This was our first impression of Cirencester; and what a great pub it is! We were greeted and welcomed in with a beaming smile (this really makes a huge difference). The rioja was gorgeous. The bolognese pasta (kid’s menu), unlike most children’s food, was well-seasoned; balancing a child’s preference for a blander taste with the fact there should be at least some flavour. The landlady was extremely graceful when I miscalculated the price of two glasses of wine by two decades (possibly three). Looking forward to going back.

Absolutely first rate pub. Staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly. The Sunday lunch was well priced and the food was really really good. Also it's a dog friendly pub that's kept spotless. Very highly rated and will return 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Possibly the worst roast dinner we have ever eaten. We had not eaten all day and decided to try the crown. Big mistake! Beef like leather, soggy potatoes burnt, shrivelled over cooked green beans. Rock hard cauliflower cheese. So many nice places to eat in Cirencester. I would avoid this place for Food. We complained to the waitress, who then told the manager. The manager was heard saying well they’ve eaten some of it, can’t be that bad! It truly was.

We called in for a bite to eat on a Saturday late afternoon as it was one of the few places serving food in Cirencester town centre at that time of day, the service was good, we both had fish & chips which were decent sized portions but the frozen chunky chips were enemic and quite hard. the fish overcooked and peas dry

A lovely, unpretentious pub in the very center of Cirencester, which is a fine city itself. It is very spacious with lots of nooks to sit in, so it doesn’t feel overcrowded even with many people. There are some tables outside, but we stayed inside as it was raining. The pub is dog-friendly, so lots of local people pop in for a pint while walking their dogs. The food was tasty, and the portions were sumptuous. Good beer. Helpful staff, who warned us about a 45-minute wait, but the food arrived much earlier.

Possibly worse roast dinner we have had out . Waited 45 mins for our roast which you don't mind if it's nice and fresh . When it finally came. The beef was 2 thin slices of over cooked beef that had been cooked on a griddle pan. The roast potatoes were Soggy but over cooked looked like they been in the fryer .Nothing on the plate was fresh looked like it had sat there for hours then been reheated. No one came over to asked if the meal was ok. Wish we had sent it back but after waiting and not eating all morning as we were saving ourselves for a dinner out as a treat .we ate what we could. We gave our feedback but management not bothered. Poor service and even poorer food. Such a shame in the heart of the town. Will definitely not eat there again.

Great little pub, food good and staff friendly with the Guinness cold. A clean and tidy outlet with plenty of room. Location in a busy town on thr corner with passing trade in and out. . Outdoor seating with the sunshine on most of the tables.

Lovely food. Was a bit quiet inside (not really a bad thing) but then the beer garden was busier.

We had a fantastic evening thanks to Cam, Josh, Tanya and the entire team. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. They made the experience fantastic through their good nature and professionalism. 10/10 would recommend!

Friendly staff, but all fairly young (where has the old staff gone) ? meal ok, not like it used to be. and whats happened to the rear garden ? one used to be able to havea drink out there, and then leave via the gate, which now is blocked off.

Fabulous fish and chips for only £14. Fish was huge and fresh, nicely fried. Chips were crispy outside fluffy inside. Service was great. Drinks were reasonably priced too. Good atmosphere inside the pub.

Had a particuarly good Ploughmans here (nicest I've had in a long time) that was great value compared to local competition, Nice little courtyard garden and helpful freindly staff.

Pubs had a refurb....nice. Always friendly. Good pub grub. Lots of events like rock and roll bingo.

service was good but got food poisoning which wasn’t really the best :) just don’t get anything with meat in it and you might be safe. was bedridden for a full day and puking every 20 mins for a full 24 hours

We had Sunday Roast. Nice pub. Great service and also lots of locals eating here in heart of Cirencester.

We had a really lovely meal there, service was great and all staff were very friendly. Lovely decor and atmosphere in the pub with attention to detail. Great choice of food, everything was fresh and tasty.

