Place to go if you want extremely bad food, bad service, and be surrounded by old men who like to lick their lips whilst staring at yo. This is defiantly a team Saville hangout

When I arrived at the pub I had asked for a table for 2 not mentioning whether we wanted food or drink. The member of staff behind the bar abruptly said no. As he let me know there was no tables and I tried to ignore the abrupt comment and said ok no worries as to which he replied “you’re going to have to be aren’t you” despite this not making sense I ignored him and just left. Rude service and clearly need some manners.

A warm, inviting atmosphere welcomed myself and my family. This place is full of character and friendly faces. Our food was delicious and the prices were extremely reasonable. Always a plus when our little dog gets fussed over. Overall this pub made our holiday a treasured, memorable experience.

Visited this place several times recently. All meals were superb. Made to feel very welcome by owner and locals. Would certainly return if in the area again felt so comfortable there. Thanks for the company

The restaurant was dead and the staff looked hung over and the smell of weed wasn't good.

Fantastic pub full of character. Great bartender with excellent music taste and choice record collection. Best craic in the village.

Best value meal we had during our stay in the cotswolds

Just had a lovely meal here! The food arrived piping hot and delicious. We are in the garden which was beautiful. Service was excellent… incredible value too! Definitely worth a visit.

Friday 5th July 2024 on our way home from Devon, we made a stop at Morton-In-The-Marsh for dinner at ‘The Inn On The Marsh’. We arrived and parked out car in the car park. We entered this mellow golden brick public house, which had a rather faded old fashioned elegance of a bye-gone ago and really friendly clientele. We were greeted by Wayne, who showed us to a table for two in a nice cosy part of this lovely pub. Wayne brought over the menus for us to look at. We perused this and made out choices and ordered our food and drinks. My husband for his main course had the beer battered cod with salad, peas and chunky chips, which he said was very nice and filling. For my main course I had scampi, salad, peas and chips served with tartare sauce, which was delicious. We washed all this lovely food down with pint of ‘Stowfords’ cider for my husband and a pint of ‘Stowford’s cider for me. We both had desserts. My husband had the apple pie served with thick custard, which he said was the perfect finish to his meal. I had the tiramisu with single cream which was really delicious, and finished my meal off perfectly. We spend a nice two hours here relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere and listening to the music. My husband and I did not want to leave, but we had to, but we will definitely be returning next time we are in the area.

The pub was a bit run down and only had one hand-pulled beer available. We felt they weren’t very friendly and only stayed for one drink!

Great service, great food, good value.

Old fashioned looking bar in a beautiful building. A few tap beers and real ales available. Big fireplace at the other end of the room with a log burner. Seating old fashioned but comfortable. Staff and locals were pleasant and friendly. Beer was good Good visit.

Very nice pub good selection of beers

Stayed at this pub in our motorhome. Warmly greeted by server, got drinks and requested a menu. Food was freshly cooked and served reasonably quickly, burgers reasonably priced. Good atmosphere, a few locals and dogs. Not busy on a Thursdsay evening. All in all a good place to stay with a pleasant walk around Moreton-in-Marsh on Friday morning.

I was passing by and stopped over for some recharging my biological fuel cells. Nice friendly place. Good selection of food. Good atmosphere and quite cosy. There's also some free off street parking available.

A lovely quaint pub with a friendly feel to it. Very spacious in the conservatory with lots of light. I will be back when I have more time to sit and watch the world go by.

I have local knowledge of this lovely place and if it agrees with me I’ve tried in excess 20 times to phone a message that says we are busy with other customers. . Which is great as they are so busy, but I’ve got a disability. I need to speak before I booked it to check that accessibility and things like that okay but I’ve got nowhere so I would say to anyone if you’re a normal person then it sounds fantastic night myself recently developed issues than the fact that they can’t even answer the telephone in three different departments after trying so many times it’s a real shame.

Atmosphere was like an old people's home and the food was disappointing for a pub in a lovely location.

An excellent village pub. Perfect selection of ales. Staff are friendly, the decor is comfy, warm and welcoming. Food is great, priced very well, and always flavoured and presented well. I could write lots more, but it would be an essay. Do visit, its worth the stop.

What a find. Just passing on a Sunday. Not very busy but called in. We wanted food but sadly no Sunday roast left. Never mind we had Rump steak and gammon steaks instead. To say it was so flavoursome is an understatement. Nice size plateful. Cooked to perfection. We also had a pudding of apple pie and plum flan. We will be back next time we’re passing. Great pub with traditional beer, food and music. Good valve for money.

Out of the dozens of pubs we visited on our trip to England, this was our favorite. The publican spun vinyls while we enjoyed our pints. The atmosphere was was laid back and the food was terrific pub fare. The decor and furnishings are classic and the apple pie was perfect. We could not have asked for a better experience for our last night.

Fantastic little find, can't recommend this place enouth. Friendly staff food is great value & really good quality 5* to the chef. Ever corner is full of interesting things to look at & spotlessly clean. Can't wait to return soon.

Fantastic little English pub we came across on our visit to the area. The food was very tasty and it was good value for money. The publican was a friendly old rocker who played some good vinyls while we ate our meal in the dining room. It was accomodating for our 2 kids as well with a children's menu. Was a good first experience eating at an English pub.

Having driven up from weymouth in the heat, just had to make a pit stop for a cooling down drink. We had all intentions to move on (we're in the motorhome), just happened to ask about permission to park up. Yes no problem at all. What was supposed to be a pit stop drink, turned into evening dinner which was delicious, cheese and biscuits, and of course a few more drinks. Thank you very much for letting us stay. We will definitely recommend here to our friends and certainly be coming back ourselves.

