obtienes 1 tocino 1 salchicha 1 huevo, 1 tostada, 1 morcilla 1 tomate 1 champiñón, porción de frijoles, no tiene una buena relación calidad-precio y la comida es muy normal, nada especial sobre los frijoles caros

As other reviewers have noted, the menu is basic and there appeared to be no flexibility in options – it is surely not beyond reason to be able to add some bacon & tomato to an egg bap for an extra 50p. this could be PROFIT!As it is, the choice appears to jump from simple egg bap to full english, with nothing in between. Oh, and something that is not fried would be welcome.

El lugar se ve completamente diferente, renovado y con un ambiente realmente agradable. No estoy seguro si ha cambiado de manos, pero es mucho mejor que antes. Tuve la hamburguesa y era una hamburguesa real, se veía genial y sabía muy bien. Mi colega tuvo la ensalada César que disfrutó muchísimo (la única crítica es que no tenían el salmón que ella quería). Estoy recién inspirado y vendré otra vez.

Lovely setting for a cafe. So sad that the staff are so rude. We had cupcakes on the table because it was my husbands birthday but they were closed and we had no intention of eating them. The waiter came up and told us that we would have to leave if we were eating our own food. It was really unnecessary.Then later on we were served our food (which was not great) and we asked if they had serviettes and he told us they were inside and walked off. Seeing as we had quite a few older people at the table it would have been nice if he had at least offered to fetch us a few.

Love this place. Weather was perfect so after breakfast we visited the lakes. We had a lovely walk and chatted to the fishermen too. Breakfast was amazing and plenty of it too. Really good value and super friendly people.

Este fue el mejor desayuno inglés que he tenido. (Aunque debí haber ordenado el mega desayuno porque aún tenía un poco de hambre) vino con pan frito (que no estaba en el menú) y pensé que no me gustaba el pan frito hasta que probé que este sabor era absolutamente delicioso. Was recommended but got to the till only to be told 30 mins wait but it was much longer. Disorganised as had to ask for our drinks. When busy was noisy. Not my cup of tea & food was average and won’t be back again.

La amabilidad y la forma fácil de el personal parece infectar los clientes también! He tenido algunas charlas con los visitantes, precioso algunos turistas y algunos, como yo, trabajan en la zona. Yo trabajo en atención de la salud está vaciado y exigente, la cascada es mi refugio donde me dan poco para recargar baterías, disfrutar de buena comida y volver a trabajar la sensación relajada y feliz. Una gran relación calidad-precio. La semana pasada llevé a mi colega y le encantó. Este lugar mucho al dejar los Cotswolds.

Es casi tan buena como se pone para el desayuno. El desayuno mega es una vista para contemplar. Todo es acerca de cocinado a la perfección. Mi esposa estaba preocupado por el uso de tomate en lata, pero fue una gran adición. las vistas al lago son preciosas, y sospecho que en un día soleado el lugar tendrá bastante ocupado.

Decidimos visitar en nuestro viaje de regreso de Stroud. Estaba ocupado sólo una mesa con nadie sentado en lo alto, estaba sucia con tazas apiladas y placas. nos paramos ahí por 2 minutos y no reconocido incluso por un miembro del personal. Me alegra que estaban haciendo tan bien que no necesita más negocios.

Vivo muy cerca y en ocasiones salir el sábado por la mañana para un desayuno rápido en algún sitio. La última vez que vine aquí fue el verano pasado. Su ubicación es muy agradable, especialmente en un día agradable como te puedes sentar fuera. La comida y el servicio era regular.

Have been a customer since it had opened, but won't be visiting again anytime soon. The service hasn't been great on the last couple of visits and even worse today.The young team need a good manager to train and motivate them properly, it's very obvious to see.I feel a little sorry for the owner who probably doesn't see all the 'goings on'.The food itself is ok, and good value for a nice breakfast. The menu could do with changing to be a little more modern.This place could be great, it just needs steering in the right direction.

I visited the waterside cafe with friends on the 6/11/16 and it was a disaster.I ordered a fried egg and bacon sandwich with a cup of tea- not a complicated order - and after waiting about 30 minutes, I received a sausage and egg sandwich. The cafe was busy with other cyclists, and the staff just were not up to the job. I'm sure the young'uns were doing their best and kudos for dealing with so many people in such a short time.The older chap behind the kitchen counter was not pleasant at all and made every cyclist feel unwelcome. He even went as far to tell us that the business owner hated cyclists and encouraged us to not return.

Our cycle club chose to cycle here today. One of our members didn't read the menu correctly, so was quite surprised when the person serving said how much his meal would cost. He realised his mistake, changed his mind and tried to order something else. The cook came over and basically tried to humiliate him and then wouldn't serve him. I asked the cook if he owns the place, which he doesn't. So I asked him for the owners contact details to allow me to describe the specific member of staff's poor customer service skills. His reply. 'You can only contact him through me and HE DOESN'T LIKE CYCLISTS ANYWAY'(I'd just like to point out, I wasn't the only person who heard him say this)So if the owner does read this, I'm sure this wouldn't be the way you would like your customers treated. Cyclists or not?