Went to the crown for lunch with my partner and his mum, such a nice atmosphere as soon as you walk through the doors and very friendly staff to greet you and let you know how to order food with them. Food was amazing (shoutout to the nachos), the entire place was nice and clean too. Shoutout to Sam, Lola and Flo for being so friendly and going above and beyond to make our visit the best it could be. They are a credit to the business! Will be back again for sure.

Lovely place. Don't go there often but it's always nice when I do. Lovely big beer garden plus a lot of room for people inside. Never had a bad word to say about the members of staff. Especially the member of staff who served me this evening. They're great. The atmosphere is usually quite good and the food is nice too. My only issue is that the drinks are a bit pricy in comparison to the rest of Cirencester. It's a bit too high for me to make this place a regular for myself, but the rest is brilliant. Just the price preventing this from being a 5 star review. If I could give it like a 4.6 on here then I would. It's so close.

Me and my girlfriend had dessert yesterday for Valentine's day. I had the best sticky toffee pudding ever please send me the recipe as its amazing. My girlfriend enjoyed her vallina ice cream. One of the front of house staff has fantastic customer service and had a lovely chat about the crown pub as all the food is homemade from fresh as it has the best recipes in cirencester. She had love hearts under her eyebrows which was beautiful for Valentine's day. I will come back again at some point.

The Crown is friendly and has a great atmosphere. We went for Sunday lunch and the roast beef was delicious- I kept finding roast potatoes under my other food...yummy!!!

Close to the centre. Variety of beers including local which I was allowed to try first. Friendly service. Food was prompt and very good. It seems more set up for food as there is a lack of cosy seating. Some sofas and arm chairs by the bar and wood burner would be nice. There is a large dining area up a few stairs. If I wanted a cosy drink from what I saw I’d pop elsewhere. To have a bite to eat with a pint I’d happily return here.

We were greeted with a smile and friendly approach, sitting us down instantly. The roast beef was absolutely incredible, generous portion and the beef was melt in the mouth. Overall a great visit and we will be back!

The best bar service I’ve had in a long time. A delightful young man served me. Pro-active helpful with beer selection, went out of his way to be polite and helpful. Didn’t try the food as short on time but had a lovely table near the log burner. Dog friendly too. Old school pub, nothing flashy but does the job well and well situated centrally. Was in Cirencester for a weekend and fancied Sunday lunch so we tried this pub over a busy lunchtime. My vegan burger was dry as a bone unlike the beef roast that was also ordered. I had three slices of cucumber and one slice of tomato as salad and a handful of chips for 14£. It's sad how some people think that if you don't eat meat you are not worthy of being served anything nice to eat but I am used to it by now so I cook for myself and my burgers are better looking and tasting than most places I eat at. The Staff at the bar said two words to me and were staring into space but the girls who served tables were nice. There are a lot of dogs, the cleanliness can be improved. Not the best pub I have been in but I am sure they have many happy customers..

Omg the food was AMAZING brought my mom and niece and we was just two minutes before Kitchen was going to close I called them and they said just quickly come inside an order. Best decision I ever made. The food was out of this world. Tania and Bee and the bar are so friendly and welcoming and warm and accommodated for everything that we could’ve asked, for. They could tell that we were not from Loco and continued to come and ask us if we were okay if we needed anything, and to be honest, I’m pinning this location in my phone and we’ll definitely return. Thank you all. :-)

It's a really nice pub, and to me the food is better than your usual pub offerings. Conveniently located, too.

We’ve visited twice now with family and had a lovely visit. The staff are superb, well trained, polite and on the ball. My daughter has a nut allergy and she was catered for with confidence. The homemade stake pie was superb! Will be back.

Excellent service, friendly staff, however we go to this pub on occasions, but this time the meal was not great. we ordered chiken burger which we always have, but this time it came without hash brown in it and too much barbeque sauce, and limited chips, maybe a different chef ? but still missing items not good.