We walked in and found it rather quiet. We were made to feel very welcome. We perused the menu and found lunchtime food at great prices. We had toasties and they were very good. The cheesy chips were lacking a little in cheese, but still very good. The ale was good. The fire was toasty warm! Maybe a little background music would be a good addition. We would recommend this pub for good straight forward food.

We went for lunch yesterday 21st September and we and our dog were made to feel welcome by the landlord. We had the homemade lasagne and thought it was good and very reasonably priced. Lovely traditional pub.

We arrived here on a weekend without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised to be accommodated quickly for Sunday lunch. The food was reasonably priced and service was very efficient and pleasant.

Oh wow, the service was so good. And the food was even good quality. With such a quirky interior, so much to see... The rooms were clean and so comfortable and themed with great decor. We stayed in the new York room with really nice bed. The food was soon well prepared with great service and a friendly fun weitres. Definitely recommend for a short break and great rates with high quality.

Staying on a short break in a cottage with my partner and the dog. Great atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and the locals. Our dog was regularly given treats and made a fuss of. Happy Dog equals happy owners. The selection of wine and beer is limited but very good. I had the mixed grill and it was very good indeed. Decor could use a bit of an update but do not judge a book by it‘s cover, this is a nice and friendly little pub.

We always go here when we visit Morton in Marsh you can Guarantee a good quality meal here we have been coming here for about 6 / 7 years and the food is always great the landlord even went to the trouble of getting us some lamb chump from the local Butcher needless to say it was perfect it’s a lovely old pub with the quality you could not beat anywhere Amazing thank you to the landlord for everything we will be back again on our next visit 5⭐️🍻

Always a nice welcome, friendly place to eat or drink

Often driven past this pub and wondered what is was like, well wonder no more, we called in on our way down to Devon and will definitely be doing so again. It was smaller than expected inside, but had a good friendly atmosphere, a great choice of drinks and the food was simple but delicious, my Husband really enjoyed his homemade burger and I had a wonderful hearty and tasty , stilton ploughmans. Thank you for a lovely pit stop 😁

We spent a lovely day walking around Batsford Arboretum and had booked a meal for here 5.30, most places are not open until 6pm. It was ideal for us, excellent choice of menu, excellent service too, would be happy to visit again. Own Carpark

Lovely traditional pub. Landlords were very chatty and polite. Food was good, not massive amounts, but we preferred that. Very reasonable prices and delicious deserts. Will be back!

Absolutely loved this place, the landlord is a really nice guy and makes you feel welcome, we had a meal on a Saturday evening ok the pub was very quiet but then most of the other pubs around the area seemed quiet too, Our meals and desserts were lovely we sat in the conservatory and the landlord put the fire on for my wife after our meals we moved into the pub and sat on a very comfortable sofa it was like being at home, the landlord chatted to us on several occasions throughout the evening and we will not hesitate to go back the next time we staying in the area, it's a shame they don't have accommodation as we would definitely book a room.

First time coming here in such a long time and definitely won't be returning or recommending. Was not happy with Sunday lunch, food was minimal, cold, and really not worth the money.frozen Yorkshire puddings, and basic vegetables.Did complain that the food was cold so the young lady removed it and brought it back it was adequate, by this time I was so disappointed that just wanted to go. The landlord didn't even ask if we enjoyed the lunch.Would not recommend this place, It's definitely not a place to eat if you have standards when it comes to eating out.

Nice locals pub. Stopped for lunch which was very tasty and reasonably priced. Nice coffee and hubby enjoyed a couple of pints of hobgoblin. Dog friendly too.

Not the best of welcomes... landlord was quite off serving wrong drinks for what was requested... and when complaint regarding drinks was made... he would not accept this and was quite rude... and belittling which made us feel awkward... would not recommend this establishment as there are far more welcoming and friendly in the area......

My wife and I visited this pub on the off chance we could get a spot of lunch. On trying to enter the pub the door stuck and was quickly released by the man inside (presumably the landlord?). He was not overwelcoming but the pub had cask ale which drew me in in the first place, as well as wanting to eat. I had to settle for the one and only draught on offer since the other two were still conditioning (shame).We sat in the corner by the very small fire and ordered a Steak and Ale Pie for my wife whilst I went for the Ploughmans.Now, a PIE to me is something that has both a pastry top and bottom, NOT a cassarole/stew in a dish with one of those hiddious puff pastry lids which everyone else gets when you try to cut into it. So my wife had a CASSAROLE with a LID, which by the way she thoroughly enjoyed and said was very tasty.My Ploughmans contained all the necessary ingredients but not quite the right kind, the main problems were that it was served with a huge Ciabatta which had been warmed and there were no proper Pickled Onions only those hiddious cocktail onions you get with cubes of cheese and pineapple on sticks! Apart from those small details a good Ploughmans.The beer was so good we stopped for a second, but the not so warm greeting, the warm caibatta, cocktail onions and lidded casserole drop you two points.

A brilliant proper pub. Friendly landlord with great food and drink as well. Allowed us to overnight in the car park in our small motorhome. The second time we have stayed here as it is also ideally located to walk into town.

Proper old fashioned pubs are a dying breed these days, so it was really refreshing to find this one in Morton when meeting some friends for lunch. A log burner, a wing back chair, and Christmas songs playing on the record player (yes, actual vinyl!) were all welcome sights when we visited in December. The staff were friendly and helpful and the beer was good. Only marking down to 4 stars due to a limited and basic food menu, but that's also arguably an old fashioned pub trait and there's nothing wrong with classic pub grub!

Interesting traditional pub with a good selection of cask ales and reasonably priced good quality food.

Today we went for Christmas lunch. What can I say, the food was amazing and the service was second to none. It was fantastic from start to finish. Thank you to Wayne and Beth and Wayne's wife who cooked up a storm. Would definitely recommend this pub for food.