Mega breakfast is good value at £6.75 decent portion good location overlooking fishing lake also popular with local cyclists. Service quick enough and unfussy only issue with the breakfast is the sausages are very cheap which is a shame! Cakes they sell are very good will definitely go back.

Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Would not recommend to other fishing people. After trying to belittle it's customers for an honest mistake. Food is OK. My brother in law was called an old man by one server (he is 30) and said he felt very uncomfortable

Having eaten here a few times whilst holidaying in the area, it was decided to visit again. 3 adults and 2 children, we thought that a late breakfast was in order, so we duly ordered, I do not like fried eggs so asked if my eggs could be turned into an omelette (you can order an omelette as a separate meal) only to be told NO I could have scrabble eggs but the chef wouldn't make an omelette - I wasn't asking for something that wasn't on the menu, and indeed would have paid a slightly higher price, although I cannot see the difference between 2 fried eggs or a 2 egg omelette - out of principle I cancelled my order. The other 4 did eat as I did not want to spoil it for them I had a Latte - BUT we will not be back

Poor service, poor quality food -sausages genuinely the worst I have ever had - and grubby tables and cutlery. Not cheap considering the quality of the ingredients. If you think the location may be the saving grace then think again! Yes it's by a lake but you get a better view of the car park and can't go beyond the Scooby Doo-style 'Do not Enter' signs that prevent anyone other than fishermen/women walking around the lake. Left feeling ripped-off and guilty for putting such dismal fayre in my kids bellies!

Really good week here with my family. Staff in the cafe are very helpful and friendly RIchard runs the cafe and was excellent and Keith was also very helpful showing us how too fish as I have forgotten after 25 years !

I saw the cafe advertised in a local publication so decided to take my husband and 2 year old for breakfast. Upon arrival the tables outside were filled with cyclists and there was 2 other customers sat inside. There was ample staff (chatting), all very young, stood around the counter. There were no tables outside so we chose a table closest to the byfold doors. The table was dirty, the floor was dirty. We chose another table, which was better but still had the remains of the last customers breakfast. My husband ordered at the counter, the staff were pleasant but the food was expensive - we ordered an omelette, beans on toast, a coffee and 2 Apple juices and it came to nearly £20. We noted the couple who had finished their breakfast had left and the assistant cleared their plates but did not clean the table. We managed to move outside to a reasonably clean table but there was old bird poo on the seats. When the food came out, my husband enjoyed his omelette but I could not eat as I was so put off by the general hygiene of the place that i was concerned of the cleanliness of the cooking! It's a shame as the setting is nice, just expensive and generally unclean! Maybe the staff should stop chatting and clean!!! We will not be back.

Visited this cafe for breakfast on route to London as was recommended by friends- young lady at till 18/6 barely could raise a smile- the few of us ordered different breakfast options of which mine was bean on toast- I asked does it come with butter on?! As I'm lactulose intolerant- she said yes so I asked for no butter kindly! After a good wait for our breakfast although it was busy our food was brought of which i mentioned the food had butter on- all of the staff for a busy cafe to hear shouted who was told no butter?! Whilst looking at my table I felt so so embarrassed- when the re-ordered food came I couldn't bare to eat it- it may seem nothing but it generally ruined my morning! I feel the staff may need some customer service training as I most certainly won't return there at this point

Turned up for a breakfast, server was rude, wouldn't swap egg for mushrooms "owner said it's too expensive" we were told, turned around and went straight to Jesse Smiths in Cirencester- what a difference. Genuine welcome with a smile, quality sausages, quality ingredients and adults serving - not kids!I'm disappointed as a long standing customer that a few ingredients couldn't be swapped- obviously the owner is having a few financial problems!Having staff that care is as important as good Quality ingredients and unfortunately today was a display of a business run by a money grabbing owner rather than relying on good customer service to bring in the crowds- look after your customers and the customers will look after you.You lost our custom today over some mushrooms and the attitude of your staff!Good luck!!

We rented two fishing rods for a spot of family fishing. Although the fishing spots are lovely & spacious, the quality of the rods were well below par. The line is cheap & broke whilst reeling in a fish & there was no replacement hooks or floats. After one hook was lost in the tree & another disappeared with the fish, the last & third rod had problems with the reel & was unusable.A good place for fishing, though bring your own gear or check out Bibury at the weekends.

Stopped for breakfast because of the road side sign and so glad we did. Fantastic food served by lovely enthusiastic staff in superb surroundings. Will definitely be back.

set next to fishing lakes, full English from £4.95, gets busy with local workmen, fishermen, cyclist etc around 11ish but worth the wait. We were staying at the four pillars hotel and the breakfast queues were horrendous and at £12.95 not worth the money.Nice setting with views of the fishermen and nice walk around the lake.

Brought some friends here for a light lunch as we were showing them the area.We all had basic sandwiches and hot drinks. The bread was excellent and the fillings moist. Staff were pleasant and prices sensible. Interesting location alongside a match fishing lake. Go try!

Meaga breakfast is definitely mega. Filled me up for the rest of the day. We visited about 9.30am on a sunday morning. There is a lovely view too. The service behind the till could maybe be a bit more organised but very glad we came here.

