We had a fantastic meal with our family last night. The hotel/pub is dog friendly. The landlady was very welcoming and lovely with all the dogs. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. 4 of us looking for a very light lunch near (but not actually in) Broadway, at 12.30 on a showery Saturday in June. Phoned a few minutes ahead to ask if they did sandwiches and could fit us in; phone answered promptly and the lady sounded friendly. Arrived to find Willersey is a very pretty village, the pub has plenty of parking and a small beer garden. Friendly welcome from the waiter, showed us through the nearly empty bar and into empty dining room (though another family arrived later); we did wonder why it was so quiet because the food was excellent and nicely served, the service likewise. The melted brie and cranberry 'sandwiches' our friends ordered from the sandwich selection turned out to be submarine rolls served with salad and fries. I had pate and toast from the 'starters' section of the main menu (that was really good and served with toast and salad) and husband had sausages and mash. It was all lovely. Happy to recommend.

We reserved our table ahead for Sunday Lunch. Sue, the manager was helpful on the 'phone when asked re lunch service and veg. options. As well as traditional roasts, they offer a nice selection, including a sea bass beurre blanc. My sirloin beef was a quality cut, generous; not too thinly sliced, served with traditional trimmings and four tasty veg. Both meals were delicious and came well-presented. Staff are friendly in a relaxed, cosy ambience. Prices are good. We'll definitely return!

Having stayed a few times I was looking forward to another visit to The Bell. Not sure what has happened but it’s not a happy place and we were welcomed like lepers. Hosts ignored us and made us wait while serving locals. Definitely not a warm welcome and very poor customer service. It’s a shame as it was our go to place in the cotswolds but we will not waste another pound here after such a frosty reception. If you have a barge pole I suggest that you use it !!!

My husband and I called 7pm midweek on the spur of the moment. Overall it was very disappointing There were very few customers and we were ignored for a while. Could see nobody eating , the restaurant was empty we asked if food was being served. There were no specials of the day and a basic menu. My husband chose a burger which he said wasu ok, I chose homemade meat pie. When the food arrived it was placed at our table and we were left alone. I found my pie disappointing particularly as I was expecting a homemade pie to be better than than the average. Overall my meal was very poor, although I felt embarrassed to complain. Pie was warm rather than hot and covered in thick gravy. Needless to say we will not be returning.

I was one of a party of about 25 who booked meals here after a day out on the nearby Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. All the tables were arranged for our arrival, and staff organised the first round of drinks very quickly. (The delivered beer was a bit 'off', but was changed immediately without any fuss). Pre-ordered main courses were brought as fast as the kitchen could prepare them, but a varied selection meant that took a little time (better than warmed up, over- or under-cooked though) and was well worth the slight wait. My choice was the homemade pie of the day (beef on the day) with mash & veg (carrot, beans and broccoli) and all was excellent, and a suitable sized meal. I chose sherry fruit trifle as sweet, and that was just as good. Not cheap, but a fair price for good food in good surroundings served by very able staff who worked very hard with us and other customers. Would I go again? Yes, without a doubt on a simlar outing with friends and colleagues.

Far from it - we were made very welcome immediately and the service and food was excellent. We had two (well behaved) dogs with us who were welcome in the bar area and were pampered by the owner.

Is there any excuse at all for loos that have not been updated for forty Years? The sink and worktop and were the same as my mother’s in 1976. It doesn’t take much these days to update the furniture and make the place a bit quirky, but this pub is in real need of a make over. I wouldn’t go back, you should have a good memory of a place when you’ve left and this just left me thinking about other, better places with proper character and nice loos!

She was crabby serving us, to be fair the mains were delicious, just watch out on deserts, they're overpriced but what really took the biscuit was the custard and toffee sauce served with two deserts costing £15. Just a drip or two more than a thimble's worth, disgraceful. By the time we left, after biting tongues and killing her with kindness, she was almost nice to us. In short, I am bored of pubs that have enough locals not to care about newcomers, I will never go back just because of her attitude.