Always great food here. Been many times now and there are so many things on the menu we like so choosing gets difficult. On the occasion Lynda had the stake & ale pie. Absolutely lovely. Loads of meat and a great pastry. A little dry inside but extra gravy was no issue and the meal was great. I had nachos. I'm a sucker for these when done well. These are exceptional; probably the best I've had outside the USA. I took the images after we had started but thought they looked so good.. We look forward to our next visit

Good spot to relax in on hot summers day, good beer garden out the back, had some great beers and food, in the centre of the town, near the abbey. had a little pub crawl this one and the 12 bells the best 2 in town.

Shepherds pie with hardly any meat. Not recommended at all

Quality food and a welcoming atmosphere. Very accommodating to kids also, with a good menu and crayons for entertainment.

First seeing the photos I wasn’t too impressed but getting there and actually trying the food it was so much better. Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone. The breakfast was also fantastic. Lovely stay and both meals had there were lovely!

Had a family meal there a few months ago. The food was very good with decent size portions. It was a little expensive compared to other places we’ve been though. What we did notice which was good is that the pub was dog friendly so they could be taken inside. We think that they had a dog menu too!

We have now visited The Crown three times over that last 9 months. Everytime we have thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Tonight was no exception. The ribeye steak was perfect and my wifes stuffed chicken was delicious. Beers and wine were superb. Well done!

I order steak and ale pie the filing was so dry and over cooked. I swopped with my husband who had gammon. When we were asked if the meal we ok. I explained and all we got was "oh really it's our best seller" and walked off. Won't be going back I a hurry

Great pub, The staff were so helpful! The main entrance is not wheelchair accessible, the bar staff could see our frustration and came to the rescue by suggesting that we use the rear entrance. Once inside we weren't disappointed with the service and quality of the food. Thank you to all at the Crown!

Found this pub after I had been wingwalking. Never been here before but it was really nice. Good food and managed to get 10 of us around the same table.

Very impressed with this pub! Food was delicious and really hot on arrival. Very reasonably priced given the excellent quality. Staff were so friendly, and knowledgeable when asking questions and opinions on the menu. Will be back!

Great atmosphere. Helpful and friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyable lunch. We went for the light bites. Scallops were absolutely delicious. The liver was cooked to perfection. Plenty of seating inside or out. Definitely recommend.

Always a good meal in here worth a visit.

This was our third visit to the Crown, each time the food has been great, on this occasion I opted for the pie and chips having been envious when my friend ordered this on our last visit, he described how delicious it was, he was right, it was lovely, nice pastry and generously filled with tender and tasty beef, the chips are also amazing, crunchy on the outside and soft centred, please don’t change them.

The decor and the atmosphere at lunch time were lacking a bit but the staff were extremely friendly, the service was quick and efficient, the food was well presented and the portion sizes were more than ample and very good value for money. An added bonus was that it is dog friendly.

We stopped here whilst looking around Cirencester a found it to be a lovely pub. It was very busy and the only table available was outside but that was ok! - Obviously it must be a very popular pub! We both had a chicken roast (Sunday special) and the food was amazing. Good quality ingredients and plenty of food on our plates. The servers both at the bar and serving the food were polite and helpful. No problems at all. Facilities were clean and easily accessible. If we were in the area again we would love to return to this pub! Would recommend!

I booked for a group of ten on Sunday evening on the Bank Holiday weekend. We were advised to preorder in case some dishes ran out. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. I really enjoyed my roast beef. Prices reasonable and plenty if choice....

Lovely little pub in the centre of cirencester. Food was very tasty and didn't take long at all to come out. We had the asparagus curry and a panini with chips. The place advertises live music and is dog friendly with outside seating round the back.

The Crown menu is marked with allergens and there was lots of choice of items without gluten for me. The meals we had on two nights were excellent. Staff behind the bar were helpful and gave note to the kitchen of my need for gluten free food. All in all a great experience