This was a welcome spot! We popped out from the Hoburne park to scope out the bike route for a future stay and spotted this cafe. We popped in for a drink and the gentleman was friendly and welcoming. I treated my husband to a mega breakfast which he really enjoyed. It was cooked fresh and served on hot plates. He really enjoyed it, and that's rare these days as often the food is pre-cooked and kept warm. If you're going to have a calorie fest they should be good ones! We'd go back.

Went here on May bank holiday Monday for a family lunch while visiting the area. There are loads of cafes round here and the decision to go here was based on the good trip advisor reviews. Well my experience is somewhat different from the reviews. We arrived at 12.30. It was a sunny bank holiday but I'd say they were only about 1/4 full when we arrived with many people just having a drink. We queued for about 20mins to place our order (as the lady on the till didn't seem to know how to work it and was also serving drinks and cakes and issuing fishing permits) only to be told that they were out of all the specials and the fish....IT WAS ONLY 12.30.The food then came quite quickly and was fine - average café food. However, they had run out of clean knifes in their container (help yourself cutlery). When I got my food I asked if I could have a knife. I was sent to the back of the que. (I wasn't rude but did go to the front of the que thinking it would be an acceptable request). Another 15 mins of queuing the lady got 1 knife and did not refill the container?!? It is a nice place to sit right by the lake. I don't know if we just went on a bad day but I thought that a bank holiday Monday would be a day when they are fully staffed and prepared to be busy. I would not return here and would try a different café close by next time.

Yet another visit to this little gem of a cafe. Freshly cooked food, freshly brewed coffee, indeed no mass produced food here.well worth a visit - for a visit of worth !!

Stopped here today for a cup of tea and stayed to have lunch. We had fish and chips which came with garden peas and a small salad. Just like from a chip shop but alot less greasey but all the taste. Definately visit again.

Food good and fairly priced and cafe manager really helpfull with advice on fishing free Wi-fi very helpfull nice to be able to sit outside with your dog.

Have been here many times and have enjoyed it . Went today and will never return, all I can say is that if the chef is in a mood then he should not be in customer service and to take his mood out on staff and his customers is unforgivable.

I stopped here the other day and have been here many times before. Every time we've been the service has been great and the food is lovely. I had a sausage buttie with thick door step bread and a cup of tea. We ate inside then sat on the benches over looking the lake after with our 2nd cuppa! Its so peaceful and quiet. The scenery is so pretty and you can be sat looking at the lake and see birds, herons, swans and the fish in the lake while people are fishing. Last time my partner had the cooked breakfast and he really enjoyed it. My parents often pop out here for a coffee and cake and they love it here too. The mushrooms on toast is a must!,See you soon.

We stopped off here for lunch on a long distance bike ride. Homemade hot food delivered with a smile eaten in the sunny outdoors with a view of the lakes. Bicycle parking near the door and easy access from the cycle paths. Difficult to fault.

Early October I visited Lake Pochard for the weekend and used the waterside cafe. I ate breakfast here both days and I was very impressed. The food was fantastic & great value. I couldn't fault the service. I will definitely be returning when I next visit Lake Pochard. Keep up the good work :D

During a recent visit to Lake Pochard I visited the cafe for breakfast. It was lovely and extremely reasonable – I had omelette and a lovely coffee latte. The staff are very friendly and kept calling me young lady As I have a 20 year old daughter that went down well !!! I sat outside on the deck sun bathing -and it was so warm I could have been in Spain. I also looked in at the Four Pillars hotel restaurant and the café was much nicer! Well worth a trip when you stay ,

I used the Waterside Cafe for breakfast one morning when staying in one of the on site lodges. The surroundings are basic but clean and the cafe seems to mainly cater to the many anglers that use it, however the service was good and the food was also of a high standard and good value for money.

Stopped of with my wife for breakfast,First class service great price but most of all first class breakfast also went for a walk around the lakes which are amazing also noticed beautiful log cabins you can rent right by the lakes and cafe will be booking just so I can visit cafe every morning

During a recent visit to Lake Pochard with some girlfriends, we visited the cafe on a couple of occasions. It was very nice. The menu has a nice selection of home cooked food and also a good old english breakfast. The food we tried went down very well and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The staff are very friendly. Well worth a trip when you stay or even if you are just visiting.

I Spent the weekend at Lake Pochard a few weeks back, and stopped in this cafe several time. Each time I was very delighted with the quality of food, and the great, friendly service I received. Its a great place to each afternoon tea out side on the banks of the lake - Highly Recommended, and can not wait to go back!

I have used the cafe a number of times, it is always a good experience, the food is great value, & the setting is a delight.The inside cafe area is a little basic, but I guess that is in the price, so its hard to find fault.If you get the right weather, then eating outside is a must, as I have seen all sorts of wildlife as I munched away on bacon sandwich.I tend to have an all day breakfast, or a bacon sandwich, so I cant comment on the other food, but I have had the carrot cake on more than one occassion, & that went down well with their great coffee.I am always surprised at how many cyclists visit, I guess that they get their carb fix here, which is hardly surprising, as the bread is as fresh as the driven snow, & they give very generous slices.