What a friendly welcoming place The Bell is ! Set in the pretty village of Willersey, right across the road from the duck pond, complete with water lilies, it's a gem of a find. Sue and Louise made us so welcome and the accommodation and breakfasts were great. We ate there 2 evenings and the food was first class, freshly prepared and with a few specials as well. The lamb rump was perfectly cooked and scrummy puddings. I had chicken and ham pie another evening; some places declare their pies to be 'home made' only to be disappointed but I really enjoyed this one, the pastry and filling tasted truly home made. We had glorious weather and really enjoyed sitting outside with a glass of wine, chatting to the locals after a day visiting places nearby in the beautiful Cotswolds. This village is just outside Broadway but so much quieter to stay in. We would love to return before too long.

We visit the bell on Father’s Day never been there before .we were appalled at the behavior of a large table which decided to rearrange the restaurant to get a pushchair through without even asking they pulled the table to one side.there was a disable lady sitting on the next table.did they think of her No,disguising. It all very good running people down that are doing a good job management were caring for a disabled person and putting her first.but perhap you felt you were more important.disgraceful behavior.our first time at the Bell service fabulous standards excellent food very good.we shall definitely be returning.well done bell it’s a shame people like that can’t put others like the management first.BIG Thank you Bell.

. . a pesar de mi muy buena entrada. . La campana nos dejó decepcionados. ¿Volveríamos? No. . . recomendaría la campana? No.

Rooms ok, they are separate from pub across the car park. Food freshly cooked and very nice. Choice of wine not so good. Breakfast basic but ok, cooked breakfast provided. In a good position for touring the Cotswolds, many places within a short drive. Downside was that staff lacked friendliness so we felt uncomfortable.

Lovely pub made of Cotswold stone opposite a duck pond in a picturesque setting. Cosy and interesting interior and a fine selection of ales. Proper pub grub - we had the Whitby scampi and the open fish finger sandwich which was v generous. Very tasty. Extra marks for putting up swift boxes and asking the customers to contribute. A pub that cares for its environment is spot on with us

I arrived here after finding Broadway too crowded on a sunny early Sunday evening in Autumn. However I was made to feel like a potential terrorist from the moment several staff eyed me suspiciously as I parked my car in the deserted car park and approached the bar perfectly innocently on an early Sunday evening. The tentative service continued as we finished our drinks and enquired about evening dinner service. The place was like the Marie Celeste after a fire drill but we ploughed on despite misgivings about service and popularity. My lamb when it arrived was obviously some fag-end rubbish I wouldn't give to my dog. My guest's fillet steak(not on the menu)was not cooked as ordered. I did register a complaint which was acknowledged with a shrug, but without any attempt at reparation or apology. We skipped pudding but risked a coffee. Throughout, service was of the Basil Faulty "smile but we hate you really" standard - still can't work out what we did to deserve such offhand treatment. Later I discovered we'd been charged twice for drinks, which, to be fair, after a phone call they refunded, . All in all, an evening to be forgotten. Never again.

No volveremos

After walking around Cirencester we chose The Crown for dinner. Although disappointed that the Sunday Roasts were sold out, our party enjoyed a Cheeseburger, Chicken and Mushroom Pie and, from the Children’s Menu, a cheese pizza. The burger was a bit spicy, but all were pleased. The Chicken and Mushroom Pie consisted of chicken, mushrooms and gravy baked in a pastry with a crown on top served on whole peas. Delicious! All servings came with French Fries. We are very glad we found the Crown.

The staff are exceptional in their efforts to make your stay go well. And I want to note the help… more than help… provided by Steve in changing my friend’s flat bicycle tire. She was having some issues getting it done and he fixed it in minutes. Reception, housekeeping, and waitstaff. Excellent. But especial thanks to Steve.

We ordered three fish and chips and one sausages and mash. The lack of actual fish and portion size was very disappointing. Not sure what fish it was but it was greasy fkat and soggy. The sausages were overcooked and dry, the mash was tepid and lumpy and the carrots were cold. The two staff were overworked and we didn't complain at the time as they were doing their best. We would not return to this venue and would recommend others eat elsewhere

I've just visited for a fantastic Sunday roast. I had pork and my friend had turkey. Both meals were excellent - really well cooked (vegetables done just right, separate bowl of cauliflower cheese) delicious crackling on my pork, crispy roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding that we were almost too full to eat. They were very busy but the service was excellent - there were enough waiting staff keeping an eye open. It's a lovely pub too. A very pleasant experience, thank you.
